As has been said, Ikonboard is very resource intensive. I do not advise it. I ran an Ikonboard for about 2 months, and eventually had to switch to a different software because of the amount of resources it used. Its very slow, and can be a headache. However, Ibforums (now called Invision Board), would be a much better choice. It's based on PHP and MySQL, hence much faster. I co-administrate an Ibforums board at http://www.aquatiqterrors.com (a fish enthusiast site), and have written many hacks for it at http://www.ibresource.com . The code is much easier to understand, and not as messy as Perl. Also, it is completely free. I do not recommened going with Wbb, as their 2.0 version is not going to be free (last time I checked). The user base of Ibforums is very much higher than that of Ikonboard, and it continues to grow. The writer of Ibforums just happens to be the same person who wrote Ikonboard, so you aren't going to be missing any features. Good luck with the site!

I saw the Philadelphia Experiment 1 as well as the Sequel... freaky stuff. I have to say that PE1 still is one of my favorite movies (I love that sci-fi stuff).

Nahhhh same problem here, although it seems to be better. It looks as if their hosts' mysql server went down as well for a brief period of time... haha, each time someone viewed that page where it says 'Technical Difficulties' etc.. it sends an email to adam ;) I bet he has about 2000-3000 new mail ;)

Well I've understood his message every time--like you said--everyone understands. So the soul reason people do it is to poke fun at the leader of a nation? Would they do it if he was to be any other person? It wouldn't be as rough, I do believe, but depending on the person it would happen. One of the unfortunate things with a modified-free-society is how the change of power affects everyone. Thank the Lord it hasn't gotten violent. One question, with the nature of discussion in mind--if you had to decide how to fix it... how would you approach the situation of ridicule such as this towards bush which (in some people's opinions) does not belong? Hypothetically speaking of course?
-
Yeah, but you can't take Bush's comments and perceive them the way you did...and expect that people won't laugh at you.
Yea, I figured that would happen.. he isn't that smartest one, I believe that already, but I thought it was kinda fun being able to refute all but two of those statements with simple, possible, (however unlikely it may be) explanations.. I mean, you gotta admit.. some of those make some sense.
-
See, its all a matter of perception. If you want to think a certain way, you will. This guy is screwed from the start, as most everyone I speak too thinks the same way about him. A man does not sit on his butt all day and eat candy corn and become the president of the United States. Bust worked hard, and I support him for that.. PS, oh, and why was that stupid, I was just pointing out another perception ;)
-
It is titled
... This is commonly or has been used by everyone. So if you call him stupid because of this statement, you must call yourself stupid.
"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country."
Actually, they do... if you can prove otherwise, I'd like to know.
If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."
Well, we could either succed, fail, or neither.. so the problem is?
"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'."
One word, prepared.
"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."
Look up the word 'in'. Research its connotation and this will make sense. This word does not have just one meaning, as is true for many words in the English language. In this tense, he is 'ensuring' a good future. I'm not sure if you have the capability of understanding that or not.
"The future will be better tomorrow."
Yes, because it can't be better today or yesterday.
"We're going to have the best educated American people in the world."
Most definitly.. We have the most American people (there are some abroad), and out of those, (in all probable likeliness) the greatest few will most likely exist.
"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."
Good for him.
"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe."
We are a part of europe. There IS american soil in europe. (Ambassador places, military places). Also, we have a good deal to say about political decisions in iraq.. etc..
"Public speaking is very easy."
Yea, I think so too Mr. Bush.
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
Obviously, what else could it be?
"We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur."
An event may or may not occur. For instance, I may goto the store, or I may not. The event of where I am at a specific moment in time will always exist. Whether that event is going to or not going to the store is unforeseen.
"For NASA, space is still a high priority."
www.nasa.gov, all the way at the bottom, on the left.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Navigating NASA's Strategic Enterprises Aerospace Technology Biological and Physical Research Earth Science ...
(to name a few)
"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children."
I cannot refute the grammar of 'teachers'. However, his statement is an opinion. I don't personally believe it, but it IS an opinion.
"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."
Very true. Pollution causes impurities in the air and water. The impurities in turn harm the environment. http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=Pollution .. , read the top three definitions out of the four. "It's time for the human race to enter the solar system." This is a obviously a mistake on his part. 'enter' should be 'traverse'.
Packies is a Racist word?
I don't believe it is a racist word either. I've never even heard this term before.. Urdu is spoken in Pakistan. Are they even called the 'Pakistan' people in Pakistan? Hmm.. only had trouble with two of those...... must mean something. For a person to ridicule a person's grammar because he represents the opposing party represents a bit of emotional insanity and selfish ambition. This sort of chain mail represents this attitude. Be wise, be smart, and be knowledgeable on topics regarding political events. Before you comment on the world of politics, you should heed this advice.

I've seen that ;) Theres also another one.... Fight 1 ;)

It also states in one of the news things for the 14th that they are "not dead" EDIT: ok... now the site won't load at all. Darn. :smirk:

SuperSayian The Achive "bot" crawls the web every couple of days (maybe every couple of hours) and basically searches every domain in the domain index in the internets root servers. You do not have to submit your site. It is automatically there. It is based off of an array of computers that already have 100+ Terabytes of archive data. It is interesting, for instance... say you wanted to see what microsoft.com or 3dfx.com used to look like... ;)
