Well I can speak from experience and what I did. Background to the story is... I went to my home town a thousand miles away. "She" went to the same home town which was 2,000 miles away for her. It was 2 years after the best relationship of my life. We were seperated due to problems no one can control. (she went to school in colorado and I moved with my family to louisiana) In the home town now... We both spent some time together when I got to "the burg" (home town) and had a great time together. I was in town for 1 week. We spent that 1 day together and then a few hours that next day. (new years eve) We both agreed to see each other before I left. Then on the last 2 days I tried to get in touch with her, she ignored me. I tried again before I left, and again I was ignored. I tried to contact her after I had left just to find out what was up. She ignored me again. I got home and wrote her and email telling her my feelings and IM'd her to tell her to try to check her mail. I havent heard from her since new years eve. I dont know why she just stopped talking to me, but eventually I got it. I dont know why she did it, but I decided that I would let it go. Its time for me to do what I assume she did... move on. I suggest that if she is giving you the cold shoulder, dont let it bother you. If a girl wants to talk to you, she will find a way. However, if she doesnt want to talk with you, bothering her woulnt make her like you anymore. I also suggest you do what was suggested above... take it as it comes and start as friends. Although, I must admit that being labeled a friend is the first step to not getting intimate. ( being a friend or a nice guy is not what girls ask for when they wanna jump your bones)

I did notice that mustache. I thought it made him look like he was latin or something. I still think that most of the charactors in the game were portrayed almost perfectly. I gotta mention though, since I am posting here again, this game is way too short. Its just a shame that the game would have this draw back because otherwise it would be the perfect hack and slash game. Its almost too dissapointing to think about for me. I just loved the game way too much to have that kind of let down. For the reason of its length alone, this game will not be in my personal stach for a long time.

I watched this show after it started airing. I caught it last night. It seemed cool, and didnt have anything bad going on. But damn, could they have drawn that lady just a little more proportional. I mean, not that I dont like "well endowed" ladies, but come on. This junk was just about worse than faye. All in all, it looks cool. I guess I just need to give it some more time before I can give it a rating. so for now I will hold out on my 1 to 10 rating. Be back tomorrow to give the rating.

Well, that deffinition is an even better example of how killing and Murder can be different things. I also wanna mention that I wasnt giving definitions, I was giving my interpretations of the words meanings. I think the bottom line in a differance, IMHO, is that murder is a specific action and killing is a general action. Even that can be contested, but that is not the point of this thread. I also thought I would mention that the above definition drew my interest, and so, I got out a little dictionary. Infact the above definition is correct. Although, my dictionary added the line " the unlawful killing of another person." either way, I believe capital punishment is the only way to serve justice to those who were the victims of said criminal. Its not like capital punishment is administrated in a cruel or unusual way. Lethal injection is a rather peacful way of dying. (hell, we put dogs to sleep the same way.) Where as the victims of the criminal suffered a death that could have been any number of horrible things. Above all else, the victims death was unwarranted. Killing the criminal who performed such a crime would be warranted. I mean if you kill some one else, you should get what you gave. (you should know whats coming to you if you murder someone.)

I dont really know if the mods will let this one slide. But I dont think its a bad topic... so Im gonna reply. I would pursue the powers mentioned at all cost. Then once I learned to fly, I would re-evaluate my situation. Flying is what I would want, extreme power... that is just something I dont care for too much. Ahhh who am I kidding, I would go to the furthest reaches of the universe just to become as powerful as the z fighters. I would never give up, and I would probably fall victim to greed... always craving more power.

Dripping water? How about the real water torture no one ever gets to learn about. (go read Ghost soldiers. Its the true story of the baton death march and baton death camp rescue) I woulnt say what the real form of this torture is unless someone ask. Its too disgusting for the open boards. It really is that bad. So go ahead and ask. The reason I came to post again was another thought I had. When ghandi said the above qoute, he was speaking to his people during a time of civil insurection and revolution. He wasnt addressing criminal law. Also, murder a murderer? Go check out christian theology on the subject of "thou shall not kill" and "thou shall not murder." In the past that subject has been debated, and I believe that murder is a contextual thing. Murder to me is the unwarranted killing of another person. Killing, that is ending a life, no reasons are implied.

If an eye for an eye makes the world go blind... I would rather be blind than have to see the horrors people get away with.

I think you should try and get the subbed just because it will give you the original stuff. But the truth is that this is the perfect thread to start the long debated arguement "subbed vs dubbed." That arguement is getting really old and most mods. woulnt allow it to be discussed due to the redundance of the topic. So if this thread turns into that sort of arguement... I will for warn you... it woulnt be accepted and will be reason for this threads closure. good luck with the choice.

I believe this has been done before. I also think this is subjective to your individual area. In the U.S.A. the death penalty is still in use in many states. I personally believe that capital punishment is a valid form of punishment. Once a person is killed, you cant bring them back. That means that there is no way a person can be served justice if they are murdered. Its also an odd scenerio because everyone wants to talk about the rights of the person on trial, but if you ask me, I think the first concern should be for the rights of the person who was already murdered. (I mean come on... "victims rights") I also believe that as we progress further into this era of dna evidence the rate of wrongly executed prisoners will drop dramatically. So yea... I support the application of the death penalty.

Well, This is a good question. I believe dbz will always be just as special as it was the first time we all saw it. Most of the time people who would feel that dbz lost its greatness are the kinds of people who like music until it hits the top ten, then its not good anymore. I feel that the actual animation will always be special. However, the goods which will be sold with the dbz name on it...those will be the crap that makes dbz appear to not be special. Fact is, as long as dbz is a thing that is personal to you, it will never loose its greatness. But if you are into dbz just for the moment due to your buddies being into it, you probably woulnt think its all that special in a few years. I do think that dbz is going more mainstream, but anime is in general. In the end, its all about the individual. If you think bootlegs are cool because no one else has them...then dbz is no longer for you. (hasnt been for a while) But if you like bootlegs because of the amazing content they contain...dbz will always be your ****.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Kent replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Im sayin Hell Yea! to the new adult swim weekdays. I mean... Lupin the 3rd Inu Yasha Cowboy Bebop I dont remember the rest, but I know its the typical adult swim week end stuff. Im just suprised with cartoon networks "come through" in this rather than just ditching the anime all together. Oh yea, it was yu yu, that was the show I forgot. Any way. Talk about a nice weeknight line up. Sorry to everyone who is in highschool or lower. That doesnt permit for late night week days. But dont worry, I will keep you all filled in. -
For sure. That is just plain rude. But the fact of the matter is that you had them out classed in every way. Even if you were sporting the homeless garb, you would have still come off more respectable than those fools. Only the lowest resort to personal insult while in a scholarly debate. I congradulate you for being the better man.

Hell yea I would do it. Not only do I have no life here, but there are two more important reasons. 1. that is the be all and end all of ways to become history book worthy. 2. and most important to me, My family. If I didnt stay behind to do what no one else would, then my family, friends, loved ones would all perish. I wouldnt allow that.

Well, Actually there are two buu's. Uubu and Buu. Buu is the fat pink fella. The story with him is correct in the first reply. Buu becomes friends with hercule and stays with him. They rig the tournaments and buu always lets hercule win. One thing that was left out was how the z fighters use a wish to wipe the earths memories of buu clear so that the pink fatty woulnt be remembered by the earthlings he had killed. So yea... buu is still around and doing the tournament thing with satan with an earth that doesnt know a thing of him. Then there is uubu. He is a little fella, dark skinned, and a mohawk, who appears in episode 288 or 289. This guy is tiny but gokou knows who he is. Just as said in the above, when the evil buu died, gokou wished him to be reincarnated and yemma listened. Buu comes back as a human and goes to fight in the tournament to get money for his family. Gokou has buu do a little magic and sets up a fight between gokou and uubu. They fight a great fight, but when gokou notices that uubu cant fly he offers to train him. Then gokou says goodbye to his family, tells goten and trunks they are the futures only hope and gives pan a hug. After that gokou puts uubu on his back and flies off towards uubu's island home. Gokou tells uubu his real motivation (to fight uubu at his full strength) and then they blast off together "...To Become Stronger..." (thats the title of the last ep. #291) Thats about it. (oh and thanks to shinobi for the acknoledgment to jin17, piro, and I, now maybe I am the otaku my post count would indincate)

Although its a bit of the subject, your classroom poster is funny (almost). I dont mean to be rude, but I get very political on the boards and rather than go into politics here on this thread, I want to ask that you leave the metaphoric (and inaccurate) symoblism of governments in the classroom. Sorry. But I do find your paragraph or so, about lord of the rings and the symbolism there to be of interest. I would have to say the greed of people has been an issue for humanity for all of time. Tolken wasnt the first or last to write about greed. I think that the most important part of this thread is sticking to the idea of pascivism, which if you ask me is a redundant topic anyway because the only time it can work is with 2 little words in front of it... "in theory." As long as we (humans) think of things like government in theory and not in practice, we will never be able to move on.

Anime Who do you think is a better God Dende or Kami?
Kent replied to SS5 Gogeta's topic in Otaku Central
Well, besides the point of who is better and that type of thread not being allowed; kami and dende are not gods. They are the protectors of the earth. Good luck with this thread, it looks like the kind to be closed. -
Well, As mentioned above they are already done with making the shows. The last stuff aired in 1994. However, there is a bunch for you to still see. If you are only in the android saga, the begining of it at that, then there is still a ton to come. First off, there is all of dragonball which will grow on you. Then there is all of dbz. You are currently at about the half way point of dbz. Then there is dbgt which is still yet to be fully seen by myself and and many others. Im not sure about the gt stuff, but db and dbz air on cable all the time now. That still leaves out the movies and tv specials. All of those are good. Movies alone, there are (I think) 14 movies. Maybe more, maybe less. I hope you manage to catch it all, but I can tell you first hand; if you dont go out and buy tons and tons of anime, it might take a long while to catch everything in db. good luck.

I believe North Korea wants the cold war, nothing more. They have had over 60,000 artillery pieces aimed at the south since the Korean war ended. If they are even thinking of putting energy into a military attack, it will be on south Korea. Even then a military attack will take a level of "nation energy" Korea doesnt have,to supply an army and maintain control over a poverty strictend, starving country. I believe North Korea wants to play in the big game of cards. This is a time when the largest communist nation (china), is part of the wto. At this time (N) Korea is at its lowest and needs buying and loaning power in the world economy. Iraq is completly a different scenario, and (james) we both agree some action should be taken in some way.
-
What is the point in going to war with an already established nuclear power, and trying to talk with a power that hasnt obtained that power yet. I figure diplomacy is the answer for korea and for Iraq... we should deal with them before they become part of the nuke club. I mean... rushing into war with N.K. and talking with Iraq?
-
Unfortunatly, America is well with in range of the North Korean inter-continental "Dong Missile" supplied by the technology of the communist Chinese.(communist love to share that sort of thing. Im willing to bet the chinese version is a copy of the russian ICBM.) There is a difference between North Korea and Iraq. Since Im realy on the boards for now to go see my gran turismo thread, I will try a metaphoric explanation of their differences. Iraq is like a rabid dog, unpredictable, dangerous, and worst of all, Saddam is expecting a reigm change to take place. Saddam knows that people want him out and he may well have to leave. So when he thinks, he is thinking in the moment and more likely to engage in rash thinking. Where as, North Korea is like a bad house pet. Always causing trouble, but always thinking as an established presence that must plan for the future. This pet knows its got it nice, so it is trying to milk it. North Korea knows that they recieved vast quantities of material to sustain its self, while secretly pursuing missle tech. illegally. All of those food shipments and monitary hand outs came from the united states over the last 8 years. (everyone knows this stuff, its the 1994 treaty we are all hearing so much about.) so the bottom line. North Korea wants a cold war. Saddam wants to deal with his pressing "issues" and try to hold on to his absolute power at any cost.

Oh thats bull, austraillia is putting forces into the same efforts as the U.S. because they have a common enemy. Both the U.S. and Austraillia are "capitalist" countries who are constantly under the threat of attacks like the hotel attack that claimed a sizeable number of aussies lives a couple months back. Plus, w. Bush's father didnt fail a war. Im not even gonna bother wasting the knowledge on you, but go learn the military history of the gulf war from the americans, british or french if you must, all of them will show an honestly amazing victory by allied forces. The fact is, Bush 41 was merciful and allowed huesain to stay in power in Iraq if he kept his word to the U.N. and the U.S. If he did or not, thats not for me to decide, but, I do not see any reason to act like the liberation of kuwait was a failed war effort.

Since this has just about died, and I remembered the topic was here, I have decided to bring it back and use this thread as the base for the discussion I would have had in a new thread. The Venus Wars I know everyone has seen it, but there are always some who haven't. With that in mind I want everyone to try and watch the venus wars, and then come back here and talk about it. Alright then, go get to it.

This is the sort of trivial knowledge I love, good call on putting it up. I also should mention that the whole chastity belt thing is kinda funny to me. Think about where we are today tell me what would be different if people wore things like chastity belts. Ummm... yea... sorry that was a bit off. Anyway, good call on the info, heres a little question. Did you all know that midevil wars were already using biological warfare during their day. Its not all that secret or anything, Im sure plenty of you know. But for anyone who doesnt,...Basically, when laying siege to a fortress the sieging army could catapault dead bodies, limbs and heads into the besieged castle. This would spread diease and was done specifically for that reason. Sorta vile... no, really vile. So, did you know that?

Hallabjah. Look that up. Everyone, Please.

First matter of my reply is directed to zero about the "miata thing." I personally find the miata suited well for the game. Using 1 miata you can race and win the first couple of clubman type races with ease. Following that, you can access the roadster cup, the na or turbo cups, as well as the FR races and any gt cup you can keep up with. I will say, the miata is a crap car, I personally do not like it. But, it has potential to be a useful sports car in the early game. Another amazing racer to me is the corvette, thats right, the corvette. It suprised me how well the new Z06 corvette was represented in the game. I have one now fully modified with no racing decals. It has served me well and although I will find a better car, this is a great car to pick up with the first chance to spend 50,000. Eventually, with enough racing and proper knowledge of the game, money becomes no concern. But early in the game you have to work your way up, so finding the quality car pick on the first try is important. I also have to mention the pressure sensitivity. This feature was a major factor for me in previous games. In GT2 the lack of a mid rpm throttle was horrible. This time around its awesome, and with the uses taught by liciensing, pressure sensitive gasing&braking can make you a faster racer. I still have hang ups with the lay out for the user to navigate from things like the save screen, to the race screen. This causes dealing with loading, saving and car experimentation harder and slower. The only other gripe I have is the replay being such a center piece of the game. I believe the replay should be in the game, but it gets old having to click through a bunch of different options and screens just to finish the race you just won. Overall I still hold this game as the king of racing games. 9/10 score because nothing is perfect (except the finest of women) ---------------------------------------------------- Alright, now its on! Ive gotten through the crapy starting stuff and have gotten knee deep in the game. Ive got all the licenses including the super. I have a car that is workable on the mid level circuts and a couple of others that will do just fine for now. I also wanna mention that getting the super opens that final race to you, which is a formula race of sorts. Most of the cars in it looked like indy or cart, but I wouldnt be suprised if there are formula 1 cars in it. I also wanna mention a tip I found to help on the last test of the super license: toy. GT one 99, corte d azur is the course. During this race, I payed less attention to the gear indincator than most. Instead of taking your eyes to the next turn indincator, just get ready and watch, use the feel of the car and past experience with the many failed attempts you are bound to have taken. Oddly, I didnt have trouble with any of the other test. It must have been a good day for race testing. I managed to beat the final 6 test of the super license in about an hour or less. Hopfully Im not wasting my time on this thread, for some reason I thought there were a bunch of gran turismo nuts here. Oh well, its cool.
