It wasn't actually a 'sayian name' more of a Saiyuki name aka Journey to The West but yes they are based off the same thing. Ugh I haven't been able to play in a while since...well...I lost my DS. Yeah I'm a loser.
I thought so, I meant to say DBZ, as Kakarott would actually be his Saiyan name. Any other 'mon of yours have a Journey to the West name ?
But his power level is over 9000!! Anyhow, is anyone ready for a tourney yet?
Bah Vegeta will always be stronger... he was just uhhh... pretending >_>
Infernape AKA Goku- 38[/SIZE']
I'm glad I'm not the only one giving a Saiyan name to that Pokémon.
  3. Hero: Goku [Dragonball/Z/GT] An obvious choice seeing as he's portrayed as being the essence of valour and chivalry, offering mercy to all his enemies no matter how evil. I picked Goku because he is overly perfect in a lot of ways that really define a hero, he's driven by compassion and loyalty, throws himself in harms way for his friends and strangers, even after dying he fights for his world because it's the kind of guy he is. Anti-hero: Vegeta [Dragonball Z/GT] My personal favourite character simply because he actually chooses to become "good" to a greater extent of his own accord rather than Goku's bump on the head conversion. He's underused in the series but still a great character when you get down to it because he's not perfect or saintly.
  4.
[B']Has there ever been a time in your life where your world has fallen apart?
Yes.
[B']How did you deal with it?
In a word: badly. I isolated myself from friends and family for months, dropped out of high school and generally made **** of my life. On the plus side it did give me a lot of perspective and a chance to get to see how the world really operates for those in low paid jobs. I'm not familiar with the American university system Minako so I can't really offer you any solid advice other than to try and improve your grades.
  5. Washing the boss' car Exactly what it sounds like. One day on my last job, for which I was hired to help paint a large Georgian house I was asked out of the blue to wash down his car because it had gotten a bit dusty from the gravel driveway. I think it may have been in response to the fact that I was involved with his daughter at the time.
  6. Anyone who think I'm only posting positively about this because I'm in it is dead wrong, actually it's because it's DBZ-inspired and quite well written by my beloved wife. All joking aside, I really want to see where you go with this over the course of events D'Ann.

    The Sleepers

Suppose it was time I joined this little soiree. The Jade Palace. One could possibly finder a great collection of high class whores here than in New Amsterdam's Red Light district. Still it didn't matter, he wasn't here to indulge his sexual appetites, this kill would have a destabilising effect on the entire alliance process being negotiated between the once embittered Brotherhoods, after that it would simply be a mop-up exercise for the FBI, with a few summary executions no doubt. Infiltrating the Scarlet Mistresses personal quarters might have proven difficult, but The Raven was anything if not resourceful, and the Brotherhood had made a startling error in judgement by having such weak defences positioned within the heart of their operations. It was late, nearly midnight by and the darkness would give rise to less complications than a daylight hit. He braced himself, stretching out his muscles before the whoosh of air currents above San Francisco enveloped the chopper. It's rotors created next to no noise, and a carbon composite exterior made it invisible to radar, it would be a simple jump, and with any luck the kill would be made without anyone suspecting his involvement. "Ready to drop ?" "Yes." One word. After it he threw himself out of the hovering air-vehicle and catapulted down through the California night sky, he watched as the entire city, driven through it's lights buzzed with a living quality, on any other night it might have been pleasant to watch, but right now it wasn't something he could be distracted by. The Brotherhood's compound grew in size with every second, the rip-cord of his chute was gripped in his left hand... just a few more seconds until he reached the correct altitude. The parachute deployed perfectly, hours and hours of training had built up enough muscle memory that he nearly hadn't realised he'd pulled the cord. The glide down was uneventful, only a pair of sentries eying the main gate, each of which was probably from one of the Brotherhoods, he adjusted his trajectory to sweep past them without alerting their attention, it was too easy, the paranoia in the back of his mind crept slowly into conscious thought. Raven willed it back down, he would deal with paranoia later, probably when a hail of bullets was whizzing over his skull. Impacting silently against the roof of the Scarlet Mistress' quarters, the agent undid each of the buckles which had kept him from plummeting to the group like a stone. There was only a single skylight overlooking what at first glace might have been a harem, but with a single stately bath large enough to accommodate several clients it seemed he had dropped right in on the Scarlet Mistress's own private retreat. Removing a tool from the carefully secured backpack slung over his shoulder, he cut effortlessly through the glass before descending into the empty room. It was luxuriously decorated, anciently styled and yet filled with cutting-edge conveniences, it seemed to perfectly sum up a woman who's business was as much information gathering as pleasuring wealthy young men. He surreptitiously surveyed the chamber for any signs of movement, there weren't any, that paranoid feeling simply refused to go away screaming "TOO EASY" into every conscious thought. The odds of the Mistress having guards here was minimal, his beat option was to simply wait for her to arrive, seduce her and then terminate her according to contract, apparently her services were no longer available but he was confident he could overcome that particular barrier. Stripping out of his infiltration suit, he wrapped himself in a silk robe and merely waited. Alright I know I was supposed to finish this with a murder but my mind is really out of whack tonight. For however is going to discover her, the Scarlet Mistress will be found death in her bath, a single, small slit across her jugular that is delicately wrapped in a silken scarf. Again sorry, hopefully the death scene will be better.
  8. [EDIT] After a bit of a chat with my darling wife, I've decided to completely rewrite my character to something a little more ethereal. Name: CLASSIFIED Gender: Male Organization Nickname: [The] Raven Age: Appearance indicates early to mid 20s. Chinese Zodiac Sign: Rat Organization of Choice: Federal Bureau of Investigation Function: Special Agent Appearance: The Raven. FBI training of the late 21st century has centred around one simple precept: deception, and as such it's special agents are conditioned to appear far physically weaker than is actually the case. Raven, despite appearing to be somewhat lanky and underdeveloped is more than capable of holding his own against and opponent of significantly greater frame and strength, though FBI training is geared more towards silent elimination than direct physical confrontation. As such, Raven will never allow his face to be seen, even in direct contact with others i.e. he will hide in shadows or use voice-only methods of communication. Weapon of Choice: Variety of covert weapons depending on mission requirements, including small arms and long range rifles. Also trained in a selection of close-quarters-combat and hand-to-hand styles as well as silent assassination methods, such as garrotte wire and knives. Biography: CLASSIFIED Personality: Cool and entirely calculating, if compared to a weapon, The Raven would be a scalpel, used for the surgical termination of threats to the United States federal government. One would however be wrong if they were to think The Raven is something of an automaton as this couldn't be further from the truth. Special Agents are trained to operate nearly independently after they've been given their orders, which will be completely at any cost in a variety of creative manners. In person, Raven is charming, sophisticated and definitely alluring.
  9. I'll probably only read the book to find out what's happened and who does eventually bite it. Like Dagger I'm pretty sure it's going to be an all-nigher as I'm just that way with books and I'll have to either pull the "Gift for younger sibling" line or get a minion to purchase it.
  10. Thanks Andy. Well like my friend I saw Spider Man 3 last night, and I must admit while I enjoyed the film, I was disappointed it wasn't quite as good as the second film was. The Spider Man series was great because unlike other Marvel movie releases it didn't rely on the visuals to make up for the often mediocre story. Unfortunately for me Spider Man 3 just wasn't as slick as the preceding film, there were too many plots and subplots, which weren't weaved together all that well and took too long to address. Really there was potential there for two films, a Spidey/Venom one and a Spidey/Goblin one with Sandman appearing as a sub-plot somewhere in either of them. There were only two parts that really bothered me about the whole film. 1] Peter Parker
gets his black suit and goes EMO: I think every genuine Spider Man fan was horrified for those minutes where instead of becoming more tangibly evil, Peter just starts dressing in black and goes to jazz clubs.
It just seemed so... God I can't even find words to properly describe it...nauseatingly false comes close but not close enough. 2] Mary Jane Watson: I like MJ, and I like Kirsten Dunst, the latter being one of the first women in cinema I was actually attracted to when I was a kid and saw Small Soldiers. But in Spider Man, MJ just irritated the hell out of me, and I don?t know whether to blame the writing or the directing, or Ms. Dunst herself.
She just seemed, to me at least, to demand that Peter make her the absolute centre of his world, that he pursue her happiness before his own, and God love him if he voiced that he actually knew what it felt like to have one critic say nasty things about you. It was such a turn-around from Spider Man 2, where she simply accepted that he had to do what he had to do. In fact I might go as far to say she seemed like a spoiled brat in the early segment of the film.
Now that?s all I didn?t like, the rest I really did enjoy. The visuals were absolutely stunning, if not for the often fantastic nature of the acrobatics you?d scarcely know there was any CGI it was so well integrated. I can?t imagine what kind of training Maguire had to go through to get fit enough to wear that suit, but fair play to him. A lot of people didn?t like the character, but I think Thomas Haden Church did a simply excellent job as Sandman, easily the most human villain of them all. A refreshing touch was that Marko wasn?t just the typical super-villain but rather remained driven by a very human desire, and
genuinely regretted the one truly evil act he had ever committed, even if it was an accident.

New Goblin?s return at the end was just great, I really am a sucker for friendships being rebuilt and I was very pleased that Harry was able to overlook his hatred and come to the aid of his friends. I was gutted when he was killed in the end, I knew it was coming, he had to die after all that had happened, but still it was something I felt really annoyed by because he was so cool, anti-heroes are always more interesting than their pure counterparts.
All in all I?ve give the film about a 7, it has great potential that just isn?t realised through some segments of the script, an overflow of plots and characters that aren?t properly integrated until the end and the morality tale of ?vengeance getting you nowhere? was far too obvious throughout. On the up side, the visuals are excellent, the acting is mostly top class and you will enjoy the end, that?s guaranteed.
so why WOULDN'T they want a comic icon such as Stan Lee to make a cameo.
Maybe because he can't act. I've nothing against directors making cameos in their movies, so long as they don't go whole hog about it, Stan's appearance was very artificial in nature and unnecessary. "Seems one person can make a difference..." should have been followed by the line "so long as he's got freakin' super-powers."
  11. Get a boxing bag and a pair of gloves, beat the thing until you can't lift your arms and I guarantee you'll feel better. Bottling anger is the worst possible thing that can be done, as you are nearly certain to vent it at people who did nothing to deserve an outburst.
  12.
Alan is correct. People have pretty much always sucked.
I'd tend to agree with that statement Mike, the fact as Alan pointed out is that humanity has become a lot closer in the last few decades than it ever was before. We've gotten worse ? The last major war involving Western powers has not lead to the deaths of fifty million people and the use of nuclear weapons as the case sixty-five years ago. As for the environment, I'd love to send a few eco-warriors back to England in the Industrial Revolution and just watch their reactions as the damage occurring there.
  13.
Gavin reminded me, one problem I get is what I call the "K name syndrome" where I say my name and people interpret it as a wide range of other K-names before deciding I said "Kenneth". I'm not sure if my name is that flexible or if people need to get their hearing checked.
I've had the same problem, any name beginning with "G" and being roughly five to six letters long is an acceptable substitute for mine. Gareth, Gary, Graham, etc being the worst offenders.
  14. Gavin. I really can't understand why such a simple name gets screwed up so often. Think of any name beginning with G and chances are I've been called it, not helped by the fact my middle name is Gerard after my dad, so I get called Gerry or Gary on ocassion too. A recent name screw-up came with our substitute Chemistry teacher, Mr. Herbert, as is standard practice he asked for people's names at the start of class. He got to me fourth and that's when trouble began. "Name" "Gavin" "Kevin ?" "No. Gavin." "Calvin ?" "GA-vin" "Sorry ?" "G.A.V.I.N." "Are you making this up ?" "..." *Shakes head*

I'll probably end up ordering a copy from the States, waiting another month and a half to play the game in English is ridiculous. They really should just ship the games over to Ireland and the UK at the same time as the US. I'm still not sure who I'm going to start off with, the flaming monkey has actually managed to earn his way back into the race after copious amounts of DBGT over the Easter.
  16. Nice article on Legionnaires Josh, as a group RPG it was audacious and really does deserve to be remembered for all the work you put into it. It'd be great to give it another whirl, maybe on a smaller scale.
  17.
I like black cotton socks, can't ever go wrong with it, comfortable and goes with almost anything!
Nothing to add to that. That said, I've a pair of gold coloured silk socks I got in Australia last year that pwn all the other pairs in my drawer. They're so damn comfortable it's wrong. Good to see a few more Oldies are making their return.
  18. Sounds good, vampire RPGs never seem to get anywhere on OB but hopefully this will be the exception to that rule.
  19.
I prefer blackjack, just for fun. I have too many people around me, who I don't want anything to do with, who play poker. A game of poker isn't horrible, but ruining it for everyone who's cool by hyping it this much, that's horrible.
I can definitely understand that. I enjoy watching poker tournaments even more than playing the game, probably because I get absolutely dire hands most of the time. The sheer suspense and strategy is what keeps me glued.
Your latest post I have to agree with, though.
It has to be most annoying thing ever.
  20.
I mentioned in the post; if I didn't know for sure that they were the same person, I didn't try to figure it out. I suspected both Chaos and Yoda of having those alternate names (and I also suspect AnimeLover to be Mitch), but I wasn't sure. However, I had already determined Manic, and pretty much the rest I knew personally. Although I did forget to add all of Zeh's alternate names; Tasis, Cloud, and Trunks.
My bad, I seem to have missed that in the original post.
  21. People leaving only a tiny, tiny bit of milk in the carton and putting it back in the fridge. This works with other daily required consumables too.
  22. @ Nerdsy Just something that struck me as I was reading it, in some cases you have Moderators with username changes included as one staff member Manic/Shy/Tony etc and in other cases you have them separate Chaos/Medra and Yoda/SS Trunks. Was that intentional ? If not please don't hurt me...
  23.

I don't like poker and the hype around it.
There are plenty of other things, but I felt like writing these down.
And here I thought you were cool Boo... ;)
  24. I think I'll join Sara. Seriously, it feels like the last four and a bit years haven't happened and I'm back just waiting in hyper anticipation for Flash and Warlock's latest work. If Neil, Warwick, D'Ann and Craig come back, Andrew and I might be able to relive some of those old DBZ RPGs.
  25. Bah, I could've even tell you what saga of DBZ #8 is taken from.
