1.
This thread has caught my interest, and I was wondering if I could play the part of Frieza and Zarbon/Dodoria? I am a die hard DBZ fan and your thread caught my interest. I would've wanted to be Burter, but he's under Ginyu force, and that's taken.
Given that I haven't seen anything by you Mystic Ninja, I'm going to ask for a sample post from you to gauge whether or not you've got the level of quality required for this project. If I'm happy with it, then I have no problem with you taking Frieza.
  2. Interesting, most interesting. Normal Coke for me, Pepsi and all those wannabe Cokes just don't live up to the big CC's flavour for me. Aside from Coke, normal Fanta and Irish orange soda Club Orange are good with most meals or popcorn, though I wouldn't drink them on their own. Vanilla Coke was too vanilla-ey for me, it just went way beyond the sweet-tolerance barrier, about a third of the amount and it would have been a great alternative but as it was, way too sweet. Worst soda I've ever had, that one's too easy, Diet Caffeine Free Coke, if you want Coke like that, get mud, mix it in with water and drink it.
I have about as much sympathy for you as I do Irish Dasani[/url'] junkies.
Carcinagenic ? We dodged a bullet there. Though seeing as I also dislike Deep River Rock, perhaps there's a connection...
  3. Interesting, most interesting. Well I'm currently on my first mortgage and in debt to Nook for about 6,400 bells, which after two hours of gameplay seems to be a fairly decent little chunk to have taken out from 18,800. That said, I've pretty much picked every piece of fruit [Cherries in my case], every flower and collected every shell I can find. Hopefully my new shovel and fishing rod will add a bit more cash to my inventory.
  4. Interesting, most interesting. Just picked up a DS Lite today after being driven to it reading other people's comments, that and my SP has started to dead-pixel so it had to go sadly. Generally I've very, very impressed, I'd always though the DS was a kind of spin-off to the GBA, but this seems to be a direct sequel without the GB name. The graphics are stunning in Animal Crossing, and the crispness of the colour is something I really wasn't expecting. The only thing that bugs me slightly is that my battery seemed to need charging after less than two hours of play, something my SP never does, even after all this time. Overall though I think this was certainly worth the cash I parted with for it.
White DS Lite, all the way.
Quoted for truth. White DS Lite pwns the black one.
  5. Interesting, most interesting. Just a quick question before I sign up Phil, will this be a first come first serve sign up, where once a role has been picked and been given a full sign up, it can't be chosen ? Or are they all open until you make your final selection ?
  6.
#3 [i]
A, AB, AN, BA, CG, CS MS, CN, F, FGM, G, G, I, LC, LSU, MSS, PL, S, T, TNR, T MS, V. Each "code" is an acronym for every font on Otakuboards. For instance A is Arial, where as AB is Arial Black. I repeat, a most challenging riddle.
  7. I love the Hooters bit from the Wiki article, funniest thing I've read in a while.
  8. Interesting, most interesting. Thanks Corey, I should have known a fellow Irishman would find this as funny as I did. Seeing as so many people across the world try to do Irish and fail miserably, do we or our descendants get mad and say that people are bastardising our culture ? No, we laugh about it among ourselves and think how silly people are to still believe in leprechauns, that Irish people still live in thatched houses and all have red hair. This Jenn needs to seriously get some perspective on the world and other cultures before she can go off and make dumbass statements like that one. As James pointed out, she's angry with self professed Asia-experts when she has little grasp of her own history... all the way from Canada. The world is getting smaller and smaller, it?s only natural that people will find things among other cultures they find interesting, people should be flattered when another culture takes on some of their traits, and not go all bitchy and aggressive. That said, some of the more extreme ?asiaphiles? scare me with their extremism, this of course coming from a devout Star Wars freak lacks impact however. Though I would pay money to see Papa choke all the cosplayers as Darth Vader.
  9.
What are they proud of? Being fully caucasian? This only displays their ignorance. Prussia and Germany (at least to my white, guilt-ridden, media-brainwashed, half-a-mind) is dangerously close to Hungary, if not right next to it. Interesting. But to my knowledge, Hungary was composed of the descendants of Huns, who were...Asian?[/COLOR']
Heh Farto, to really annoy the little skinheads, Prussia, their Aryan heartland now lies within Poland's borders, outside of German influence. So really the Nazi Olsen Twins should be singing songs about Poland being rebuilt after the Nazi invasion and the Soviet assaults against the German lines. Still though, given most Neo-Nazi's skewed views on history, most don't realise the geographical changes in Europe after WWII. As for the Hungary bit, a lot of Eastern Europe would have people of West Asian descent from centuries back, of course the fact that it was 1200 years ago, and that Asia is a rather loose term to describe a huge continent, means that there wouldn't be significant differences now between Western and Eastern European.

    Shoes

Interesting, most interesting. At five pairs, I suppose I own a lot of footwear for a guy, though one are a formal pair of leather shoes which I wear only for Mass and another are for the gym, so that cuts it down to three on a regular basis. My favourites at the moment are a pair of Reebok Hexalite runners I bought out of a local sports shop a few days ago in a sale to replace a similar pair of Nikes that got covered in paint at work last week. My more usual runners, the ones I wear around the house if I'm not in my socks, are a pair of white and slate grey Nike runners I picked up before my Australia trip. They don't fit well enough to be used in the gym, but are comfortable none the less. The last are a pair of deck suede shoes I picked up for Australia too, but I use them usually for parties and so don't wear them all that often as they're not a great shoe to spent hours in. Does anyone else here have big feet, like size 12 [13 US] and find it hard to get comfortable shoes ?
  11. |Update: August 25th| Given the number of spare spots that have gone unfilled in the RPG, I'm giving players the option of taking on a secondary character. In my case, I'll be taking on the role of North Kai as well as Bardock, and White has agreed to play Piccolo as well as Nappa. Your secondary role will not require the same level of effort as the primary, but that isn't to say I will accept sloppy posts, you've all got far too much talent for that. As well as this, I've invited Neil [Chaos] for the role of Kakarott/Goku, which reunites several of the oldest DBZ RPers still frequenting OB.
  12.
Does anyone really want to read what a bunch of White guilt ridden media brainwashed half wits have to say about something they know nothing about?
I'm just wondering if we could use this exact snippet for anything that comes from Prussian Blue in relation to history or God-forbid, education. Seems to fit the bill fairly well, red-neck half-wit dumbasses with no grasp of what they're talking about. Also Red, there's not need to fly off the handle like that. This is the internet, chances are somewhere along the way someone's going to consider you a no-nothing jackass. There's no point in trying to prove them right with a tirade of abuse.
  13. SAIYAN SAGA Chapter One: Raditz Approach vector to Earth: Optimum. Estimated time of arrival: 48 Hours. Disengaging hibernation systems. If there was one thing in this universe that Bardock hated with undimmed passion, aside from Frieza and his goons of course, it was having to go into hibernation in a Saiyan pod. His legs felt stiff, the taste is his mouth was something awful and he still had two days to go before they reached Earth. That was the very last time he?d make a six month journey in one of these pods, they should have stopped for a day or so about once a month, but Bardock knew he needed to get to his son with all possible speed, he didn?t understand why, it was just another one of those feelings. Attempting to rub feeling back into his face, the Saiyan tore open one of the ration packs stored within the pod, notorious for their taste, they were made to regain energy faster than normal food and within a few mouthfuls, Bardock felt better. ?That?s it Bardock, there?s no way in hell we?re going six months in a pod again.? Toma tried to stifle a yawn but didn?t succeed, even under more usual circumstances he didn?t like pods, too small, but a six month journey would have been and nightmare for him. ?Copy that Toma. You?ve got my guarantee next time we go on a trip we?ll stop at least once a week. You awake yet Seripa ?? ?Toma?s belly-aching woke me a lot better than the pod did. I know these ration packs are supposed to be good for your Bardock, but seriously we need to get something proper once in a while.? Bardock smiled to himself, it really was bad if Seripa was complaining. Only two things ever annoyed her, her hair and bad conditions. Right now Bardock suspected she had both to deal with. ?Sorry Seripa, I think I left my wallet back on Randara Prime. When we get to Earth, I?ll have Kakarott fix us up OK ?? ?Maybe I?ll take cooking tips from his wife.? Seripa?s sarcasm came out clear over the comm system. ?Wouldn?t hurt Seripa. I think I prefer the packs to your cooking.? ?Very funny Toma.? ?I was just kidding. Relax, we?ve got two days before we hit Earth.? Toma had narrowly dodged a bullet there, Seripa might have been slightly weaker than him, but she had a mean right hook. ?There aren?t any other inhabitable planet in this system are there Bardock ?? ?Sorry Toma, nothing until we hit Earth. But from what the pod tells me, she sounds like a paradise. Lower gravity, blue skies and oceans. Green grass, not too heavily populated yet. We should even be able to blend in fairly well with the locals.? Letting out a whistle of appreciation , it seemed the Earth passed Toma?s very few requirements for a rest planet. ?Not too heavily populated ? If Kakarott?s done his job there shouldn?t be any population.? Seripa had a good point, Kakarott like hundreds of other Saiyan children were dispatched to weak planets to conquer them. But Bardock knew that the Earth would still be populated by the time they got there. ?Guess we?ll just have to hope he?s a good cook then, and that he didn?t destroy too much of the scenery.? Relaxing back into his chair, Bardock tried to grasp something of what his son would look like. It was generally true that Saiyan children took after their parents, Raditz had been an exception, a near duplicate for Bardock?s father Kurrat, though Bardock remembered his father with a full beard rather than a clean-shaved face. He?d seen visions of Kakarott, a young man in his twenties, his skin was paler than Bardock?s, and he didn?t have any scars, but otherwise they looked exactly alike. Disturbingly, he son seemed to have lost his tail, which meant he?d lost his ability to transform, Bardock had seen something else that surprised him, a grandson. He didn?t know the child?s name, but with a Saiyan tail, he had to be Kakarott?s son. "What's up Bardock ? You're gone quiet all of a sudden.? "Sorry Seripa, just doing a bit of thinking. I've only ever seen Kakarott once, just reminiscing I guess.? Toma took the opportunity to chime in his own response. "Relax Bardock. Worrying about it's going to do no good. We'll see him when we do.? Bardock sighed out, Toma was probably right. But something just didn't feel right. |||||||||| OK guys, that's the intro post for the RPG done. The cast for this chapter remains virtually unchanged from the original Saga, with the exception of Bardock's crew. Bill, Sakura and Mike will have the first few posts to tie up the Raditz/Gohan/Goku segment seeing as we've no Piccolo, Josh and Kei can also post but they won't really feature until the later Saiyan Saga. Help!
If you mean how to add a background image, go to your Edit Styles page from the Backroom and fill in the "Add A Background Image" text box with the URL of the image you want to use.[/color']
That's pretty much it. You will need to have the image hosted somewhere in order to upload it.
And when ye color yon webpage, keepst in mind that ye visitors will not be wearing lead suits to protect themselves from it (thence, hot pink goes not with forest green).
Hear ye, hear ye. Take heart [and notes] from fellow OBers MyO sites on colour and style, eventually with a bit of practice even those of us HTML-retarded will find our way.

  16.
Hey Gavin, thanks a lot. And they even have Irish Font names sweet![/color']
Heh no problem. I spent about six hours downloading fonts for graphics work and those two just happened to be in it, I actually had two other ones but I didn't think they'd suit. I'm glad you like them.
  17. http://www.officialprussianblue.net/showthread.php?t=2648 After reading Esther post I decided to try and find BEA's little OB bashing thread, but my God would that site make you wish you could just load all that Neo-Nazi scum onto a rocket and send them right into the sun. Anyway to get back, it seems BEA actually had relatively little to say about OB in his thread aside from the opening post, perhaps because our responses are generally better worded and spelled that those on the Prussian Blue site. Des, if you're reading this, this thread would make a fine article for DailyOtaku. Though perhaps it would be a little too easy.
  18.
The whole flavour from grilling (I assume you mean on a barbecue) comes from the fat. The fat drips down onto the rocks (Volcanic, charcoal, whathaveyou) and gets absorbed into the pores; the rocks get hot and the fat evaporates and goes back into the burger, thus making it taste better the more you use the barbecue. New barbecues (The ones with the metal plates instead of rocks) just don't do it for me.
No, I mean grilling in an oven. In terms of barbecue, we use a gas and coal one too, and I've always found them to taste less fatty than their pan or God-forbid deep-fat fried cousins. But as I said in my last post, I eat one maybe once a year, as if I'm going to eat ground beef, I prefer stuff like Bolognese where you're actually eating something partially good for you.
When you make a burger with no fat it tastes bland as hell and you have to smother it in ketchup to make it taste good... Hamburgers are supposed to be big, greasy monstrous lumps of meat, not health food. Either make them how they're supposed to be made or don't eat em.
That has to be the biggest load of bull, no pun intended, I've ever heard. I mean what you're literally saying is that the fat makes the taste, not the beef, if that's the case then there's absolutely no point in even grilling them. Buy a deep-fat frying, stick your burgers in there and enjoy man, because if you love fat, then you'll love it that way.
BTW, McDonald's hamburger taste like ****, which is why I don't eat them.
We agree on something at least.
  19. Great Reasons To Be A Guy... Phone Conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. Dry cleaners and hair cutters don't rob you blind. You can go to the bathroom without a support group. You can leave the motel bed unmade. You can kill your own food. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. Wedding plans take care of themselves. If someone forgets to invite you to something, he or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $10 for a three-pack. If you are 34 and single, nobody notices. Everything on your face stays its original color. You can quietly enjoy a car ride from the passenger's seat. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You don't have to clean if the meter reader is coming. Car mechanics tell you the truth. You can quietly watch a game with your buddy for hours without ever thinking: "He must be mad at me." Gray hair and wrinkles only add character. Wedding dress - $2,000. Tuxedo rental - 75 bucks. You can drop by to see a friend without bringing a little gift. If another guy shows up at the party in the same outfit, you just might become lifelong friends. Your pals will never trap you with: "So, notice anything different?" You are not expected to know the names of more than five colors. You know which way to turn a nut on a bolt. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You don't have to shave below your neck. Gas (at either end) is cool. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color, all seasons.
  20. Interesting, most interesting. I don't really bowl all that often, despite the fact there's an alley in the nearest town newly opened. Though I do find bowling with a couple of friends to be immensely fun, the vast majority of the balls are too small for my fingers, and those that aren't are often very heavy, I should probably just invest in a decent bowling ball and make life easier on myself. On that note, the Yoda ball from Starwars.com pwns. My usual score at the end of a game is somewhere in the 160/170 region, my highest has been around a 230 on a day where I was just on fire, either that or insanely lucky, either way I won ?45 in a bet so I don't really care which.
  21.
Why even bother making burgers if you're just going to suck out all the flavour like that?
Flavour ? Are you kidding me ? If you like greasy burgers just toss the meat away and drink the fat out of the pan. I personally think they taste a hell of a lot better, on the very rare occasions when I actually eat a burger, with all the fat drained out of them. Same goes for sausages, rashers [bacon to the Yanks] and fried pudding, all taste way better grilled than fried.
  22. Interesting, most interesting. While banner and avatar design wouldn't be my speciality, I took a crack at this because of the Irish thing. Surprisingly there aren't a lot of things you can do with a Tricolour, nor many decent images to use. Avatar Banner Hopefully that's all OK for you CHW. The first font is called Gaeilge1, the second is the Guiness font.
  23.
Yep in a pan.
If you can, you should have your mother move her hamburger cooking to the oven on a grilling tray, that way all the nasty liquid fat is cooked out leaving it a much healthier meal.
  24. Interesting, most interesting. Like a lot of people I was born into a practicing Roman Catholic family, although unlike a lot of people it seems, I'm still a practicing Roman Catholic now, and my faith has never been stronger. While I accept that others will have a different view of what God is, what His Church should believe in and how it's run, for me the Vatican, the Holy Father and the clergy are the way to go. To use an analogy, to read the Bible without being trained to do so is a lot like reading a Shakespeare play off the bat, you'll figure it out eventually, but you mightn't get the right interpretation. While some people have problems with the Church's stance on things like homosexual marriage and abortion, I support both wholeheartedly, but God gave Man the burden of choice and it's up to everyone to decide for themselves what they believe in. So that's me, the 100% Roman Catholic Irishman, continuing the stereotype.
You obviously have never seen a Same sex marriage thread get started on this board have you? [/color']
Quoted for truth. That and abortion are by far the worst threads for flaming.
  25. I know you can't ever stop playing The Game in reality, but I'm going to stop playing it here on OtakuBoards as far as posting goes. Originally it was a bit of fun, but now it's bordering on psychologically detrimental, entire trips to OB are done so with the mission of avoiding anything that resembles The Game or will steer thought patterns towards it. So, I'm out. Therefore I win.
