But what really confuses me is that the intro shows them as high school kids in the "real world" so to speak but in the show they never mention it at all like .hack, is it actually a video game or it is just a video game esque show?
I'm pretty curious about that myself. Des, any info there ?
Or it might have been because Sasuke's mom was actually a ninja and therefore a threat (the mothers of Konoha can be pretty badass when they want to; look at Kurenai).
I'd more say Kiba's mom, I sure as hell wouldn't want to meet her in a dark alley late at night.
...So we'll probably figure that out around 2014, if we're following the pattern. And knowing Kishi's style of drawing things out to death, Naruto will probably run that long. --;
*Sighs* Sad thing is, that's entirely possible.

Just got through the first episode of Druaga and it is some damn funny stuff, particularly
Neeba and the tentacle scene's "It's just getting good"
, I'd guessed what was going to happen, but I was still in torrents of laughter. The comedy/fantasy/videogame concept works really well, I hope the rest of the episodes are as funny as the first.

Well, if soft-drinks and teas don't count, then I'm definitely not classed as an energy drink drinker, however if they are, then I'd probably want to join my local addicts support-group. For my caffeine boosts, usually I'll have a mug or two of tea, or a bottle of coke, because I simply can't stand the taste of Red Bull, which is the most common energy drink over here. If I'm just thirsty, water or fruit-juices (particularly apple & blackcurrant or grape juice) suffice nicely.

Somehow I was expecting more from the title...
For people born on the 29th of February, I've heard that it is celebrated March 1 or Feb. 28 usually when there is not a Feb. 29 to rock out on.
Quoted for truth and laziness.

On a sidenote, Des get off your highly overworked behind and post a new story here. Seriously, six months without a Daily Otaku ?! It's just not on.
Plus, wouldn't the non threatening members of the clan want to wage war on the village? Even without the threatening members of the clan, they'd still be capable of going to another country that could have been an enemy of Konoha and give that country their clan secrets to use against Konoha?
Probably, but I imagine the fear that death incarnate A.K.A. Itachi might come for them if they decided to move from the not-a-threat to the potential-threat category might keep them in line. That and of course Danzou might just dispatch Root to deal with them. As for giving away Uchiha secrets to Konoha's enemies, I refer to the above point, if they became a threat to the peace of Konoha, then Itachi would likely kill them. As I said, it was just those Uchiha who seemed... well, nice who were killed that didn't fit. I just don't get why Itachi was spare his brother and yet kill his mother.
Actually later in the series it explains that itatchi
is hired by the hokage to get rid of the Uchiha clan and he is forced to choose his family of village, but he left sasuke alive because it says if you use the mangenkyou sharingan to much you become blind, and if you steal the eyes of another brother of family member they become blind and you have "eternal light" and live forever like, mandra. but mandra is involved because itatchi offers mandra, who was betrayed by the clan at the end of the first ninja war, to help get revenge on the clan and mandra accepts. then later itachi tells the hokage to not tell sasuke
im only like 95 % sure cause i read them like 2 weeks ago, so i might have missed a detail or two.
I think you misunderstood the question Haku, I'm aware of reasons behind the Uchiha massacre, as well as the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. What I was talking about was why Itachi killed clan members who weren't any threat to anyone, i.e. his mother (an assumption perhaps, she never seemed like a shinobi to me), nor his aunt or uncle (judged by the fact he didn't try to fight Itachi, and chose to shield his wife). It just doesn't seem in keeping with the behaviour of someone who abhorred war and bloodshed as Itachi supposedly did.
I think they should take a timeout to go back to Konoha. Pain's secret is the biggest thing on my mind at the moment.
Agreed, with the last page of last week's manga chapter, I imagine Kishi must be pretty close to wrapping up the Madara/Sasuke segment of the arc, which means we should be back to Konoha soon enough, that is of course unless he wastes more time going through the pointless Hebi/Kisame fight. On a side note, anyone else think what Itachi wanted to protect Sasuke from regarding Madara was the truth about the Uchiha clan ?
Plus, Gavin, you're a jerk for throwing the "lover v. lover" card. I mean, come on. Show some originality, man. And watch my previous conditions; by the time the Dark Jedi get there, I'm all that's left, so it'd be kinda hard for any one to kill the dead Jedi.
Fine, fine, pity though, those lover vs. lover fights in Star Wars tend to be good for the drama. Meh, either way, I'm just interested to see where D'Ann will go with this.

Random and amusing, although I am slightly worried about my future given I'm being dragged away by a vampiric Raiha, which means I'm either food or fun. Great story Laura, looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Even though they're just court recommendations, hopefully this will mark the end of a disgraceful career of an utter idiot, who's done more harm to his profession than his intended targets.

To answer Allamorph's question, because I'm probably the biggest remaining Star Wars geek on OB, there's a couple of different time-points that this could be set in.
Great Sith War Jedi Civil War New Sith Wars
I'd probably recommend the Jedi Civil War, simply because it covers the need to evacuate the planet as well as a Jedi/Fallen Jedi fight.
But that's not why I'm hear, at least not directly. No, I'm here to comment that this seems like a perfect job for Gavin... to be the dark Jedi who strikes you down. Everyone knows how evil he truly is, it's like this death has his name written all over it. I know he's the first person I thought of when I read your request. :D
*Sighs* Fine, I'll do it, but let Rach be one of the other Jedi there who gets killed by the Fallen Jedi SunfallE whom I lead.

Started into Nabari no Ou like Dagger by pure chance when I happened to come across it in the summary of the latest Bleach episode. I have to say, I like the majority of the characters with the exception of the the main one, something about his almost nihilistic personality and "cute" looks just don't sit with me. Thobari's (Irish ninja FTW !!) absolute fear of technology is hilarious, I'm actually waiting for him to say "I ain't gittin' on no plane!" and my I will probably choke on my own laughter. The plot's quite interesting and rather different to anything I've seen, and then of course there's the top-notch fighting scenes which make it worth a watch.
It would be really cool. It seems like Sarutobi was one of the most influential Hokages that Konoha has ever had: everything ties back to him in some way or another (usually for the positive). I think it would add another dimension to both his and Itachi's characters if that were it.
Indeed, it occurs to me that if the Uchiha had remained loyal to Konoha, Itachi probably would have been the one to replace Minato as Hokage when he chose to step down. Oh well, simply one more awesome hero who should have gotten/taken the job instead of Tsunade, the other being Jiraiya of course. That said, the one thing I'm still bothered about was Itachi's killing of individuals among the Uchiha who posed no threat to him, i.e. his mother, his aunt and uncle. Although perhaps it was Madara who killed them.
But, it seems that Sasuke is out on his own now (and bearing the clan symbol). Seems like we're finally going to get to see what he decides to do. But really, I'm starting to wonder what's happened to the rest of Team Hebi at this point, not to mention how the S.S.R.S. (Sasuke Search and Rescue Squad), as I have dubbed Naruto & Co. is doing. I suppose Kishi will tell us when we need to know.
Indeed, I'm rather interested to see where Sasuke will go with his life, now that he knows the whole truth about his brother, and his clan, that is assuming Madara has been telling him the whole truth. Given the second "humbling" he's taken in such a short space of time, the first being his defeat from Itachi in battle, and now having his illusions of reality stripped away from him, hopefully Kishi might actually make a likable character out of Sasuke, worthy of all the sacrifices everyone else have made for him. As for Hebi and SSRS, well I never much cared for Hebi, so Kisame can make fish food out of them if he likes, and as for Naruto and co, well Naruto clearly needs to get his backside back for more training, and using those kage bunshins in a more intelligent manner, and for God's sake, get a better outfit.
So what you guys are saying is that I could correct the price by banning Aberinkula?
Is that an offer, or are you just thinking out loud Des ? ^_~ Just kidding Aber, we'd probably miss you if you were actually banned.

Did anyone else find the chapter to drag on a little ? There seemed to be just fifteen pages of almost double-takes until we finally got a bit of story at the end, at least for me. Agree with Phenom too, this reeks of Aizen's handiwork, and doubtless it will be Tessai and Urahara who fix things.
Well, I was happy to see that I wasn't too far off the mark with my initial hypothesis in regards to what actually went down (though what I said in the edit was completely off, lol). I must say that I'm glad that the image that has been built up over the years of Itachi has been shattered somewhat. I mean, I liked him before as a villian, but he's always been the type that seems better as a hero sort. In a way, this new revelation makes him exactly that (though in a very beat-around-the-bush way). Though I'm sure there are a lot of fanpeople that have gone completely nuts over this in a negative way. In my view, it just adds that much more depth to his character. *shrug* Anyway, Sasuke has already shown the signs of complete mental collapse, so all we have to do now is wait and see how many more chapters he lasts. Though, like Gavin, I am interested in seeing what Madara's plans are for him.
Couldn't agree more, Itachi was the one villain who I always thought would have made an awesome good guy, and I'm really pleased that he has turned out to be one. Perhaps the one thing about Naruto as a series that maybe I didn't like was it's overly clear-cut good/bad divide among the characters, with Itachi, thankfully that's been scraped. Anyone else think that Itachi's jounin instructor may have been Sandaime ? Seeing as Minato was Yondaime at that stage, and Itachi had apparently inherited the same love for the village that Sarutobi expressed. Probably unlikely, but it would be cool.

It is kind of hard to believe it's all actually over, at least for now. Seriously though, if this RPG does not get a Nifty Award next year, well, it'll be a shame, because I can't think of any RPG in the last few years that has been this epic, and really, so good for RPing on the boards. *Takes Josh's champagne, shakes it, and sprays him with it* Until the sequel.
I'd be careful there... one of those nobility, Catherine to be exact. Would actually support a motion to do away with such a law. She might have stood by while it happened, but in the same way she seized the opportunity to create a job for Dame Anna. She'd seize the opportunity to help do away with a custom that she sees as being barbaric. ;)
After what happened at the funeral, I think Dwalish would probably be one of Catherine's biggest supporters on that front.
So... in less than eight months, Harrison lost everyone in his immediate family other than Dwalish... Thanks a lot Gavin!
I'd just like to point out Sandy actually killed Helen, not me... Can't really dodge responsibility on the others though, heh, at least he still has family though. And just remember, Harry was going to end up with Macey and Gustave and someone objected to that. ^_~

Obligatory Trailer. Despite the fact I'll definitely see this on it's opening weekend, the idea of reviving a series this old isn't something I'm convinced totally by, hopefully it'll be better than Stallone's latest revivals anyway.
If they're not accurate on the apparent worth of a website, what makes you think they are somehow accurate for what the supposed "United States Top Searches" is?
