So how many episodes do we have left in the series? Also, how many eps. do we have left with the adult swim sessions? Another thing... how many of you noticed that the voice of "the jerk" who called vash and knives, in this most recent episode, "little monsters," was voiced by the man who did the voice of gene starwind in outlaw star? Well, I think it was him.

I would have to say that is a really, really hard subject to address for a very specific reason. Imo. I say that because of a well known event that throws off all american views on this... That being ww2. ww2 came at a time when america was at the lowest possible economic standing it had been in since the end of the civil war. With the europeans fighting for a period of time before the american troop involvment, there was an oppurtunity for american economic recovery due to our industrial potential. This, infact, did occur, and the american economy began a slow recovery due to our production of various supplies for the allied powers. Eventually america itself got involved and in the end, the allied powers won the war. With this winning of the war, and a war time boost in production, emphasized by an already horrible economy, the recovery and prosperity of the american economy became something of legend and inturn, created a common stereotype that all wars bring about "good times." If I was you, I would use this subject to further research the economic standings of america following all major engagments involving american troops. However, as I said a before... This is an extremly hard subject to address in the way I suggest becuase of one circumstance... "Spin" This spin is the personal political views of the author or the grading teacher. If you are an extremist in either direction, you will skew the results of this research... If your teacher is an extremist in either direction, they will grade you with a personal political grudge and not a legitimate objective eye for your writing abilities. I personally think you should get into a new thesis, because this subject is so subjective and so hard to cover that you just might end up doing yourself an injustice in the long run. I hope I have atleast given you an idea about where to go with the subject, none the less, encouragment to "tackle a less complex subject." btw, I believe that the economy of america hit another low during the mid 70's which just happens to follow the another major american conflict... The unfortunate fact is... bombs, guns, gas, ammo, tanks, planes, food, and soldiers cost money.

Does anyone know if new episodes will be airing anytime soon? Im looking forward to a conclusion with the wolf demon and kagome being kidnapped. Thanks.

But the supra is also nice... I also agree with james on the nsx thing... It is getting aged and even worse is the fact that the newest one was restyled and took on many traits of the new S2000. That made me unhappy. I also agree with james about that specific german car... its an amazing machine and by far one of the greatest cars. (regardless of price.) but in regard to price, it out classes most, if not all of the competition. BTW... This is the toyota supra...

Man, that skyline is kinda dissapointing... I loved the R34's but that new one just looks a bit too much like the new Z's. Although, that skyline is amazing looking. I would say my fav. japanese car is the nsx or the skyline... I love them both.

Well I had to "be that guy," but this isn't a sub vs dub debate and that sort of thing always leads to useless arguments that always ruin the thread and end in closure... So I just want to know from an informed member... Will they be releasing new eps. for toonami any time soon?

Well now its over... atleast for the moment. Im wondering if any of you have noticed this new development? They have started to rerun the series from the begining... Must have run out of new dubs. Oh well. Only it sucks because they started a new part of the series by doing one ep, which introduced a whole new part of the story and a new more powerful villian... They shouldnt have introduced that part of the series, and instead just started the reruns when they finished the last "mini story" in the series. (the one about the pirates and shoura) So did you guys notice?

Well it looks like we're moving to a new stage in the trigun series here on cn. The reason I say this is because of the introduction of this new charactor... Hes a nasty fella and I dont know his name unfortunatly. But with the way vash went out and said to the girls to stay behind... it became obvious that vash is on the offensive and more than likely he will be getting into some serious fights for the next week of episodes atleast.

Hands down the most important feature proposed is... to me... The banner system. That is awesome. I have banners I have made, but due to my lack of knowledge about hosting and code, I havent had a banner for the last 6 months almost. Now I can put a banner on just like the custom avatar... That is a true master piece. This is the most important thing to me without a doubt and is actually something I had asked myself about..."why didnt they try doing this"? So now you guys have put the perfect feature for me. However, the rest of the stuff is also cool. I like the idea of retro stuff and I also like the idea of close contact with the mods. I keep with the mods of the forums on a regular basis or at any time I see something on the boards worthy of mention or "modding." I personally dont think you need to worry about the sister site being more accessable... the little link at the bottom of the page works and worked fine for me. The idea of pda's and all that stuff... nah. I dont use it, but Im sure someone does... however, the amount of people using that would be a small percent in comparison to the banner option. I also think linking and affiliating with other boards is a BAD idea. The members here are mostly quality posters and there are often newbs that come around and only last for about thirty post. There are just very high standards for our board and allowing affiliations with other sites would be a great invite for people who are cheese ball idiots. Yet there is a problem... I would love to see the population of the otaku get higher to add to the diversity of people and post. So in the end I take back what I said, it is an alright idea of become affiliated with other boards... it will bring new members and as long as they can keep with our standards, I say let them in. Big point: The feature I would like to see above all others is the banner system. That system sounds like it would be great and Im gonna look for it after I post... if its not there, I will be looking forward to its implimentation. Thanks for letting us have a say Mr. James...

Alright fellas... Take note, Lady M has spoken and that is an opinion worth taking note of. I just wish I could honestly say I was enlisting... Im not though, Im a little wheenie.:D However, I also think a major thing in the "Lady M" post is the point... " I am so changeable" That is just about every girl and more importantly... it is good. That means these girls are not looking for anything in particular for all of time... they are willing to change and willing to give other things a chance... I like that. alot. I also like just about any woman who likes me... so, anyway. Just take my word for it fellas... Listen to the lady. Plus, she said humor, but not slapstick. That means maturity in our "funnyness" not just acting silly. Anyway, just take my word for it. The lady knows what a good man should be... Btw, did I mention I have blue eyes? :D

Trigun is an excellent show... I hadn't opined on the subject do to it being in a subforum, which had far less traffic, that made me assume no good converstations would lead from any posting. Now this is in the general anime forum. That being said, I think I should mention that trigun is like kenshin with more in 1 specific way. (amongst others in other peoples opinions) But the similiarity for me that is the greatest is the humor of the show. There are few animes that have as much humor in them as trigun. I just love the "big girl" of the 2 insurance girls. (think her name is milly) I also just plain out love the reactions of the charactors as well as the charactor of vash in general. This show is like kenshin in that sense... Both shows have high emotional content and high action content, but what makes me watch and record everyday, is the humor. The bottom line... I give trigun a big enthusiastic 8.5 out of 10. (since nothing is perfect, but this is close)

Jamvis, You are 8 years younger than me, but I actually have found that I am relating to you a great deal. I also, through out all of my adolescence, was considered overly talkative and "annoying" by some. I will answer your question, but I am not posting in relation to that... I am replying in response to the ideas presented in this thread. Oddly, I thought of the very same stuff many a times, but everytime, the pondering led me to nothing but depression... often times while in school. I want you to know one very important thing... it is not a matter of who or how many people cry... it is a matter of the reasons and the relationships that caused that crying. Your family... although given that they would cry for you, are far more important than any girl or boy at school or work. Your closest friends will never let you know just how much they care, but infact, they very much care more than you know. You should know that the most important thing is that you make those people and those relationships your priority in that area of your life. Have strength in your life and know that people do love and care for you. You might be suprised how many care... You never appreciate what you have until its gone... or as peter tosh said... "watcha gonna do, when the well runs dry"? If you know the song, it makes sense... if you dont, just relate it to the first point in that idea.

I like this qoute from the movie shane... "a gun is only as good or bad as the man holding it." That is just about how I feel with guns in general. Plus, I dont really have the energy to rant... So I guess you guys are lucking out on my nazi, ultra liberal rants for today. Btw, I finally got that nazi horse, but the damn thing eats constantly... so I had to sell some of my guns, but luckily I have plenty.:naughty:

I am very political at times and enough so that I even will do things like never watch certain actors movies based on their un-needed political comments. So... it would be a real shame to hear that they went political more so than I thought as I left. Of course, even when I was younger, all of the stuff could have had politics I didnt pick up on. Thanks alot... I can say for sure that I had halo 1-10, but I dont know the specifics of those... unfortunatly, over time, they all dissapeared. I dont think I have a single one right now... I just might pick up some. Thanks for the info on the nails and it really is cool to get a jog for the old memory. If you want talk about nin some more, feel free to start a thread about it and I will erase this one. trent rocks... BTW, I think the last thing I was around for in the nin era of my life was "the perfect drug" which came out after I was already "on my way out the door." That song and another with david bowie. I was really big on the nails... Infact, I went out of my way to get all of the halo albums and I dont know exactly how it worked out in the overall, but I had halo 1-10. It was cool to see that they made all of those albums... Forgive me if Im mistaken on specifics about the albums. I got away from the nails as I got older and started listening to other stuff. I just remember the albums that stuck out in my mind... and I remember how... what was it, the downward spiral/ halo 8, turned into a major hit and got mtv play... So that got me a little honked off. But most of those albums were really good... along with alot of the stuff nin did for other projects. Like the song for "the crow" sound track. That was a cool song also... Infact, I was in a bar and heard that song with the pharse "I was up above it..." I dont remember the song name or album, but I think it was halo 5. Either way, dont feel alone, I was a huge nin fan, and might still be one deep down. Oh yea, could you correct me on this stuff? I know I might be wrong and it might take some effort, but I would love to have a refresher course. Thanks.

Yes, oh my god, do I remember voltron or what... I saw this thread when it first came up and was hesitant... so I didnt respond. The just now, I got impatient and decided to search "voltron" on the net... I saw the title page of a net page and instantly went way down memory lane. I was amazed. I just couldnt believe I would forget something I loved so much with such ease. So yea, ... hell yea I remember voltron. And I thank you rick for jogging my memory. I also wanna say that voltron was my bread and butter... Its odd too, because I didnt think of voltron as anime; infact, anime wasnt in my vocabulary, nor did this stuff seem foreign. Oh well... Thanks again, its good to have those memories back... BTW, my favorite piece of the toy set was the green one... I had them all.

Ok, I was flipping through the channels and heard a the lyrics to a song... They sounded familiar, really, really, familiar. Then I noticed that the lyrics were that of a song named "dirt." (If I remember correctly. The NIN song that I knew so well all those years ago, and here was jonny cash doing a cover of it. It was quite the shock... it made me realize that reznor is as good a writer and perfomer as I thought all those years ago. It also made me think about how cool some of that music was... I also think it was really cool to see cash singing it... he did a good job and it made me happy to see it. So, have any of you seen this? Thanks.

A person of great influence who changed the face of anime permenantly after his great work came out and held high acclaim for years after... even to this date, one of his works is considered an anime classic. Almost the bread and butter of anime... Thats right... Katsuhiro Otomo Can we all say AKIRA Umm yea, that is the only name that comes to mind which hasn't been mentioned, but there are others out there. Thing is, it takes a different kind of person to look at the director of a film, and an even more different person to pay attention to, and remember the names of anime directors. So it is very possible that this thread just doesn't have the steam it should, being that directors just arent what we remember. However, I might do some research and find the names of directors who did things I love... So I might be back soon. Till then...

Well I am also "the nice guy." Only I might be a good example for you to take a note from, you see... The woman you are aiming for has alot to do with it... if your going for the shallow rich girl... there is a good chance you woulnt see anything good happen... it is true at times, nice guys do finish last. However, I was never anything besides the nice guy through out all of middle and high school. Yet, right after I got out of high school, I started getting dates. Not just plain old dates, but dates with hot girls, and I mean that. It was something else, and I will never forget this; a girl I was with said she wanted a good guy and not the same old guys from highschool. She didnt want a frat boy or a kid, she wanted an honest nice guy. So that was just one of the hints I got, which told me nice guys dont always finish last. I found out as time went on over the 2 years following highschool graduation, that there are more girls like that than you think. Eventually after dating... 4 or so girls, I found a girl that was perfect for me and a long term relationship followed. So the moral of this story is that... If you are the nice guy in highschool or where ever, keep your chin up, because you will be finishing first in the years to come. I know its hard to wait, but just you watch... you will be suprised just how level headed some of those girls become once they are out of their enclosed little world of a grade school social hier-archy. Sorry shy, but last time I brought back a thread that was more than a month old, you closed it for some reason or another... being that this one is more than a month old since the last post, and all most a month ago for the post before that one... I thought it would be good to do as you had instructed. Obviously its not a constant... but not a concern to me.
