Lost again, saw Alannie's response in the Index and that made me think about The Game, which means I've probably just done the same to someone else. Sorry in advance to him/her.

Starting Point: Hyrule or Mushroom Kingdom. Like DeadSeraphim, I haven't played the other games, so it only makes sense to go for either of these. Why?: I really didn't expect answering this to prove quite so difficult as it did. As for the why, well in the end I suppose it's best broken down to the facts that I'm an accomplished role-player here on the Boards and this project has quite literally captured my imagination with it's truly wonderful music and story. RP Sample: Couldn't find any Mario of Legend of Zelda samples to use, so I went with the most recent fantasy setting RPG I've taken part in, Lan's Delta Rebellion.
Melchior continued to merely stare out at the bay, having already removed his sunglasses and tossed them back into his pack, sometimes he wondered how he'd ended up with such an immature team. He sighed out, Giga Omega Ki was one of, if not the strongest teams in all of Delta and yet sometimes they could act like complete children, it was frustrating to say the least. However Boushin was right, Melchior had felt something although he had not said it to the rest of the team, he didn't want to worry them with unnecessary baggage. He was surprised that Talia hadn't felt anything, but she was still young yet, only a Level 2 Paladin, and her power would grow as the months passed, of all the team members he enjoyed her company the most, perhaps because they shared the same class and thus were alike in persona. ?Alright Team, let's move out, it's getting late here and we're all due a good nights sleep. We're only a few minutes out from Giga's guild house, and I'll be the first to admit I'd like a warm bed more than many things at the moment.? The rest of the team nodded in agreement, it was getting late and the First District of Elysium could turn quite cold when it wanted to. The guild houses had been established soon after Callipso had gone missing, as a way for wandering teams to be able to find rest when they needed it without having to part with their money. Giga?s house had been located in Elysium, something Melchior had been thankful for, it was a pain to have to crash in another teams guild house, as it inevitably lead to a favour being owed. The red brick building came into full view after a few minutes of walking, Melchior exhaled gratefully before realising they had no groceries at the house. ?What?s wrong Melchior ?? They question had come from Talia, a measure of concern on her soft face. The same question was poised on the other team members lips but Talia had beaten them to the punch. ?Team Gamma Tau Epsilon stayed here a few days ago and I don?t think they replaced the groceries they used up, you three go ahead, I?ll get some food for tonight and tomorrow and be back. Just have the heat on, my bones are freezing.?. Boushin remained stone stiff, his way of asking if Melchior needed a hand, after all the longer it took for the Level 4 Paladin to get the food, the longer it was before they ate. ?Go on before I demote you all down a rank.? Talia turned to Xavier ?Can he do that ?? The old mage shook his head. ?Doesn?t matter to me, I?m still level one, he can?t demote me lower. Besides I don?t think even Melchior has that kind of authority.? The Paladin sighed again, sometimes his team?s loyalty would royally irritate him, oh well, there was no point in arguing with them further and the shop was only a hundred or so meters down from the house. The owner was an ex-adventurer who knew exactly how important a full stomach was to the completion of a quest, Tugo had been one of the senior members of the team Melchior started out on, and never failed to give him sagely advice. The shop was styled similar to the surrounding building, but Tugo was there, as always with a newspaper in his hand and a smile on his face. ?Seems you?re in the paper again Melchior, you and your team took care of some bandits way out from the city. Whatever happened to that cocky young Paladin who wanted to go after dragons and other high difficulty level monsters ?? Melchior?s cheeks began to redden, the rest of the team stared at him with disbelief, Melchior cocky ? The couldn?t be right. ?Save it Tugo, Gamma Tau Epsilon used our building and cleared out the stores, we need to replenish them for out next ?high difficulty level? quest. He was smiling, as was Tugo, he just hated it when Tugo brought up his old team?s past. Melchior turned towards the other team members before raising an eyebrow. ?Well ? I thought you guys were hungry, where are the new supplies ?? Tugo chuckled. ?You?re getting more and more like Ares every time I see you. Same stoical old bastard who runs his team like a team ought to be run.? After a few minutes the rest of the team had reassembled next to the till, each with an armful of supplies, Tugo let out a faux-impressed whistle. ?All that then ? My, my Melchior, these three would give Sanga a run for his money.? Melchior blew out his breath derisively, Sanga had been a warrior on their team, a giant of a man who ate more than the rest of the team combined, it had given Ares, Tugo and Melchior a lot of financial headaches over the team?s lifetime. Drawing out a handful of Deltan banknotes, Melchior paid for the goods before the team moved out of the store. A few minutes later they arrived back in their team house, spotlessly clean as it had been left and the heating was activated, within thirty seconds Xavier and Talia were in the kitchen preparing food while Boushin and Melchior sat in the team?s living room soaking up some much needed heat. Boushin turned to Melchior, a enquiring look on his face. ?Why didn?t you say you felt it too ??
Interesting, most interesting. In answer to your question kraehe, the only place that OB actually allows editing of the board HTML code is in The Arena and this is purely for RPG purposes. Outside of that you can't actually create scrolling within pages, actually I'm not even sure if you can do it within The Arena either...

Ireland, Dublin Airport 1300 Hours The Hunters had dozens of contacts across the world, mostly these were made up of the extended families of other hunters, who could be relied upon to aid them in the hunt, in his own case, Niall had called upon this aid to smuggle his weapons passed airport security, his rifle lay hidden in his luggage already moving onto the plane, and the SIG SAUER pistol he carried with him at all times had successfully been moved through the scanners. The Hunters needed these allies more than anyone, centuries ago, one wouldn't be stopped for carrying a pistol or a sword, now you'd face a few decades in prison for being a terrorist. His flight to Paris left in twenty minutes, like many of the older families, Niall flew first class wherever he went, it was a better disguise than sitting among two hundred people with at least a dozen screaming infants to destroy any chance he might have to concentrate. Within a few minutes he'd be on the plane, two and a half hours later, God willing, he'd be in Paris and rendezvous with his French brothers in the hunt, it was still only setting in that the beast had returned, at first it hadn't seemed possible, then the fear had set in, it was possible, and it had happened. Now there was only stark determination, they would either kill the beast, and everyone one of the beasts foul worshippers, or they would be killed themselves and any hope for it's destruction would be lost. "Your boarding pass please sir." "Here." "Thank you sir." The plane was smaller than he expected, but smaller was better, it meant there'd be less potential things to go wrong, or to interrupt him. The three-quarter length brown leather jacket he wore had proven considerably useful over the years he'd owned it, several concealed pockets allowed him to store required items for his travels, and the toughness of the leather itself would hopefully prove some defence. As Niall had hoped, his seat was singular, he didn't need someone looking into his phone as he sent off the half dozen messages he needed to before take off. He had contact numbers and details for nearly every hunter in the world on his phone, Ireland had only three families still members, the Ryans, the McCormacks and the Griffins, the rest had died out over the generations since the Elder Council had disbanded, one of the worse decisions the Hunters had made as a group. Quickly he selected the details of the French Hunters he would meet up with in the airport, his travel arrangements had already been forwarded, but he still felt better confirming everything had went according to plan. His fingers breezed over the keys, relaying the departing time and estimated arrival, as well as orders for his accommodation while he stayed in Paris. Hunters never stayed together as a group, it would make them an easier target for their enemies that way, they gathered only for important meetings, instead the operated in cells of no more than four hunters together, Niall wasn?t sure yet who we?d be stayed with, but it didn?t really matter. After a thankfully uneventful flight, Niall?s plane touched down in Charles De Gaulle airport, fifteen minutes earlier than scheduled due to optimal flying conditions. He'd collected his bags and gone through airport security by the time he'd met up with his Paris escorts. One was definitely Parisian, the other was probably from Bordeaux, both dressed in casual gear like Niall was, it was the obvious way to avoid attracting attention. The Parisian was the first to speak. "Good to finally meet you Niall. I wish it were under better circumstances." "Yeah, I know how you feel." "If you don't mind we'll bring you right to the gathering. The Council has been reformed." "I expected as much. Let's get going then." The car ride from the airport to the Hunters main base took less than thirty minutes, impressive enough given Parisian afternoon traffic. Disguised as one of a hundred different office blocks in the city of light, the Hunters headquarters allowed them to gather in high numbers without causing a stir. The building would also be used to store hunter weapons, and if the case was grievous enough, for a large contingent of hunters to mobilise quickly for the hunt. The main foyer was typically French, but with hints as to the groups international member base. In one corner he noted that the original board of directors was made up of the names of the previous council, his father included. Which meant from the French government's point of view, this firm was only fourteen years old. "Niall, long time no see." Niall turned to see a familiar face.

Interesting, most interesting. Like Bombu I prefer not to restrict myself to any one genre of gaming, but action, RPG, RTS and fighting games are probably the ones I spend most of my time on. If I had to pick an out favourite, I'd probably go with RPGs, purely because out of all the videogames I own, RPGs take up most of my time, whenever a good RPG comes out like Elder Scrolls Oblivion, or KOTOR, I clear my calendar for about three days of straight video gaming. It's probably the progression of story, rather than the character development which keeps me playing RPGs, any game with a decent storyline will hook me. My most recent RTS purchase, Rise of Legends has to rank high on my most played list though, the mixture of sci-fi and fantasy is not something you see a lot of. And it plays exceptionally well for the most part.
Is this RPG going to be using some form of the chapter system for posting, or will it be free-for-all? On that note, since I'm playing as a supporting cast member I'd like to have some idea of how often I should post once this starts up. -Shy
Yeah, we'll be using chapters, but no posting order. The details are covered under the "Set Up" heading of the original post, but to elaborate further, while there will be a Cast List for each Saga, anyone who is on that list will be able to post as regularly as they like, so long as it doesn't become excessive of course. [Edit] Just a quick edit, Yoda will be playing the part of Toma.

Seeing as we've the whole thing ironed out now Mike I've got no problem with you playing Raditz, I think the encounter between you, Bill and whoever plays Piccolo will be an interesting one. Just of note I've added two more "accepted" people to the cast list. Sakura who will be playing the role of Gohan, and Shy who's agreed to cameo as Kami and Mr Popo.

Droplets of sweat poured down Sergei's nose, his lip was cut with a trail of fresh blood ending at his chin and at least one of his ribs were broken, but his opponent was fairing no better. Training was an everyday part of life for Brotherhood members, they had access to a hundred different martial arts forms and learned each ones in varying degrees of completeness. After eighty-eight years, Sergei had learned sixty-two completely, mostly based on full bodily usage rather than just his arms and legs. Those hunters already on the most advanced and refined version of the serum like his opponent would gradually grow more accustomed to their new strength and speed, but for someone like Fr. Geser who?d had forty years to experience the limits of his abilities, he knew exactly how fast and how strong he could be. ?You?re doing well Ronan, anticipating my attacks and your blocking has improves significantly since our last spar.? ?Thank you Father Geser.? Exhaling deeply, Sergei brought himself back into his fighting stance, taken from Shotokan Karate, the first style of martial arts he?d ever mastered. He balled his fists and waited for his opponent to attack, in his two hundred confirmed vampire kills, Sergei had come to realise that vampires were by nature aggressive and sought to use their superior strength and speed to quickly overwhelm and opponent, thus if he waited for the attack, he could properly gauge his enemy and strike back with even greater force. Ronan as expected lunged in with a flawless roundhouse kick aimed for Sergei?s head, but a lightning fast raising of his forearm intercepted the blow and swept his opponent off balance, taking advantage of his opponent?s lack of co-ordination, Sergei launched out his left leg into a snap-kick, sending his newest student reeling back twenty feet to the edge of the ring. This was becoming a concerning problem for the Brotherhood, while many of those who had taken the original, or in Geser?s case, the prototype serum had not become overconfident with their augmented attributes, many of the younger brothers and sisters had indeed become arrogant. The only cure for this was to be defeated, and defeated utterly by a more skilled opponent. The training was harsh, but it had to be, vampires were ruthless demons who fed on humans because they could survive no other way, they were a disease spawned by Satan himself, allergic to sun, silver and anything blessed. ?You?re... you?re too strong Father. I cannot beat you.? Ronan was gripping his chest where Sergei?s foot had connected, the blood on his teeth was enough for him to know that the fight was over, while the serum would heal him in a few hours, his current pain would be a good lesson in humility. Breathing out heavily, Sergei realised how tired his was, his body had sustained several direct blows from the younger apprentices, and their bodies were all younger and fitter than his. When he took the serum at nearly fifty, it had been to prevent one of their younger brothers being lost to a bad dose, he?d gone passed his prime by nearly a decade at that stage and unless the good R&D division managed to invent a serum that would also revitalise his body then students like Ronan, despite all of Sergei?s skill would be able to beat him. ?My strength is not the reason you lost Brother Ronan. It is your lack of focus that allowed me to beat you. By attacking me so aggressively, you allowed me to block and counter attack. Instead you should press your opponents defences and look for any flaws which you might take advantage of. If you can do that, then no opponent can beat you.? ?OK, I?ll try harder next time.? ?Alright.? Moving off the edge of the fighting mat, Sergei checked the pocket watch he kept on him nearly all the time. The brass chronometer was Polish by make, one of the few things he still had belonging to his parents. The meeting between the Brotherhood and their supposed allies should have finished by now, Jakob had been guarding Fr Crowland and had not returned to the Brotherhood?s sanctuary, which meant he was probably sleeping. Sergei had seen significant changes in Jakob since David had left, the three of them had been closer than any other members of the Brotherhood, Sergei treating the two boys as sons, and they relied on each other like brothers. Thinking back on David?s betrayal still brought a tang of anger as well as regret to Sergei?s heart, but he?d focussed on training Jakob to understand what vampires were, so the incident would not happen again. Character Name: Bardock Signature Attacks:

Riot Javelin: A spiral shaped energy attack, how long ago Bardock developed the attack is uncertain, but one sure thing is that it?s effective. Very few fighters who encounter Riot Javelin have walked away from it alive, let alone unharmed. The technique is formed by focussing a considerable amount of energy into one hand and released in a throwing motion.
Special Abilities:

Kanassan Gift: After the incident on Planet Kanassa, Bardock gained the ability to read minds and see into the future, neither of which is under his conscious control and has often proven more detrimental than helpful.
Oozaru: Like all Saiyans, Bardock has the ability to transform himself into a giant ape under the influence of a full moon, or the artificial moon technique he developed. Growing to a staggering 200 feet tall, his strength, speed and power are all multiplied ten-fold. Unfortunately destruction of either the moon, artificial or otherwise, or the removal of his tail will reverse this transformation.
Artificial Moon: A fighting genius among Saiyans, Bardock developed the artificial moon technique for planets without a natural moon. This small ball of light exactly mimics the radiation given off by a normal moon causing a Saiyan to transform into an Oozaru.
Character Chronicles: [Planet Turan - 17 Years Ago] ?We need to move now, Freiza?s troops are already on their way !? ?But this is our home.? ?What?s your home worth compared to the lives of your children ?! You can resettle somewhere else.? ?Bardock ! Why the hell are we wasting our time here ? If Frieza?s elites find us here we?re dead !? This was Bardock, Saiyan conqueror turned defender. He?d sworn the day they escaped Meat that he?d never allow Frieza to destroy another life, if he wanted the planet, let him have it, but no person would die for it. Turan was the third planet in the sector to have elite teams on their way, it was also the biggest in terms of overall population, which meant it would have the biggest number of casualties. Bardock?s team had arrived four days previously, and had already managed to warn several of the inhabited cities of their impending doom, the idea that a group of Saiyans would try to protect them seemed impossible to believe, but after two days of begging and pleading, evacuations had begun. The elderly Turan looked up at his would-be Saiyan hero, tanned skin from fighting on a hundred different world, tight toned muscles, and a single prominent scar across his lower left cheek. The green scouter over his left eye matched the tone of his armour nearly perfectly, under any other circumstances he?d have expected his life to end in the next few moments. Turan lay on the edges of Frieza?s ever expanding dominion, but these Saiyans had come to save them from that monster, perhaps the destruction of their homeworld had igniting a buried nobility within the warrior race. The first hundred evacuation ships had already left the system for deep space outside of Freiza?s reach, yes they would have a new homeworld eventually, and they?d owe it all to these Saiyans. ?Toma, these are the last few from this city. We can move on to the next one. Seripa how are we doing on time ?? ?We?ve got less than two hours before the elites reach Turan. If we?re getting out of here Bardock, we need to go now. I know you?ve gotten used to these mercy missions, but we can?t head Frieza off every time.? ?Damn it.? Bardock hated this, he didn?t have the man power to face down Frieza?s elite teams, for all he knew, Vegeta, Nappa and his own son were the ones heading here. It was strange to find himself on the other side of the fence, only a few years previously he?d have gladly slaughtered the children running towards the ship, now he just prayed they?d get out of the sector in time. Toma and Seripa hadn?t grown accustomed to what they were doing yet, Bardock didn?t want them to be orders, he wanted them to do it because they wanted to help these people. One day, one day he?d meet his son Kakarott and when that happened, Kakarott would know his father was a good man. ?Alright, let?s get going.?

Maybe it's just me, but I have no trouble imagining a manic smile on my face as I'm setting up the explosives, heh maybe it's a few too many hours of Red Alert 2 playing as the Cubans. Another good chapter Phil, not sure how I missed this one for three days, but I enjoyed it, if only because it advances the story along well while developing the characters. Just for myself, Gavin should be occasionally pushing up a pair of glasses or sweeping hair back behind his ear, two things I do rather too often for my liking.

Interesting, most interesting. OK Red 6, from one guy who used to be very overweight to another, I've got to tell you man that if you're happy with how you look then fair play, but a little exercise and some wise food choices will only make life that much sweeter. In reality I was probably overweight to the point of actual obesity for years, age 9 until about age 17 when I actively started to make and effort to lose weight and tone up. In reality the hardest part is changing your life so you can get out of those patterns which lead to putting up weight. I know it sounds ridiculously simple, but trust me, if you try to give up fried food straight from the bat then you'd better have the willpower to do it. Stuff like salt, butter, gravy, all that stuff when cut out will make a huge difference, I know some of you will be reading this and thinking, but where does the flavour come from ? I'll tell you this, salt ruins the taste of food, if you like salt that much, eat it by itself. Next, join a gym, or at least get active somehow, go for a walk or a job for half and hour every day, start doing sit ups and push ups. Trust me, for a guy who couldn't do a single push up to say his life a few years ago, it's going to take a lot of hard work. But in the end when you start to feel the new energy pumped into your body, you'll wonder how you ever even lived as you did. I don't mean to preach to overweight people, but as someone who was very overweight a few years ago, I'm telling you, it's the best decision you'll make, ever.

Interesting, most interesting. I suppose like writers, depending on the circumstances I might write a character who I could see existing in the real world. But as for actually seeing them, well that's something I've never been too drunk/too tired to actually accomplish. I think SunfallE is probably right when she says that certain people in the world remind you of characters you've written about, or vice-versa and that's where it comes from.

Interesting, most interesting. Hmm well unlike a lot of people here, my school did absolutely no proper sex education, we covered it in science sure but that was very clinical rather than educational and only covering the science topics. I guess I learned about it from a variety of places, other kids, reading and eventually of course, the conversation neither child or parent want to have. As for sex itself, well my last instance of it was about six days ago, spur of the moment thing and I don't know why people make such a big deal of it. People would swear it's the be all and end all, or the best thing since slice bread, sure it's pleasurable but I don't know, I was expecting more after hearing about it for so long.

Interesting, most interesting. Personally I've loved Family Guy since I first saw it, usually I hate stupid humour but there was something about the show that just kept me laughing every time I watched it. Compared to The Simpsons, which really does need to be cancelled at this stage because it's gone so far beyond a farce of comedy, it's comic gold. I understand what Red 6 means when he says the humour gets old fast, but really it's a love it or hate it show, you either find Stewie's consistent attempts to commit matricide, only to be foiled at the last moment, hilarious or you find them silly. It's a shame the show was continued, it like Futurama was genuinely funnier than The Simspons, but I guess FOX's idea of funny is different to mine.

The twin suns of the Nyx system had set on third planet, leaving only the pale starlight to illuminate the surface of the dead world. Years beforehand the planet had been cleared for resale, the stench of death was still potent, as though the fallen still lingered in anger against those who had brought oblivion to them. The only source of life was three figures quietly sitting in the face of a large camp fire, nobody spoke, nobody needed to speak, this was just another brief rest on a dead world, just one more in the two decades they?d spent running from Frieza. One of the figures relaxed back against the ground, his tail tied around his midsection like a belt, Bardock never enjoyed these little stops, he always felt that eventually one of Frieza?s goon squad would catch up to them and finish off the last few survivors from Planet Vegeta. Bardock was pushing fifty, and yet didn?t look a day older than thirty, that was the nature with Saiyans, they reach their prime quick and stayed there for decades before eventually meeting their end in glorious combat against an entire world of enemies, or at least that?s what every Saiyan wanted, they might not live long enough to do so. Toma and Seripa sat nearby, Toma was taller than Bardock and a few years younger, he?d been his right hand for as long as Bardock?s team had been a team, now the three of them were the last free Saiyans left in the galaxy. His fingers traced over a few loose stones on the ground, the area was an old battle field, probably the ruins on an old city where the Nyxans had made their last stand against whoever had cleared the planet. Bardock held them between his fingers for a moment before crushing them into dust, against most other beings in the galaxy Bardock and his team were a nightmare, death incarnate, against Frieza and his elites, they were nothing more than corpses. Seripa was the youngest member of the team by far, she?d joined only a few years ago, before Bardock had really earned the notoriety that had put him in such demand, and eventually lead to the death of half his team at Dodoria?s hands. The Saiyan had never forgiven himself for that, he?d lost two good men, two good friends because he didn?t see he was becoming a threat to Frieza, he feared what Saiyans were capable of becoming, eventually the Legendary Super Saiyan would have returned, and that would have spelled the end for Frieza. Instead Bardock sat alone with his remaining comrades, the last remains of a once proud race. Toma it seems had been following the same train of thought Bardock, but it was Seripa who spoke first. ?So we?re it ? No other survivors except for Vegeta?s team ?? ?It looks that way.? Bardock returned his attention to the fire, it was a symbol of the rage that burned within him, but he knew he?d never be strong enough to take Frieza, there was only one being who could do that, he?d seen it. Slowly he formed the words, although neither Seripa nor Toma had ever said it to him directly, Bardock?s ?visions? were not something they had complete faith in. ?There may be one other.? ?Who ?? ?My son.? ?Kakarott ? What makes you think he survived ?? ?As far as I know, he was scheduled to leave for Earth just before the planet blew.? Toma sighed, they?d been on the run for the last twenty years, sometimes, just sometimes he considered piloting his pod straight for Frieza and meeting his end like a proper Saiyan. But Bardock was his friend, he trusted him and it was that trust which had kept them alive for so long, the didn?t mean however that he wouldn?t question his friend?s plan, especially ones that put them at risk of being caught. ?Still an if.? ?Even if it is Toma, we need to check it out. He?s a full blood, one of only seven left.? ?What makes you think he won?t side with Vegeta as opposed to us ? Hell he might even join Frieza.? ?Because he?s my son.? ?So?s Raditz.? Bardock scowled at that sentiment, but Toma was right, Bardock had managed to contact Raditz year back and asked him to join them, his elder son?s response had been that Bardock was a coward to keep hiding and should have met his end on Vegeta like a real Saiyan father. Bardock hadn?t seen Kakarott since he was just a baby, before he?d been sent to Earth, but Raditz had told his father there?d been no word from his little brother since then, it struck Bardock as strange, Earth was a low class planet, it shouldn?t have taken him any longer than a few years to conquer it. Perhaps something had happened to him, but if he had died, then who was it Bardock had seen challenging Frieza on that?s strange world. ?Bardock?s right Toma, even if Raditz wouldn?t side with us, at least he never told Vegeta we survived. Kakarott is our best chance for an additional man. He?s probably in his twenties now right Bardock ?? Seripa hadn?t spoken since the conversation began, but generally if she agreed with something, it was the best course of action. She?d become the voice of moderation among the three, if Toma was too pessimistic or Bardock?s plans were too rash, Seripa was not above letting either of them know it. ?Yeah.? ?How far away is Earth ?? Having given in to defeat, Toma wanted as much info as he could about the next stage in this little sojourn. That way at least he could form some kind of back up plan in case something went wrong. ?About six months in the pods.? ?Better get going then.? Toma and Seripa stood up from the fire, dusting themselves off. Bardock stayed sitting a moment, reflect the events of his life that had brought him to this moment in time. He wasn?t happy about it, the Saiyans as a race had grown complacent and arrogant, failing to teach their sons how to be men as well as warriors, and they?d paid the ultimate price for that. ?Thanks.? ?You don?t need to thank us Bardock, we?re still a team.? ?Still.? The hum of the pods activation was enough to relax Bardock?s nerves. His eyes closed as he tried to picture what his son would look like, of course that fact that most Saiyan children resembled their parents meant that Kakarott would look nearly exactly like his father, but perhaps there would be differences, he?d just have to wait and see... |Underground| OK if you're reading this then obviously you've seen the thread in the Inn, or perhaps you've not and this just piqued your interest. If you've not already go check out the Saiyan: Chronicles thread in the Arena for the Prologue and Sign Up details. As I said in that thread, I would be providing a cast list from which people could pick their desired character from, this will include the Z Fighters and even villains for those who would like to only participate for only one Saga. Ok so without further delay I?ll get to the casting. |Cast| Saiyans Bardock [Played by Myself] Toma [Played by Yoda] Seripa [Played by Ezekiel] Kakarott/Goku [Played by Chaos] Vegeta [Played by Andrew] Gohan [Played by Sakura] Z Fighters Tien & Chaozu [Available] Krillin [Available] Piccolo [Played by White] Yamcha [Available] Supporting Cast Chi-Chi [Played by Lady Katana] Bulma [Available] Master Roshi [Available] North Kai/King Kai [Played by Myself] Kami & Mr. Popo [Played by Shy] Dende [Available] Villains Raditz [Played by The Boss] Nappa [Played by White] Zarbon & Dodoria [Played by Mystic Ninja] Ginyu Force [Played by Dragon Warrior] Frieza [Played by Mystic Ninja] Now as you might expect I don?t anticipate filling each and every one of those slots. Those characters who are not picked will become NPCs for the RPG, however I would like to get plenty of people to sign up. |Set Up| Despite the fact I have little love for them, Saiyan: Chronicles will be a chapter based RPG, but only in the loosest sense, I will be giving a cast list for each of the two Sagas and only the characters mentioned will be able to post. In the cast of the Saiyan Saga this will mean all Frieza Saga applicants will have to wait a little while before being able to post. This is just so we can keep everything neat and orderly. |Everything Else| As per usual this is an Underground thread, so any questions or suggestions you may have can be posted here.

|Prologue| OK, for those of you who have no idea what this is, Saiyan: Chronicles is a new RPG set in the Dragonball Z universe. The difference between this version and the normal one however is that Bardock, Goku?s father survived the destruction of the Saiyan race because he was not on Vegeta at the time. For those of you who?ve seen the Bardock TV special, we?re playing it from the angle that Bardock arrived early enough to prevent Toma and Seripa?s deaths on Planet Meat, but not those of Panbukin and Totapo. Managing to kill the remaining members of Dodoria?s elites left behind, the three Saiyans go into exile on the edges of Frieza?s galactic empire trying to stay one step ahead of his death squads. As you might have guessed from the intro, Bardock and his team plan to journey to Earth to try to convince Kakarott to join them. As you might expect I?ll be allowing people to sign up for any of the Z Fighters, including Piccolo, however the majority of the Saiyan roles have already been filled by those who have helped put this RPG together. The sign up will be rather small compared to the usual one, taking a leaf out of Josh's book, I'm going to include only a small number of fields to work with, and I'll be judging based on quality and knowledge of the Dragonball universe. |Sign Up| Character Name: Signature Attacks: Special Abilities: Character Chronicles: As I said the fields would be rather small, however the most important is Character Chronicles which will serve as a combined appearance, personality and biography section and will be where most of my scrutiny will focus. The overall sign up should not exceed 750 words altogether which is a fair compromise between quality and succinctness. The Underground thread will be posted at some stage later today, I just wanted to get the actual sign up thread posted. I'll also be including a full cast list from which people can choose their characters.

Interesting, most interesting. I used to be afraid of a few things, the dark being a major one, I slept with a light on until I was eighteen as sad as that sounds. When you need glasses to see, the dark can really play havoc with your visual perceptions. The only real fear I've retained is one of heights in small places, which could more accurately be described as a fear of falling. I have no problems being on a plane or whatever, but put me in a cherry picker or up a tree and I'm paralysed with fear. I just have this intense paranoia that I'm going to fall if you put my up somewhere like that. That's it for me really, don't like many manner of creepy-crawlies but I'm not afraid of them at the same time.

Interesting, most interesting. 1 What is your NATURAL hair color/colors? A kind of medium brown, probably edging more towards lighter than darker. 2 Have you ever dyed your hair? If so, what color[s]? Nope, my one paranoia is in relation to my hair, nothing but shampoo and conditioner are ever wilfully applied. 3A If you have, do you regret it? Has it damaged your hair? Moving on. 3B If you haven't, do you want to? Not a chance, looking at my dad I?ll be going bald in 25 years so I?ll keep what I have of it like it is. 4 Are you satisfied with your current hair color? Yep. 5 What is your favorite style for your hair? [[long, short, bangs, etc]] I used to get scalped by my barber until a few years ago, now it?s longish for a guy I suppose, think Daniel Jackson style early Stargate and that?s what I?m talking about. 6 What kind of hair do you like in the opposite sex? Not really bothered, I don?t like girls with short/very short haircuts unless it suits them, but generally whatever suits.

Jesus lost again looking at the Lounge, I didn't even see the thread and I thought about it. There needs to be an help group for this thing, I just can't beat it on my own. Of course the likelihood is that if we found a group someone will say "I lost" making everyone lose again.

Interesting, most interesting. While I completely agree with anyone who says that simply enlarging physical assets is not way to improve a relationship, my one concern is that nobody has said anything about preventing this gum being accidentally sold to men. I mean Jesus are they going to have ad campaigns showing before and after pictures for guys, "this was you three months ago, this is you now". Personally I'm not too concerned about bust size, larger, smaller it's all good so long as the girl I'm interested in is happy with her looks, there's nothing worse than one who bitches about the way she looks all the time.

Lost again after browsing the Lounge for replies to my new thread, my record is something like a day at this stage, hopefully I'll forget about it and not see it for a week.

Character Name: Maxwell Schubaltz Age: 37 Profession: Soldier of fortune. Brief History and Description: Born in the Serengeti, one could say that Maxwell has always been more at home in the wilder places of the world than he ever has been among civilised society. Years of living free have shaped his form into something near god-like, tight toned muscles rippling across his six foot form, off set by golden blond flowing hair and piercing blue eyes. Truly he could be described as a lion in human form, his voice bearing the same deep resonance of a proud alpha male, there are few females who would not covet a sire from this great beast. By age 18, Maxwell had left the jungle, and the world of man seemed so strange to him. Education had never been imparted to him in the volumes required to live among normal people, and often he found himself resorting to animal instinct rather than human sentience. Over time, the manners of society were made obvious to him, after an incident in a bar one night at the tender age of twenty, Maxwell killed another gentlemen in a drunken row, in the jungle that would have been the end of the matter, he had asserted his dominance and the rest should have cowed away from him. Instead he found himself thrust into a cold dank building where he would spent the next ten years. However fate smiled upon the young man in his incarceration, there are many in prison who seek protection from others, and in return for this service, Maxwell was educated to a point where he could operate in normal society. Successfully levying an appeal against his conviction, Maxwell returned to the work of man at the age of thirty and found himself working as a body-guard, a career in sync with his animal instincts now tempered by a moderate intelligence. While guarding a small time film star, Maxwell encountered a journalist named Elizabeth Archer, though their meeting did not bear a traditional beginning, it would blossom into a mutually beneficial relationship, Maxwell providing Elizabeth with stories she desired, and Elizabeth further taming Maxwell?s wild ways.

Just a thought that crossed my mind while I was reading a few different threads, those of us who've been on OB for a couple of years will have been around long enough to see older members go and newer members grow, mature and take their places. However, what happens occasionally is that one old member retires, and someone turns up who eventually becomes very like the person who retires. To give an example, for me Jamie aka Ezekiel has almost certainly become the new Juuthena, some people won't recognise this name, but older members will definitely remember Juu. I say this because Jamie has turned into a fantastic RPer in the short amount of time I've known her, uses a coloured Size 1 Verdana font style like Juu used to, and is an adamant Star Wars fan. Now I accept that those three aren't all that uncommon, but having known both Juu and Jamie, I was a newbie when I knew Juu and now an oldie as I know Jamie, I think Jamie has definitely filled the void Juu left. Does anyone else have any thoughts of who on OB now is like someone who left ? Or even conversely, someone who resembles an older version of one of our newer members ?

Gavin replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
Have to admit Pigland left me holding my sides I was laughing so hard, I don't know what it was about it that was so funny, perhaps the fact my family were farmers for a long time but I just found it so hilarious. Batter to the Bone was OK, but I don't know, I just didn't find it all that funny, especially compared to the previous story. Just OOC were Josh and Gavin based on You and Shy or Me and Shy, or just two pastries called Josh and Gavin ?
