2. Like Ace, after seeing Sasuke being turned into a human pin-cushion by the Eight-tails I'm trying not to get my hopes up that we may actually see Sasuke lose a fight. That said, he's not brought out that Hax-Mangekyou of his yet so I wouldn't rule out a victory yet, but then the Hachibi hasn't used his Jinchuuriki powers either. As for the chapter itself, overall it wasn't bad, though the rap aspect is being pushed a little perhaps. Anyway I think I'll just leave the summarising to Ace, his are much funnier anyway and cover everything I was going to say.
  3. You know, I actually rather enjoyed this chapter. The few lines from Gin about Kira at the start were nice, the way Kubo is developing him as a character, I have to wonder exactly what Aizen holds over Gin to keep him loyal. As for the cat fight, sure, it was somewhat repetitive, but I was still laughing my *** off at them most of the time. I imagine the fight will be wrapped up next week, given they have a few more to through.
Poor Hisagi. Possibly a great character out shined by the likes of bad characters (IMO) like Ganju, Hanatarou (can't stand him), Momo, [strike]Rukia[/strike] and even Keigo. We practically know nothing about Hisagi, outside of him being from the 69th district, and is the vice captain of the 9th division. Hopefully he gets more panel time, and we get to see what this guy is made of.
Admittedly I've never had much interest in Hisagi as a character, he's always just been there in the background like any other regular Shinigami. Relating to development for him though, I assumed that was going to come when Kensei and the other Vizards show up, you know seeing as Kensei was probably Hisagi's inspiration for joining the Gotei 13.
  4. I genuinely feel sorry for the child in this case, not because of what the mother/father/parent did in deciding to have a child part way through a sex-change, but because this poor girl is most certainly going to have identity issues. I mean we've already had one person refer to the child as "an abomination", and that's pretty much as harsh as you can get with an insult as to someone's existence. Regardless of whether she's healthy, and her parents love her, which I don't doubt, or at least I would certainly hope not in this situation, she is going to have to deal with terrible levels of ignorance and prejudice growing up. I wouldn't even like to guess at how many times this girl is going to have to hear the words "freak" or whatever thrown in her face, it's certainly very sad, and it's certainly going to happen. As for the whole "male pregnancy", genuinely I'm on the fence about it. I wouldn't call it wrong, so much as strange and I'm still have trouble processing the whole idea, the movie "Junior" keeps coming to mind. I would chide the parent slightly on the choice of timing of the pregnancy to be honest. It would have been a better idea altogether to have the child either when he was still a woman, or to have his partner have the child after the surgery was completed. Or at least, that's just my view on it.

  6. I really liked both Treble's and Endrance's images, the former because as Sabrina pointed out it's very retro and bright but not over-powering to the eyes. In the case of Endrance's I really like the colours chosen as well as the style and shape of the image, it's just very well put together as a complete package. Unfortunately as much as I like both, Engel is the one to get my vote for having a Warhammer 40K character signature (Black Templar if I'm not mistaken), because I'm a huge Space Marine geek from Dawn of War. As an image as well, it's suitably dark and shows the Space Marine as it's imposing centre.
  7. Generally the only time I eat bacon is in a sandwich like a club sandwich or a BLT. Like SaiyanPrincessX, I prefer sausage, bacon is just a tad too salty for my tastes to be a favourite foodstuff.
  8.
Umm...Naruto came after Hitler's time, right? And I will not stop! It would be against the SasuNaru codes to let a chance like this slip! And if not Fanfiction.net, then DeviantArt!!! Maybe I'll draw Naruto in a frog suit and Sasuke in a princess' frilly pink dress...*evil smirk*
You see Ace, with the garden-variety rabid yaoi fangirl, you have to shoot without warning and without hesitation. They may look human, sound human, hell, even bleed like a human, but don't be fooled, they're not, and you're doing the world a great favour with every one of them you kill. If you don't, stuff like this happens. On that note. *Vapourises Chibi with Amaterasu*
  9.
Now as far as this chapter goes, Yumichika and Cool something were the highlights of the chapter, but then again, Kubo throws comedy into the wrong situations, yet his timing with this stuff is really good and can catch you off guard. (Too bad it don't have that same effect in the anime.)
Admittedly yes, the cat-fight between these two, because it probably can't be called anything else will immensely entertaining hopefully. Of course, it'll be even funnier because these two drama queens will be dead serious about it. Poor Yumi, it's as if Aizen created Cool just to show you a Hollow mirror-version of yourself.
  10.
Since when was Yumichika considered an elite?
Since he beat Hisagi with his released zanpakutou in one move. Plus you know, all those guys in the 11th are monsters when it comes to fighting, Madarame is probably low-Captain-level, so I would imagine Yumichika is a Lieutenant class Shinigami even if he's ranked as 5th. Honestly did think much of this chapter, a little too much "I will fight you, so let's get the introductions out of the way first", that really only worked in the Madarame/Edorad fight. Seems Kira might have an interesting battle though.
  11.
Naruto does his typical "you can't deter me because I'm a moron!" speech and the training begins.
Probably the funniest and yet most apt statement ever made about Naruto training. Anyway Ace pretty much summed up a lot of my thoughts on the chapter a lot more entertainingly than I could have. Asking Naruto to stand still and control his chakra for five seconds might as well be asking Sasuke to give up his quest for revenge against, well whoever he's avenging at that moment. Seriously, chakra control from the kid with a demon sealed inside him, who's chakra leaks out and mixes with Naruto's own ? As for the Toad to Prince yaoi, for the love of God Ace, don't give the fangirls ideas. Moving on to Hawkastuki, seeing Suigestu get his sword stopped bare-handed again before getting owned was definitely nice. As for Juugo, well apparently he's important enough as a character to get two frames showing his surprise at being owned. God knows how Sasuke is going to avoid looking like a haxxor when he beats him in two moves.
  12. Heh, somehow I knew it would end up with a complete slaughter with no survivors. I was slightly amused/afraid of a butcher knife weilding Aaryanna, with that harmless, amiable personality, you'd be lulled into a sense of security before being gutted like a fish.
  13. While looking at the background of the Saint who's name you're considering might help you choose, you could also look at the names of people around you that you look up to, or people who you were close to who aren't around any more for inspiration. I found that looking at it from that perspective made the decision easier, as you identify more with living people than saints you've only read about.

I suppose though I should've added a smiley after it to show I was joking. [Edit] Friend of mine showed me this earlier, the stop-motion work in it is definitely first rate, and any Transformers fan should get a kick out of it too. Not sure if everyone will get where the idea itself comes from, as in I'm not sure if the Citroen ad was shown outside Europe I'm posting it too for comparison. 20.
But I'd be contradicting myself if I started Font Wars and it actually worked :P
No, you'd simply be accepting that your original belief about the viability of the idea was wrong.
  21.
Yeah, that's fair enough. The problem with something like Naruto is that the plot is separated into rather isolated patches, with different lines moving at different paces the whole time. The only time in the entire series since Zabuza where everything's been focused on one thread alone was when Sasuke was being taken by Orochimaru's Sound Four, more or less. Now, with Naruto very much in a 'Oh bugger, I need to spend months training again' state and Sasuke in a 'OMGZ LOLOLO I GOTS MAGENKYO CAN I HAS KONOHA PLZ' state, it's definitely becoming unbalanced. I guess I want Naruto to hurry up and beat the crap out of Sasuke's arse. I'm glad to see he's actually being given the chance to improve again now.
Agreed, perhaps the problem is that the "Sasuke situation" has continued on too long at this point and it's really pushed aside any other plots that might have developed. I mean originally the plot seemed fairly grounded in reality, where yes, ninja were a lot more powerful than regular humans because they manipulated their chakra, but couldn't reached DBZ power-levels unless certain death came afterwards i.e. Gai and Lee's Eight Gates techniques, or Minato and Sarutobi's Demon Sealing Technique. Even the now God-like Sharingan wasn't complete hax when it was introduced, Zabuza proved that fairly conclusively, and Chiyo gave tips about fighting the regular Sharingan as well, proving it wasn't unbeatable if the opponent was skilled enough.
Kakashi being relegated to a secondary character isn't really fair either, considering how much he's done for the series with relatively little character development overall. I really want to see more of him.
I think the problem with Kakashi is simply level. When he was introduced, Kakashi, bluntly, was the ****, but he was the **** to his three green Genin students who to be honest looked like they'd have trouble tying their hitae to their head. Then we saw Orochimaru, who Kakashi knew he couldn't beat, then Jiraiya, same again. Then we saw Sarutobi, the Hokage fight against Orochimaru and his two predecessors and still only lose because of his age, suddenly Kakashi wasn't looking so cool. Repeat with Tsunade and Akatsuki as desired. Kakashi is probably the only realistic ninja left in the series, he has Mangekyou, but is left bed-ridden for a few days after using it. He knows over a thousand techniques, but his relatively limited chakra supply prevents him from blitzing opponents left and right. He created the Raikiri/Chidori, but didn't transform it into a Kaiten rip-off or electro-sword of Kusanagi as his student did. All that said, I'd definitely like to see some more character development for him, not necessarily training, as then we'd move further into DBZ territory, but some more page-time of his thoughts would be nice.
I'm disappointed they showed comparatively little of Naruto's anguish over Jiraiya, too.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that. The same could be said, perhaps even more so for Tsunade who shows minimal grief now over Jiraiya's death.
  22. And yet he still served a cat at one point, and continues to refer to that cat as his best friend.
  23. Definitely agree with everyone about Font Wars, you really have to try that Solo, even if it does fail, it would still be a wickedly fun failure.
  24. Hope you don't mind my inviting your character to a meeting Omega, as I said, it's at your leisure. Also, seeing as I was browsing the Zelda art on DA, I found a really funny comic and thought I'd share. Comic.

    Zelda: The Lost War
He should not have been necessary. The thought continued to repeat in his head, and would continue to repeat, every time he had to do something like this. The Gerudo woman was strapped to a large, heavy chair, she, firmly secure to it, like it was to the floor. The lamp hanging just above her head would prevent her from being able to identify him or anyone else in the room physically. It did not however prevent him from seeing her, a wretched mess, sobbing, pleading. He sighed and cursed the goddesses. ?What are the Gerudo?s plans for the invasion of Hyrule ?? This was the only question he asked. No names, nothing about families or why they had come here. Such facts were irrelevant to him, and he did not deal in irrelevancies. She only cried harder in response, a handful of words made it through the gasps. ?P?Please? I?I do?don?t know anything ab?about the invasion?I?m?I?m just a seamstress? Please?don?t hurt me?I have?I have a family?? He closed his eyes in frustration, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and index finger. She probably wasn?t lying. This woman didn?t have the look of a spy, or one of the elite female soldiers the Gerudo were so proud of. He crossed off her name from the list in his head of those he had interviewed today, one more, and nothing. He hated interviewing women, even if they weren?t human, the bawled and begged?but most of all?they made him feel like a beast for doing it. Valen?s heart was not hard as stone or steel. It could be moved by pity, and was sometimes. He clicked his fingers, and the two guards standing facing him, a few feet behind the woman quickly moved to release her. Their face-covering helmets and silence would protect them, but she did not even try to look at them, her gaze merely lifted from the floor, wet with tears, to the area she assumed he remained in the darkness. The sobbing had stopped, thankfully, and as the last restraint came free she moved shakily to stand. He turned his back to her and moved towards the heavy wooden door leading out of the room, then paused, looked back and spoke quietly ?We will be watching you from now on. If you tell anyone about what occurred here today, we will return?and this time, we?ll take your children as well.? She didn?t say anything, a look of horror crossed her features but she still remained silent. Good. He didn?t like threatening children, but he had, if it meant a parent would break and give him what he wanted. The woman would be allowed return home, and would likely never speak about it to anyone. But they would watch her, just in case she did something foolish. Closing the door behind him, he heard as she broke into tears again and that thought, that loathsome thought wormed it?s way into his mind again. He should not have been necessary. He crushed it, he was necessary, regardless of whether he should have been or not. The world was not fair, and thus creatures and men who should not exist did, and he was simply one of them. ?We are what we are because someone must be.? It had become a mantra to him almost. He hated the goddesses, more than he hated the injustice and oppression that plagued his people, more than he hated having to threaten women with the death of their families he hated them. They, supposedly perfect beings had forged an imperfect world, with imperfect beings to inhabit it. And when these poor imperfect beings had killed their goddesses favoured creation, there was no mercy, no forgiveness. They raged, reshaped the world?and then left, and thus without guidance of their deities, they had created imperfect societies, governed by imperfect laws, imposed by imperfect men. Valen was imperfect, all were imperfect, and therefore all the terrible things they did could be laid at the feet of the goddesses. He hated them. It was blasphemy of course, and the Hylians would kill him if he ever spoke it aloud. They who supposedly possessed the ears best at hearing the words of the goddesses clung blindly to their faith. It was just one more aspect of them that disgusted him. And then their was their great saviour, the Hero of Time, another monumentous act of Hylian arrogance?and another monumentous failure. Quietly he redressed in his guard-captain armour, pausing as one of his guards entered the room unannounced, his reddened cheeks and heavy breathing indicating he had come in quite a rush. ?Yes guardsman ?? ?Your orders regarding the Faust-boy have been carried out. We?ve also delivered your request to meet with him at the barracks when he?s ready.? Valen smiled slightly. The boy hadn?t deserved to be imprisoned, but more than that, it he would be someone Valen could easily influence to join him. ?Thank you, you may go now.?
