1.
I don't see how having an Arnold look alike is a good move for the series. The whole time the viewer will just be comparing his traits to Schwarzenegger's. It would have been smarter to just go with a completely different look entirely.
Completely agreed, it makes no sense at all to attempt to cast a lookalike for a model which could be created by the hundreds in a factory. Perhaps it's attempting to tie into the fact John will be killed by one of those models (as stated in T3) but it reeks of poor planning to me. Better to have Arnie may a guest appearance at the end and air-brush him to look the part than digitally impose his face.

 6. One thing I'd like to expand upon Josh from the Chronicles is the idea that Icarus is equally connected with Czenovia as it is with Anova, and many other nations as well based on it's multinational structure. While it may not be well regarded in Czenovia for effectively reducing the effective power the nation holds over it's rivals it still holds very considerable public and private contracts, though due to the existence of MinkWorks would not hold a monopoly as it does in other nations.
 7. I remember talk about this coming months ago so really it's no shock to anyone in Europe that Russia is in bully-boy mode again towards other former soviet states and the rest of us west by proxy. Unfortunately as the major supplier of natural gas Russia is in a position to do this as it pleases and it's government is entirely indifferent apparently to the dire suffering that people will go through so long as their nation is brought to heel, but such has been the nature of the beast for so long. It's only a shame the EU can't do more than bark at Russia for this.
 8. Heh gave a chuckle so thanks for that Rach. Really turnabout is fair play as the saying goes, and anyone who advertises something along the lines of "unless you believe in God you're going to burn in Hell" has earned this little piece of retribution from the other side. Hopefully it won't be taken too seriously as it's obvious it's pretty tongue-in-cheek.
 9. I'm going to have to throw two recent purchases of mine in here, Star Wars: The Force Unleashedand Bethesda's Fallout 3 which has already been mentioned. With the latter as I said in another thread while there's nothing very wrong with Force Unleashed there's nothing particularly right about it either. The camera angle is absolutely dire until you get used to it (and have Action Cam on all the time) and even then it's never going to be your friend. Targeting is equally woeful never assessing enemies by distance from you but some of system which makes Force tossing them a pain in the ***. Scaled enemies means that the troopers you fight at the end of the game are more difficult to defeat than the Force users at the beginning, which makes no sense at all. On the plus side the story is pretty good, the characters all have decent enough dialogue and voice-actors and the graphics are quite pretty and well done. Customisation is a nice touch allowing you to have Starkiller look as you'd like him to some degree as you play through the game. I suppose what disappointed me most about this game was the hype that had been built up around it turned out to mask a thoroughly average LucasArts game (and really I shouldn't have been surprised.) Dealing with Fallout 3, my biggest beef with this game is I consider it to be Oblivion-Lite with a post-apocalyptic setting. A lot of what made Oblivion such a great game, the faction quests and different playing styles was cut to give you a pretty straight forward gunishment dealing RPG with the PipBoy making me want to kill the engineer who gives it to you. Again the story is solid and engaging and the visuals are lovely and unlike in Oblivion Bethesda has learned to hire more than 5 voice actors for the entire game. Disappointment really game because Fallout feels like it was produced before Oblivion rather than after and has very little replayability in a game of it's hype and pedigree.
 10.
I think Dawlish, should he decide to become an arms dealer, will find no shortage of customers around the world. The Almagest's Magitech company has been scaling back the manufacturing of weapons since the revolution, leaving a huge gap for rival businesses to try and establish themselves. More to the point, I imagine many of the alchemist scientists working for Magitech would be all too willing to find other employment if the price were right.
While I don't think "arms dealer" would be the best (or most flattering) way to describe Dawlish's operations this is certainly a valid point. Any entity which can provide Dawlish with sufficient payment for his services will have access to the world's finest magitechnology regardless of their political standing with Czenovia, and I'm sure Anova having been playing second-fiddle to the former kingdom will be one of his premier customers in attempting to bridge the technological gap between the two nations even in peaceful times. One of the big things I think about Dawlish's company is that while people might be outwardly hostile to the company and view them in a negative light, they are regarded as the most advanced weapons manufacturer out there which forces government hands into partnership with him out of fear a rival might gain some kind of military advantage. Also in addition to taking the weaponsmiths from Magitech after it closed that segment of the company, Dawlish is known to recruit employees based on their talent rather than their ethical standard leading to rumours of human testing and other morally ambiguous actions on his company's behalf. So yeah Dawlish's company doesn't have the same family friendly exterior that Magitech had but there's no question of his large market share and the extreme sophistication of his weapons systems. Hopefully the industrial espionage will make a good sub-plot.
 11. I think the "it's just a rip-off of Bleach" comments come from the people who've never actually sat down and watched enough of the show to get an idea of the plot, because that statement is very far from the truth. Sure it shares some elements of Bleach but they're pretty general to the point where Kubo couldn't claim he came up with them by himself. I started watching this show a few weeks back out of curiousity and while I wouldn't call myself a huge fan, I do enjoy it and it's a nice mid-point between Gundam 00 on Sunday and Bleach on Tuesday. One of the things that I like most about Soul Eater is it's laid back nature, it's a comedy with serious elements but the former is always a major element to the show, Shinigami-sama being a prime example of this point. As for the character's being flat to quote NinjaGirlSango I would have to agree to an extent that they do need more development, or rather some do to force them out of a stereotype role but that said I don't dislike any character so far and some of them really make me laugh, again Shinigami-sama being my example here.
 12. Something I see they do on NarutoFan James that might work well over here is to do a sort of "flavour of the month" system in regard to anime forums so they're able to maximize discussion without wasting space on unnecessary forums. Perhaps if we take a vote at the start of every month on what people are watching and then create/maintain forums for the top three then that would be the best way to decide ?
 13. Heh well Naruto is the most unpredictable ninja in all of Konoha so improvisation is definitely one of his stronger points. That said I get the feeling his toad training has wisened him up quite a bit and maybe made him a bit more tactically minded as well so hopefully he won't come off as a complete idiot in this fight. Thankfully he's certainly more serious looking than usual, even without the shite colour-scheme of his attire. One question that is still bugging me beyond "who's getting Kakashi's eye ?" is where the hell Yamato is during all this. Konoha's only wood-user would seem to have taken a siesta when he's needed the most, of course the same goes for Gai, Neji and Lee...oh and that other girl.
 14.
Kakuzu don't count as an S-Rank? :) Honestly, and this is looking at the fight with Killerbee. I was not impressed with Sasuke's fighting abilities during that fight. If it wasn't for the bail out (Not once, but twice) he would've definately died. And all Sasuke seemed to have going for him was Amaterasu. If that idiot has any type of common sense what-so-ever, and actually use what he learned against the Itachi impersonator, he should know how to deal with Sharingan without the use of the Kyuubi. (Keyword being "IF") Perhaps I'm giving Naruto too much credit with this sage mode. I do see Sasuke getting another form of a power up though. Or unlocking some ability with his sharingan that
forces the opponent to kill themselves.... Which would be stealing from Basilisk. Since that ability itself puts Tsukuyomi to shame.

Kakuzu is S-Rank yes but Naruto didn't defeat him by himself so that victory doesn't qualify in my books. As for Sasuke's poor performance against Killerbee I suppose if one were to be very merciful the excuse that his whole fighting style has had to change due to losing his cursed seal and getting the mangekyou and he obviously didn't have enough time to master it resulting in a major ***-whuppin'. Of course I wanted Sasuke to die like everyone else so that point may be irrelevent. Naruto's advantage over fighting Sasuke really only comes if he can improve the durability of the kage bunshin to the point where it mimics and actual body in the same way Pein's copy jutsu does. If he's alone then tactics dictate he runs, but this is the same man who can become an army at will so perhaps that point is invalid as well. Maybe though Naruto will be the one to get Kakashi's eye and we might see a sharingan-off again, very unlikely but not impossible. It would actually really suck if Sasuke got Gennosuke's ability because he's definitely not cool enough to deserve it. Itachi yes, Sasuke no.
 15.
Really? I wouldn't say Naruto needs to win this fight to prove he has a chance to beat Sasuke. Even Sasuke don't stand a chance against Pein. And now that Sasuke don't have that curse anymore the tide had already shifted in Naruto's favor. (Ugh.)
Perhaps that should have been closer to "if Naruto beats Pein he'll mop the floor with Sasuke" but I still feel Naruto needs to be one S-Rank enemy by himself to prove he can handle a one-on-one fight with an extremely skilled/haxed enemy. Additionally I'm taking Sasuke's new sharingan as being a possible equaliser in the fight against Naruto's raw power which comes from the Kyuubi who is known to be weak to that doujutsu's influence. There's also the likelihood that Sasuke will be haxed again before the fight with some new or improved jutsus if the past is any indicator.
 16.
Is anyone else slightly nauseated at the thought of this?:animedepr After all, the fight may very well consist of one kick-a** jutsu after the other, all of which would PWN a Pein-clone-ish-thingy in one third of a second. IT JUST SHOULDN'T BE THAT EASY!!!
I think it'll be revealed next week that Naruto was only able to one-hit-kill Robo-Pein because Pein was not expecting the attack and had been severely underestimating Naruto's level of attack power anyway. Methinks that the subsequent combat after this will likely be much more one-sided on Pein's behalf although I am still expecting some new toad-derived jutsu from Naruto to help even the score given he is supposed to have surpassed both Kakashi and Jiraiya at this point. Whether or not Naruto has allies in the upcoming fight is pretty irrelevant given Pein has been set-up in such a way as it's evident nobody in Konoha below the S-Rank has a chance of beating one of his bodies, so if the other members of Konoha's 11 do decide to turn up they'd better be prepared to leave in body-bags. Besides Naruto needs to win this fight by himself to prove he has a chance of beating Sasuke during their inevitable showdown.
 17. I suppose I should point out that normally I'd be utterly against the death penalty in most circumstances viewing it as something which very rarely gives justice for as crime as opposed to revenge for the victim. In this case however what this man has done falls so far below what I consider to be the "floor" of human morality in murdering a child, his own child, for such selfish reasons that his extermination is not only warranted, but necessary to show others like him or of his mentality what will occur if they act similarly. Honestly I would describe the death penalty as an inhuman method of justice, but equally I cannot find it accurate to describe this murderer as human after what he has done therefore he should not be subject to the same rights and protections as others.
 18. That is all.
 19. This is certainly a very disheartening thing to hear about in a time when people should be celebrating. Obviously one would hope that this was not something the man rationally intended to do and can be explained by some kind of extreme depression over his divorce from his wife or a mental disorder of some variety. For the loved ones of the victims involved and those who survived themselves I hope they can one day put this horrible tragedy behind them and move on with their lives, especially the children who will have been so badly affected.
 20.
I have to agree though; considering the strength of the Itatchi and Kisame clones earlier in the series, durability and widening the jutsu he uses when controlling Kage Bunshin would be cool to see.
Indeed, the only problem that could arise out of it would be it leading to a whole new version of "it was all just a genjutsu" that plagued Sasuke's fight with his big brother. I get the feeling though we're going to see a few new technique for Naruto displayed over the coming weeks with this fight.
 21. The bankai training is definitely a fair point as well Raiyuu in fact it kinda sucks we never got to see him achieve it for the first time, but then such was the case with Renji as well despite the two of them training in the same area for bankai. The idea that he may be "humouring" his inner-hollow is an interesting take on his ability to access his hollow powers for longer now without any visible training but does run into the wall of him beating his hollow and apparently suppressing him for good during his Vizard training. Of course the fact that his inner-hollow and zanpakutou are really just extended parts of himself could mean that in being truer to his own motivations for fighting yields this power more easily. After all it's pretty clear his fights against Grimmjow and Ulquiorra are much more personal than against run of the mill hollow in Hueco Mundo.
 22. Actually given his natural affinity towards the technique I've always been a little curious as to why Naruto has never tried to improve the Kage Bunshin jutsu with a personal variation. Naruto doesn't seem to be affected by the chakra requirements of the technique at all even with phenominal numbers of clones and given none of the doujutsu introduced in the series can penetrate them it seems only natural he take advantage of it. Obviously the only real improvement he could make would be the durability of the clones themselves, but if he managed to do it, it could certainly be counted as another step towards succeeded his teachers. He'd hardly have any need to try to learn his father's jutsu of appearing to be everywhere at once when he could literally be everywhere at once on a battlefield.
 23.
Well, to be fair, it would've probably looked pretty awesome without that colorspread on the front page. Our boy Naruto needs to ditch that stupid jumpsuit. It tends to clash with just about everything. This has been Metrosexual Corner. Join us tomorrow, when we discuss the strange obsession the Akatsuki have with fingernail polish, despite only one of them being female.
Point about the jumpsuit is agreed, but the cloak's own colours are pretty crap as well, seriously Kishi must be a bit colour-blind after working with black and white for so long. As for Akatsuki's fetish for nail-polish who knows, there's probably some kind of logical explanation involving yet another of Madara's identities.
 24.
So does every other Shounen fighting manga based in existence.
A fair point I suppose, it's just generally when Ichigo's abilities seem to make their next leap it's preceeded by some form of intense training to justify it.
