My favorite line in this chapter. It just reeks of Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore ("You son of a bitch ball! Why you don't you just go home? That's your HOME! Are you too good for your home? ANSWER ME! SUCK MY WHITE ASS BALL!"). It's my favorite line in Happy Gilmore, just because it's so cruel, mean-spirited, and humorous all at the same time, and it fits perfectly within the n00b Hunter universe, because I can imagine both you and Adam Sandler screaming that line at the door. XD
I was thinking the exact same thing when I read that line. Great chapter, it's given me a whole new mental picture of the N00b Hunter, I wait with eagerness to see how Juu does in her N00b Hunter training.

Do you consider yourself a pacifist or a warrior?
Gavin replied to elfpirate's topic in General Discussion
Interesting, most interesting. The vast majority of the time I would consider myself to be a pacifist, if there is a way to end a dispute logically without resorting to violence then I would much rather take that route. If a dispute was to turn violent and there was no way to prevent it then I suppose the role of a warrior is unavoidable, that is of course if you absolutely have to fight. I consider war itself to be a pointless endeavour, peace through superior firepower or military victory is no real peace at all, which is why there is conflict in countries where peace is brought about only after war. When a dispute is settled amicably and both sides feel they have been treated fairly and the terms are agreeable [with the exception of Extremists who are never happy], then there is no conflict afterwards. -
Interesting, most interesting. Honestly I found Mouse to be my favourite character from the original movie, something about his character did define what the Matrix was about. After all he did as Manic pointed out show us many of the truths behind the Matrix [even before we realised them] before Spoon Boy did. However his entertaining nature in the film is what made him a firm favourite for me, from his "pimping" of the Woman in Red to him actually going to far as to be staring at a centre-fold of her while jacked-in was quite funny. As well as that he did have one of the best deaths of any of the characters from the original film, although Dozer's death was also very heroic. Cypher to me actually represented a very interesting character, he wasn't actually evil he merely wanted to get out of the horrible existence he felt he was stuck in. Yes he turned into a very nasty character to try and get what he wanted [going so far as to kill Switch, Apoc, Dozer directly and indirectly Mouse] and he did represent many of the worse points about humanity but that was his role in the film, Neo is supposed to be everything good about humanity where as Cypher was meant to be everything bad.

Interesting, most interesting. Well I have to admit that of the potential films mentions here mine is going to sound a little strange but I'd very much like to see a movie based on Dilbert. Yes I can already guess that some people have raised an eyebrow either in intrigue or out of sheer bewilderment. However I still think that the engineer would be subject to quite an enjoyable big screen escapade [we've already had a Mr Bean movie], the Adam's comic strips are always good for a chuckle, and the TV series was quite good. After all the dire action comic/movie conversions we've had it's time to see another side of the genre.

Ah Curse of Monkey Island, my introduction to the series and still the funniest of them that I've played. Wally: Alright Threepwood hand over your wallet, or I'll drop to the floor and start weeping like a woman.

What OB members do you know, or would you like to meet in real life?
Gavin replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
Interesting, most interesting. There are a huge amount of people I'd love to meet off OB in real life, but chances are I'll only ever get the chance to meet those living in England, or the rest of the UK. In saying that I'll at least make an attempt at a list of people I'd enjoy meeting in real life, but please accept my sincere apologies if I miss anyone, just remember that I'd like to meet you too. OK here goes: Raiha: Because she's my wife and a really great person. Yoda: One of my oldest friends who sadly isn't online that much any more. MajinVegeta: My without a shadow of a doubt best friend on OB. Jokopoko: A very good friend and a master role-player all you need to do now Bill is accept it. Annie: One of OB's best role-players and a really great friend who's been there for me. Methuselah: Great role-player, great person and one of my first known fans [by known I mean I actually realised I had fans] Siren: One of the best debaters on OB, trying to beat him in a debate is like trying to debate against a child using "Why ?" as their every response. Drix: Another great debater who is sadly not around as much any more, I miss our AIM conversations. James: The God of OB and one of the most intelligent, wise and honest people I've met, meeting him would be a privelege. Boba Fett: Another old friend and one hell of a role-player, all we need do now is get another Old School Star Wars RPG going. Corey: Great person, great friend, great guy. Warlock: The original Overlord of The Arena, worship him because he deserves it. Deathknight: Really funny guy, even though I've known of him for years I only recently started speaking to him. I'd have liked to start speaking to him sooner if possible. DragonWarrior: Fellow unmercifully sexy Gavin, however his insolence in regard to my sweet "Interesting, most interesting" catchphrase has earned my wrath. Mimmi: Best hearted person EVER. Solo: Can't pin it down to one thing, well because he's so freaking cool should do. Zidargh: Another phenomenal role-player but like Bill he needs to accept and embrace his greatness. BaronSamedi: Awesome writer, debater and role-player. Shinmaru: Because the Shin-man is the dude, there is no compromise. Juuthena: A fellow oldie who I've never had the honour of speaking to, also she loves Star Wars which earns anyone big points in my book. Red: He's Irish, I'm Irish, we're from quite near one another, go figure. Arcadia: She's done such great work in The Arena and she's a really nice person. Radghast: Not around any more but a great role-player and a very kind human being. Reise: Because he'd like to meet me and says I'm "amazingly cool" although I have to admit I don't use 733T when it comes to writing as I find it unmercifully confusing. Anyone who is a fan of mine: I still don't feel I'm worthy of fans but drop my an IM any chance you get. Anyone who'd like to meet me: Because I'd like to meet you too. Oh Christ above I have a headache after that. -
My own opinions on the subject of abortion are pretty well known for anyone who's read any of the previous abortion threads. I believe that abortion is without question the murder of an innocent child, not simply the removal of an unwanted mass of tissue as some would argue. It really does astound me that someone can argue for the murder of children because that's what abortion is, we were all foetuses at one stage and we're all here now debating the rights and wrong of abortion, those children who have been aborted don't have that luxury. I'd also like to state that I completely agree with Dave's comments in regard to Kitty's post, abstaining from sex is the simplest and easiest way to avoid pregnancy. However is saying that those who do commit to sexual intercourse should realise the possible outcome of the action, having sex may lead to a child and those involved should be decent enough to raise and take care of it. Also I have to agree with Dave when he says that comparing abortion to helping the needy is "off topic" is rather an understatement. Just because "I won't ever meet them" simply isn't a reason not to help someone, being a decent human being means that we care about others less fortunate than us. Saying that allowing a child to enter the world is worse than helping those who have experiences suffering on the scale of those in East Asia and the homeless is honestly very disheartening. And I would actually care if a group of homeless people got shot because it's murder same as abortion is, but also because the loss of life is a tragic event regardless of the person's living conditions.

I actually didn't realise what this thread was about until I read the small preview from highlighting the hyperlink. I first heard about on when I was in hospital on the 27th, I just happened to be flicking through the channels when I stopped on Sky News, honestly the sheer destructive nature of this incident is simply horrifying. I just checked Sky News a few moments ago and the number confirmed dead is almost 130,000 though thanks to the response from governments around the world the threat of disease spreading seems to have been stopped, something which could have doubled the number of fatalities. This disaster does however show that when something of this nature does occur that people everywhere are willing to stand together to help those who have suffered. One report from earlier today showed how one town in England [Swindon I think] raised huge amounts of money and food/water as part of relief supplies, their dedication for what happened was truly inspiring. My only hope is that those who survived can find some comfort in the fact that the entire world both grieves with them and is working hard to save them from further harm.

Interesting, most interesting. Well I'm also going to have to play the cliché card of losing weight and getting healthy, it's time to reconvert my keg into a six-pack. Although it is cliché it's definitely something I have to put serious effort into, besides half my family have made the same resolution so there's no getting out of it. My only other major resolution is to really get involved in acting as a profession, after my fiasco of a year in 2004 I really need to try and get out of this limbo I'm stuck in. It took a lot of courage to actually admit to my family that I was going to pursue acting instead of going to college [as I was the only one going to go], but so far they've been really supportive. The last one actually pertains to Otakuboards, and put simply it's a commitment to get back to my roots in The Arena and get some new RPGs together. Actually getting into the prestigious Maverick Hunters series seems to have been the catalyst to actually get my working on this front.

Well I see that Dr Kane has returned to his old perspicacious form, although this attraction to a deadly assassin may complicate matters. I have to admit that living with Vicky and a pair of adorable and yet unruly pups would be enough for me to try and murder them using a fatal dose of Batwing Bladder-Bussles. Still this should be just as rib tickling and brain teasing as the first one was, and if we're really luck even more so.

Interesting, most interesting. Honestly I have a load of favourite movie quotes but most of them at this moment in time escape me, a few of them are taken from Tarantino films but that's only because QT writes such great lines. One thing I notice about the Blade films though is that even if the film itself a only average, there's always one great line in it. Alright, enough shite from yours-truly, on to the part where I actually give the quotes.
"I'm the one that needs to be saved, not that ottoman with a hood ornament. SAVE THE RAINBOW, SAVE THE RAINBOW"
- Rainbow Randolph [Death to Smoochy]
"Some mother****ers are always trying to iceskate up hill"
-Blade [Blade I]
"Are you going to bark all day little doggie, or are you going to bite."
-Toothpick Vic [Resevoir Dogs]
"You're mine, I ******' own you"
-Chilli Palmer [Get Shorty]
"It's chilly outside, it's chilly inside, it's a regular ******' chilly-fest"
-Ray Bones [Get Shorty] Actually I could really think of all that many, bah damn my bad memory. I'll probably come back here later with a new list.

Interesting, most interesting. Well since I can't drive my own experiences with road rage are limited to either being a passenger in a car, or being on my bicycle and being verbally abused by undesirable individuals. One particular incident that sticks out at my was the time I was going to town with my uncle Stephen earlier this year, actually it was pretty funny what happened. Basically Stephen pulled into a parking space ahead of some guy, now I'm around 6'1" and Stephen is 6'4" but because we were sitting in our seats the guy didn't know that. Anyway the guy gets out of his car and starts shouting about how Stephen cut him off, [blah, blah, blah, you know the story] so Stephen steps out of the car and they guy freezes. I mean he literally took one look at Stephen and just turned white, I was just sitting in the car in stitches laughing, not exactly a prime example of road rage but definitely unique.

The sound of his shoes echoed off the concrete floor. "Ain't you gonna sing along ?" "Fuck... you..." "Now that ain't nice..." Interesting, most interesting. I have to admit that I have a terrible memory so please forgive me if I miss some things. 1] Finally reaching 1000 posts: OK even though I didn't get a new user title for it it's still nice to reach a four figure post count. 2] Marrying Raiha: It may be a bit cliché but it definitely deserves a spot here. 3] Reaching 3 Years on OB: Another milestone, though knowing me I'll be here until 2010. 4] Version 7: It's been said a hundred times [well probably less] but I've been here since V3 and each one has brought great new things. 5] Meeting new people: I used to be a bit of a recluse, only talking to people I know well, however this year has given me the chance to make some great new people from OB. 6] Getting to see read of Gavynn's new comedy: There is not one year that goes by that Gavynn doesn't come up with at least one great piece of comic literature. 7] Annie's return: Speaks for itself. That's really it, again my bad memory may have made me miss some things.

Interesting, most interesting. The Simpsons has to be the most over-rated show for me, I've honestly begun to hate it with a passion because it's never original. The plots are always tired, the characters never change and the humour has just gotten predictable and old. I think the show has gotten to the stage where it relies pretty much on celebrity guest appearances [although I wouldn't call Simon Cowell a celebrity] to keep people from switching away. If they'd just add a bit of originality to the series it might be entertaining, because the characters never age there's never anything new to expect, ten years from now Lisa will still be 8. Everybody loves Raymond is actually an OK show, although I have to side with James Raymond himself can be a bit of an annoyance. The best interaction between characters comes between Ray and his brother, both are always trying to get one up on the other and it always ends hilariously. Ray's father and mother are also great characters although his father has to be slightly funnier in my own opinions, the typical grumpy old man who always has something negative to say.

Interesting, most interesting. I have to admit there's really only one film out this week that I'm interested in buying, that being Vin Diesel?s Chronicles of Riddick. I saw the film a few times before and I really enjoyed it, should make an excellent addition to my movie collection. As for King Arthur, I dub it to be one of the worst films ever made. Honestly just sitting down and watching the last thirty minutes of it was nearly enough to give me a stroke from its sheer dubiousness. I can only advise anyone thinking of renting or buying it to keep their money or rent a better film, and by better I mean anything other than this.

It was a toss up between Dave [Boba Fett] and Josh [Baron Samedi] but Dave's use of Yoda-esque speech just clinched it for him. Boba Fett you're up next.

Interesting, most interesting. I don't know why I even bother to reply to some threads in Play It when James has already posted as I inevitably agree with everything he says. James should just add a little tag at the end of his posts saying "Kane agrees with everything I have said here". Actually that mightn't work as there may be on some rare occasion as topic in Play It where James and myself disagree, anyway enough waffling from myself. Honestly I do think that Nintendo and Sega have had the biggest influence on the games market so far, I was to young to play the Atari so I can't really give my thoughts on it. Nintendo really have set the standards for about the last fifteen years, as James pointed out they did pretty much write the manual on how to build a controller pad. Nintendo have also been consistently pushing the bar in terms of creativity in gaming, they've never really stood still and said "OK we're happy with this so we'll stick here for a few years". Sega like Nintendo have always been active in terms of creativity, although they're no longer producing consoles I think that was actually a good idea, as they can concentrate on making games which is what they're best at. Sonic the Hedgehog had a huge influence on later platformers, almost as big an influence as Mario has had in my own opinion. Honestly I think Sega have had as phenomenal and effect on games as Nintendo have had on console designs in the last decade, although Nintendo too have had a huge effect on games. If we were to come along and bring things into the new millennium I think that other companies have also had massive impact on gaming. Rockstar pretty much rewrote the book on open-ended gameplay with the later Grand Theft Auto series [from 3 to San An], I remember being simply amazed when I first played 3 on Christmas Day a few years back. Other companies like Capcom and Ubisoft had continued to pump out games of excellent quality, Capcom getting their hands on the Legend of Zelda series was a great idea. Over all I don't think that in the last few years any one company has been responsible for all the improvements, although if we go back to the late 80s/early 90s there weren't many around producing/creating games.

Heh heh I've always enjoyed watching Little Britain, it's one of the few comedies on BBC that can really send you in fits of laughter [Dead Ringers and 2DTV being the others]. Daffyd or "the only gay in the village" is amusing, there's a lot of Graham Norton in him, although sometimes they do repeat his stuff a bit often. Lucas and Walliams are very good when they're actually together in a sketch, the ones between the carer and the disables fellow [I can't think of their names] are always predictable but funny. Anthony Stewart Head can be funny but I think when you look at him you see Giles as opposed to the Prime Minister, although that does tend to make it a little funnier. All and all it's a great little series and I really do enjoy it.
