[font=trebuchet ms] As much as being in college is nice, I really wish I was back in high school, not really worrying about anything serious and having a fun time hanging out in my classes with friends. I say this mostly because I spend nights like these freaking out about my future. And lately I've been doing it more and more, and I find myself feeling depressed over it. All of my friends seem to have a preprofessional plan that they genuinely want to pursue, not a plan for plan's sake. Every job I'm interested in are ones with a notorious uncertainty of success and years of hard work for a 10% chance of making it. I spend a lot of time wishing I really wanted to be a doctor.* As neurotic as I was about getting into college, now that I'm in I wish I just had the balls to drop out and do whatever the **** I wanted. *Not saying that becoming a doctor is EASY, because God knows I've witnessed first hand how hard and suicidal it can be, but I envy the clear cut path. Get good grades/MCAT score, go to med school, do residency, become doctor. tl;dr I wish I wasn't so lazy [/font]

[font=trebuchet ms] I feel like the Twitter revolution is more hype than real participation. Yeah there is a significant amount of people who use it, but IRL I don't see many of them. I feel like most people get one and then never even go back to the site, because in terms of "staying connected" there's already Facebook and MySpace. If anything Twitter is better for forging new connections rather than renewing old ones. I mean you can follow celebrities and businesses/organizations (which is what I use it for) but in general I don't see the catch. I'm also annoyed with all the stories I hear about "I got a job through Twitter/Facebook/whatever", because as cool as online social networking is, it will never replace IRL connections. The only reason people get jobs through online networking is because they knew the person already. tl;dr I'm annoyed that people treat Twitter like some amazing internet phenomenon when really this is as big as it's going to get.[/font]

It was to study for a final at 11:15 AM and by 8 AM I was in the dining hall (literally) slapping myself while watching funny Youtube videos while slovenly eating buttered grits to keep myself awake. I'm a sleepaholic and even my friends know that the reason I'm not texting back you back after 5 texts about going to the movies tonight is because I'm sleeping. And coffee/tea/two Monsters in a row/soda does not help me stay awake. Honestly I have been searching for something that will help me stay up for school, but nothing has worked on me so far. [/font]

[font=trebuchet ms] JUDGMENTS NEEDED! So Craigslist situation. Guy (his name is Dennis) is selling pretty decent seats for sold-out concert at face-value (and other tickets are selling for almost double what they're worth). So I email him and tell him I can pay full in cash IF he gives me pictures of the tickets and the receipt he got for them. He says "sure I'll do that and forward them to you", but never forwards me anything so I forget about it. I see another posting on Craigslist with the same seats and same face-value price that Dennis had posted (at the time I didn't realize they were the same) so I email and lo and behold Dennis responds. So then I'm like "oh he must have made a another post....idk why though". But anyways in my email I pretty much say the same thing and Dennis this time says "I can't give you pictures but I can meet you in person whenever". SKETCH OR NOT? tl;dr: Same guy posts same tickets twice on Craigslist, except the wording of each post is different...and for some reason he can't take pictures but can meet with me.[/font]

I mean if someone on the internet told me my music taste sucked I'd post a bitchy .gif in response (I live for online .gif wars) and not care, or tell them off angrily or something idk, but in general I don't care about those type of people. I guess my problem is that one of my best friends does. Like, my three closest friends are in general very judgmental of my music selections. Two of them usually keep to themselves and don't ever complain about any of the music I play, but one of them is really vocal about it and it's just irritating. I mean she's vocal about every opinion she has, but in this case it's annoying. i.e. We'll be in MY car and I'll be giving her a ride, and she'll criticize the music on my iPod. A typical conversation: Me: *chooses song* Her: What is this? Me: *I answer* Her: EW! (I mean literally all she says is "EW!" and I just sit there silently and simmer) Or she'll comment about how my iPod sucks, or something else obnoxious. I'm pretty sure most of it is just because she's a music elitist. I mean the way she builds her music library is by going through Pitchfork and downloading the albums that were rated 8.0 or higher. It's sort of hilarious to see her in action, because she thinks of herself as some indie music buff but once I played The Arctic Monkeys and she had no idea who they were and promptly labeled their music as ****.[/font]

[font=trebuchet ms] I got really angry at my friend last night while I was giving her a ride home from an evening out. Basically my iPod was plugged into my car's radio and I was searching around for a song I wanted to hear, and whenver I chose something my friend would ask "what is this" and then an "EW!" after listening to it for all of 5 seconds. Like, idk, if someone is giving you a ride then please STFU about their music choices, or at least think of a more coherent way of describing your reaction to a song. And honestly, like it wasn't even "bad" music. My friend is the biggest music elitist ever, a classic p4k whore, and views any band she hasn't heard of with suspicion and generally rejects any mainstream/top 40 songs. She basically thinks anything I listen to is crap, because I enjoy mainstream music. For some mindblowing reason she can't comprehend the idea that I like top40 songs and "indie" bands, except I'm not as showy-offy with my music tastes. So when I do play a song she doesn't recognize, she's already blocked herself in and doesn't give the song a chance. And the thing is this happens ALL THE TIME. She think I have bad music taste because I don't love Radiohead and Belle and Sebastion and Wilco like she does and it just pisses me off.[/font]
