6.
Oh, and what do people thing about Zidane's little head butt? Regardless of the circumstances, he shouldn't have done that, especially since it was his last game before retiring. It'll always be remembered, but it would be a shame if he is condemned for it years down the line, given his amazing performance over the years.

World Cup Final On July 9, 2006, Zidane became one of only four footballers to achieve the feat of scoring in two different World Cup final matches (he scored twice in the 1998 FIFA World Cup final), sharing the honour with Pelé, Paul Breitner, and Vavá. He scored in the seventh minute from the penalty spot. He nearly headed in the ball during the first period of extra time but it was saved by Gianluigi Buffon. His career ended suddenly when he was sent off for violent conduct after headbutting Italy's goalscorer, Marco Materazzi, in the chest in the 110th minute. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and Italy won the championship after a penalty kick shootout. His agent, Alain Migliaccio has claimed that a "very serious" comment by Matterazzi provoked the attack.[7] A lip reader is of the opinion that Materazzi called Zidane a terrorist; however, this has been denied by Materazzi himself, who said: "I don't even know what the word means." [8] [9] The French organization SOS Racisme also alleged that the insult was "dirty terrorist" in a press release, citing "several very-well informed sources". Materazzi and the Italian team have denied these claims. The BBC reported that an Italian-language lipreader they employed reported that Materazzi wished "an ugly death to you and your family" ? on the day Zidane had discovered his mother was seriously ill ? and finally "go **** yourself".[citations needed] The Brazillian television station "Globo" claimed that via a lip-reader they had discovered that Materazzi had called Zidane's sister a prostitute, [1]. He was the fourth person to have been sent off in a World Cup final and the first to be sent off during extra time. On July 10, 2006, Zidane was awarded the Golden Ball for the best player in the 2006 World Cup. The winner was selected by a poll of journalists covering the tournament; Zidane polled 2012 points, ahead of Fabio Cannavaro, who polled 1977 points. Most votes were cast during half-time of the final match; voting closed that night at midnight. Quote taken from Wikipedia article on Zidane
If that's true, then I think Zidane was completely justified, if someone called me a terrorist and called my sister a prostitute, or wished myself and my family an ugly death then they'd better run like the wind or else. Until FIFA can either prove or disprove what's said there, I'm going to continue believing that one of the few gentlemen of football had to have had something terribly insulting said to him in order to react that way.
 7. Interesting, most interesting. Well it's a pretty well known fact that younger siblings make life hell for their older siblings, to people who are younger siblings, I'm sorry to say that your eldest brother/sister almost certainly considers/considered you the biggest pain in the *** of their entire life, but loves you no matter how downright infuriating you can be. I'm the eldest of three in my family with two and a bit years between all of us, now while my younger brother Dave and I get on fairly well most of the time, he can be a bit hyper and just annoy the hell out of me to the point where I'll lose my cool. My younger sister Sinead however, youngest in the family, vexes me 24/7 and takes some perverse pleasure in making me losing my temper, I mean seriously she will literally just do something to annoy me because she enjoys watching me go berserk. As her to do something in relation to housework, for instance, push back the chair she's got planted in front of the TV so I can hoover and I get a "**** Off" for my troubles. Now I know some of you might be thinking that because she?s fifteen she?s going through the whole teen angst thing, but she?s been like this since about age seven, so that?s either the earliest case of teenage angst ever recorded, or she?s just a brat full-stop. What is really weird, and I think all eldest siblings will agree with me here, is that despite whatever younger siblings do to us, we can?t help but feel somehow responsible and not hold it against them for too long. Maybe it?s that we?ve had the ?show your younger siblings responsibility? speech too often, maybe not, but we can?t help but try to look out for them. I love both my brother and sister very much, but sometimes, I really do not like them very much.

 13. Interesting, most interesting. Sign-Ups Real Name: Sean Twohy Age: 19 Delta Name: Melchior Zeal Delta Age: 42 Team Name: Giga Omega Ki [Team Leader] Class: Paladin - With their incredible divine abilities, defensive capabilities, and melee aptitude, they make more than a match for the undead. Advantage: Extremely good defense, some MP abilities Disadvantage: Low MP Player Rank: 4 Weapon: Fragarach. Translated to ?The Answerer? from Sean?s native Irish, the longsword has long been the most associated weapon of the Paladin. Melchior?s own sword is rather much what it looks like, very quick, very sharp and very fatal if used correctly. Personality: In the real world, Sean Twohy was known for his honesty, his compassion and his generosity to those worse off than him, it is unsurprising then that these traits should personify Melchior also. Despite being relatively young, Sean?s personality as Melchior reflects a considerable maturity, able to weigh important decisions that will no only affect himself, but also those around him and those who will be directly affected by his decisions. To this end he has always been willing to put his own welfare aside for the betterment of the denizens of Delta, which has lead him to be heralded and praised as one of the strongest and most gallant of the Paladin. For those of the dark alignment, Melchior is feared, despised but also respected for his power, few who have challenged him directly have come away alive, let alone unscathed. To those serving under him, although he has never considered himself a leader in any respect, merely a teacher, he is considered the epitome of stalwart righteousness. Abilities/Magic: Sanctification: A rather double-edged power, Sanctification is an all encompassing area spell that deals very heavy damage to anyone not of the Light Alignment, this includes Melchior?s allies and even neutral parties, as well as enemies. Given the deleterious nature of this power, he is reluctant to use it unless fighting alone, or with those of the same alignment as himself. Given his low MP, Sanctification must be used only when absolutely necessary as it requires a considerable portion of his magic power to use. 16. Interesting, most interesting. I must admit I was wondering who the Gingerbread Man was going to be, given the intro banner makes the GM look like someone who just drank enough caffeine to kill their ability to sleep permanently. On the plus side I seem to cause great physical discomfort to anyone who tries to eat me, as well as being very wise and intimidating, although being made of magic laxatives is somewhat alarming. A good parody series, I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

 18. Interesting, most interesting. Well I'm just back after Dead Man's Chest and I have to admit I thought it was a little long winded for it's own good. Now before I'm made to walk the plank by legions of Sparrow fangirls my main gripe with the film was
that I have some inkling by about, oh I don't know, an hour and a half into the film that it was going to be only one more segment in a growing franchise. Now to me, if a film is going to be 150 minutes long, it better hold my attention well and have some chemistry between it's lead male and female character couple.
I mean there was
absolutely no chemistry between Knightley and Bloom, and even less between her and the so-called third member of the love triangle Captain Sparrow. So really that whole bit to the film was a yawner for me, and I hope in the next film they can iron that out a bit.
Knightley's whole performance for me
seemed a bit off for some reason, I don't know whether it was that she seemed too different from the character in the first film, or just that the script wasn't well written for her, but it reminded me a lot of Padmé from the Prequel Trilogy. I mean surely someone might have noticed her on the boat when she stowed away to get to Tortuga, were those guys that long out at sea ?
Orlando Bloom,
I don't know, but there's something about him in a film that involves him being a "manly man" that just doesn't wash. In fact the only film I've seen him in that I liked was Kingdom of Heaven, his acting here just doesn't have any impact compared with the other actors. He did well enough I suppose, but there's just something about him that seems very boyish and lacking any kind of real masculinity.
Now moving on
from the dead wood of the film, Captain Jack was as usual his highly entertaining self, although I'm glad to see that he did appear rather more self-centred this time around, there's nothing worse than a pirate with a conscience. The way he so completely callously sent you Bill over to "settle his debt" was great, and that his soul was worth 100 to Davy Jones, which is a fair assessment of his performance on the whole, as more so than ever he was the
driving point behind the story. Moving to the new additions and returning cast, I thought
Bill Nighy did quite a good Davy Jones, but can?t compare in my mind to Captain Barbossa from the original, there can only be one immortal POTC villain and Barbossa?s my favourite. His return at the end of the film was met with a cheer in the cinema and I had to heartily agree, Hector?s back
and we?re glad for it.
The Voodoo Lady from the swamp, though clearly lifted from Monkey Island was great, and strangely even with her bad teeth, quite attractive. I was kind of half hoping there might be a talking skull thrown in there for the sake of humour
but we can?t have it every way. I have to admit
I wasn?t expecting Norrington to show up again, or rather I suppose I should say I wasn?t expecting him in that incarnation, while others weren?t too fond of his the Commodore, I have to admit I myself was rather fond of him. This new, laid low Norrington however was unexpected but quite entertaining, and his final act at the end of the film sets him up to have to decide to either eventually cast off the title of Admiral in the next film and regain his honour, or to serve for the sake of a title.
Either way I can?t wait to see what happens.
Bootstrap was a very welcome addition to the film, I knew he'd have to appear, seeing as he was immortal throughout the whole first film, which is one thing I didn't get about why exactly he signed on with Davy Jones' crew, after all he couldn't exactly drown under water. The fights scenes were great, I mean that three way fight on the church and later water-wheel was excellent, I wasn?t sure who I was rooting for through most of it. The second part between Knightley and the two pirates who?s names escape me, was great as well and very funny.
The CGI was also great, I mean you couldn't possibly think any of it was real, but at the same time it did look very real, if that at all makes sense. Overall I liked it enough, but I don?t think it was better than the first film. I wouldn?t rush back to see it, but it has put me in a piratey mood. Yar, avast, get me grog and wenches.

 21. I was
gutted when Italy scored against the Germans, as I've been supporting them since the very beginning,
well them and the Aussies, but the Aussies were more so out of gratitude for a good holiday than for their chance to win. I can only hope
that France put Italy down bad in their match tomorrow, and that the Germans beat the Portuguese into the ground to regain some bit of glory. That and the fact I'd love to see Zidane take home another World Cup trophy.

 22. Have another one to add, and seeing as this guy should be fairly well known to everyone it's a damn shame he's not around. For those of us who did know Jordan, what can we say, tremendously funny and very insightful, skilled role-player and Moderator of the Otaku Lounge, LOTR and Star Wars junkie. There's really no end to what Jordan was, but above all else he was a good friend and a kind person. It's a damn shame he's gone.
He was banned for, I believe, acting like James on AIM and telling people they'd been chosen to become moderators and stuff. When I first read it I thought it was quite funny :whoops:
I thought that was Matt ?
 23. Interesting, most interesting. It's good to finally read the first segments of the story without all the filtering, makes is a hell of a difference. As I said to Mike over AIM, a love this story, I own nearly every QT film so seeing an "Otaku City" conversion is great. Moving on to the latest addition, I was enraptured the whole way through, just waiting for the "date" bit, and boys you left me in stitches, I mean Retri's reactions are just perfect and I can just imagine Mike trying to justify that it's not a date. I cannot wait to see further chapters, this is one of the best OB parodies ever to grace the Anthology.
 24. Interesting, most interesting. Like everyone else here, I personally think it is highly unlikely that North Korea will try anything so foolish, as James said, this is merely a little "demonstration" from a country without the ability to wage a full-scale war. While North has a rather large army at over 1.2 million troops, I personally don't see it being able to win a conflict against the likes of Japan, South Korea and the United States, as well as whatever allies those three can gather. After all Kim Jong-il is seen as considerably more dangerous than Saddam Hussein, because he lacks the actual sense to see that he would get pasted in a war.
 25. Interesting, most interesting. Well this issue seems to have been hashed out fairly well, personally I don't see the harm in disabling the swear filter for the PM system, as Retri said, and I believe this is the first time we've ever agreed on anything, the chances of getting an offensively written PM are marginal at best. I've been on OB nearly five years, and though I don't keep PMs, I don't recall ever getting a swear filled one deliberately intended to offend me. If at all possible, I'd prefer to be able to choose whether or not swear words are filtered, after all this is a very well run site, and I can't imagine a swear filled post purely created for the purpose of flaming would last very long. At the end of the day however this is up the James, or Justin I suppose as he's the one who has to implement it.
