Alright that's fair enough, I suppose we could have them being more friendly rivals than friends, which would allow them to kind joke together but also get under each other's skin sometimes. -
Van sighed as he heard Avlen's last remark, nothing could prepare these people for what they were going to face into, nothing, not training or prior knowledge or even the aide of God. He stood up and with a loud but clear cough gained the attention of all those sitting around the table, gazing into the eyes of each of them in turn he spoke in a stoic but calm voice. Van: I'm afraid that nothing you see here or read in Black Clearance dossiers will prepare you for what you're going into here. As Allen has informed you this will not be a case of pick up and go, each one of you here had better be ready to fight to the bitter end against any and all enemies. You cannot go into this with anything less than everything you've got, if you do then you're dead, these things don't understand compassion or mercy, they'll tear you apart and spit out your remains. Van watched as each of the new members eyes widened by Van's speech, but Van couldn't care if someone had a heart attack as long as they went in as prepared as they could, the last thing he wanted was to have see the remains of someone he cared about... again. He sat back down and took a large gulp out of his tea before exhaling with vigour, these people were his responsibility, SEALS or no SEALS they'd have to look out for each other on this trip. Allen: Van is 100% correct here people, this will more than likely be a fight to the death, and I for one would rather come out on top. I'd like you to go and familiarise yourselves with your respective area of the ship, we'll meet back in here for a progress report in 1hour exactly. If you do need to speak with someone use the intercoms provided. [Inhales] Dismissed...

Well I read this a few days ago though I hadn't the chance to post a reply until now, I agree with most people when they say that this is a phenominal little piece of work you've created here. The storyline is fantastic and all the castes are well thought out and written, the fact that it's based on a Warhammer 40,000 makes little difference except for the fact that I may need a helping hand when I join. The fact that the story itself is long makes very little difference in my mind, the level of detail you've give should quite literally cater for all those who wish to enter. I mean you've given people background information on everything they may need to post about. If this were to fail, though I couldn't fathom why I think it would make a very interesting novel if you were to give it the time. When you decide to enter this into the Square I'm sure there will be a hoard of people waiting to join.

Well I guess I'm number three who's had to be educated by Hugo on the timing for this RPG, otherwise I'd probably end up lost an alone for no reason, instead of being lost and alone because nobody likes me. Though that's not likely to happen is it ? [Hears crickets chirping] One a side note Hugo, the thing between Sabre and Vegi over the room would have occured a number of years ago, since they're both seniors now. I was wondering if we could do it so that Vegi and Sabre had gotten over being enemies and maybe become friends since Vegi is one of the few people who doesn't want to kill Sabre. -
Well this is a change from your usual run-of-the-mill thread Corey, but I can see it being entertaining. --------- Van's eyes drifted from each of the women in the new crew, he wondered if he stood a chance with any of them. Allen had been the ladies man on the previous mission but with him safely incapacitated with industrial-strength laxative, it was Van turn at bat though he wondered if he could still charm them like he used to. Van: [Without thinking] So do any of you ladies find me attractive ? [eerie quiet where everyone's staring at Van] Alright moving on to new business I'd like to call off the investigation into Allen's mysterious sickness, it is obvious a mere case of gas and he should be fine. Sam: Ah Van there was no investigation but as you bring it up, it might be a good idea to hold o... [Lights go out for 4 seconds and then come back on to find Sam dead with a fork in his throat] Van: [Non-chaulently] Eh... I told him not to eat so quickly... Trini: Maybe we should go and check on Allen, he's been away for a while now... Van: Good idea, I'll go find him and check up on him myself... [Gets up out of chair and goes to find Allen] Allen: Oh Van there you are... [groan loudly] Uhhh I feel awful... [Grips stomach] Is there anything you can... [Microphone hitting Van in the head] Van: OH FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, I though you fired that idiot already, that is it, if anyone wants me I'll be in my trailer. Director: CUT !!! PHIL PACK UP YOUR GEAR 'CUS YOU'RE FIRED. [Roof of the set caves in killing all the other actors except Kane and KoTR] Oh great now we need to start shoot all over again... --------- OK not great maybe I should stick to Drama.
Kane: Sage is slightly winded from the spell, and is caught unawares by the Giant Orc. He isn't actually struck, but shaken. It is dubious that he can destroy the Giant Orc on his own, except with a simple Trap, maybe. Paralyzing him somehow could work as well. More Fiends will be arriving shortly, so it'd be best for the three Spellcasters in the area to be heading out soon. The Troop Dragons travel in a large swarm most of the time, and somehow replicate themselves when one is destroyed. Dain is holding their attention while the Fiends get closer. As soon as the Fiends all arrive, Dain, Flare, and Sage ought to leave and let them fight it out. The Dark Magician is commanding the Spellcasters that had been Shifted to where the Troop Dragons were.
Alright so is there any particular way you'd like me to conduct the fight or is it up to myself, I was thinking I might use his Lightforce Sword special ability and then maybe an Acid Trap Hole to finish him off. Though after this Sage would be pretty weak and not able to help Flare apart from as a distraction maybe...

Van eyes darted from one member of the crew to the next, Sam's "outburst" has made the air a little thicker but what they were going into made this seem like a friendly chat. Jako, he'd read up enough on this fellow to make it a worthwhile endeavour to keep an eye on him, if he even looked at Van's medical supplies the wrong way he'd be taking a trip out of an airlock without a suit. Allen had given him a slight introduction but he felt as if he needed to enlighten some of the newcomers on why he was second in command. Van: Well as Allen has pointed out, I am Van Ambrose the Chief Medical Officer of this ship. [Turns to Yako and Steffanie] Miss Littleton and Mr Van der Westheisen you will be reporting directly to myself or my assistant Miss Angelo for the duration this mission. As Allen has pointed out, he is the ranking officer on this mission and as such there will be no pulling rank except by himself or I. [Looks to Miss Thomas and Mr Hendrix] And as I hold the rank of General I believe we are all clear on that as of this moment. Van sat back down with a fierce look in his eyes, he wouldn't take any chances, not this time, this time they were coming home with a full crew and plenty of survivors from Deimos. He rubbed one hand through his hair while staring down at the table, a habit he'd stopped doing just before the Bladerunner mission, when he got back from this one he was looking to settle in to some long R&R without a care in the world. Trini placed her hand on his back as he did this and he looked up at her, she was a beautiful woman, he wondered why he'd never seen it before though he soon realised it was because of the age difference between them. Allen and Satell had become very close in the last mission, he wondered if it would happen between himself and Trini this time... Allen coughed and broke Van's chain of thought before he continued on with what he was talking about.

Sorry for taking so long Hugo but I'm back and ready to rumble. September 5th - 07:15 (7:15 A.M.) Vegi's head ached with one wicked hangover, he promised himself that this would be the last time he'd do something like that, but for Vegi this was something which happened on an almost weekly basis. Lying in the middle of his Well-Beyond-King size bed he forcefully opened his eyes before shutting them at the blinding light outside, that was before he noted the distinct and dutiful cough of his man-servant. Jeeves was standing over him in his typical straighter-than-a-ruler posture holding a glass of water and a pair of aspirin for his master, Vegi wondered what he'd do without Jeeves. He took both and thanked him before downing the whole lot and awkwardly trying to get out of bed, it was only when Jeeves reminded him that today was his first day in a new term that the tablets seemed to have any effect. Vegi: [Groans loudly] Oh you're not serious, What time is it ?, Where are my clean clothes ?, Are my books ready ?... [Goes on with another few dozen questions before settling down] Jeeves: [Completely devoid of emotion and speaking in posh British accent] It is exactly 7:19 A.M., your clothes are in your wardrobe as usual and your books are in your bad down stairs. Breakfast will be served in 15 minutes after you've had your shower and got on some clean clothing. Escorting his young employer to the en-suite Jeeves stood waiting for his dirty bedclothes before leaving to get his master's breakfast ready. Vegi was a little settled down now and had even managed to forget about his hangover, either that or Jeeves had given him Industrial-strength painkillers. Shower with as great a haste as possible he managed to put toothpaste in his hair and shaving foam on his toothbrush, swearing he managed to clean and dry himself off before making his way over to his mammoth sized wardrobes. Managing to rip off the doors with his super human strength Vegi cursed loudly before removing his signature tan coloured jeans, navy blue t-shirt and white and navy trainers. Attempting to race down the stairs only to trip and nearly kill himself Vegi managed to make it down into the kitchen with just a minor concussion and several bruises. Surviving this obvious attempt at assassination, he sits down only to find a bowl of porridge place infront of him. Poking dubiously at it he asks Jeeves in a less than polite manner why Jeeves has given him porridge instead of something he'll actually eat. Jeeves: It is for your own good Master Vegitible, now eat up or you'll be late for school. Vegi: [Grumbles quietly] Stupid porridge, more likely to be used in laying a house foundation that a breakfast. [Tastes a small bit] I'll get you for this Jeeves. Fast Forward September 6th - 00:40 After a long and arduous day of doing nothing other than getting his Timetable and familiarising himself with the new students, whom he'll end up either beating up or having to beat off with a stick as they try to follow him around. Sitting one of the many benches in the sports field he closes his eyes before being jumped from behind by a hairy and yet familiar were-wolf... ------ Not a great post I know but it's bloody hard to write an intro post when you're so out of shape.

And with regard to what Kane said about Anakin getting thrashed by Obi-Wan, which seems improbable based on the extent to which we see Anakin's force powers rising in Episode II… Maybe it's not a fair fight.[/spoiler']
Well I'm just going by what I've read in his Biography in StarWars.com Dave, perhaps it's not a fair fight or perhaps Anakin is so convinced of his superiority to Obi-Wan that it leads to his downfall.

Perhaps Anakin kills Jar Jar after almost beating Obi-Wan and then is corroded near to death by Gungan stomach acid…[/spoiler']
We'd be lucky to see the demise of that clumsy, stupid wretch though more than likely he'll stay on as a Senator or get killed by his own people for being such in idiot.

Van's eyes adjusted as the lighting level rose in his new Sick Bay, his thoughts drifted back to the Bladerunner when he had to perform emergency surgery on Satell. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before proceeding forward with Trini, one of the first things that he noticed was how heavy duty the Sick Bay was. To Van this meant one of only two things, either they were expected some very heavy casualties or the people running this show were being very, very cautious. He noted that Trini was also a little shaken by the new Sick Bay, obviously bringing up some bad memories, he wrapped his arm around he and brought her over to their desks. He noted that there were not two but four separate desks in the sick bay, one for Van, one for Trini and obviously there were two others to come. His slid his free hand over the wood veneer of his desk, it felt cold but familiar and Van began to breath a little easier. His eyes continued to scan the room, there was a lot of next generation equipment here and even a few prototypes that he knew didn't "officially" exist. He laughed noticing that they'd installed a hot beverage machine in the wall between the two sets of desks, Trini's eyes must have seen it at the same time because she gave a weakened chuckle. Van took out a pair of mugs as Trini got the machine ready for one cup of tea and a cup of coffee. Van: [Laughs softly]Well at least we're not going without necessities. Trini: [Smiles] Yeah battling Aliens is one thing but not having a regular supply of caffeine can't be accepted. Sipping away at his drink he saw Trini go to sit at her new desk, her hands breezed across the keys of her medical console before she nodded to Van that they should get back to Allen and Co. As they left Van slid his palm across the scanner to close the doors behind them, moving along through the endless white metallic corridors Van heard noise coming from the new Mess Hall. Entering the room they found the others sipping away at different drinks while Allen was holding some kind of introduction, Van nodded as he sat in his seat, if he was going to have to treat these people he at least wanted to know their names.

Alright we'll say then it had an extended nap then and besides it seems as if Boba is making a comeback, which would be most welcome.
The fight scene between Obi-Wan and Anakin is meant to be one of the highlights of Ep. III though there is one little things that bothers me. If Anakin becomes Sidious's apprentice he's obviously going to kill Dooku or Dooku will be killed in the course of the film. However when in Ep. II Anakin was fighting Dooku he did a far better job than Obi-Wan (except of course for the whole "I'll out-stretch my arms so you can cut one off). But then in Ep. III when he fights Obi-Wan he gets absolutely thrashed (which is why he needs all those cybernetic implants to keep him alive in Eps. IV, V, VI). I mean I know that Obi-Wan is a master of the Lightsaber but it just seems odd that he should be so easily able to beat Anakin in a duel. Still I can't wait to see it.

Well this was basically and idea I've been playing around with since people lost interest in a similar thread by ChibiHorsewoman. The premise is very similar except for the fact that instead of matching three movies to an actor or actress, in this one you match three actors or actresses to a movie, I'll give an example and we'll move on from there. Example James Cromwell Danny DeVito Kevin Spacey Answer: L.A. Confidential Now that was a relatively easy one but I would ask people that if they post here that the people they choose should not have a very, very small role as to give people a chance. You could include one perhaps but no more. OK here we go. Cast Members Liam Neeson Alan Rickman Aidan Quinn Answer: ___

I am personally very happy to see Halle Berry make an exit from the X-Men and general Comic to Movie genre in general. She's a capable actress true but she's too much of a diva and that's something which many films really don't need especially if they're relying on great story and not a famous cast to sell a film. I've seen the trailers for Catwoman and that's all of the film I intend to see unless I'm drugged and hauled screaming into see that pile of manure. The fact that Bryan Singer has moved to the multi-sequelled Superman franchise is a little sad in my opinion, I agree with Manic 100% when he says that Superman has been done for all it'll do and that taking such a talent away from the now maturing X-Men saga is pretty sad. I hope that the new crew behind X-Men 3 will be able to keep up the steam and up the quality that seems to come with Marvel sequels.

I'm still pretty much stuck in the Rock/Metal genre for the last 2/3 years so this list is going to be no real surprise to anyone familiar with said genre. I'm going to list them in no particular order as it's pretty hard to decide which band in my over-all favourite as they're all brilliant. - Metallica - One of the first Metal Band I got into, I've been following these guys for a long time, I recently added their Black Album and Garage Inc. to my collection after a friend of my took back his CDs. I wouldn't be a great fan of their new work and I prefer stuff from the area of say Load when they were big but their music hadn't become typical of the genre of Metal. James Hetfield has one brilliant voice for the vocals a Metal group and Ulrich is one of the best drummers I've heard so far. - Thin Lizzy - I've heard Thin Lizzy in various forms for the last decade (particularly the song The Boys are Back in Town) but I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never actually bought one of their CDs until a few months back. I think they are simply one of the greatest bands ever and it is swayed in no way due to the fact that they are Irish in origin (well maybe a little), Phil Lynott is a different kind of vocalist to Hetfield but I think he does the job just as well for Thin Lizzy's style. - Drowning Pool - I actually got into these guys a year or so ago after hearing their music on Jet Li's The One. I actually only heard recently that one of the members of the band died which shows exactly how out of touch I am but it's the music than counts in the end. I'm vexed when I hear the sweeping remark that they're pretty typical of the genre but these guys stood out for me even though I don't own even a single CD belonging to them. - Linkin Park - I've only ever heard a few songs by Linkin Park that I didn't like which goes a hell of a lot further than many other newer bands like them. I got a lend of a CD off a friend of mine a few years ago when they first become popular in Ireland (I've only an absolutely crap Music Store where I live), again they seem to take some cues from earlier bands like Thin Lizzy and Metallica but in the end is that really something bad... - Guns 'N Roses - Again I hang my head in shame as I say that I've only had the chance to get acquainted with recently, I'm still in the process of listening to some of their songs but from what I've heard so far they definitely earn a place on the list here. Well that's it, but it seems the old trend of the older, they are the better is in my humble opinion...

I have the "distinct" pleasure of starting in a new school in a fortnight, I know absolutely nobody so I'll be starting afresh again, though there are several advantages to this I'm still pretty nervous. Interestingly enough I actually started out in the Primary School next to the High School I'm heading into but that was just over 10 years ago and I'm sure things have changed. After the injury to my neck forced me to leave my previous school I decided it would be a little too awkward to go back and have to see everyone I know a year ahead of me. I've had to change schools and leave my friends behind twice before but this time seems different because I was actually enjoying school and now I have to start from scratch again.

Oh yeah I revive the thread and then go away for a few days and suddenly everyone is back to post, only kidding I'm glad to see this hasn't died yet. Yeah I remember playing Star Wars pretty clearly, my brother and I used to buy those plastic swords in shops, David would always buy red and I'd buy green (since they had no blue ones). My brother has some fascination with the Dark Side, similar to my constant affiliation with the Light Side of the Force, if memory serves his anger would often let him beat me (than and he had a nasty temper back then). Good wholesome fun than often ended in my shouted "OK I give, I give", later we moved on to Star Wars console games and he still beats me most of the time on Jedi Outcast but it's still good fun. Maybe I'm the only one here but I think the Episode III title
Revenge of the Sith
is really weak, I mean I know it's about the
revenge of the Sith
but some on there has to be a better title than that. Incidentally I learned that Return of the Jedi was originally to be called Revenge of the Jedi but Lucas decided that "Return" sounded (and fitted in terms of the Jedi) far better than the term "Revenge". Even though it's not out until 2005 I'm eagerly awaiting the Lightsaber duel between
A Dark Side seduced Anakin and Obi-Wan
, it's meant to be absolutely brilliant and if it's as good as the Dooku/Yoda fight I'll be quite satisfied. Anyone else have further thoughts ?

1. What were your favorite toys (if you had any)? Transformers, plain and simple. I was absolutely addicted to those guys and their TV counter-parts in the early 90s [Hums theme music]. I can't seem to find any of my old ones anymore which is a pity but when I did collect them my collection was a mean sight to behold. I reckon I must have had every Transformer made and since I was older than my little brother by 2.5 years he wasn't much fun so it was just me and the ‘Bots and ‘Cons. Other than Transformers I was pretty big into Action Man by the time my brother was actually old enough to play with me, we used to have a lot of fun since we had about 20 Action Men altogether and get into big wars with them and the like. Lego was my little brothers craze and although I did enjoy playing with the Lego with him, it was never really my thing. 2. What did you think of the toys then? Best thing since sliced bread, the Transformers were without a doubt one of the coolest things I'd ever come across in my short life (well at that stage). The Action Men were great also but they couldn't compete with the Transformers for sheer coolness at that age. Lego on the other hand was something different to both of the other two, there was something engrossing about just Lego, we'd sit and play for maybe eight hours straight just building and building before finally getting down to the eventual war. 3. What do you think of the toys now? I still think the Transformers as pretty wicked although I'd save my money for some new CDs or DVDs rather than buy one. Lego is still good fun and my brother and I sometimes play for a few hours with it (like Tuesday two weeks ago). Action Man on the other hand has seen a rapid loss in the Cool-Meter gone down with Power Rangers and other things I'd not be caught dead talking about. 4. What do you think of the stereotypes that some toys seem to encourage? I don't really feel that Toys create a stereotype though there is the defined Boys play with Lego/Cars/Transformers etc., Girls play with Barbie/Whatever. I don't know if this is a bad thing and I've no objections to it though if my smaller male cousins began playing with Barbies I'd be slightly worried to say the least...

I'm sorry it's taken this long to get here but I'm back and ready to rock. Van eyes flickered as the light shone through the blinds of his window, his breath was rank from the night before after settling into an old habit of working through ‘til dawn. He could hear the distant sound of his phone ringing and jumped or rather tumbled our of his bed in a vain attempt to retrieve the communications device. Van: Hang on... Hang on... [Phone stops ringing] Ah damn it... He rubbed his eyes before taking in his surroundings fully, the apartment he was staying in was luxurious enough but he'd trade it all for the simple ability to wake up on time. Stripping off he headed for the shower to get ready for the mission, even as the hot water poured over him he felt a tingle down his spine, anxiety, he had a good reason to be anxious if this was to be anything like his previous mission. He ran his hands down over his upper-body, it had changed a lot in a month along with everything else. Drying himself off he headed for the kitchen to get a bite to eat and a cup of tea before he met up with the others. Luckily he'd made a sandwich the night before and pretty soon he was clothed, dry and fed, not bad for 30 minutes. Quickly heading towards the phone he redialled Trini's mobile hoping that she hadn't taking his earlier mishap personally. Her sweet voice echoed on the other end of the phone as he foolishly tried to explain why he was late. Trini: [Laughs] Another late night Van.. if you don't hurry up Allen is likely to leave without you... [giggles] Van: Heh, don't tempt me, I'd be perfectly happy to let him do it if the military will let me retire after this, tell Allen I'll be there in about 10 minutes. Trini: [Chuckles] Drive safely Van: I will... Quickly grabbing his keys he made his way down to Reception asking them sent anything left in the room to the USAF under the name of General Gavin Ambrose. The clerk nodded before Van make a hasty exit down to the car park, putting his foot down on the accelerator Van was glad that he was covered by military insurance. His Audi had been provided for him by the Irish Embassy and he had no intention of having the cost deducted from his pay check, 9 and a half minutes and 8 red lights later Van was outside Hanger 13 looking at a ginning Allen and a rather surprised looking Trini. Trini: You don't joke about do you ?
