The attack against Adam on MyOtaku had caught them all off-guard, too many people had considered The Founder to be untouchable, his space almost sanctified, it just showed how deep the terrorists were prepared to ram their theological daggers. The emotion in the control room was bedlam, multiple monitors dedicated to the HTML coding of Adam's page, others sweeping through traffic to prevent a repeat attack. During the nuclear suitcase mission he's specifically chosen Solo Tremaine's Enter the Net because of it's value to both sides, the terrorists had assumed it to be the perfect target to strike at CTU and general populace morale... they just hadn't counted on the fact that Gavin or Janus as he had since called himself was a CTU operative. ETN had always been considered a potential bombing site and was constantly monitored by CTU, the Irishman knew they'd pick up the bomb without any difficulty. He rose from the console in front of him, wiping a few beads of sweat from his forehead that threatened to work their way into his eyes. He'd had very little interaction with the other agents, most seemed almost afraid of him after his very public outburst against Crystia. He sighed, when he'd been picked up out in the desert he'd never expected things to turn out this way. He'd assumed he'd just settle back into the fold, a CTU veteran agent ready to continue the fight. Grape's office was on the top floor of the CTU building, a blending of glass, brick and exotic timbers that gave the office at once a very comfortable and very formal feeling. As he exited the elevator he saw Agent Mother and a small girl leave the office, he'd heard about Mother, and knew she was the one who had brought Crystia into the CTU fold. He lowered his eyes as she passed, unwilling, or perhaps unable to make eye contact. "Hi there, who are you ?" The voice was female, but definitely not Mother's. He looked down to see pre-teen blond staring up at him intently. "My name's Gavin..." He looked to Mother for either some guidance, or mercy, unused to dealing with children. "...and I work with your mum." "Well now you work with me too." He arched an eyebrow, unsure about what she meant. Mother simply sighed, shaking her head. "What do you mean ?" He was genuinely confused. "Agent Fluff, pleased to meet you." He broke a small smile. Evidently the appearance was a guise, but her speech hinted at a still young age. "OK Fluff" He said, patting her on the head. "I'm Special Agent Janus." "Janice ? Isn't that a girl's name..." Gavin's face fell. Mother let out a quick chuckle before putting her hand to her mouth. "Janus. J-A-N-U-S. He was a Greek god, of beginnings and endings, but mostly associated with his two faces and therefore betrayal." Mother simply stared at Gavin, understanding the significance of the codename. Fluff continued to make a frown, evidently she still didn't think much of the name. "I've got to go see Grape Ape now Fluff, but let me say, welcome to the team." "OK Janus. I hope the old man isn't too rough on you." It was Gavin's turn to suppress a laugh, apparently his appearance masked his age, despite being in CTU as long as Josh had. He waved nodded goodbye to Mother, he returned the gesture, before entering Grape Ape's most personal domain.

What do your Avatar, Signature and title say to other people?
Gavin replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Alan's username, signature and title tell me to go and look at Nerdsy's 3rd last post... -
OOC: By the way Gavin, I've never seen MIB, the Animated Series, so I've no idea what K's persona is like.[/color']
OOC: It's OK Crystia, as I wrote it the "Gavin" character actually came out pretty different so it doesn't matter.

Persona wise, Gavin resembles K from MIB, the Animated Series, not the movies. |||||||||| Gavin glanced around the Spartan chamber, two beds and a pair of cabinets for storage, one with a half-eaten sandwich on top that he assumed belonged to the rookie who had volunteered him the room. After working as the shadowy banker of the terrorists for so long a little simplicity about his surroundings would be a welcome change. He wondered briefly who his roommate would be, though his gut told him the move might not be permanent. Removing his jacket and unbuttoning the shirt underneath he ran his fingers along the fresh scars he'd received as his parting gift from the terrorists, his shoulder had been torn open by a rock and hurt the worst, his choking indifference had been instinct and he was paying for it now. He heard a knock from the door and opened it before he'd realised his shirt was still open, the same rookie from before was standing there, he was half-way in the door mentioned something about the sandwich on the dresser. He stopped mid-step his eyes locked on the veteran agent's bandage covered torso. "Oh. Sorry, I should have just barged in here." Gavin sighed. Not really feeling he deserved the apology, this was the kid's room after all. "No need. This is your room and I'm just a guest. What's your name kid ?" "Throne." The young agent was still pretty formal. Probably only a few years in CTU, still cutting his teeth. "OK Throne, you can call me Gavin as I'm still working on a new codename." "Do you mind if I ask you a question Gavin ?" "That would depend on the question Agent Throne." It was a blunt and honest response. "How long were you undercover ?" The kid hadn't wasted any time, but been smart enough to avoid asking a question he knew Gavin wouldn't be able to answer. "Long enough to work my way into Charlie's trusted inner-circle, long enough to get close enough to him as I am to you now. The actual figure is four years, five months and two days." The younger agent didn't respond, Gavin supposed he was trying to work out exactly what it might be like to work over four years in such deep cover and avoid getting caught. "Word is you know a lot of the veterans from way back." He noted the change of subject. "Word's right in this case. Grape and I were trained in or around the same time. I trained under Sour Candy too, though I don't know if he remembers me as I was still pretty raw back when it happened." He smiled wistfully, remember the earliest missions in his career and the team he'd shared it with. "What was it like being so close to them ? An unpleasant question at last. "Intoxicating... Eventually you begin to see their viewpoint, and have to forcibly stop yourself from embracing it." "That why you went ape on Crystia ?" Throne's questions had begun to get more personal. The psych guys back at the Farm must have just loved him. "Maybe. Maybe it was the fact she's partially responsible for the bandages and stitches you saw when you came in. If it hadn't been for the CTU vehicles for the assault I'd probably have bled to death out in the desert, or been fed alive to the Blue Jihad. That's hard to forget, and harder to forgive... He stopped for a moment, considering his next words. ...But it's the first time I've ever physically injured a woman, even if she is a terrorist and I regret it... It's not something I could have done so easily five years ago." He let the last part hang in the air, part warning, part confession. Throne's almost unblinking gaze broke finally as he walked over and picked up the sandwich off the chest of drawers. This was probably the longest silence since he'd arrived. The older agent had obviously given him a lot to think about, as he was about to leave Gavin spoke again. "The worst thing you will ever do, worse than killing, is recruiting. You get to know the kids you bring in, indoctrinate them and then sent them out to die for something you don't believe in. It gnaws at you and you can't ever escape it..."

"I suppose the terrorists already have a few names for me, though none of them fit for public usage...." The Irishman hung his head low for a moment, as if the entire weight of what had occurred suddenly hit him. His muscles ached, and underneath his suit were numerous stitches and about a square metre of antiseptic bandage. In about a week he'd start to feel better but right now, he felt like dying. "You OK ?" "Yeah boss, I got lucky. Doc said my injuries could have been a lot worse and pleasantly advised me to try and avoid being tossed out of the back of moving trucks in the future." He made a sarcastic grin before sighing quietly... "I could have got them all Josh, Charlie, Rai, Nomura and our traitor. If it wasn't for indifference and Sephiroth I might have been able to make it look like Platypus had switched again and given the co-ordinates for an ambush...? He gripped the cup of coffee so hard the mug threatened to burst into shards in his hand. ?I swear if I ever seen Sephiroth and indifference again, I?m going to kill them, no questions, no charges, no jury of their peers.? Gavin saw something in the commander?s eyes at the mention of Sephiroth and indifference, something that was almost apologetic. ?Is there something you need to tell me my friend ?? It was Grape Ape?s turn to sigh. Even before his time with the terrorists, when he?d been a young agent, Gavin had been quick to make snap judgements, if getting a confession meant beating a suspect he?d done it, and never apologised afterwards. ?The ends justify the means? he?d always said. He was either very good, or very lucky in that his judgements were usually the right ones. ?It?s about indifference Gavin...? But something had already caught the Irishman?s eye and he was making a bee-line across the hall, his target obscured from Josh?s sight, but he?d already figured out who that was. ?GAVIN STOP !!? There was a scream and Josh saw Gavin pinning Crystia against the wall by her throat, reaching for his gun. She could see the absolute hatred in his eyes, the same fanatic sheen they had both seen in so many of their previous colleagues. He looked back at the commander his eyes wide with desperation. "Why Grape ? She's a terrorist ! I don't know what kind of promises she'd made to get to walk around CTU HQ, but she can't provide us with any new intel that I don't already have.? He turned back to face but his spare hand was still lingering near his weapon. ?She?s the very one who blew my cover with the terrorists ! I don?t how they figured out it was me, as I certainly didn?t forget to log out of OB after I made my reports. If I?d been killed, do you think she?d have turned up here ?! He felt Josh?s large hand on his shoulder and heard just a whisper. ?Let her down Gavin.? His grip slackened and Crystia fell to the ground looking between both men. Gavin?s shoulders sagged. ?I?m sorry Grape... I don?t know what happened, it was as if someone flicked a switch and I was back with her and the terrorists again. He looked back down at Crystia allowed a single sentence to escape his pursed lips. ?I?ll be watching you.? ||||||||||| I suppose it?s obvious at this point Agent Gavin is not a nice person.

Well, well, I'd say the game is up for me in the Terrorists though I would like to thank Nomura for masterfully taking every jot of suspicion on to himself for this. It's definitely been fun and I hope my new team are as much fun to work with as you guys were. I've been away until yesterday because I was involved in a car crash on last Saturday and only got out of hospital on Monday after observation. I'm mostly fine with just a few bruised muscles that require some physio, I felt you deserved an explanation as a team.

Shame, I was actually really excited when I saw the name pop up in that OBT game thread. By the way major talking point/spoiler about the new Star Wars Legacy book.
MARA JADE DIES.

Good chapter, wish I could write at that kind of speed. Sella seems to be just getting closer and closer, and I have the odd feeling the Irishman is going to be her first victim. Oh well. One little thing honey... why does Gavin bunk with Andrew (No offence bro) ? Has he done something to annoy Raiha lately that they don't share a room despite a three year relationship ?
Well, Gavin, I hear that when Dagger was hired as an admin, this is how it went down. The one I call "Honey dearest".
?Creepy. What does the bitch do, go around ruining people?s lives?? ?Sounds like something a monster would do.?
Good lines, simply but really that is all a monster does. We need to add Jamie into this somehow that fits her in as our daughter, maybe you get pregnant, it's super quick and Sella steals her away from us returning her as a young adult with nothing but vengeance on her mind... Or maybe something else. BTW what are the sleeping arrangements like ? After the gay comment between Warlock and Neil I'm kinda curious.

The Irishman picked his way through their Spartan underground facility, a place he had spent many fervent hours in prayer to overcome the OBCTU with God's aid. Unlike the mostly Islamic ethos of his allies, Gavin was staunchly Roman Catholic, a fact made overtly obvious by the rosary beads laid respectfully around his neck and, if disrobed, the scars of corporal mortification that covered his back. His stationing outside of the main base had been met with little resistance, he preferred to be abroad among the infidels, where-in he might discover new targets and weaknesses in their armour. His exquisitely tailored suit stood out against the mostly ragged clothing of his fellow freedom fighters, but such garb was necessary to blend into the high society of those who would soon kneel before them in penitence. Although in appearance Gavin would not have posed a significant military presence, his capabilities in diplomacy and linguistics as well as human psychology, which was used mostly in torture and interrogation made him a priority target for CTU, he also dealt with financing their movement, for as deep as his spiritual strength was, it did not pay for their recently disarmed nuclear arsenal. Outside the entrance to Charles' main chamber he was stopped by a very familiar face. "Late is the hour, and yet the prodigal child returns to his Father's house." "Prodigal perhaps in that I am required to spend such time among the infidels, but the cross that hangs over my beating heart is ever true. It is of course very good to see you again Michael." The two men embraced, Gavin being the one to induct Michael into the organisation as well as supervise his training. The were brothers who had would willingly die for one another as well as the cause. "I need to speak with him. And I've heard we've had internal problems." "I will allow Charles to discuss the matter in full. Wait for him in the chamber, he will be with you soon." "Peace be with you brother." "Wa alaikum assalam."

Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't the solution to Des' transcendant testes be to get a woman with a sexual prowess and post count unrivalled to do the job ? That or we could ask Shinmaru how he survived all those years of getting kicked down below when he was Des' nad-bítch.

Heh, well if someone wants to use the Naps behind the flag picture as another caption then that's fair enough. I was away during the whole "Naps the Cat" thing.
-
I'm glad that so many people picked up on the Naps the Cat theme. But there can be only one winner, and that's Rachmaninoff, that line fitted so perfectly with the picture. OK Rach take it away.

I can't wait to see where you go with this fight honey, though I'm sure it'll be good.

I support our glorious leader in his attempts to create a Manga which will truly glorify our campaign to overcome the infidel scum and their attempts to coerce us all into accepting an OtakuBoards where fun is non-existant, that and I'd like to see all the pretty pictures...

If Alex is back, then we're in for some major fun, and CTU are going to regret the day they ever donned that title. BTW anyone want to take a crack at an IRA/Gerry Adams banner for me ?

Like my dear wife I look forward to the next Transformers movie with the same anticipation I looked forward to the first one. Hopefully Michael Bay won't make a complete mess of it. Apparently when my little brother who's eighteen today was quite a bit younger, about two or three years old he enjoyed eating coal. One of my own earliest memories is a black mouthed, nine-chinned [he drank a lot of milk] brick red monster chasing me over any little thing. DURKA DURKA MOHAMMAD JIHAD. CTU SUCKS *** !! Like hell I'm giving out one of my own embarassing memories... oh wait I think I just did...

Agreed, co-ordinated mass strikes will have a far greater effect than a few loose attacks. I wonder how many FBI/CIA/NSA internet alerts we've tripped with this game...

I think the prospect of codenames isn't a bad idea, but we should circulate them via PM so that the filthy infidels won't know who we're talking about. DURKA DURKA MOHAMMAD JIHAD.
