Wow.. hey! I do remember you; Digimon gives it away! ;] Good times. (I don't think I'll trouble anyone to change the name.. t's just a name and a little nostalgic. Bwa.) Yup, you are indeed seeing a fish at the bottom and a butterfly wing at the top. There's also another butterfly wing at the bottom, but it's a negative of the one at the top... a little harder to draw. I've always appreciated hand drawn stuff because it's so much more FUN to do then CGing.. I enjoy using Photoshop too, but I always end up making it look worse and people remind me that it looked better before I "enhanced" it. Heheh. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it! ^^ EDIT: New additions! First attachment is a pen+ink of Haruno Sakura from Naruto. (I plan to make this one prettier with pen and pencil value, but this is the basis for attachment 2.) Second Attachment is my CG version. Haven't used Photoshop (7.0) is this manner in a long time, and by doing so I'm going against the fact that I already know it's not improving the pen+ink. But anyways.. Comments are beautiful! =] Welcome back to OB. Keep in mind that we do not allow double posting, so remember to use the Edit button. -Syk3

I always like to see enhanced backgrouds that use a color scheme that coordinates with the subject/s. However, it does not look horrible. =] Adjusting the RGB levels of the backgroud layer, if you haven't flattened the image, may or may not change the hue of it... I honestly don't remember. In agreement with F-Bomb, I also believe the focus is a little off... you should do more to bring the attention to that character, my eyes were drawn towards the background right off.

Mmm.. Ma Ma Mars! Brings back some old school memories. I love manga so much because it started out for me not just as a hobby but as a strong friendship bond between one of my best pals and I. We still sit on the floor of Border's Books (not B&N because they suck) and read to our hearts' contents... don't worry, I've bought 'a plenty. Anywho, back to Mars. Yes, most definitely one of my favorite series to date. Typical shoujo in that it's chock full of emo, but a-typical in that it's quite dark at times and has a masculine aspect... uber hot Japanese bike racing. Oh, and have I forgot to mention how hot bike racing is? Shame on me. It's one of my favorite shoujo/shounen hybrid mangas, and very -real-. I wouldn't say to anyone that the Gaiden, "Horse With No Name" isn't worth reading. I won't go into detail to avoid spoiling it for anyone who's yet to read it, but in my opinion, more about the characters' pasts is much more interesting than peeking into their futures. If the manga-ka were to do this, I know it wouldn't sit well with me simply because it probably wouldn't feel long or detailed enough. Isn't this the main problem with most anime sequels/OAV's? Anyway, that's my dribble.

I've recently ressurected my age-old account here and think the art specific forum is nice. First attachment is a finished product; Line Assignment for Design class in college. (5 hours- drawn and inked.) I figured the anime/manga fans of this board would appreciate some aspects of this inked collage. ^^ Second attachment is a little bit of Naruto fanart; Chuunin Shikamaru, my personal favourite character. Yay for the super lazy genius! Heheh.. (1 hour- drawn and inked) Mmm.. If I have anymore doodles and such, I'll post them in this thread. I think that's possible... :9
Originally posted by Mnemolth Okay folks, the most common response seems to be what kind of loser would write all that? ;)
I used to enjoy typing lengthened posts steeped in my own opinions, then I realized people just don't care. Think about it; they'd rather use their time by posting their own opinions about how your post was too long, rather than just reading what you wrote. Here I'm doing it again...
Originally posted by Jabroni3:16 311 is a really good band just to chill out to... i can pop in one of their CDs and just fall into a relaxing mood.
Sublime does a better job at that. 311's older music is better. Their new song, whatever it's called [EDIT: Amber], makes me sick; it's so fruity and the music video looks too much like one of LFO's.

I've tried water skiing once, and I probably won't again... My mom had told me that my dad was rather good at it, so when I went to my friend's lake house, I figured I'd give it a shot (to see if he'd passed down any of the family's good water skiing genes. :drunk: ) Let's just say that he didn't. The boat that they decided to pull me with was a jet powered SeaDoo; it took off like a shot, and drug me through the water like normal for a while... My legs were so wobbly that finally the tips of my skis went under the water, and I did somesort of front flip. My friend said that my wipeout was really funny to watch, but all I remember is climbing on the boat feeling as if I'd had 5 alcohol enemas.... (not pleasant.) lol
Originally posted by BabyGirl I ask thee womenly folk, why IS it so bad for a woman to let a man pleasure her, but not bad for a guy to GET pleasured?
... Because men are more or less stupid, and no one expects any better from them, so they get away with it... it's due to natural, sexual impulses. The same impulses that women have, but are expected to be repressed... causing some sort of hideous Freudian nightmare somewhere down the road. :freak:
Originally posted by BabyGirl how else would sluts get the name sluts?
There's a big difference between girls that dress sexy or provocative, and those that are sluts. Last time I checked (and I do so often  ), there aren't a lot of young girls that get payed for having sex. In my opinion, any girl that still goes to middle or high school shouldn't be called a slut, period... perhaps it's just me, for taking the meaning of the word rather literally. -
Ah... The Osbournes... great stuff. They curse like mad, and those kids get away with murder! Does anyone know if they ever found their dog? The little black one that looked like a Pomeranian ran away, but I personally think someone stole it for ransom... lol

(my answers are in bold.) 1) Do you feel more comfortable... a) in the crowd b) in the outer edges of a crowd c) away from the crowd on the back wall 2) If you could be one of any of these three jobs, which and why? a) fireman: I'd be a fireman because it's relatively safe. I do not fear fire. Police men get shot in the head because they're assholes, and planes drop out of the sky like flies which is bad for pilots. b) policeman c) airplane pilot 3) What size shoe do you wear? women's 5 or 6 4) (Ah I can't think of anymore) What happens at the end of Monty Python & The Holy Grail? (God Bless them all.) Not sure.... maybe it's that tired guy that opens and closes all of the episodes in Monty Python's Flying Circus. *GASP* "It's... !!"

Stekr Funor...... nice. My Jedi name sounds more like one that would be used to name a lame character on the sidelines..... some horribly disfigured alien, speaking gibberish. *eep opp org ah ah* Translation= "My name is Stekr Funor, and that means I love you."

I like both styles of music, but techno is a little more upbeat. If you want to throw yourself into a better mood, which I have to do a lot, techno (with lyrics) works better. Trance is cool when you just want to chill, but poorly mixed trance can get really, really annoying, really fast. [there's nothing worse than an hour-long 'thumper', okay?] personally, I prefer songs that start out as slow trance, speed up to fast techno, then slow down again.... proper transition is the key. :toothy: Hee hee... insincere smiley...

I believe an appropriate age is whenever the kid is old and mature enough, not to run away screaming... "Ahhh.... SEX? COOTIES!!!" I knew all about sex, masturbation, and STD's before the sixth grade. No one ever told me about it; I suppose they were going to wait... To this day, my mother is still amazed by my extensize knowledge of everything sex. ... and I'm surprised by the stuff she knows! Good lord... my mom is freaky-deaky. :p

Me and my friend had to endure 2 hours of Disney during one of our classes. We're in 11th grade, and our teacher leaves The Lion King with the substitute. Sure, the movie was great when I was in fifth grade. Anywho... Remember when Simba had yelled at Nala, and run away? ..and after that, he flopped down into the tall grass at the end of a ledge... ... and a cloud of dust and grass particles flew up into the air. WELL.... if you put the tape (or DVD -_-) into slow motion... you'll see that the dust stuff spells S.E.X. Almost perfectly. We got a good laugh from this. Heh Heh.... I also noticed that penis on The Little Mermaid box awhile ago... heh heh. *Here's something weird to ponder... Disney is supposed to make movies for children... So why, in every single animated movie, does someone die?*

Redwall is one of my favorite series' of books. I've read Redwall, The Outcast of Redwall, Pearls of Lutra, and uhh... if there's another, I've forgotten. Heh... I just recently saw the Redwall series on T.V. I never knew there was one, until I decided to watch early morning television... I think WAMI was playing it, at like... 7am... o.O' Anywho... the books are great. For Flying Panda: The Redwall series basically revolves around the Abbey of Redwall (like a huge community of small animals.) Every book in the series has some new adventure... usually involving your typical shady figure and your typical hero/heroine/clan of heros... all trying to either attack the Abbey, or save it. The books in the series DO go in chronological order... something I didn't realize at first.... *dysfunctional* (( so read Redwall FIRST )) Redwall the book is based on Matthais(sp?) the mouse's search for his identity, and the sword of Martin. He eventually has to help save the Abbey when it's attacked by a crazy rat, who's name is evading me at the moment. Hope some of that made sense. :)

I'm a good girl in high school. I'm too introverted to get myself into heaps of trouble. However, when I use to ride the school bus everyday, I was a terror to say the least. I was sent to the principle's office every other day, having to explain the bus refferals that where being issued to my record. What can I say? It's was fun to throw things at drivers and hold up signs that said, "Honk if you're hard / Honk if you're horny". :toothy: (An hour and a half long ride can be very, very boring.)

I don't wear them all the time, but I really should... my eyesight's pretty darn bad. :drunk: People say that when I wear my glasses, I resemble an innocent yet sexy librarian, with a hidden alter-ego that's seriously kinky. Well, in Angelfire... you can either choose to edit your pages with the Basic Editor or the Advanced Editor. The Basic Editor is pretty much self explanitory... they give you directions for everything, right on the editing page. However, the Advanced Editor is just a plain, empty template for you to design. If you know absolutely nothing about HTML, CSS, or Java codes/scripts... use the Basic Editor. It's plain and simple, and color choosing is easier. All of the links to free domain servers (like Angelfire), that people have linked in their posts are just fine. BUT... would you like your web site/page to be cost and pop-up/ad-banner free?! If so... sign up for the General Package, here ~~> Brinkster.com No charge; no ads. Can't beat that with a stick.

Everyone's Clouded Vision of Life....
*GaLxY-GiRl* replied to Queen Asuka's topic in General Discussion
Trying to fit in with a certain type of people is unrealistic... any way you look at it. 'Cool' is relative; what one person thinks is cool, another person thinks is dumb. You can't please everyone... and there's really no point in trying. Say you meet a guy that you think is cute... hypothetically speaking, he believes smoking dope is 'cool', so you smoke some to appease him. Then, all of a sudden... an even hotter guy walks by, and sees you smoking weed. He thinks it's way gross, and you've royally screwed yourself out of chance with a Grade-A male. Be yourself and others will follow suit... they'll think you're 'cool' for it, and happy-ever-after, right? Yeah... whatever. Also... where do some of these fools get off by saying alcohol makes them happy?? If you've ever heard this from someone, they were lying through their teeth and knew it. Last time I checked, alcohol is a drug, and a depressant at that! Get real... Oh and uhh... I'm 17, and yes I've drank before... I've gotten sh!t faced and I'm not going to lie. But you know what? Even though it had some pretty cool immediate effects... I soon realized what a depressant could do to a tender teenager struggling with authority and school work. Suicide's real, and so are threats. Think you have problems? I bet you do. Do some drugs and see them get 1,000 times worse. That's a promise. *Sigh* I've gotten way off of the topic. As for what goes through the people's minds that think drugs are cool..... who knows. Like I mentioned before, 'cool' is relative. I have absolutely NO right in this divinely mad world, to declare drugs are uncool. I do, on the other hand, have a right to opinionate them as totally uncool. Don't fight the system! It works with 'ya in times like this! Gotta love the first Amendment! :excited: -
Originally posted by Sephiroth Ghost in the Shell is good, but I do not think it is as good as many fans say it is, its too overrated....
Hmm... It might very well be overrated. I've never really heard any type of hype about it, so I thought I'd go out on a limb, and see the movie for myself. It's just one of those movies that makes you think... a lot, and I love that. It brought up really philosophical ideas, like what truly seperates human thought from AI... and what if a computer could self-actualize. Movies that make 'ya think and ponder *two enthusiastic thumbs up* !

I finally got a chance to rent Ghost in the Shell on DVD... and I was thoroughly pleased! It's was a perfect anime flick, in my opinion.... awesome cell work, beautiful animation, and lots' o sci-fi action! Has anyone else seen this movie? If so... I'd love to see what y'all thought about it. :) [ PS: If this is a repeat topic, sorry. I didn't see a similiar thread when I checked the current forum page. ]

What do you find so mindboggling about the opposite sex?
*GaLxY-GiRl* replied to Ryan's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Vegitto4 ok, you are the first girl that has said its fair that guys get called pimps, and girls get called sluts, or hos. Thats interesting......:genius:
Since I'm not a slut, I view it this way - It's flattering in my opinion, for others to expect more from a girl. They believe she should be more than a slut. More importantly, they believe she can be more than a slut. On the other hand... most people give up on guys, simply labeling them 'pimps'. Perhaps society does not believe most men can be anything other than 'pimps' or 'dogs'. Perhaps men just don't have the capability to rise past their immaturity (that is, dating more than one female at a time)... yes... perhaps. - My opinions are out-of-whack... and only represent those who they represent! -
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! I believe taking academic courses is important when you're in graduate school... but they shouldn't be difficult enough, or require too much 'project time', to effect how well you perform in your art classes... or whatever major you're striving for. Now see here, gentle people..... I'm only in 11th grade, so I don't know a great deal about college (I should, I know... but hey, it's hard to accept the fact that in a year... I'll be bordering on 'big bad adult'. :( ) Umm yeah. So.. I feel the USA way is OK..... as long as the academic courses are on a regular level, rather than honors...... or whatever. :cross:
