For English class we currently have an assignment where we must choose to write a myth, parable or a fable. I chose a parable, as it seemed the most interesting to me. We read one in class and it's meaning was odd, our English teacher couldn't understand it either. Anyhow, this is my attempt at a parable. This is going towards the definition of Parable we were given. The lesson or theme of the story is that even if you go from loneliness and emptiness to a feeling of purpose, you can be put back in the situation you were in even if the person putting you back there is yourself. I'd be glad to see what you all think of this, I personally liked it rather well. --------------------------------- There was once a white room, absent from it?s plain linoleum were the marks of furnishings. There were no windows, no doors and no ceiling. The room didn?t make noise in the night, as there was no night or day to grace the room. Alone in the center of the white room was a man, dressed in all white, his face pale and his hair gray. He understood nothing, not even his loneliness. He didn?t worry about anything, as he had nothing to care for. The man walked around the room aimlessly, stopping only to rest and contemplate his seemingly meaningless existence. The man had no signs of any happiness, yet showed no struggle against himself that led to any sorrow or agony. Rarely would he sit, even if he was too tired to stand he remained straight. However, when he did sit, he sat for days. He didn?t eat, he didn?t sleep and he didn?t breath. It was odd that he could live this way so calmly, surely the anonymity of the room around him would drive him crazy. Yet, it did not as he wasn?t bothered by anything. One day, as the man turned twenty-five, a window opened in the middle of the room. No breeze rolled in, and nothing entered the room that was unwanted. For days the window began to bother the man, he began to think about it?s purpose. Eventually he sat in front of the window and gazed out, intent set to find it?s purpose in his empty white room. Outside the window was nothing but a light blue color, with random white blobs moving by. ?What does this mean?? The man said, his first words ever to be muttered, and the first words to ever be said in the white room. Suddenly, he heard a loud crack behind him, the sound emanating to every corner of the room. A new feeling, surprise, overcame him and he shot up and turned behind him. He let out a curse as he turned around, which was followed by another crack to his right. He turned to his right too, yet this time said nothing. He rushed over to the crack, thus marking his first hasty movement. The crack ran up the wall and stopped at the ceiling. The crack was straight, not zigzag in any way. It showed no harm, so the man shrugged it off and went back to the window. As he walked over he noticed a dark spot on the ground that moved fluidly. As he looked back at the window he noticed too lace sheets moving around. Soon, he felt a breeze flow into the room from the window. He walked cautiously to the window. When he arrived, he felt nothing but a calming and gentle breeze slide by his body. As time went by and a few months came and went, the room began to change. Three wooden chairs appeared in the room, and even a few stands as well as a bed. The man began to feel different things he never felt. One day he even felt tired and decided to sleep on the bed. He felt the most comforting feeling ever laying on the bed. Soon he felt loneliness. It scared him how he had no one around him to confide in. The man was beginning to enter insanity?s threshold when he turned thirty. Now, the walls were wooden and the ceiling remained white. There were a few more windows around the room, and a tree branch extended into the room from the first window that had appeared when he was twenty-five. The tree was full of fruits like apples, bananas and oranges, even fruits like grapes and cherry?s were available from the tree. The man was now eating for the first time, another thing that felt odd at first, but became comfortable. The loneliness, however, remained a curse. The man often cried in one of his chairs. He wanted someone, or something, to relieve his sorrows. The saying ?time heals all wounds? came to his mind from nowhere, but he didn?t question it. He wallowed in his despair for three more years. The floor was now hardwood, and cold beneath his feet. The man was losing more of his sanity, and eventually couldn?t take anymore loneliness. It was the turn of his 34th year when he lost it. He ran to the crack in the back of the room that was made from him uttering his first words. He punched the crack, only to break his hands. It was the first time he felt physical pain. He didn?t holler, he only kicked the crack in return. When he felt no pain from this, he continued to hit the crack. Finally, after hours of pointless kicking, the wall shattered. He stepped back, shocked by the sound of the wall turning into glass as it came in contact with the ground. After it settled, and the man returned to his state of anger. The wall that had fallen even began to reassemble itself. When it finally was rebuilt, there was a door in place of the large crack. The door was eight feet tall, two feet taller than the man. It had no windows, but a golden doorknob. The man put his hand on the doorknob, he knew now what he could do. As his hand came into contact with the golden handle, his head shook and he heaved, his body trembling. When the man came out of his shaking fit his life came into his mind. He had a home, he had people, and he had a world to live in. He opened the door with a smile on his face. ?I?m going home!? He reveled as he opened the door. ?And I can remember my name!? He shouted as the door reached the side of the man. ?It?s?? The man stopped, his mouth dropping wide open. He felt a sharp pain in his chest, an unbearable pain. In a few seconds he slumped over, dead, stabbed by a kitchen knife. In front of the door stood the man, holding a knife over his own lifeless body. He wasn?t smiling, nor was he showing any remorse. He just stepped over his dead clone and walked into the room. Everything in the room faded, even the body that lay at the door. His clothes turned white and his memories and experiences disappeared into the abyss of amnesia. Everything was now as it was thirty-four years before. The room became white. There were no windows, no doors and no ceiling. The room didn?t make noise in the night, as there was no night or day to grace the room. Alone, walking towards the center of the room was a man dressed in all white, his face pale and his hair gray. He understood nothing, not even his loneliness. He didn?t worry about anything, as he had nothing to care for. Now, he lived in anonymity once more.

I'm going to a relative's In-Law's for Thanksgiving dinner. Holidays aren't big in my family, the last get together was at my house after my Nana's funeral. My grandfather died a few years ago, and since his wife is a heartless being of suffereing and oppresion, we don't have holiday dinner over there. I personally hate the holidays, always have. But I do miss those times, at least I saw my family. Now the only time I get to see my family is at random birthday parties. Well, my aunt from Arkansas is coming up for a few weeks. So most likely my mother will be frantic for a get together.

Right now I'm listening to The Sound of Animals Fighting. Earlier I was listenign to Horses in the Sky from Lover, The Lord has Left Us, a song on my computer I have yet to listen to. Hearing Craig Owens from Chiodos was enough to make me listen to it, and it was an amazing song. But as for now, I'm listening to Act I: Chasing Suns from Tiger & The Duke. I think I'll take a stroll down the road with Fair to Midland. They have a new song on their MySpace which I need to listen to again. They're a weird, yet deep band, so I can't wait to see what 2010 brings us. I'm also in the mood some good ol' Between the Buried and Me, as usual.

When I was young I used to think women were too pure to go #2. When I was young used to think we were all immortal and didn't die, then when I found out we die I cried for hours. A few years ago I told myself I'd always be straight... things can change awfully fast. When I was young I thought cartoons were real things, I don't know why but I did.

I went to a Hardcore Show today in the next town over. It was the best ever. I almost got smushed by some fat guy in the pit, but I was so adrenaline pumped I didn't care. There was a band there called Surrounded by Teeth and they were the most brutal band to grace our area. I mean really, the were just raping everything. The guitarist swung his guitar around his neck and they were jumping off their amps. They were like Fear Beore the March of Flames, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria and like... Job for a Cowboy. At the next show I might actually get in the pit more, it's fun as hell. As for now, I'm listening to Fade to Black by Metallica. Earlier I was listening to Asking Alexandria. They are amazing...

I'm im in a little band called Unresolved Conflict with a few of my friends. In all honestly, it won't get to far, but we are serious enough to go somewhere. I'm mostly using it as a vessel to get myself out there and get myself some band experience. We're not doing bad so far, which is god, but we won't be playing shows for long. In fact, it will take us longer than my friend, the guitarist, thinks it will. But, I'm having a good time so far. I've got a few songs writen myself, so I hope to get to one of those within a few weeks. We're a hardcore/screamo band, so naturally, I dig that. I just need to get a little better at the bass guitar before w actually do a show. And Zen, your lucky, I really wish I could do the harsh vocals haha

I'm currently listening to Protest the Hero's Sequoia Throne, which is an amazing song by a surprisingly amazing band! Next up by them is Bone Marror and Spoils! Sooner or later I'll be listening to Between the Buried and Me. Mainly, their newest CD The Great Misdirect. It is a truly amazing CD, but I haven't soaked it all in really. And then I'll probably listen to In Fear and Faith, I've had a buttload of their songs but have only listened to 4, The End, Strength in Numbers, Your World on Fire and the Taste of Regret. Im in a strict hardcore mood now... earlier I was listening to Fireflies by Owl City. I tried my best to fight the song, but... I love it. I'm either sick, or it's actually a good song.

Three Days Grace: Life Starts Now...who likes it?
Jabberwocky replied to Miko Hayashi's topic in Noosphere
Thread Title Three Days Grace: Life Starts Now... who likes it? My Answer Fans of Disturbed and other bad music. Three Days Grace = Doo Doo Metal/Hard Rock.
I like Three Days Grace... except for this new CD. It blows. I think they lost their shine when One-X was over at the end of it's CD. The only thing I think should 'break' is the CD and it's case with one swoop of a kajudo chop! -
I downloaded Suicide Season Cut-Up two days ago and forgot to tell you that its freaking god damn amazing. DL it immediately.
Next time I have band practice, I will. Now, I recently downloaded The Great Misdirect... No words.

Haha, weirdos are weird! Anyways I've ran into a few. There's this one kid in my class who's weird as hell. Since I came out in 8th grade he always says "What's up" to me. Its kind of weird because he's never made fun of me, just said what's up at awkward times. Well, one day I got breakfast downstairs before 1st period English. Well when I'm done eating my large ammount of toast (our school's toast is amazing, buttery and well... amazing) I threw my tray away. Well, I didn't eat ALL of the toast, there was some crust left. Well anyways, this kid goes "Did you like your breakfast?" Well, I said yes... then he said "You didn't eat your crust." So, he apparantly didn't pay attetion to his work, he watched me eat toast... So I said "That's weird you watched me eat?" Anyways, he kept denying it. My best friend thinks he has a guy crush on me, and I kind of agree. Well, at least he's not bad looking, he's actually got a nice body. Then, there's my distant cousin. He's just... to put it in lamens terms... gay. He's always doing awkward things to me, and one time he even grabbed my hand and put it on his crotch. Now, you might think he's kidding. But when he laughed at it and said not to tell anyone... I got creeped out. I came out to him too and he didn't show any hate. Well, apparantly he's forgotten about because when I see him and we go to his room, he wants to wrestle with me. Either I'm taking thing's waaaaaay too seriously... or my cousin's out for me. Thank god we're not blood related. :animesigh
You're going to be very pleased when you hear the whole thing. I was :]
That sounds EXTREMELLY promising. The thought just crossed my mind, I'm also highly anticipatin Fair to Midlands 2010 release. They had a little trailer for the new CD on their Myspace and it was creepy as hell. The music sounds like its going to be a new heavy for FTM, even though they've already been there.
Coheed and Cambria covered mothafu**in' Trooper?! Getting it. Same goes for Between The Buried And Me, of course. I'm so glad I've come unto some money recently.
Haha, yeah. But hey, at FYE the DVD set was under 25 dollars. Thats good for it being 2 live DVD's of all their CD's in completion. So not only would you get to see their Trooper cover, you'd ge to see every one of their songs. haha Obfuscation, BTBAM's new single, was on a few days ago on XM radio and it was effing brilliant. At midnight tonight it will only be 4 days until the CD's release... It's killing me, really.

Two words... Gojira issex. And two more words... BringmetheHorizon issex. Anyways, I can't wait for the re-release of Suicide Season, it's an amazing CD and an amazing piece of art from an awesome band. But, before that, I have to get the new Between the Buried and Me album. I just heard Obfuscation today, and I'm DYING for the album to be released! Obfusction was just... orgazm. But, as for things I DOOO have, the Coheed and Cambria, Neverender set is my wet dream. The whole thing is amazing! It's every song by them, LIVE on DVD! It's amazing. And they also did a good job covering The Trooper by Iron Maiden.

Everbody who loves my kind of music should listen to Asking Alexandria. Honestly, they are amazing, they rock my socks. They have a CD out calld Stand and Scream, and it has some pretty brutal tracks. Like for instance, If You Can't Ride Two Horses at Once, You Should get out of The Circus, and my personal favorite I Used to Have a Best Friend (But he Gave me and STD) The band is like, Bring me the Horizon and the Devil Wears Prada with the addition of more synth. They are described as Trancecore, but despite the dumb genre title, they are awesome. It's probably blasphemy to say this, but their lead singer, in a way, kicks Oli's ***. Just saying! Oh and I'm now in love with In Fear and Faith, Chiodos and Circa Survive. My favorite song by Chiodos is The Undertaker's Thirst for Revenge is Unquenchable. And my favorite song by In Fear and Faith so far is The Taste of Regret. Also, check out The Rise of Science, it's like Coheed and Cambria, but more post-hardcore. They hail from Atlanta Georgia and played a show here in Norwood NY (Yeah haha). It's a shame though, I missed them play at the show we had there >.>

I don't like Taylor's music, but I do like how she has pop and country versions of her singles, I don't like both genres much, but thats a good way to market herself. But, she got an award and Kanye is a bastard who deserves to be locked away. And high five to Beyonce for being cool to her. As for Obama, epic win my man... epic win.

Well I am currently reading my schedule for my 10th grade year. I have a couple classes with one of my friends, but the whole thing looks boring. Thankfully I have music theory 2nd period, and I know I'll enjoy that class. As for school itself, I'm ready to go. As I've gotten older I've noticed school isn't that bad, and after a while Summer Vacation gets a bit too monotonous. So anyways, is anyone else ready for school? Or are there some of you who'd rather still have vacation?
