1. No mention of...of...damn it what was my character's name again ? *Snaps fingers* Dawlish that's it! :animeswea All joking aside I'm still interested in taking part in Almagest, and we're finally moving to the stage where...Dawlish... isn't just a figure in the background with the "Just as planned" smile.
 2.
I. HAVE. SNOW. YYYEEESSS... About a half-inch an hour, actually...:animesmil
Lucky you chibi, I really wouldn't mind some snow right now, anything but rain actually.
 3.

Got to admit, that was the best Candy ever.
 4.
... for some reason, the words snigger and titter amuse me greatly.
Heh heh titter...
 5. I'm glad I'm still immature enough to snigger at a name like Wonder Balls. Life would be so dull if I took it seriously after all.
 6.
Ex. On the bus last year, there were some 8 year olds or something. One(most, actually) of their conversations consisted of: "OMFG My mom so stupid she don't respect me like she should that *****!" "OMG inorite?! Like, this weekend, like, my parents wouldn't buy me the new iPhone even though I'm like 7 and totally old enough to take care of one!" "That's like so stupid you should just be all, '***** I want my phone now!' And they would like totally give you your mad props and *****!" That was word-for-word, by the way.
That is by far the funniest thing I've read in the last week. I would actually pay to have been there to hear it live chibi. As for the whole degeneration of society one generation at a time I take it with a pinch of salt, sure some children today are nothing short of parasites that need to be exterminated for our collective good but there are still plenty who grow up normal. If there's a problem then it's down to discipline and the way in which the children are raised, and thus ultimately down to their parents and society as a whole. Children don't possess genetic memory, if a child swears and acts that way he/she's picked it up from somewhere it's that simple.
 7. /casts Phoenix Down Taken from Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu Episode 7. Sousuke's expression really is priceless in conjunction with the line.
 8.
I survived my first experience of working retail on Black Friday...can I have a real job now?
No, you get to work the entire week leading up to Christmas on late shifts, especially on the 22nd and 23rd when you get the ******** who decided it was fine to do their shopping then a day or two beforehand and then get pissed off at you that your store might've served a considerable quantity of customers before them and thus lack certain items they desire. Penny Arcade's last two strips are rather apt in this regard.
 9.
Now that we know more about it, I'm in agreement with Alla and Gavin...spare the rod, spoil the child, I suppose? I kinda feel bad for the kid now...
Well funnily enough I'm actually a big opponent of the "spare the rod" mentality of discipline. I believe that parents can indeed raise fine future members of society without resorting to spanking or other forms of physical discipline. In this case however it's clear that the girl's attitude required a more forceful approach, and I'm still of the opinion being tased is far less painful than being beaten.
 10. An oldie but a goodie.
 11. Have to admit Lucky Star is a good anime to brighten your mood, watched the entire series after a bad break-up a couple of weeks back and it really helped to make me laugh. Of course if you want boundless courage, hot-bloodedness and kicking reason to the curb in the name of going beyond the impossible then you can't go wrong with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Rule of Cool, Crowning Music of Awesome, multiple Crowning Moments of Awesome, quite frankly it's the best damn anime series I've ever seen.
 12.
A parent who tells their kid "If you don't stop I'll call the police on you," probably didn't bother instilling a whole lot of good sense into their kid in the first place, and by now has almost no control over them.
Agreed. I suppose now the threat of "I'm going to call the police" is going to have a hell of a lot more impact on one little girl from now on.
 13. I have to agree actually, all the Leaf's internal fighting and indecision really reflects poorly on them in comparison to other Hidden Villages. Suna was in a far worse position just after their alliance with Orochimaru (especially as it was a set-up) and they pulled together to get back into fighting form. Really the problem lies with Konoha's elders more than anything, kill Danzou and the two others and you effectively eliminate a gigantic cancer within the village not only geared towards militarisation but also operating against the legacy of the last five Hokage. Why Konoha's Jounin don't actually take this step, as it's very much in the interest of Konoha itself is completely beyond me. Of course I'm also of the opinion Itachi himself was the clear bridging point between the ideology of the Senju and the Uchiha (an Uchiha with the Will of Fire who loved peace) and the natural successor to the Yondaime (perhaps after Kakashi pre-nerf). It also makes me wonder if he wasn't chosen to eliminate the Uchiha specifically because it destroyed that particular stumbling block to Danzou's (and the other Elders) power grab. Either way, Tsunade is going to be pissed as hell when/if she wakes up.
 14. Well I've started a couple of days early but I'm already 20 chapters into One Piece and enjoying it quite a lot so far. Typical shounen fare, I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing more of Shanks, dude is rather awesome, although between the three Straw Hats so far there's a good deal of coolness. Am I the only one who hears the spring sound from Sonic when Luffy stretches his limbs as an attack or to move ?
 15.
He's a Sith Lord. I'm pretty much contractually obligated to attempt to betray him at some point.
I am many things, a Sith Lord being but one of them. On the day you choose to enact that contractual obligation rest assured I shall make your ignominious end quick and clean, after all I don't want to have to replace carpets you've thoughtlessly bled all over. Also chibi if you choose to seek "advancement" within the organisation by murdering Ace in his sleep I will consider in keep with company policy.
 16. I fully support the tas(er)ing of anyone who strikes a man in the groin, ten years old or not, if you do that the kid-gloves come off. There's also the avoidance of a fully grown man potentially having to physically restrain a ten year old girl which could've lead to far worse injuries than a half second jolt of electricity. Seems the lesser of two evils in my opinion.
 17.
You're one of his slaves. You get no say in whether or not he continues being evil. =P
Indeed.
 18. Hmm, personally I had Gin pegged for revealing he's a Vizard first but Tousen is acceptable I suppose given his hand in the creation of the original Vizards. I've never much cared for the idea of Aizen and co. becoming Vizards, sure it's been highlighted as a plot point for ages but it seems to be just another way of creating a reason for Ichigo to have his power boosted to even more ridiculous levels and drag the story on another six months. Relatively speaking that's all the Arrancar were, and that's all Vizard Bad-Guys are going to be. Edit: So more spoilers are out, Aizen and Shinji have a bit of a chat about Aizen's "follow me but don't trust me" ideology and Yammy is a blatant Hulk rip-off but is still going to die in the new few chapters more than likely. Turning to the anime I'm convinced Yamamoto is the greatest f-ing moron in the entire series. Apparently not only did he know exactly who and what Muramasa was, and what he was capable of doing, but he sealed himself away without telling any of his subordinates any of the above information (including that he was going to seal himself) thereby playing right into Muramasa's hands by allowing him to fool the Shinigami into thinking he had been the one to seal Yamamoto away. I mean seriously, what kind of half-brained, senile, fool does that ? Oh and apparently Muramasa can tank Ichigo's Vizard Getsuga Tenshou without a problem, and now he can control Ryuujin Jakka, h4x is all I have to say about that.
 19. Yup, the cloak rule remains firmly in effect. I was always sort of ambivalent about Kisame as a character, sometimes liking him, sometimes not. Him being killed by a Killer-Bee/Raikage combo-attack is probably the best ending he would get.
 20.
Can't believe I missed this post since I consider GitS:SAC to be the best anime. While I've never seen the sub I do believe it is one of the best dubs out there.
Agreed. It's really quite annoying to watch series like GitS where there's still a heavy Japanese influence in the script come off so well in dubbing (by which it sounds naturally spoken rather than acted) compared to a lot of truly terrible dubs out there today.
 21. About half way through Full Metal Panic! and enjoying it immensely. Mechas, fan-service and plenty of comedy, I think it's on fast track to potentially enter my Top 10. Is it just my imagination or is some of the music based on the A-team ?
 22. I think xkcd just convinced me to become an organ donor.
 23.
I've been rereading some earlier chapters (for some oddball of a reason) and I'm still wondering how did Deidara and now the Raikage know about Kakashi using the Chidori.. In a sense I can understand the Raikage knowing seeing that it is possible that Kakashi fought with a lot of someones in their village, but Deidara....?
[strike]Ninja info cards[/strike] Bingo books. Kakashi for all the Worf Effect he's been put through since the timeskip is still regarded as one of Konoha's deadliest ninja so it would only make sense other villages would have info about the techniques he uses. Also remember he's used the Chidori since he was a kid, so it's not unreasonable it's been known about for well over a decade at this point. I imagine his Mangekyou Sharingan is probably still a secret though.
 24.
AGH OVERUSED MEME IS OVERUSED DFHJSADFKJGHDKJJDASDIFUAHKJDFC ...like I'm one to talk, but eh >>
Heh, well seeing as it was the first direct reference to his gargantuan post count it was somewhat obligatory. It will also be the only time I ever use that meme, I promise.
