Actually this serves as a nice reminder. You don't miss it till it's gone. :( I liked outlaw star thinking back and actually, that opening song for the real shows (not the toonami cuts) was really an awesome song. (*walks away humming that song from the opening :D )

Im not really sure. I wish you the best of luck. I must ask though... How would you feel it someone made your mother a criminal for home schooling you? Well ask the home taught students of california and you might get some extra insight. :D (Davis anyone?)

Well thats what Ive heard and seen. Girl power is what extented play had to say. And game informer said this game strayed from the typical rpg, although Im not really sure what they meant when they gave their bunk complaints. So I wondered if this game is really any good or if its just a pathetic fan service rpg. Thanks for the read and response. btw, try to go into detail about what makes the game good or bad. Please :D

Gaming Killzone - Dubbed a "Halo Killer" (56kers be careful)
Kent replied to I, Colossus's topic in Noosphere
I got a preview of this in my "game informer" magazine today and it looks awesome. Definatly gonna be on my watch list for the next couple of ps2 game buys. This and gt4 will round out my collection well. -
Dude, you totally needed to use a spoiler tag on that. I mean really, really, need that spoiler tag. And mods, please, take a request from an old member and... Take it easy on this guy. This sort of repeated thread is what you get when you dont have sub forums for 5 or 6 of the most popular animes out there. Good luck with your quest. (then again, I would say its over now that you've got an answer to your question)

Well, not to make this a subject of israel, but... America does not give near as much money to Israel as it does to the rest of the middle eastern countries. (I count all other countries together since the Arab world has collectively established an alliance on only one subject- a hate for Israel) It should also be noted that Israel on an individual comparison still does not recieve the largest monitary or humanitarian aid donations from the US. I have always liked underdogs, whether it was rocky or anyone else, so when I see Israel fight repeated wars against zealots and alliances of Arab countries, (such as with the war of '67 when Israel was alone in a fight against 6 established arab countries like syria & egypt) I end up supporting those who are the underdog. It is true that palestine could be seen as an underdog, but when the entire middle eastern world aids you in a war on the infadels, underdog status goes out the window. Sorry to rant. Just had to. This subject isn't as simple as school yard bullies and lunch money.

Evangelion anyone? Unfortunatly cn hasn't done much if any of this series, so most of the otaku people with only cn as an anime resource don't know the series. But in terms of speed and fighting, they are amazing and as soon as I can get some pics together I will be back to blow your minds.

Im directly related to sir arthur connan doyle (sp? :D how embarressing) He created sherlock holmes as well as the story of "the lost world." Im willing to bet that each one of us could dig real deep and eventually find someone in each of our families who has made a mark on the world.

     Now that is just about perfect. I was expecting some sick example of indoctrination, but instead I got a great laugh. Thanks bro.:D

*BTW Ken* Her name is spelled Ann Coulter. Funny how a liberal picked up that mistake. Lol. Oh thanks... I kinda knew I spelled it wrong though... being that the "(sp?)" was behind the original attempt at spelling the name. But hey, thanks for pointing it out, otherwise Im not sure if people would have known what I was talking about. I should also mention what a big deal it is about a liberal picking up on that... geez I dont know what I would have done Anyway, I can see where this is going, and Im getting out now. I gave up on discussions about important social/political issues here on the boards. (for many reasons, but most would end up insulting someone, sorry about that.) Just remember everyone, this is a simple thread about percieved bias in the media, not just another chance to knock on your political opposition. Although Im glad to see liberals pulling their wieght here on the board. Gotta keep the place fair and balanced, right? :D:laugh:

Do you guys know who this is? I don't know if this is the same les claypool from primus, but he does tons of music for all sorts of anime. Trigun, fist of the north star... Both I know for sure are done by les claypool. Do you guys know any other shows he does and for that matter, just tell me what the deal is with this guy. Is he the les from primus?

Ann Culter (sp?) Thats the author and one fine babe none the less. I haven't read the book, although I fully share the opinion. (in most cases) NBC, ABC, CBS, Headline News All of those channels are extremely liberal and don't really express anything besides a skewed view. Except for one... fox news. Fox is hated by all liberals. I can't say exactly why, but I would guess it's because they express both sides at all times. Note that I didn't say they are in the middle, rather, they provide both sides through representives of the respective views. Oh yeah, the other reason they could be hated is because they are a cable news station that actually managed to take the number one spot in the overall ratings. (this spot until recently was always reserved for network news, hence, a liberal corp.) So yeah, I know what your sayin and totally support you. There is a bias and indeed, it creates an air of one sidedness in the countries media. Glad to see you bring it up. Now my question is... Where the hell were you and drix d' at 6 months ago when I was the only person on the board who held these views? :D Thanks for bringing it up though... till next time.

OMG, Im lovin it...!!!! I think I have found a member to keep my eyes on. Drix D' Zanth, Job well done. Except for the whole thing about who's smarter, all of your statments are factual and well presented. (as for who's smarter, I find it easier to just leave that out... then it's only facts and nothing more. *although what you say about intelligence may also be fact.) Its sad to see, but true. I just wish more people would be willing to acknowledge these truths. Bottom line: Its about time someone brought this stuff up. (oh yeah, forgot to mention... the 1,000 to 100,000... someone else pulled a stunt like that... terry mccullah (sp?) head of the dnc, turned a similar profit. Only his dealings were in the late 90's with a company called world com. ) (and why in the hell does the name george bush keep coming up in a thread about the history/resume of hill clinton?)

I would trust him at the moment. Any friends that are as close to you as you are saying would never try to date your boyfriend. I think you should stick with him. Trans was right about one thing... friends dont go out with your boyfriend. As for what they could have to gain... thats yet to be seen if you ask me. I say you wait for something real to happen, not just rumors. good luck... btw, who made the suspicious calls to you to tell you about this stuff? Was it the friends who were dating him in your absence? Just remember that any friend willing to date your boyfriend, is not a real friend.

Well, the sooner the better! Im currently getting ready for the bvb3 comp. (board versus board competition #3) Im one of 10 racers to be selected at www.gtplanet.net/forum for the race and it's quite the honor. (10 thousand plus are members at the gtp.) Im not even near the fastest, but Im working at it, and it would be great to get some more racing in before it's time to buckle down and race my *** off for the comp. Hit me as soon as you get a race into your head. --------------------------------- edit: ----------- qouted from spike speigel: aight it got it. the Mines Skyline R34. setup any way u want. leguna seca. consider it a first round warmup. ill post a time soon. if u dont like it then tell me an i choose something different. i know leguna is a small board but i need to get my bearings back. aight. lata! ---------------- So there you have it... Im down with this race and will be doing it instantly. Just pick your tuning level for the hp. Do all other mods and be sure to hit me once you figure out the exact turbo stage you wanna run. I just finished a race with this car a couple of weeks ago, so I should be pretty good about controlling it. However take my warning, this car is a crap box. (relativly speaking of course.)

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Kent replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Every time I watch one of the "regulars" on cn, (cb in this case) I end up looking for a "general (insert title here)" thread. Today of course it was bebop. It's nice to have the show around and I've recently picked up on signs of what I feel are rather adult subjects, that some might not already notice. What a great series it is ;) If any of you newbies haven't watched the series, its starting on adult swim from the first episode as of tonight. So catch it if you can. -
Alright! Awesome, I was really looking forward to playing some gt over here at the otaku. Listen, what do you guys say we pick a race and start racing. I could give some suggestions, but why dont the two of you go to your machines and check out what you would like to do. I dont know how long it's been since you last played, so hit me when your ready. Right now Im involved in some other racing also, so I would love to play with you guys at the same time. If Im lucky, I might be able to get an mpeg of my replays. I have what they call a "sharkport" aka "x-port." This device allows me to back up any memory card data to my pc. Regardless of data type... game data or replays of my best laps. I also have a program called mks garage editor. This sucker takes the downloaded garage from your memory card. (that is backed up on your pc.) And use a pc program to mix and match any parts of any cars in anything from the game. 9 hundred and 99 million dollars. Cool. As I told james, the mixing and matching is awesome. Cooper mini, 4wd, 1000+ hp, f1 tires. Anything you want, including the hidden cars. These cars are written into the code, but not accessible by the user due to legal problems with the company and product. Even the car in the picture I am attaching is available with the sharkport. But anyway, heres the deal: the sec you guys are ready, just say car/track combo. Keep it in arcade if you want, or in sim mode. I would personally suggest we go with a single best lap in free run with a specific arcade car. (makes it easy to know we are all using the same vehicle.) Good! Then its settled. Now get a load of this lambo. (sorry, had a hard time finding an in game pic. Just trust me though) (oh yeah, Im not worried about proving times too much if you guys can't do that. Its all good.)

I agree with most aspects of "chuck's" post. :D (hope you dont mind :D ) Except one thing, I felt that the fighting was "re-done" quite well. Most of the charactors control in the same basic ways, but have a variety of specific controls for the individual. The old school, tap ___ 3 times to do a 3 move combo is not as present as it was in the older versions of this game, and for that I consider the moves to be a bit more challenging. However, there is still an ease of offensive control for most charactors that allows the novice to easily progress through the game. Edge master has several new innovations. My favorite was the ability to select charactor and weapon. (not just weapon like in the previous games) I also really like the gaurd system. (I forget the exact name) But this system was really well done and allowed for some excellent depth in the fighting. (no more repeated button mashing, you will be parried if you even try) Overall the game was good. Except one major problem... I found either a bad disc, or there are bugs in the game...? which one it is, I dont know yet, but problems smoothly loading fight screens after menu screens seemed to be an occassional problem with my copy. Oh yeah, one other thing about the game is the ease of overall completion. I just rented the sucker and beat all of the weapon master mode without much trouble at all. (keep in mind that I have only played the original title... soul blade) Anyway, so yeah, I liked the game and would suggest everyone try renting it. You just might buy it, then again, you may wait for the next tekken or the next vf.

Well, (with sanctioning by james :D ) I am offering all of you at the otaku the chance to take part in the world of online racing. olr. This is for gran turismo3 Basically, we would all use the same car, do our best racing at home, and turn in times to (me) and see where we placed. So here's the deal. If you guys or girls are interested in playing a little gt and maybe talking about it from time to time, please post a note to me here. I would hope we could do something of a weekly challenge. Any cars, no hard and specific rules. We can take it nice and easy. Hope to see a good turn out :D Thanks, and see ya at the finish line.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Kent replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Well, my patience and joy with and for cn is growing and fading. Im getting tired of cn using great shows as marketing tools to bring viewers from one spot to another. (*like with kenshin now on saturdays.) Im also loving the fact that over the last 6 months or so we have seen cn bring flcl, igpx, gundam sd, and maybe even a few others that Im not mentioning. I haven't seen igpx, nor gundam sd... regardless of what you guys may think of those shows, Im gonna give them a chance. Im also glad to see more inu yasha back on and of course I was happy to see kenshin continue. (even in its new and horrible spot) I think the only thing I really want to see is the fight between yuske and tugaro. (sp?) For the time being, Im still watching cn, but as usual, its the usual trade between hating cn and loving them. -
I didn't bother with any of the above. (that is rude. I am sorry about my actions.) However, I still wish to address the first post. To teach this subject in public schools there must be one thing. (IMO) Uniformity of material. The concepts of the entitled subject are all plausable and supportable. With out a standardized subject guideline, the individual teacher can interpret the material. Now that the teacher can interpret the slow and gradual changes of "man," it is possible for an individual's beliefs in the "soul" be expressed in the lecture portions of the course. That also reminds me of one more time to discuss the subject, and that's the area of the text books themselves. This actually presents a real dilemma to me. I would like to see a representation of (frankly... evolution) "intelligent design" in a text book that presented a very objective view of the changes with in each individual species over time. However, any suggestions of man's earliest possible connections to a different species should be avoided. Oh shoot, I just realized another thing... the level of education this subject is being taught at should also come into play! I guess this is a symbol to me now that, this subject is just too hard to fully cover in a single post. Sorry to "ramble on" so long. :D

Im glad to see you were touched by cb. Was the end a suprise to me? Hmmm, I'm not really sure. Basically, it has been a while since I first saw the ending. I will tell you this though... no matter how many times I see that series, the "greater emotional themes" always hit my heart. One of the best shows out there. (imo) But it can also serve to be the most depressing.

Ive actually noticed alot of what arnold has to say and he really sounds to have his "leadership priorities" together. The people this, the people that. But for this guy, it really is from the heart. You can just read it in his charactor. I support arnolds run for the governorship for many reasons, but the most important one... He seems to really in putting the public interest before anything else. I haven't noticed him saying "no new taxes." But I'm willing to bet arnold is capable of orginizing an economic recovery team that will re-evaluate already existing taxes, and create newer more effecient taxes. All of this resulting in better buisness managment, that in the end saves the tax payer as well as the state. Who really knows? Oh yeah, lets keep this about the race for gov. of california. abortion is extremly touchy for everyone. we should discuss that subject in the appropriate thread.

I think Im done with this right about now. Yeah, thanks for the compliments. But dont you worry, I think we all have a membership to that big board called... oh what was it again... oh well. What ever the case, enjoy your discussion, but I'll have an eye out for your post. ;)
