Who knows, chances are we're going to see the resurrection of the Jyuubi and with that I imagine we're going to get an explanation of why it wasn't just sealed away between its body in the moon and its chakra within the Earth. Actually the Rikudo probably saw that he'd have a descendant like Madara who'd be douchy enough to try to take the Jyuubi's power for his own to take over the world. Harder to defeat and capture [strike]a hundred and fifty Pokémon[/strike] nine Bijuu than just finding the one locked away. Either that or the Jyuubi would've been revealed to have been the one behind Madara and giving him his power and evil in small bits. As for the childbirth thing, again who knows, maybe there's something special about Uzumaki women more so than their men.

To be honest given he was the Jinchuuriki to an evil that likely makes the Kyuubi look warm and cuddly by comparison, in addition to the host of genuinely god-like powers he wielded prior to that, I think it's pretty safe to assume the Rikudo didn't think like a normal person as opposed to being a gigantic douche. Sure it would've made more sense to split the Jyuubi into say a hundred Ichibis which it seems are within the realm of most high Jounin/low Kage class fighters to defeat solo but I don't think it was done for a malevolent reason. I suspect the more we learn about the Rikudo the more we'll learn about why he pursued the path he did. I mean given he allowed his decent son to take over after him shows that he wasn't completely detached from the suffering of normal people.

Mugetsu = Moonless Night, which is rather appropriate. As to what Ichigo is giving up in using this technique, more than likely all his powers given the way the Tensa/Hollow fusion responded. At the end of the day Hollow Ichigo, Zangetsu and Ichigo are all one person, all one power. Maybe Orihime can reject it but I'm guessing Kubo will come up with a reason not to.

I think it means that there are techniques that even the EMS is not completely immune to, otherwise any Uchiha who achieved EMS is invincible.

At least we know Mithura is the man behind the man so to speak for Miroku. I'd be very, very surprised if her plan doesn't have some completely ulterior motive.

Heh yeah, Ichigo's mullet finally appears and Aizen dies from overexposure to GAR.

At the rate we're going, this series is set to climax in a cosmic staring contest between emos and gingers.
lawl.

Yeah, that comment about Nagato's hair caught me a bit off-guard because as far as we've seen his hair was always red (unless that translation was wrong) and he's had the Rinnegan since he was a child. Maybe Madara got to him really early but it seemed like he was saying he made Nagato the Third Rikudo Sage around the time Akatsuki was formed, just seems weird. That Itachi theory is actually pretty good, I'd completely forgotten about it when I read through about Izanagi.

As I recall Kubo said the next arc after this would focus pretty heavily on Isshin so I guess he's going to be pretty instrumental in Ichigo regaining his powers. Giving it a bit of thought I can't help but wonder if Deicide is supposed to refer not only to Aizen but also Ichigo given he'll no longer be a Shinigami after this.

I'm going to assume you've read the second part of the spoiler, but I'll cover it just in case.
Honestly I'm really disappointed at the revelation of what Madara is, and what Nagato was, both of which feel distinctly like asspulls
.

I'm actually very disappointed with this week's chapter out of the simple fact it means
the next arc is going to inevitably revolve around Ichigo getting his powers back after he uses the FGT.
For the first time in literally years we've had Ichigo actually being badass and seeing his "resolve" in full swing, as opposed to the Hueco Mundo arc and all the doubt and despair therein. Feels like a waste of seeing Ichigo like that if he's going to lose it so soon.

I quite like this week's chapter, setup ones in Psyren doesn't seem nearly as lacking as they do in Bleach by comparison.
-
Yeah, given how long and pointlessly we were stuck in Hueco Mundo with very little plot movement or development for Kubo to be able to pull out something like that just don't seem realistic. If it is just a coincidence it's pretty uncanny though.
Reading it like that, it sounds as if Kakashi's the joke. One has to wonder though, considering that Orochimaru was the one that worked on Danzo, but also wanted the sharingan for himself, why the heck didn't Orochimaru just use them on himself? I know his body was crappin out on him (supposedly) but still. The things creators make some characters go through... Really, I think Danzo, if they would've actually fought, could've dominated Orochimaru.
That's what I meant though, Kakashi was originally supposed to be one of the most feared ninjas alive in the world and now he can barely fight for a few minutes before he's overwhelmed by chakra exhaustion when there's no current logic which explains why someone like Danzo have the level of complete Sharingan integration and Shodaime's power he has and fight to the level he did against Sasuke. Naruto has steered straight into DBZ territory a long time ago for the vast majority of its current characters and yet Kakashi is still considered the natural successor to Tsunade as Hokage. Regarding why Orochimaru didn't take some of the Sharingan for himself, that I can't figure out either given how obsessed he was with those eyes, or how he could've implanted Shodaime's powers considering he believed his experiment had been a failure.

Wiki Link-y Kind of surprised there's not a thread on this already given the amount of international coverage the possibly still planned event has generated over the last while and I'm curious about other people's reactions to this. I mean I'm really, genuinely, amazed that you can actually do something like that over in the US (or is it just Florida ?) and that Pastor Jones seems to think this will have any effect other than to incite more moderates towards extremism by showing an immense level of disrespect towards them. I honestly don't see how a stunt (and that's all I can really describe it as) such as this is supposed to lead to anything but negativity, especially if it inspires others to attempt the same thing in order to achieve their own aims.

Bleach Asylum's Black Mask Going by the anti-crist theme that Aizen has been playing on so far I guess he is really finished. The prophecy says that the beast will try to impersonate god through miracles (hogyoku magic) and assume a form which resembles that of god (Seraph butterfly). However once the real saviour shows up displaying power that the beast cannot cope with it will assume it's true form that is of a SEVEN HEADED DRAGON before being defeated and cast into the abyss of oblivion. The prophecy also said that the beast would get mortally wounded but heal and survive (which was what happened when Gin stabbed Aizen). So far we saw the Fake Prophet (Tosen) who would come and spread the greatness of the Fake Messiah (Aizen) who sought to attain the throne of god through the use of illusions (Kyoka Suigetsu) and corrupt evil magic (Hogyoku) that he sold as miracles. However there is one last part of the prophecy which has yet to come into play... Behind the Fake Prophet and the Fake Messiah was the Demon Lord who completed the unholy trinity and was by far much stronger than the other two. This means that behind Aizen was someone far more powerful who taught him how to deceive others and seek forbidden powers to dethrone the Soul King.

First thoughts: HOLY ****ING **** I don't actually want to believe Kubo is capable of doing something with this level of depth given how often he trolls us with "Plotbrem Officer ?" but dear God if he's actually managed to integrate the final battle from Revelations without anyone seeing it coming then I'm immensely impressed with him (and Black Mask for seeing the similarities two days before this chapter's spoilers were out). Also means that there's someone behind Aizen (leading to the introduction of the Royal Guard to counter) and that Aizen is himself going down for good in the next few chapters. This would of course make Ichigo Saint Michael rather than Jesus for those not in the know.

Indeed. I don't dislike the idea of preplanning per se, just that Madara and Aizen demonstrated levels akin to prescience in some of the stuff they've done, because I have a feeling unlike Orochimaru and Yamato where the former didn't even know his plan had worked out after 60 attempts, Madara will have done it once with Nagato with certainty he'd be successful. I mean Danzou was just a joke, Kakashi is screwed within a few minutes of using his Sharingan but Root's Big Boss can have thirteen of them along with the First's abilities implanted and go toe to toe with Sasuke ? Consistency would be lovely.

Aizen's new look actually has me quite curious about his potential evolution. I don't want to go as far as saying "an existence which transcends Hollow", but he's definitely shifting further and further towards the Hollow side and those two extra Hollow holes are certainly making me curious. [strike]God damn I want my chapter naow![/strike] Holy crap that must be some kind of record for how fast you could read this week's chapter. Finished it and I thought I was only around page 9 or so. Plus side Aizen's new Hollow form doesn't look completely crap and will probably die next week leading to the Hyougoku taking him over and becoming the main villain.
-
Probably just an empty threat from me, but the level of omniscience we're seeing from two of WSJ's Big Three's villains is just starting to get on my nerves. Madara is starting to become exceptionally boring to me now if he did genuinely arrange/engineer for Nagato to inherit the Rinnegan. Given Kishi loves his Uchiha there's also little likelihood that we're going to see the same kind of turnabout as we did with Ichigo/Aizen in Bleach.
-
Funnily enough I think it's a good sign when you can't define who your favourite characters are in a series, because usually it hints that a series is written well enough that you want to see the progression of every character rather than a select few.
-
Apparently she wasn't in Akatsuki for nothing, though I am curious about the Rinnegan/Madara connection and I swear to God I will drop this manga if it's like Bleach where absolutely everything has been planned by the main villain, especially **** he could have no way of predicting.
-
Spoilers for this week
Bit of Grana/Matsuri but the focus is on Kagetora/Junas and apparently being in the world of PSI has pushed Kagetora firmly into invincibility territory.
Looking forward to see it, shame it always takes so long for Psyren to come out.
-
Indeed, though I have a feeling we're not going to see it at all during this fight.
-
So apparently
Aizen evolves again this week, is still supremely pissed at being injured by a mere human and the two scrap a little further before Ichigo goes to use Final Getsuga Tenshou in the last panel.
Nothing surprising, slightly disappointing in being so predictable.
-
While waiting is probably a good strategy CaNz, it doesn't really work if everyone waits and nobody posts. Given we have more Death Cards than characters at this point everyone is going to lose their characters, so it's really down to what happens afterwards but before the round ends.
