I do over-think everything.

So far, the New York Times has looked upon it as a horrible movie.

:toothy: Last year, and bunch of my friends and I dressed up as the monks from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It was very cool, indeed. I even completed the whole sha-bang with the chants and cardboard planks. We got numerous compliments from people who recognized us. ^_^ I have no idea of what I'm going to be this year. My friend and I were talking about dressing up as anime characters who fight with big weapons, solely for fact that we can construct large weapons and play around with them.

What are you TALKING about?! Pokemon is the greatest video game achievment ever. I don't think I've seen a more wide-spread obsession take over the United States. It reeled in millions of dollars, and that's the whole point. ^_~ Anyways, I dislike FFVIII. Every video-game obsesee I know goes on and on about the greatness of the game, I really don't see the appeal. Obviously, the whole FF series is way overrated, but I don't get why everyone talks of how great FFVIII is. Same as FFVII....The real thing that made me love the game was the storyline, not the action. Enter the Matrix is just a big piece of advertising overrating-ness and ....stuff. I never though Majora's Mask was overrated. I really enjoyed the game almost as much as Ocarica of Time, and it's probably one of my favorite games. Many people ranked it lower because of the continuous repeats of activities because of the whole 3-day limit, but I guess they're taking the whole point of that the wrong way. Well, you know, I've never read any article about Majora's Mask before.

The very first video game I played was Mario Kart on the N64. I never really enjoyed the game, but I started playing Mario 64 and I thouroughly enjoyed. ^_~ I was pretty dang excited when I picked up a Zelda game for the first time: Ocarina of Time. It took me a while to getting used to the way jumping was programmed into the game. I kept on expecting Link to jump when I pressed a certain button. I went back and played the original Zeldas at my cousin's house, and Zelda is still my favorite video game series to this day. I haven't played many video games, really, and I only have a N64. But I've tried out the Final Fantasy series, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Soul Calibur 2 at one point. I'm sticking with my ole' N64, though. I swear...I will never throw it away. :p

Exactly why I think this thread is getting a bit pointless.

God, there were some people who killed some soccer players because they lost a game. You guys remind me of them. Don't take an action such as raping as just a joke. I have no idea why people can take a game so seriously. There's always the next World Series. It's not like the world is going to blow up and we're all going to die because the Yankees are going to World series again. If you haven't realized it, if any other baseball team had as much money, they'd be buying there way into games and talented players. It's not like everyone else is goody-goody and innocent.

Actually, one storyline that would really help a manga rise in the ranks is historical fiction. It's an excellent topic to explore and make a storyline out of. And yes, religion should be a good factor as well. In the first contest, one of the winner's [or runner-up's] storyline focused around religion.

A girl at an academic camp suggested cannibalism to solve the population problem. It's ironic to have an over-population problem when you look at the number of people who die each year.

Dude, the way the Red Sox srewed up ...they screwed up big time. Don't take your anger out on me. :toothy: [you spelt Marlins correctly] I don't hate the Red Sox either, I just happen to like Yankees better. *sticks tongue out*

This is a bit pointless in a thread where you're supposed to tell everyone bands and songs you're embarrassed to like, but I see no point in being embarrassed. I really dislike anyone who thinks one genre of music 'sucks' just because it doesn't suit their tastes. Music itself is a huge element with thousands of branch-offs and evolutions..... Anyways, I think it's stupid when your friends make fun of you because you like a certain song. OMG that song isn't rap yur a lozer. *rolls eyes* I have many music genres that don't suit my tastes, but I will never say it 'sucks' or anything along the lines of that. [If I did before, then I'm sorry]. SO I do not care whether people think it's odd for me to like certain types of music. You shouldn't be, really.

Its getting on my nerves hearing all this crap about how Red Sox lost.. Haha Its a great Americain sport alright. GO Yankees! ^^
*high fives* All right! Someone who likes the Yankees! ^__^ And they WILL go on to beat the Marlins. ^_~ It seems the majority of the OB members hate the Yankees for reasons unknown [pwahaha], but.....*smacks everyone who hates Yankees* Like the Red Sox didn't didn't buy thir way into winning sometimes...it's inevitable. *rolls eyes* ANYWHO, I'm wearing a huge New York Yankees sweater right now. Sure is cold down here in Georgia...

When I'm writing an essay for the first time that's due tomorrow. ^_~ No, seriously. But in terms of my own stories, I usually write better in the night when I'm alone listening to orchestral music.

Originally posted by Magdalena Why did you use Chiller for a font?
You know, maybe because it's talking about world domination. Get the point? Anyways, nice banner. I thought it was pretty funny, even though I think Arnold will be a decent governer.

Ninja-Magus: Yes, many of my online friends decided to enter the contest. I met them off of Deviant art and their awesome artwork. ^_^ There is some forum about the contest, where contestors sometimes post their stuff and get advice. I forgot where, though. If you look around Tokyopop.com, you'll find it.

Party-pooper. *looks around* They'll win...Pwahahaha..... O_O *shrugs* I've seen some incredible games where one team manages to beat the other in the last moments.

NEW YORK YANKEES! :toothy: Well, first I rooted for the Braves since I'm from Georgia, then the Cubs since I know tons of people in Chicago and I don't like Florida, and now the New York Yankees I've always liked them. ^_^ I hope the get into the world series.

For the people that watch cartoon network before Tonami(sp?).
eleanor replied to Ryoko T.D.C.'s topic in Noosphere
You know what? I'd rather watch two episode of Hamtaro than watch Totally Spies again. And that's saying a lot. I have nothing against cartoons borrowing from Asian animation elements, but Totally Spies just screwed up big time. The plots are always boring and I just can't stand it for some reason. I hope it gets taken off air. -

Student Council (be prepared for major ranting ^^)
eleanor replied to Katana's topic in General Discussion
Well, in my school, Student Council should be re-named as Teacher-Controlling-Students-to-Obey-Every-Whim. Student Council has absolutely NO power at my middle school. The only group that can really do anything is Jr. Beta, which is a club for nerds who think learning is fun and which is the club I'm a member of. :toothy: I was hoping that when I reach Senior year in high school, people would pick presidents according to their standards. *faints* -

Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud At the time in Salem, religion was a way of life for people, they ate, drank and breathed the church. When people are dedicated to a cause it can become blinding, especially when a charismatic individual or group of individuals is organizing a group against a member of society that is considiered a bit of an eccentric...
So in turn they called any idiosyncrasy a factor of one being a witch. I did read a letter sent from a girl in Mass. state to her father in England about some girl who made these rich kids' jaws open up to the point where it seemed anatomically impossible and kept it like that for days. *shrugs* I really don't believe in the whole witch thing, though. It was pointless and cruel. The only book I've ever read that had something to do with the Salem Witch Trials was Floor 13 and The Witch of Blackbird Pond, both of which I did not enjoy. Anyway, I did a social studies project on the Salem Witch Trials once, and it didn't really interest me that much. Just a bit.

Keep in mind that not only is the artwork an important factor, but the storyline as well. Do you have any idea how hard it is for some people to draw a manga with an original and good plot and make it so that it meets the contest's requirements? And I am most impressed by several of the winners' drawings. Don't be disappointed in the winners. Their stories and drawings must have been good enough for the judges. I've seen tons of mangas that were entered in the contest, and had amazing art. And why didn't they win? Because their storylines were not laid out and good enough when compared to the winners. You also have to take into consideration the genre, drawing techniques, styles, spacing, dialogue, originality, and probably tons more. If anything, I think the winners deserved it. And I believe that as the number of Tokyopop contests go by, the more talented the winners are. Obviously, in five years, there will probably be 1,000+ entries and 10/1000 is a slim chance. But there's no reason to give up, either. I've tried drawing an entry on my own, but I need serious practice on background pictures, still objects, fight scenes, and STILL hands. Even though I know I'm a good artist, I still need more practice.

No, Suuichi doesn't have a sister in the anime. The manga and anime have their differences, but I love both of them. I've picked up volume one of the Gravitation manga, and I'd have to say I really enjoy it. I've seen all of the anime, and I generally prefer anime over manga, so I guess you can do the math. ^_~ There's actually two versions of the Gravitation manga. The first version is shounen-ai; the second is yaoi.

Don't think vocals and music aren't mixing well together? Psh. Listen to Ode to Joy by Beethoven. [the real thing, not the crappy revised versions middle school orchestras play]. Originally, orchestral muisc was played alone with no vocals, but if done right, it will sound really great. And most music today was branched off of classical music one way or another. Anyways, the language of the lyrics in a song don't really matter to me. It's the sound, melody, rythm, harmonics, etc. that matter to me.

It's just a popularity contest in middle school.
