Very nice, I like the shading you did with this. I like the picture a lot overall, it's very well drawn.

Originally posted by klinanime1 'kay, I'm a big orchestra freak, and it always pisses me off that NO anime has a violinist with good posture. Yours is WAY better in comparison. The hand holding the bow is flat, not humped like that, though, and get that violin UP!!!!! They look like fiddlers and will rub their necks raw (trust me). The end with the chinrest is slightly larger than the other end of the violin, just fyi. Just keep at the violin! It'll get easier when you study violins.
Lmao, thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Keyblade told me the same thing when I posted some other violinists. Heh, I play the cello so I guess I don't know how to draw correct violin postures. :D

Art Last chance to get in the Otaku Artist Elite for a while
eleanor replied to a topic in Creative Works
I'm agreeing with Transtic Nerve. I beleive most of the people in the OAE have been entered because of their digital work, though some of the people who have been accepted throught that are actually extremely good at it. Different people view things differently... :P I know I'm definately not elite, and neither are most people in the club. I suck at graphics and realistic drawing, the only things I can make are simple banners. -
GoKents, for totally killing my anti-war argument and making me feel stupid and extremely moronic. I will never again reply to anything until I really know about it.

I am not looking forward to studying for geometry, physical science, and Spanish. But yes, I think I'm happy to be going back to school. It's getting pretty boring here at my house, and I just hope I'll get a good schedule.

Hohoho, I'm becoming eigth grade next year, so I can trip little sixth graders. ^^ Naw, just kidding. I personally think it's stupid to make fun of people just because they're in a grade below you. It's stupid, really. It's not so bad in my middle school, and my sister said that the high school I'm going to go to isn't that bad either. ^_^ But I guess I'll be able to meet upper classman in orchestra. But I guess it would be cool to make good friends with upper classman. Heh, my friend talks about her high school friends a lot. "Oh, yeah, all of my SOPHOMORE friends are prettier than her." Ugh, I am going to HATE this year. I must study for geometry, and now I hate all things related to angles and circles. Not to mention spanish...

The legs are okay, but the shoes are weird. They don't looke normal. One of her hands is blocky, as well. Her right ear sticks out a bit too much, but everything is allright.

Lalaith can't hate anyone. I mean...just looked at his signature. Ha, just kidding. Doesn't Logan have the same thing? >_< Taylor, you shouldn't loose sleep over worrying about....the internet. It's the internet. The people on OB are random people from all over the world who probably don't even know you well.

Yeah, may be lack of creativity. But I still have a nagging feeling in the back of my mind. By 'strength', I meant physical strength. In both of the games' beginning (or the FFVII's real story's beginning), Sephiroth and Riku are stronger. I think Charles summed up the emotional strength well. This is an article from a site called Strife [Cloud Strife shrine-thingy]. It has some spoilers for Final Mix, but keep in mind that Final Mix is not the sequel, just a remake only coming out in Japan. In Final Mix, a re-release of Kingdom Hearts in Japan with additional features, Cloud encounters Sephiroth at the Olympus Coliseum shortly after Sora departs. They share a cryptic conversation before clashing in an epic showdown appropriately titled the ¡°Showdown of Fate.¡± (Thanks gamefaqs.com for the text) Cloud: So we meet at last. Sephiroth: I was searching for you too. Cloud: As long as you exist, I can't wake from this nightmare. You are my darkness. Sephiroth: If that's so, I shall draw you into the darkness. Into the nightmare that forever deprives you of light, from which you can never awaken. At this Cloud raises his sword as Sephiroth leisurely reaches for his. Both are charged with so much pent-up energy that their surroundings begin to tremble. All at once they charge, exchanging blow after blow at unimaginable speed before their conflicting energies push them apart. Sephiroth vanishes in a cloud of feathers, only to appear above Cloud with an out-stretched hand. Cloud flies towards him, sword poised, and the scene goes white. This scene imposes many questions regarding Cloud's role in Kingdom Hearts, if it is ever to be expanded, as well as his past. Although it is very possible that this scene was simply added to appease fans, the obvious familiarity - not to mention strong contempt - between the two makes me wonder just where Square intends to go with this. Much of the fan base seems to accept that the Final Fantasy characters came from their own worlds which mirrored the games they were originally from, meaning Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith (Aeris), Yuffie, and Cid knew each other prior to the events of Kingdom Hearts through their adventures in Final Fantasy VII. This would certainly explain why Cloud despises Sephiroth so and why he allied himself with the god of the underworld to find Aerith. However, both Aerith and Leon (Squall) acknowledge the Hollow Bastion as their home and Ansem as their leader, suggesting that they have nothing to do with their original Final Fantasy incarnations. Which brings us back to square one: how do Sephiroth and Cloud know each other? I think its safe to assume that whatever incident led to the showdown had much to do with Aerith. It is evident that Cloud has come to associate the two, calling Sephiroth his darkness and Aerith his light. Furthermore, it seems Sephiroth feels the same way, saying that he will lead Cloud further into the ¡°nightmare that forever deprives you of light.¡± The question is to what extent does she influence their past conflicts and how does she extend the present? Ironically, it may be through the present that we uncover their past. Towards the end of the battle we see Sephiroth appear above Cloud and extend his hand as if inviting the other man to grab it. Interestingly enough this parallels a gesture committed by Sora¡¯s friend-turned-nemesis Riku at the game¡¯s beginning. When considered, the similarities between the pairs are startling. Not only do Sora and Riku have very similar physical features when compared to Cloud and Sephiroth, but it is possible that the boys¡¯ story seems to be heading down the same path as that of the one winged angels. As discussed in a previous section, it is possible that Cloud¡¯s single wing in KH is supposed to represent himself being tied to Sephiroth- each being the extreme of a human being and only ¡®complete¡¯ if somehow joined together. Interestingly enough, Final Mix also contains an extra scene that introduces a hooded man known as ¡°unknown.¡± Unknown makes some enigmatic remarks before challenging Sora to battle, as the script provided by The Ansem Report shows: Unknown: You look like him. Sora: What's that supposed to mean?! Unknown: Which means, you are not complete? Incomplete one... That power... Allow me to test your power. (A battle ensues) Unknown: Truly fascinating. This is going to be enjoyable. Sora: What're you talking about? Unknown: In your present state you probably cannot understand. In any case, the time when we can meet again will doubtless come. If such a theory proves correct, than Sora and Riku¡¯s story may unfold similarly to Cloud and Sephiroth¡¯s hinted past. Unfortunately, that still leaves many questions unanswered, like how Aerith fits in. It is possible that Aerith¡¯s role is similar to that of the object of Sora¡¯s affections, Kairi, but even her situation is complicated by new information introduced in Final Mix: We discover that Kairi is not a Princess of Hearts as previously thought, but in fact the result of an experiment by Ansem to find the Key Bearer. Hopefully, because most of the Disney villains have been defeated, the inevitably darker Kingdom Hearts II will have a more Final Fantasy tone and more back-stories will be revealed. Until then, I don¡¯t understand any of this but will dress up my incompetence with this lengthy section. http://www.peach-arrow.net/strife/indexx.html

Anime Battle of the Pairings (Canon/Yaoi/Yuri/Cross-Series etc)
eleanor replied to Patronus's topic in Otaku Central
:P Yay! Kaworu/Shinji [Neon Genesis Evangelion] One of my all-time favorite anime couple. It seemed as if Kaworu and Shinji were made for each other....Shinji needed someone he could talk to and not get judged by, and Kaworu was exactly that.
[even though Kaworu was the enemy]
The scene where Kaworu and Shinji meet is a scene that I beleive is a great anime scene. It's so....good. Cloud/Zack [Final Fantasy VII] Ok, ok, so there are two girls throwing themselves on Cloud every chance they get. But think about it. The relationship between Cloud and Zack must be extremely deep.
While being tested on by Hojo for five years, Zack was the only person Cloud could turn to for comfort, and vice versa. And Zack practically sacrificed himself so that Cloud could survive.
-

The orchestra could turn me down because I'm a stoopid eigth grader, heh. O_o

Ok, this has been bugging me even since I laid my eyes on Sora and Riku. If you take Cloud and Sephiroth, and Sora and Riku, they look like each other. I mean, Sora has spiky, unruly hair with bright blue eyes. Riku is a like a Sephiroth clone with shorter hair. Their relationship is somewhat similiar as well. Cloud looked up to Sephiroth when he was little, and I guess...Sora sort of looks up to Riku. And Sephiroth and Riku were both stronger than Cloud and Sora. I mean...it bugs me sometimes. [I even made a comic about it, it kept on popping up into my mind]

Thought of putting all my sketches in a thread, so I could look back on them every now and then. First one is a bunch of sketches of a boy playing violin. My sister thought I could design the high-school's orchestra T-shirt, so I'm trying it out. Surprisingly, drawing a person playing violin/viola/cello is hard. [very] At least for me, it is. If anyone has any suggestions for me to draw, they'd be appreciated.

So you finally chose on the manga title! :P I like the picture, but yeah, the dragon does look like rubber. Put some scaled on it, eh? I also like what you did with the girl, with that...light-effect thingy. But the green-haired guy...is just standing there, alone. ^^ Love the manga, the teacher is very amusing. I have one just like her. [I hate her guts]. Thought, at times, you make people's legs look fat and striaght, like they have no knees.

Nice-looking effect, but the text kinda ruins it.

I can't see the Trunks either.

:P I got the last one, sorry again for the delay. http://maladjusted161.250free.com/artwork/grant.jpg Heh, I drew this thing last night at...what, 2:30 AM? XD I just felt like it. Drew it quickly, but I liked it a lot. Try not to look at it if you hate yaoi/shounen-ai. [very minor, though] If you don't know who Omi is, he's the kid of an anime series called WeiB Kreuz. He looks like the boy in the center, and Omi is usually portrayed as feminine... See the connection? Eh? No? ::sighs:: Got the plushie idea from a small comic I drew a while back, I'm still trying to find by going into the masses of paper left behind in my cabinet. If you don't get the two plushies on the side: Sora: I am a carbon copy of Cloud! Riku: I am a carbon copy of Sephiroth! I mean...aren't they? Seriously, if Sora died his hair blonde and grew up, he'd look exactly like Cloud. If Riku grew his hair out and grew up, he'd look exactly like Sephiroth. Freaky, no? And of course, the other two plushies on the bottom are Kaworu and Shinji. ^^

Here's mine. Very simple, though. ^_^ Love the wallpaper, anyway.

Mm, tasty boys. >_< Nice banners! I like the WeiB Kreuz one [Aya's mine]. It may be my computer (since it sucks), but the first one's animation is a bit choppy. ::shrugs::

Boys [Russ]-I first heard this name from my friend, Mallory. Her older brother's name is William, but I heard her call him Russ. It caught my attention pretty quickly. I thought the name was so cool, everyone thought I was a lunatic. [Satoshi]- Japanese name, of course. Heard it from the anime series DN Angel....he was some evil, genious type boy. :D Doesn't it have a nice ring? Satoshi. ::walks away saying Satoshi::

Heh, love the banner. I like the design you gave it, and the background. First thing that caught my eye was the tab (very nice idea) on it, and of course the gun. Lol... EDIT-:D Loved the Rem banner as well! You cut images very nicely....^_^ I love the banner as a whole. Keep up the good work!

Lol, before I use my markers (if I get them), I'd have to learn where to highlight and shade. Or rather, where not to color, as Semjaza said.

Being a good critic on your own work helps you tremendously. It stops you from being too arrogant, and let's you correct flaws in your work. Though, if you over-do it, it's just plain annoying to other people.
