1.
You're just heartless, admit it. :p
Am not. You spent so much time building up the episode that there was no way it could live up to my expectations, as I said, I was very moved by
Franz
death and
his sacrifice to save Albert from that duel
. Anyway, moving on, the most recent sad anime death for me would be that
Ahmey
in The Tower of Druaga, it just seemed to have come out of nowhere, although in the episode itself you could see it happening a few seconds before it actually occurred. Given that
Ahmey had had such a maturing effect on the group, it was sad to see her go.

 2.
In the most non-offensive way possible, I am very curious how many of you worship regularly at a religion and voted no for ghosts. If you'd tell me I'd be very appreciative.
Well this is the reason I can't outright say "no" to whether or not I believe in the paranormal, as yes it does sound somewhat like hypocrisy. I believe that the vast majority of what's publicised is probably false, or at least exaggerated to a large degree. I do believe that some people have had genuine experiences but that they are few in number. I think most "haunted" locations are the result of people buying into the belief and then seeing something because they want to see it, whether subconsciously or not. The brain is a powerful organ after all. However that said, I have heard of a particular case occurring with a member of my own family that I do believe was genuine simply because of the vividness of the experience itself. In short, do I believe in the paranormal ? Sort of. I believe in what's been established by Catholic dogma because I'm a Catholic, but I am rather sceptical about the supernatural in general. Meh, I know, I did a crap job of explaining myself.
 3. Most of the time I generally stick to a daily broadsheet like the Independent or the Times, or if I'm desperate I'll buy one of the more reputable tabloid papers like the Mail but even then the difference is almost disconcerting to my intelligence. I enjoy reading Time and National Geographic when I have a chance as well, although it's fairly rare, generally occurring in a waiting room unless someone in the family has taken out a subscription. I watch the news headlines most evenings on TV, but having read the paper prior to that it's only to see if anything happened that day since the paper was printed. Sky News is pretty good for that sort of thing, particularly since they added the Irish segment. As for reading news online, only unless someone sends me a hyperlink.
 4. I don't really do anything I would consider special or out of the ordinary. I head into the gym a few nights a week to work out when I have the time. Most of the time I stick to the treadmill, the rowing-machine, bike and climber, at about 15/20 minutes each. After that I'll spend some time working out with weights, nothing too heavy so I don't bulk up as opposed to define what's there. To relax I'll head down to the pool, do a few laps and then relax my muscles in the sauna for a while. And that's pretty much it. I used to do martial arts, both Judo and Karate but both clubs closed down and I'm as happy to stick with my gym routine now.
 5.
- Hm. I wonder who were the vaizards replacements after this incident? Perhaps this is where Isshin came in at? Aizen's a given. If I recall, Gin and Byakuya became captains around the same time, so I highly doubt that Gin was a replacement this early, but then again, Toushiro is a child prodigy, so it's possible that Gin became a captain before Byakuya...
Based on the fact that Ichimaru was still Aizen's lieutenant back when Hinamori, Kira and Renji were in the academy, it'll be a while before he becomes a captain. Actually, that also insinuates that Byakuya only became a captain in the last fifty years as well, because we know those two became captains at the same time. Ginrei must stick around as 6th Division's captain for quite a while then.
I can see Tousen being Kensei's replacement here, but if that was the case, he became a captain before Komamura (I don't doubt this at all.), but then other flashbacks don't match here. Unless Kubo does one of those huge time leaps, I need matches to other flashbacks.
I'm actually interested to see that myself, we haven't seen hide nor hair (no pun intended) of Komamura so far, despite the fact he's probably serving as a highly seated officer in one of the Divisions at this point. Wonder what funky armour the wolf-man is wearing at that point ?
 6. Yeah, yeah, I'm heartless for posting this I know, still I got a good laugh out of it at the same time.
 7.
Indi got me going on Gankutsuou - The Count of Monte Cristo and I have to say that the death of
Franz
was sad. You knew about halfway through the episode what was going to happen. However, I found part of myself wishing that they wouldn't die. It was a very powerful moment in the series.
It would have been even better if she hadn't completely over-hyped the episode. That said, I couldn't agree more about
Franz's
death, it was certainly one of, if not the most moving moment of the entire series.
 8. There's a great little Italian take-away about five minutes from my house, so whenever I'm in the mood for it I get stuff freshly made up there, compared to the frozen pizza I used to eat, well there's really no comparison. Sure it's more expensive, but it's definitely worth the extra few euro. Favourite toppings, cheese, pepperoni and pineapple. Yeah, basically a Hawaiian except with pepperoni instead of ham, I'm not a big fan of ham pizzas but I love the sweetness of the pineapple so it's a good combination for me. That and most people I know would even try it just because of the sound of it, which is great because I never have to share then. Heh heh.
 9. I can't believe nobody posted the video yet... Why do you think we have the Youtube tags people if not for these situations ? Being serious, I think Retri gave some good examples of what love means in most of our lives. For me, love is in normal situations putting another person ahead of yourself, and your own needs to ensure their happiness and contentment. In greater, more important situations, love is being able to do and say things you never thought possible because another person means so much to you. Maybe in the end the Matrix had the best explanation, love is just a word, what matters is the connection it implies.
 10. ...With each week the passes, Kishi's story-telling ability seems to get weaker and weaker. Honestly, I've read fanfiction plotlines that are better than this. This Week's "Gems" included: - Madara suffers from such a level of Keeping Up With The Senjus that he becomes Mizukage just because he can't become Hokage. - Additionally when he's recruiting members for his S-Class secret organisation he hires his most loyal Mizu-nin without bothering to revealing his true identity, despite how this would have made for a better working relationship... Suddenly my respect for Zabuza has gone up a couple of notches for having the cahones for trying to take on Madara. - Apparently Shodaime is a moron too, he has control over multiple bijuu and instead of finding some way to seal the monsters away, he decides that giving them away as part of peace deals is a better idea... I seriously hope Dubya doesn't read Naruto, otherwise he's going to start passing nukes out to the wrong people. - Tsunade chooses to have Naruto's entire team there when it's revealed his sensei has been killed, completely oblierating his chance for private grief expression, seems Senju stupidty is also genetic. - Sasuke and Hawk are off to play Pokémon with the Eight-Tails. Here's hoping most of them die.
 11. And environmentalists wonder why regular people think they're weirdos... Being a proud omnivore, I don't see myself trading in chicken and beef for crickets and roaches any time soon. I say we let to greenies try living on the diet for five to ten years as experimental data before they ask the rest of us to try it again. Seriously, bugs, that's the best they could come up with as an alternative ?
 12.

"Omg you guys, you guys, I have devised a perfect plan to avenge my brother. DESTROY KONOHA LOL WITH MY AWESOME ATOM EYES" Cue: yaoi/incest fangirls

Yep, until he hits Rock Lee with one of those radioactive eye-beams transforming him into the Incredible Hulk who proceeds to beat Sasuke to death with his overly large fists. [strike]All this will also occur while Pein is killed by the legion of pervert super-ninja, led by Kakashi for ending the Icha Icha series prematurely.[/strike] [Edit] The true end of Pein is brought about by:
 13. Don't know how I missed this one. Shy. Why ? Props to anyone who's actually still around long enough to get this. Josh originally started out under the username ShyGuy511 before dropping the 511 and then eventually the Guy part altogether to become plain Shy. The cowboy hat in the picture is reference to him, as I recall, telling me he owned one, plus it looks funner this way.
 14.
I just crammed the last 7 chapters in after a long time of not reading Naruto, and my reaction is... WHY DID I EVEN BOTHER.
Because you got to see Sasuke cry like the chicked-haired wuss that he is ?
 15. A bizarre if slightly intriguing thread Darren, I have to admit, I've never associated a particular monster/enemy of any videogame with a member of OB. However for the sake of actually adding something to the discussion I think I can come up with something. Dark Link AKA Desbreko Why ? Maths Formula time (I just finished my final maths paper, bear with me) Link = Hero. Des = Evil. Link + Evil = Dark Link. Des = Dark Link. Phantom Ganon and FFX's Penance were two others I considered for OB's evil overlord.
 16.
Nerd.
This coming from the man with Avatar quotes in his signature. *Lightsabers you through the chest* ^_~ All kidding aside, as I said to you already D, I quite liked it. I found the detail of the action scenes to be fluid and well written. If I had one complaint, it's that you didn't describe the characters physically well enough, but that's pretty minor and didn't really detract from the piece.
 17.
Having a record of how you acted when you were thirteen is pretty ******. Similar to 'breko I'm turning twenty this year so some things have changed.
Quoted for truth, it's definitely not that enjoyable to go back and peruse posts you made over six years ago. One of the things that definitely makes you realise how long you've been around too is when your early posts are part of threads with only four digits in the hyperlink. As for the development between now and then, suffice to say it left me rather startled. ^_^;
For instance, now I have a deep, sexy voice that was absent back in those days. :smooch:
You forgot the beards and long hair Ken.
 18.
And as I told you before, Gavin, you kinda had me worried, there; I wasn't sure how the votes would fall for that one. Well met, sir. :animesmil
Heh, no worries Al, it was fun to clash poetic lances with you in the opening round, even if I knew right then I wasn't going to advance any further. ^_^; Anyway congratulations on your win, you certain deserved it, and really, it simply cements your position here in the Anthology as it's almighty creative overlord. Heh.
 19. Hearts skipping. His lips met hers. - The end to a first date. Tires squeel. Scream. Thump. Too late. - A car accident.
"He passed away with his pride" - foolish hero stereotypes.
I quite like this one, reminds me of Derek Mahon's Antarctica, which similarly deals with the futility of heroism based on certain beliefs.
Hyphenated means one word.
Ah, thanks, wasn't sure if we were counting them as one or two.
 20. Afro Samurai [Afro Samurai] vs. Mace Windu [Star Wars] Just for the epic-ness that would be created from Samuel L. Jackson fighting himself, granted Mace has the Force to call on, but Afro did beat a robot cut from the same slightly clichéd cloth as General Grievous. Jin [Samurai Champloo] vs. Wolverine [X-Men] With Wolverine's samurai back-story, I'm sure there'd be some kick-*** dialogue before what could only be an awesome fight. Granted Jin's katana mightn't hold up against Wolverine's adamantium claws, so he'd probably need a new set of swords before the fight, and of course Wolverine has enhanced strength, senses and healing factor, but he'd probably do a Kenpachi and hold back some of his strength to make it a fair fight.
 21. Adding to what Phenom has said, because I agree with it. - Aizen needs to monologue less, true it's the sign of a true super-villain, but also usually the source of their downfall. Granted we know his downfall doesn't come yet, but still something he should keep in mind. - I'm now thoroughly confused about how Soul Society didn't know about Aizen being a traitor, unless he somehow wipes Tessai and Urahara's minds in the near future.
 22.
[pindent=2]although I am looking quite hard at Gavin[/pindent]
 He stared. She bled. Love died. We danced together quietly. Music unheeded. Rat-Boy's cat ironically went blind. ^_~ Life goes on. But eventually stops.
 23. Another flashback chapter that could have been summed up in about five pages, jeez, Kishi really needs to take a few tips of Tite on how to handle manga flashbacks. As for the actual content: - Naruto is still a naive idiot, the future fight between him and Sasuke will probably end in his death. - Itachi's donating power to Naruto seems pointless, he's not smart enough to use it, although I am curious as to what it might be. Another "that jutsu" no doubt. - Pointless flashbacks for one smile suck. - Sasuke is apparently a naive idiot too.
-
Out of curiousity. How is Sasuke suppose to revive his clan when he's not into women?

I nearly choked on my tea laughing when I read that. So true.
 24. I suppose these could be considered a duology. The Dark Side: We Have Cookies. The Light Side: Ours Are Better.
 25.
?You are a part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor!?
I am so glad I didn't choose to do law in the end, because after reading me saying it in this, I'd be so tempted to say it in a courtroom some day. :animesmil Great job so far Ace, wonder if this will be one of my chosen lost cases, or where Ace is just damn that good ?
