Pretty much in the same boat, Yuki and the other Foddergami haven't added anything to the plot that Hanatarou couldn't have, and Hanatarou at least would be a familiar face whose established can be badass (or at least brave) when he needs to be. Even worse he seems to be being set up as an apprentice character to Ichigo and will likely go on to eventually fill the now vacant 2nd Seat in the 1st Division. Imoyama's utter lack of notability as a Shinigami doesn't at all endear me towards his students being anything other than utterly mediocre in the face of the officers and Captains we have seen already. Sasakibe's death was pretty much a plot device for Kubo to take advantage of. The SOULs databook implied he was Captain-class Shinigami with bankai and his position as 1st Division Vice Captain makes him being fatally wounded while in bankai against Vandenreich forces seem a legitimate kill for the new villains while at the same time Sasakibe's lack of a fandom means Kubo doesn't have to worry about upsetting fans. Pretty much the same reasoning that makes me dread Komamura coming up against them because he would be one of the easiest kills among the Captains (and Love is there to step back into his old division same as Shinji, Rose and Kensei). Buckbeard/Vandenreich Emperor is however probably my favourite antagonist design so far, simply because he isn't a bishie or border bishie like Aizen and Tsukishima or Ginjou. I'm not particularly inclined to believe that simply defeating Halibel won him the loyalty of Hueco Mundo, because it implies a social hierarchy that was pretty much stated to be artificially created and sustained by Aizen and thus logically would not survive him, and also because the Halibel's Aspect of Death coupled with her Hollow hole location (uterus), Buckbeard casual execution of Luders and Ivan and then his statement he can just "get new Arrancar any time he wants" while moving to Halibel hints at something a lot more sinister.

Eh, I'm still a bit leery on Dragon Sage Mode, if only because I really dislike the idea of all three Sannin having had their own versions of it. The proliferation of "ultimate techniques" like SM/MS/EMS/Mokuton/Rinnegan to different characters diminishes their originality in the name of giving subsequent users a wow factor. I didn't want Kabuto to get obliterated by the Uchiha brothers by any regard but this was a step in the wrong direction. [Edit] Oh, and Karen being an Uzumaki, that **** was lame. Next Gaara and Mei will turn out to be Uzumaki and Sakura is a half-breed.

Happy New Year everyone.

Wow, in the space of one chapter Kubo managed to pretty much annihilate any development which had occurred at all and make this arc utterly pointless outside of "Ichigo got his powers back". The Fullbringers despite having had so much potential as characters, even as recently at the previous chapter have all been utterly neutered into the standard "I was alone, but now I realise I had friends" and "The Heart" that we've seen occur with God only knows how many villains already in Bleach. Pretty much all of them surviving outside of Giriko and Ginjou (and possibly Tsukishima depending on how the final scene is viewed), especially Jackie who actually had a poignant death scene, ruins damn near any meaning at all their characters had, especially when apparently despite being a collective of misfit psychos and sociopaths with superpowers they're being allowed to just roam free with no repercussions. It's just maddeningly irritating because yet again Kubo has chickened out of giving an arc a meaningful end where characters die and stay dead.

Eh didn't much care for this one to be honest. Bijuu having their own names to go along with their individual identities makes some level of sense but the Yonbi being Son Goku is a little weird given Enma already covered pretty much that whole concept, unless Yonbi somehow spawned the monkey/ape summon clan that Enma is a part of. Equally the way Goku talks makes it sound as if they've always had their own names and personalities, and that if the collective Shinobi community had just tried communicating with them things would've gone much more smoothly than the reality of "We're essentially spirit shards of the most powerful and evil entity ever and our very natures push us towards being chaotic destructive forces of nature at the best of times". Unless Kishi has pulled a retcon on us we know that Bijuu only develop personalities outside of "Hate, kill, destroy!" when their chakra is controlled/purified the way Bee did with the Hachibi. If Bee and Hachibi have been so tight for so long why are we only learned now that Bijuu have their own names. I'm also convinced Talk no Jutsu is actually "That Jutsu" if Naruto is going to be able to use it on Bijuu. Hopefully things will be clarified in the next few weeks, seeing as Jump is on a break but this one was a bit lame for me.

I generally try to be respectful or neutral, only really nipping at him if I really like the sound of the line. Frankly I can't wait to
drop Vette for the Padawan companion.

Yeah Baras can be pretty damn scary when he wants to be.
You remember that bit where he's interrogating the Republic spy before and roars that he can't break him?
I literally backed away from my screen over that.

Cheers Tulas. Were you just making the decisions you agreed with at the time, as opposed to say aiming to be neutral overall? I was full Light Sided and even I have to admit I was surprised by some of the LS vs DS decisions in the beginning.

I guess preorders must have been higher than even BioWare expected if they're increasing headstart by two days to make sure there'es a steady flow of players to the servers. Preordered a CE on the third day they became available so I'm hopeful I'll get in on the first EU wave.

Wow, this chapter actually made me empathise a lot more with Ginjou than I was expecting. The guy is quite a deep villain in the end.

Given we're only two weeks from official launch I figured I'd plug this thread a bit again. I have since my last post had the opportunity to actually beta the game twice, last weekend and the weekend before playing almost the entirety of both weekends with my usual partner in MMO crime Jokopoko for anyone who remembers him. In the end I did decide to disband the guild and join up with some former guildies from WAR however depending on how things go with that post launch we might see about the viability of the guild again at some point. I won't say something like "the game itself is everything I hoped it would be", because frankly without five-hundred million dollars of a budget, James Luceno and Matthew Stover supervising all of BioWare's writers and Mythic and BioWare's best working in perfect sync that wasn't going to happen. But it is still very, very good in terms of story and bringing a sense of single-player expansiveness to the MMO genre. The voice acting does indeed bring a completely new dimension to the way in which you quest, you do grow more attached, or more against NPCs now that they actually properly interact with you, heck that's not even discussing how much you enjoy your own character responding to them. I'm not really going to discuss the actual class quests themselves because I don't want to spoil them on people, but I've actually found myself quite taken with both the Sith Inquisitor and Sith Warrior storylines though the Jedi are not far behind and really all of them start out with a bang. Having parties split Light Side and Dark Side as Joko and I experienced on my LS Warrior and his DS Agent can lead to significant moments of tension with teams. Class wise, unfortunately here I'm not entirely able to sing BioWare's praises because there are some issues. Right know if you're planning to play Jedi Guardian or Sith Juggernaut advanced classes know that we are (because I play both a JG and an SJ) the least effective tank in the game due to our lack of AoE threat generation and mediocre DPS and utility. BioWare have said they're working on it, but frankly after they "worked" on the Jedi Sentinel and Sith Marauder (the other two JK and SW ACs) there are still a lot of complaints that the overall JK class underperforms relative to the other three (and their mirrors). There's a lot of intelligent feedback on the forums and I hope BioWare takes good account of it when working on JG/SJ fixes. It's not impossible to play as a Jedi Knight, but you will have an easier/more satisfying time with other classes (especially Trooper/Bounty Hunter). I genuinely think this is one of the key issues BioWare needs to deal with in the next fortnight, because pretty much anyone can tell them the JK and SW are going to be two of their biggest drawing classes and having them play significantly less "heroically" is a bad move whatever way you look at it. Away from doom and gloom, the rest of the game is very well polished. I've run 3 different flashpoints without issue (though I would say, if you don't have a healer companion, getting a healer character makes thing so much easier). PvP wise I only played Huttball the once, but it seemed hilariously fast-paced and once we began to actually understand how to play it (and not just dog-pile onto each other attacking) it became a rather competitive match. Crafting I only did last weekend, picking up Artificing (making components for lightsabers, and off-hand stuff for single-saber classes), Archaeology (Picking up materials for Artificing, usually crystals but you can send companions on missions) and Slciing (earns you credits basically). Got to about 100 in each out of 400 overall, and while interesting and kind of fun, I'm not sure how useful they'll be to you at your current level unless you specifically develop them way beyond your current level (like say 200 in each before you get your ship) or better still have an ally supplying you with blue materials/schematics to make the stuff when you need it. I am getting more into crafting as an activity in MMOs but those were just my experiences as opposed to "this is definite fact!, maybe I just went about it arseways. All in all I think SWTOR is a great game, if you're an uber Star Wars nerd like me there will be bits of lore which make you sigh from time to time but when the alternative is not game at all, well it's easy to put that aside. A tad too similar to WoW IMO, but as someone who never played WoW competitively and as a WAR player was militantly against our great competitor I may be biased. Character creation is a little weak, but AFAIR BioWare have said the creation tool for beta is not the same as for launch.

han ki-tae, While it's great you're so eager to get involved in various projects, please consider the viability of offers you're making. DragonRider11's request went out in January 2009 and he has not visited the site since June 2009 so it's very unlikely the project is still active. If the requester has not been active in the last few days/a month tops it's best to leave them. Also if you wish to reply to multiple active projects, please use the one post rather than several consecutive posts. -Gavin.

The problem for me is that they aren't even really the previous Jinchuuriki, they're the Six Paths (which we've seen twice within the last 10/12 chapters) with the Jin's powers and none of their personalities. Sure some of them we saw bits of before but frankly I'm getting tired of Kishi and his doujutsu wank.

I'm more curious to be honest about how Ginjou has activated bankai. I don't really buy into Ishida's "He stole all your powers yo!" because if that was the case logically Ginjou's bankai would look identical to Tensa Zangetsu (or whatever it is now). He hasn't left his body or overtly activated a shikai or anything so it's rather puzzling.

Pretty cool chapter this week (barring the utter trolling that ended the previous chapter). I have to admit I'm far more interesting in seeing more about Tobi than I am the Jinchuuriki Royal Rumble, though I get the feeling we're also going to see the Kyuubi take a more active role in the coming fight. I actually get the distinct feeling Bee and Naruto may lose this one, given to advance the plot to the next logical stage Tobi/Madara has to actually capture and extract all 9 Bijuu unless Naruto somehow takes them into himself in order to repeat the sealing technique of the Rikudo Sage (although the former may precede the latter and lead directly into it).
