I've never eaten alligator meat but I've eaten shark and squid or flake and calamari to give the proper names. Squid which I originally thought would be horrible actually turned out to be very tasty and I ate it more than a few times, though if it wasn't cooked right (about 30 sec on a very high heat) it can be quite tough. I've eaten rabbit too, though I didn't realise it was rabbit at the time.

Thanks for the vote. Given recent events this seems to be a fair candidate.
That's the thing, Gavin,
'cause these "pieces of eight" trinkets were passed down from a Captain to another Captain and whoever had it was captain of the ship. But Jack still had his even though he was marooned. Also, Barbossa would've had to have been captain of another ship at some other point to have his "eye" so... [/spoiler']it confuses me as well.
Yeah that's what I meant. It just seemed a very confusing way to tie up a few plots pieces. [Edit] Wiki has some info on this.
Pirate Lords
Just out of curiousity
who here would have voted for Jack's dad to be Pirate King ?

1] Despite the fact there may be ways around it, I think the idea of restricting new members from posting threads would actually be a very positive thing. Sure it's only a stop-gap measure until OB:E but still it's better than nothing. OOC how many posts are needed now to get to Member status ? 2] To be honest AM, I'd rather get a short "Happy Birthday" PM from a friend when I log on to OB than just find a generic email sitting in my inbox. There's just something a little too impersonal about it for me. Maybe instead the "Today's Birthdays" section could be revamped a bit, removing inactive members and made to look a bit more eye-catching. Just a thought. 3] I'd genuinely like to see this one work, but out of prior experience I think you need a really dedicated team to get the newspaper ready with all the articles submitted on time. The big problem I found when I was writing about the Arena was that either one week things moved really slowly and I ended up only writing about two or three threads or it was really busy and it was a line about seven or eight threads. A way to handle this might be to have rotating writers, say three for each topic that would go one after another depending on the issue time [a week, a fortnight etc] and that way if someone is busy there's someone to take over. As well as that it needs to have more than just "These topics are teh sex, go look now." Maybe have a few articles on members, a piece of site history on an old member or topic [sort of like Otakupedia], just flesh it out a bit.
...Oh, sure, cut his tail off four posts into it. Thank you for making me an invalid.

Oh don't come crying to me, blame Connor, all his idea. Vegeta and Gohan managed. And you never know, it'll probably come right back.[/font']
I would make some cutting remark at you Neil, but chances are then D'Ann would cut off something more important than Gavin's tail. Good chapter honey, post the next soon. Maybe have a bit of sparring over our adrenaline pumping.
that's because he's NOT AN ACTOR (or a director). he is the CREATOR of Spiderman (and Hulk etc...in which he cameoed with Lou Farigno (sp?), the ORIGINAL Hulk). with out him...the movie wouldn't even exist. when Stan Lee (finally) agreed to let his comic books be made into movies, he said 'sure and i want to be in them !' who's going to argue with the CREATOR of Spiderman...and tell him he can't be in HIS OWN MOVIES...it's not like he takes anything AWAY from the movie...and die hard fans LOVE to see him in them. i apologize, but your comment just rubbed me the wrong way. i'm not usually one to 'argue' over such trivial things, but i am a HUGE fan - of both Spiderman AND Stan Lee...
Actually Stan doesn't own the rights to the movies, those are held by the studio, so technically all he is an executive producer on an adaptation of his own work, however that's not the issue. My point remains that I genuinely have nothing against Stan Lee being in Spiderman or Hulk or anything, but that that scene just sucked because he can't act and I'm sorry if it rubs you the wrong way RW but it's still true.
For your convenience, John, my friend,
after the credits, it shows Elizabeth's island ten years later with her son looking out toward the sunset where a flash of green light occurs, then it shows Will returning to her on his ship just as he promised. That's all
:']
Well now
I imagine father's day must be of great enjoyment in that family. Oh well, at least Jack and the boy have something in common. I loved that "How's mum ?" line.

My question is, why was
Barbossa one of the Pirate Lord Captain things? I thought he wasn't in command before they marooned Jack...
-r2

One of the 9 Pirate Lords, and actually I'd also like to know how that's possible. I can't imagine one PL serving under another, unless of course Barbossa got his title after he marooned Jack from another Lord.

I got the PC version a while ago, and I have to say like you James I'm pretty damn impressed with the end result, aside from the cheesy cut-scenes and the irritation of being unable to patch the game directly with the Update function [had to do it through FileFront]. I've just been introduced to the Scrin in the GDI campaign and am about half-way there I think in the Nod campaign. One little thing though that really bugs me at this point in the strength of the GDI Commando unit, which to me seems really underpowered as compared to other units. I don't know how many times I've expended the 2000 whatevers needed to get the unit, send him against some infantry and watch him die after a relatively short firefight. One particular mission requires you to use him to take down a particularly powerful unit and for the life of me I just can't to it.

Cool video, I'm not overly mad about the looks of the characters, a little too plasticine looking for my tastes but it's Star Wars which means I will eventually watch it and probably by it. That said though I've already got the Animated Clone Wars, so this would want to be a good bit better for me to get hyped over it.
So let me get this straight... the US Departmenmt of defense thinks that Canada is plotting against us? Oh no! Fear the Canadians... yeah
The plot of South Park the Movie grows ever more realistic... -
Tell that to the Trekkies. :p ~Dagger~

Ah, yes, there have always been the Star Wars fans and the Trekkies, but they were much more of a niche thing. There have only recently been a whole ton of hardcore nerds and they are much more openly so. Plus they fit into more categories than just a movie/tv show fan.
Recent ? Are you kidding ? Star Wars and Star Trek have had their legions of hardcore fans since the late 70s. Seriously, go to a convention for one and I guarantee you that a lot of the people walking around in Jedi robes or Klingon foreheads are going to be in their thirties and older. Maybe it's become more socially acceptable to be a Trekkie, but that doesn't mean they weren't there in huge numbers.

Just got back from it a while ago and I have to admit I'm quite disappointed with the film, the plotline was for the most part predictable, and despite the fact there were a few interesting twists and turns along the way the whole thing ended up pretty much as I thought it would. It's late so I'm going to be brief, this latest instalment relied far too heavily on CGI effects and actors Bill Nighy and Geoffrey Rush to provide solid performances. Kiera Knightley it seems milked the fact this was her last film as much as possible as there was scarcely a segment to the film that she not directly, dare I say dominantly participate in. Johnny Depp who really made the first film a hit with his irrepressible behaviour seemed frankly limited to comic relief far too often and had no real presence in the film aside from the odd bit of intrigue and double dealing. I realise he was dead and all but still his performance still left a lot of be desired. Keith Richards rocked, that's all I can say. He was the coolest pirate of them all and should definitely have been the Pirate King as opposed to
Elizabeth
. The relatively early
deaths of Admiral Norington and Governor Swan also seemed unnecessary, hell they themselves were unnecessary for the most part.
Overall I'd have the give the film a max of 7/10. It was OK but not a film I'd go back to the cinema to see.
(especially after the scene that's at the end of the credits).[/FONT']
How do I always manage to miss stuff like that ? Oh well.
Sadly, no. I'm not all that into nicknames for my pokemons I normally only name my starter.[/COLOR']
Heh, if give one a nickname I tend to feel somehow obligated to give the rest of them clever nicknames.
I was quoting it as a good thing. No more "smoking or non-smoking, sir?"
Ah fair enough, glad to see I'm not the only one who believes the smoking bans are good things.

Great addition, I can just imagine the fun a full moon will bring on.

I've not even heard a peep about this film, which is odd seeing as they advertised the hell out of the last one. I'll just go and look at a trailer on YouTube, God bless broadband... ...Great trailer and apparently it's on in the cinema tonight. Off we go then. On a side note the plot reminds me a lot of the last Monkey Island game.

This thread should definitely be moved to Group Sounds where we can properly ridicule what's occurred here. In all seriousness though, it seems this whole thing could have been avoid if one of said contractors happened to bring said coin into a bank and say something slightly less stupid sounding than "Does this coin look right to you ?". -
Oooh a completely pointless move by censors, doesn't it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Seriously I get the whole ?children see cool people in movies smoking and want to do it too? argument but anyone who comes from a family of smokers sees the real effects, cancer etc.
On a related note, every enclosed space in England is going smoke-free in the next couple of months. That[/b'] will discourage smoking, when you have to excuse yourself to go stand in the rain if you want to do it.
Yeah you can blame that one on us Raiyuu, and really it?s not as bad as it sounds. If you?re a non-smoker you can just sit and enjoy a drink with your non-smoking friends while laughing at people you know stuck out in the rain.

1. Do You Eat Lunch? If so, how do you usually procure it? I take food out of the fridge in the morning, and combine it into a structure called a sandwich. 2. What did you eat for lunch today? Nothing yet as it's not lunch time. 3. Do you plan ahead for lunch on further days? I eat the same lunch every week day, so whether that's planning or repetitivity I'm not sure. 4. Have you ever had a lunch date? How did it go? Yes. To quote Dead it went well.

Congrats Roxy, sounds like it was a heck of a lot of fun, and whoever had the idea to hold nationals in Hawaii has definitely been taking their vitamins.
