The racing game to end all racing games. (well atleast until GT4 comes out) So heres the deal, I have finally gotten my hands on a copy of gt3. (yea, I know it took a while) Being the gran turismo nut I am, I had to start up a little discussion about the game. I wanted to hear about how you guys play the game. (as in what cars and general set ups) Or how you progressed through the levels. What kinds of medals you have on the licenses, how many races and win you have. That sort of thing. Ive had my copy for about 2 days now. I started with a miata, worked to a mitsu lancer evo 6, then and currently a c5 vette. This made for an easy transition between advancing difficulties during the beginer circut. Ill be back to talk more...

I would give the dubs an 5 out of 10. This is all really a matter of personal opinion. Since there arent too many things that really drive me up the wall, Im not gonna be too harsh. But I do hate the change of dialoge and change of feelings expressed because of that. When you curse, it makes a statment of anger that is hard to beat. So when you replace all the dirty words, suggestive dialoge and any major violence, you get one majorly toned down show. Usually toning down ends up screwing over the loyal fans that brought the show its popularity. I still go with one concept when thinking of these things... Something is better than nothing. So I will take what I can get, dub or not.

I just now went to see what kind of money I could get from a shop on a trade in specifically to buy another game. Do you know how much Z.O.E. with the demo disc in perfect condition is worth in credit? 3 bucks. That low of a value may have saved this game from being a waste. I was gonna ditch it, but with that kind of lame return, I may as well keep it and give it another try. So... it looks like Z.O.E. is getting a second chase from me. I'll be back with another view once I have played the game some more.

Uh... No. I believe total pacifism is not possible. Look at your examples. Even in them, the main gundam pilots had to fight to protect the innocent. Pacifism has its place, just not total pacifism. Gundam is an excellent example of why pacifism doesnt work. Every time the earth is just about peaceful, the un-provocked attacks of the pricipality of zeon come up. Pacifism in a complete and total way only ends up in helplessness and the in-ability to defend ones self.

Well actually I was suprised enough to check on two different news channels. First I caught it on the home turf, FOX News, but then I went to independant sources, and found MSNBC airing the same press release and that gave me a question about its creditbility also. I think that nbc and abc would probably air something about this if there were real ratings/money behind it. Im sure everyone is right, (or I atlest hope so) that this is fake. But how does it make you feel to think that cloning is on its way. You can get as deep as you want to about it. I woulnt be making a post after today for a while, so when I get back from my journey home, I will post a, hopefully, nice little reply about this little pandora's box.

Ok, Some woman has come forth and claimed to have created the first human clone. The baby has been named "Eve." The baby nor any evidence has been supplied and the claim is very suspect of being fraud. The organization has almost no recognition and the whole story seems to be shady. But they have come out and said a baby has been clone. The people or "they" are a company called clone-aid. The oddest thing about this is the origin of the group doing this. They are all part of a religious sect called "Raelist" who follow and worship based on the experience of a race car driver with the last name Rael. Rael had an encounter with aliens and learned that the entire human race was born from clones who were created by aliens that started this civilization. Even funnier is this coincidence... Rael, guess what company he founded. You guessed it, clone-aid. Kinda odd that they claim to have the first human clone... No evidence makes kent a very curious boy.

Well, just to mention.. I put up the time of the first airing, but off the top of my head I dont remember it. I believe the program first to air will show at 10:00 Jan. 13. Its gonna be the one with the word stars somewhere in the title. Most of that stuff is posted in my thread somewhere in the last page or so. Check it out for a list of everything tech tv is going to air.

I would say your gonna have to refresh my mine as for why gokou, or rather, when gokou had a hard time lifting a bus up. So on the post yet to come, try and make your threads point more clear.

Well, the way I see it, no one ever said to drop your fan subs. However, when you sit there and knock on dubbed stuff, it makes you sound like the opposite side of that extreme fanboy crap. You know the fanboy you mentioned, the dbz idiots. Well for alot of us who are in the middle, we see extreme dubbed haters who never have anything positive to say unless its about an anime barely anyone knows of. Then the second that anime gets big, its not cool any more for some unexplainable reason. I think that the growth of anime and tech tv picking it up is a good thing. As you said, more fans get to see more, and new fans will be created. This will have a possible end product that will make anime that is acceptable to you (subbed) more availible to not just you, but many others that may end up wanting to see it. By tech showing it, all that could happen is a positive growth, more anime in stores, movie theaters, movie rentals, and cable television. Of course idiot fanboys may catch on, but why let them ruin an amazing thing that you were already enjoying. If you were enjoying an apple and then everyone ate an apple, would an apple taste any worse than it already did. NO. Plus, like I said, no one asked you to drop the subbed, just quit with the cliched bashing of the dubbed.

You should delete this now. There is a thread for this anime on page 2 of this forum. You can find out tons there. And since you didnt say anything important, I would really suggest that. Plus, your a newb. and its not a good way to start here, That is, with spammy repeat topics. I hope you have fun on the boards, and just try checking out the other thread on page two. Once this is closed you woulnt be able to do a thing, and that includes deleting. Plus, this will be closed. So... I would heed my advice. Oh yea, sorry if this was all a little harsh. Thats my bad. Just trying to keep the boards nice, clean and lively.

Oh please... More dubbed anime on tv! Hmmmm... That is so cliched. And (Mako) that post is just about what I would call spam. Plus, dubbed or not, its still anime that most people dont get to see. So no matter how much some "hard core fans" hate dubbed, it still contributes to the growth of anime, far more than the anime that keeps a language barrier between "us and them." (of course I know sub titles are there. But alot of people dont like to read constantly, they like to watch the anime itself. Although I have no beef with subs.) Either way, Im super crazy about the idea of anime going to tech tv. This is just one more chance for a love of mine, that far too many of my friends dont appreciate, to get the attention it deserves and be appreciated. So, theres just one more thing. I might not be a mod. but I still know that if this crap about subbed and dubbed keeps up, a mod. is gonna get in here and remind us all of what a stupid argument it is. Btw, everyone should go back to the bottom of page one and read the post I put up. It has the list of anime coming to tech tv, and it has some personal insights about what might be on the horizon for anime unleashed. (tech tv anime)

I think this is the most subjective of all questions on the forum. If you ask me, the best game to date is one that achieves its goal and then goes beyond that. Grand theft auto is close, but it does have techinical flaws which hold it back in terms of overall quality. I also think that alot of the games out there that are the best in their genres, but dont get any credit for being the greatest. Look at ace combat 4. Truely a beautiful game, technically accurate, perfect graphics, realistic simulation qualities, and a touch of arcade "after burner style" fighter jet fun. With all that, the game still gets no credit from anyone that isn't a complete junkie for flight sims. So where does this leave me in picking a greatest game to date. Frankly... it leaves me lost. I would perfer to give a "best game in this catergory" sort of opinion as done before in another thread. But since I wanna go with the trend and give a game for best released to date, and I havent gotten my hands on gran turismo 3. Im gonna have to say "Ace Combat 4." Its the perfect game for ME. I always wanted to fly an F-14 and with this game I can. If I gave another game credit... grand theft auto 3/ vice navy seals: socom lord of the rings: the two towers (just a little too short) Those are the honorable mentions with countless others which I will be back with an edit to mention.

Hey, I already know. I'm 21 and went out of my way to make sure my parents didnt buy me any presents. I am however getting a present that is a mix of material and sincerity. Its a great gift. My parentals are setting my brother and I up to make a thousand mile journey back to my homeland of Williamsburg, VA. Its gonna be the best, Ill get to see all my old friends and maybe with a large portion of luck, Ill get to see my ex girlfriend. So... Yup, thats what Im getting, a present no one can buy, but one that is gonna be worth more than almost any material good Ive gotten for christmas in the past.

Ive got a good amount of the "downlow" on the subject. "crest of the stars," "serial experiments lain," "betterman," "dual," "silent mobius." All of those are deffinatly on the schedule. But on the web site for tech tv, they also had an add up that was unmistakably a picture from "macross plus" while that picture/ad also had the name "ghost in the shell" on it. So there is a chance of both of those coming up on their schedule sometime in the future. The starting of this stuff will be on Dec. 30, starting with "crest of the stars." I hope we all get to catch this stuff. Even if we've seen it before, its always nice to see it more or again. Plus its nice to see the "sub culture" of anime growing. I think we should pull something like the rick hunter anime review club "thingy" and talk about the stuff that airs on tech here, rather than have a bunch of different threads started by every newb. the day these shows air. What do you think?

I dont know, I would say I have to I disagree with your praises of this game. I believe the game is much more on the side of o.k. rather than great. I think the game lacked in the game play area. True, it was fast paced and interesting. It can also mezmorize you with its graphics. Yet for some reason, the game grew old to me very quickly and besides the amazing mech action that is involved, there wasnt much to help keep me from regreting my purchase. Its a great looking game and it plays alright, but if I could take my purchase back and get something else... I would. The only good thing to this game was its frantic action between mechs. I dont think Ive played a game that caught the essence of mech fighting the way this game did. Although, I still dont think it was all that great. I also wanna mention that this thread has been done before, infact, I started one that sounded much like what you did in the above right after I bought the game. So... keep an eye out for somebody to close this sucker. It just might happen. Although I dont want that cause I hate closings, plus its good to have atleast one thread for every game.

I wanna start running again. Everyday I used to run 3 miles with out a stop. Now I just sit around everynight and drink beer. After a night like that, you dont feel like running the next day. So with that in mind, I also wanna stop drinking. Maybe just on weekend and only socially. But either way, those two are my big ones. The rest of my stuff would be to get my schooling on a role and maybe enroll at a different college. Good luck to everyone else with their resolutions!!

Now that is an excellent site. I think you all should be very happy with your work. I dont know too much about eva because Im not a fan of anime I have to purchase (I like free stuff on tv and the net) so seeing you site gave me alot to look at and read that I would have otherwise been deprived of for atleast a good long time. I also liked the way all the little pictures led to big ones, like on the charactors page and whatnot. Thanks for the quality site.

I wouldnt mind getting my hands on shonen jump. I know it also prints fist of the north star. Or atleast thats where fons first appeared. I would like to get it mostly to see anime that I dont know about. Stuff that doesnt show up anywhere else. So I guess its reall a question of how can you get it by this point.

Actually, the truth about the game is that if it was longer, it would be worth buying hands down. The game is amazing, no doubt about it. Its just too damn short. Other wise, its an awesome game for which I have nothing but praise.

I actually think this game is just down right a let down. Mostly for one specific reason. The attacking. The main charactor that you play has the same old combo of moves over and over. I think it was said best above when someone mentioned stealth and adventure. Those elements would have added greatly and then with a whole new slew of moves for attacking, the game might have lived up to the hype. Other wise, it is one of the most over rated games Ive ever played. Sorry, but I need a bunch of different attacks and sweet kill moves. In fact, I think the original tenchu did a better job of ninja style gaming. Shinobi is just a big stinker if you ask me. Maybe if the game had been ignored or totally under rated by everyone, but since it was hyped to be one of the best games this year, I think it falls horribly short. ------------------------------------------------- I also wanna mention that Ive just found a confirmation that shinobi will be made into a movie, dont know when, how or why, but it looks to be happening. Lets wait and see.

I believe it was something deeper. As I said in my original post, I believe it was a love for humans. Not our morTality, but our morality. The beauty of humans lies within our unseen nature. Our love and caring nature. Not the frailties we carry, but our strengths that are hidden. I believe he loved all humans before any demons, and that is why he decided to let inu yasha have the sword and only let it activate when he defended a human.

I gotta say, I think that thread was actually great. Im not a fan of animes where the main charactors are 12 and 13 years old. I also am with vicious on that whole rookie taking down vets thing. I mean, a group of 5 rookies who can all handle hardend vets, who are all entrusted with the most powerful gundams in the universe. I loved the animation of wing, I liked the story. I thought the gundam designs were also awesome, but the stuff already mentioned by vicious really did take away the the overall quality of the series. and oh yea, this is a gundam forum not specific to wing, I know shy guy knows that, it was just a slip of the tounge probably.

Hot Damn, I loved it. Nothing in it was bad except the experience of watching a 60 foot screen from 15 feet away because I was in a sold out movie theater. Im gonna go see it again in a couple of weeks when it woulnt be as crowded. Still, it was an amazing movie. I cant wait for the return of the king. Ive heard some stuff about the symbolism in the books and I thought I would mention one. The scene where they are walking through the swamp with all the dead people in the floor of it. That was taken directly from the authors experience in ww1. Now for my own observation. Im wondering if the tree people that attack at the end are supposed to represent America in a way. They were reluctant to enter the war, and decided not to get in to it. But then when they had the war directly effect them by having innocents of their people killed, they jumped in and kicked some ***. What do you think?

Hmmmmm... I couldnt say one game is better than the other for me. I would rather say that it is all about the execution of the game. I love racing, flying, shooting, adventure, mecha, hack and slash, and of course, a good strategy game. Im as good at one as I am all the rest, but Im not the best at any. Except maybe racing since I can get gold on all licenses in gran turismo 1 & 2, just need to get my hands on 3.
