I was actually just thinking myself Isshin is looking considerable more buff than before, evidently he is Yama-ji's most successful student. As to whether or not Aizen actually has been planning everything from the very beginning, I still think he's bluffing. Yes, he's a chessmaster of the highest order apparently but even he couldn't control the outset and variables of every fight that Ichigo has been through. Kenpachi's kendo, Ikkaku's bankai, his own hollowification, his own bankai training, the fights with the Espada each of these could easily have ended with Ichigo being killed. Hell Aizen himself stated his intent to kill Ichigo at the execution grounds failed. I really hope that this doesn't fall in with the two bodies in Szayel's lab as to be addressed once and never again. As for what Ichigo is a hybrid of, seems general opinion is Hollow, followed by Royal, neither of which I agree with for the moment (though I would lean closer to the former of the two). While Aizen has been fascinated by the relationship of hybridization between Shinigami and Hollows, sexual reproduction between them (given the way most Hollows look) would seem impossible unless they'd been vaguely Shinigamified first. So the question now becomes, half what ?

Hmm seems the plot is picking up once again, all conversation but still more movement than we've seen in the last few chapters. Lol for Kakashi, poor guy's never going to make Hokage.

Suppose I should've got around to replying to this a few days ago but whatever. Enjoyed a relatively quiet day, watched the city parade during the day and fireworks that night, which was probably the highlight as I love fireworks. Didn't drink (because I don't) and thankfully didn't come across anyone in dire straits.

If they can pull off something similar to the live-action Death Note movie it won't be so bad, but I don't think Bleach is something which will translate well to the silver screen. So a tentative from me. -

I'm still not that pleased with the revelations from this week's chapter, I still think Kisame had a pretty good death but I can understand the logic behind this move. Sasuke taking the eyes specifically to defeat Naruto is unsurprising either really (feeds into my inflict my viewpoint comment from before) though I think this now hints Naruto is going to get another big power-up or learn some new sage-form skills. Sakura is pretty much back to where she was after the team first encountered Sasuke after the timeskip, nice to know any development she's gained has been negated. Back to perfecting your sandwich-no-jutsu and beer-summon jutsu then woman.

I have to admit I found the chapter to be particularly disappointing overall. I mean if the Hyougoku can pretty much negate any damage done to Aizen then why was he even the least bit concerned about anything Yama-jii could pull on him ? Yet again it feels like an asspull, we've never seen the Hyougoku to have any kind of defensive abilities, and given Urahara made the damn thing you'd think he'd have warned someone that "Oh by the way if Aizen merges with it, he's pretty much invincible". I don't believe Aizen has been manipulating Ichigo from the very start either, if only because he didn't even seem to become aware of him until late in the Soul Society arc and even then he referred to him as Urahara's minion in a very general way. Likely we'll get another talky chapter out of Aizen next week which will clear up some things but honestly I think we really need to get away from this "You've activated my trap-card" style for Aizen because it kills any sense of action. Hopefully Isshin, Ryuken and Urahara and co. aren't too far away from turning up.
Yeah, that's my main concern at the moment. I mean it's not like Aizen's a psychic, but one can assume that he put 2 and 2 together and figured out that Ichigo beat Ulquiorra since he is there with them. But then again that don't explain how Aizen knows about that deus ex transformation... I'm looking forward to hearing this explanation for sure.
The only thing I could think of is that somehow having the hyougoku within him allows him to track/observe those he's used it on. Either that or he has a mobile version of his security centre which honestly may be a bit more likely, though the fight did occur outside Las Nochas which sort of torpedoes that theory too.

/facepalm While I know the Zetsu body-clone thing has been done before (twice actually), having it occur after quite a good fight such as occurred between Bee and Kisame seems like a major cop-out. Kisame went out better than quite a few of his fellow Akatsuki peers but I guess fish-face is still useful or something. Sasuke finally taking Itachi's eyes was to be expected, like Madara he's found he desires to inflict his own viewpoint on the world more than anything and to do that he's going to need the EMS. I'm now more convinced than ever he's going to ally himself genuinely with Madara's plan. The fact he's also made killing Naruto one of his goals should also prove interesting. Then of course there was the best thing about this chapter, the inevitable return.
That's just BS now. He's both Batman and Superman.... New spoilers... I think we get answers about Ichigo's progression. I was in a rush so I didn't get the chance to fully read them. Edit: 396 spoilers
\爺さんが自己犠牲の様な技 一刀かそう? It seems Yama sacrificed himself with his attack. (Single Stroke Cremation) 腕一本クロ焦げになりながら撃ったような事を愛染さんがかんがえて Aizen contemplates the attack as one of his arms is charred. いた所にイチゴの一撃が決まるが宝玉を身体に埋め込んだ Ichigo's attack connects, but Aizen has embedded the hyougoku in himself 愛染さんには一切きかない and is completely unaffected. 今までイチゴが戦闘してきた事を話はじめ He begins to talk about Ichigo's battles up till now. 例 GJとの戦闘で仮面をマスターし 4との戦闘で新しい力も目覚めたようだね The fight against GJ where he mastered his mask, and against Ulq where new powers we awakened. 黒崎苺~君は私の手のひらの上で踊らされていた事に~ Kurosaki Ichigo-kun, I've been manipulating you in the palm of my hand. ってな所で完です The end.

Yup, like I said, SS never had any real chance against him. Regarding the spoilers, I'm somewhat sorry Yama-jii's death has been confirmed but when I was looking back on the chapter yesterday I realised his beard had been mostly burned off taking that hit, and that must've been pretty fatal to him to loose his beard. I'm somewhat curious how the hyougoku can now block attacks, given that's a power it never demonstrated before and makes little sense given Soul Society's original idea was to burn it out of Rukia with the soukyoku. As for Aizen's most recent mindscrew with Ichigo, it too calls into question exactly how Aizen even knows about his fight with Ulquiorra given he was in FKT at that time. Heh early spoilers always raise as many questions as they answer it seems.

Before anyone says anything, yes I know double-posting is against the rules. However I believe the evidence I have acquired is of such significance it requires its own individual post. So far in Bleach we've marvelled and cursed Aizen's brilliance in roughly equal measures, but there can be no denial of the sheer mastery of his mind-screwing, chess-mastery and Xanatos Gambetry. What we have lacked is a real, tangible source for exactly why Aizen is this good, well, I think I've found it, and it'll shatter your very perceptions. Yes, Aizen is in fact the dead version of Batman, Soul Society never had any hope of winning.

While I still don't like the way Aizen was able to negate Ryuujin Jakka which even worse apparently went to the extent Yamamoto can't ever activate it again I did enjoy the chapter a bit more than I originally expected I would. While Kubo mightn't be the best writer his battle scenes are always a treat. Like I said before even after all that Yama has gone through I still don't think he's dead, Aizen seemed to believe he'd have to kill him with his own sword, and seeing as that didn't happen I'm betting the old man is just pretty badly hurt. Ichigo does indeed come off better, Aizen is definitely injured after taking that kidou dead-on and while I don't expect this to be the final blow I think he could certainly do damage.

Hmm, I have to admit the chapter reads much better than the spoilers alone or perhaps Binktopia's translation is just better. The "I'll die with you" line was taken out of context and does seem more appropriate when taken in context of how it was intended, although Naruto's unilateral loyalty to Sasuke and the inherent speeches are always a bit tiresome. I did find Madara's comment about the Rinnegan interesting, evidentlty he saw it as as much if not more of threat to him as it was useful. Zetsu's cloning ability was rather interesting as well.
