1.
Is a legend, was way past his expiration date, made a lot of mistakes and vain attempts to get public attention when he could've politely just not made a spectacle of himself, etc. It is difficult to mourn the passing of someone very contritely when the majority of people just wish he'd stayed the way he was in the 70s. If he'd done so, we'd all probably be a lot sadder.
Also interesting: he took down Twitter, /b/, Livejournal...probably other sites. His death actually reminds me more of Steve Irwin's death and the big hoopla about "how soon is too soon" about making fun of someone who's died.
2. I've heard of conflicting reports? Though he's probably dead, I wish the source wasn't TMZ lol. He's still a legend, haters to the left.
3. Hate tattoos, would never get them.
4. 'ROME' IS THE BEST SHOW EVER.
5. I'm watching HBO's Rome. Whatever your favorite tv show is, Rome is better. It pretty much blows away any drama/action show you've ever seen. HBO/Showtime >>>>>>>>>>> every other sad station that tries to make quality tv. You though Gladiator was a good story about Ancient Rome? lol @ you. gtfo WATCH ROME.
6. Video games never translate well into ANY other medium. Movies, books, mangas, whatever. My 2 cents: - There are too many holes because with games you spend 95% of your time actually playing, and so when it translates the other medium has to make up **** to fill that time in. Even though it seems possible to translate it well (i.e. character has to go to some temple, so in the manga they can just depict that) there is a large disconnect between interactive gameplaying and storytelling. - Even if people choose simply to take the world of the video game and use the story loosely... like Allamorph said, spin-offs are generally about money and not genuine passion or interest about it. When spin-offs/recreations DO work, it's usually between more relatable mediums: book/plays --> movies always work best (and when you think about it, a lot of the best movies are usually based off of novels), tv shows --> movies are second best. It's because movies/books/tv shows are all based upon some form of a script, whereas games are based off of gameplay. - Seriously, even games based off of movies/tv shows are always terrible. Again, the disconnect and the focus on milking franchises. I'm of the opinion that video games should stay video games. No matter how you spin it or how many contrary examples you want to throw at me, games are about playing, not storytelling.
7. What the hell, why did I ever stop reading this? I suddenly got the urge to read it again and downloaded all the chapters released so far. The first time I "started" reading this I picked it up somewhere in the middle thinking my knowledge from the anime would tide me over- except I realize now that was a mistake. So I started over from the beginning and it's a **** lot better than the books I've been trying to read lately, lol. 1. FMA manga >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1st FMA anime. And I love the FMA anime, but reading the manga made me realize how rushed and not fleshed out the anime story is. Too bad the 2nd anime series is also disappointing me. 2. Nice to have a story with great art style and reliance on strength of character development and well-planned/paced/execued plot, something anime/manga in general lacks severely. Sucks that each chapter comes out monthly, otherwise I think the FMA manga community on the internet would be bigger. 3. Major love for Armstrong and all the kickass female characters. :) World needs more awesome female writers. 4. Suddenly the mere thought of FMA yaoi has been completely blown away, because Ed/Winry and Roy/Riza are A+++.
8. I played a Twilight drinking game with some friends last night- good if you want to get drunk quick.
9. Classical all the way, helps me focus more than any other kind of music.
10. A lot of CEOs and Chairmen become CEOs and Chairmen without detailed knowledge of the business they're assuming power over. It's more about intelligence/ability/etc. more than knowing the ins and outs of everything. If you're the engineer, yes, I'd say you'd need to know a lot about cars, but for someone who is dealing with large project management and business management...I'd say it's not terribly important. Which I think can be applied to a lot of job situations. A smart, educated person who majored in say... history, would probably be able to jump right into an advertising firm and do well. Most likely better then the average person who majored in marketing and went to the same advertising firm. Also, GM, lol.
11.
Anime has taught me that the Japanese are weird.
Or as I like to say, Japan weirds me the **** out. [/end thread]
12. I don't have health insurance, which makes it awkward for me when I have to visit the doctor. For vaccinations and such I just go to the public health clinic and wait several hours, and if I feel the need to go to the doctor for something else I either 1) suck it up or 2) pay cash. I get weird comments from my friends about not having a family doctor or health insurance, but for the time being it seems fine. Although sometimes I do wonder my parents don't do it, it has never really bothered me I guess.
13. From what I remember: - high heels - sweatpants - ipod converter - GPS system (my baby) And this is my car at its messiest.Usually it's sort of immaculate lol.
14. Fox's pilot for their new fall show Glee. Predictable plot/characters, but awesome music. So in the end, idgaf I love it! Their covers of Don't Stop Believing and Rehab are seriously amazing. Anyone who likes musicals should watch it.
15. Just finished my first year of college. I had always wanted to minor/double major in graphic design, production, something along those lines. But I ended up going to a strictly liberal arts college, so hopefully I'll get into the journalism program here and see where that takes me. Or transfer. Although I just got out of an interview with a television station so maybe I can get by with experience. Who knows? But I'm probably going to law school, so I guess the only thing I should really be concentrating on is keeping my GPA up. har har.
16. Surprisingly my college doesn't make me pay for random ******** charges. I mean I do pay a $132 rec/athletic fee, but I use the gym a lot so I don't really care. However this doesn't matter because my tuition alone is enough to make someone have a heart attack. Anyways, no need to talk about how dumb this property tax for students is. I pay taxes for my work study and that alone sort of annoys me.
17.
How about not relying on small circular collections of pixels like a thirteen year old and actually using your words to refute everything in my post you found inflammatory, incorrect, or depressing.
I'm too worded out, I don't even want to think about creating logical arguments. I'm on vacation, girl. But on the issue of the thread topic, I don't... see the big hoopla I guess. I agree with everything Retri said. Personally I don't feel the need to see these pictures, or don't see the need for it to be leaked onto the internet where it will for probably become a joke on 4chan. The only issues I would want to explore due to this situation would be like... the effects of war and power trips and the kind of people who join the army.
18.

Personally Obama is in trouble either way, and I am now going to take a few brief moments to enjoy the Messiah in distress. 'Scuse me. ....aaaaaaaahhhhh..... Right, now that's over with. I personally feel that there is nothing to be gained if he releases or retains the photographs. I find it doubtful that they're going to be any sort of 'new' and 'inventive' form of torture. Likely it'll be what we've all seen before. Some 'poor' guy getting water poured up his nose. Personally I could care less if there was torture and the release of said photos would probably only result in me personally critiquing the torturer's form. The world of course will respond with INDIGNATION and other such moralizing tripe but that's only to detract from the simple fact that ALL COUNTRIES TORTURE. Whether they're smart enough to keep such information under wraps or not, Russia, the UK, Middle Eastern countries, and Asia. China and Russia both gleefully torture their prisoners, and not with waterboarding which is what I personally call 'recreational activity'. England has a long and glorious tradition of fun and unique torture methods. Egypt, Saudia Arabia, all those countries happily whip out the pliers when a certain prisoner is not being forthcoming. I mean should we really care? I personally don't. I don't think it drags us down as a nation and our world image has yet to be improved by Obama, so a little more blackening will hardly kill us.

My emotions while reading this post:   :( :animesigh
19. Generally I hate JJ Abrams because of all the praise he gets despite the fact that I hated Cloverfield and Lost is dead to me, but this was a great movie. I'm probably not going to ever watch it again, but it was an awesome summer blockbuster movie. 2 hours of pure entertainment, it was amazing. I wish all of them were like this.
Is there any word about potential sequel ? As they've created a whole new timeline to have fun with.
Under JJ Abrams on IMDB there's an "Untitled Star Trek Sequel" listed for 2011. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'm pretty sure Hollywood is eager to start a sequel.
20. I went to the mall today and literally spent an hour trying to pick between two necklaces, I finally decided on one when my sister for once picked up her phone and reminded me that my mom hates turquoise. lol But I'm getting up early tomorrow to make her breakfast, which will consist of freshly baked zuchinni bread, eggs, fruit salad/yogurt, etc. And for dinner...I don't know yet, my dad will handle the protein portion but I'm making pasta and grilled asparagus. I actually ended up spending more money on the groceries than on the necklace, haha.... -_-

22.
Anyone else ever have to eat soap when they mouthed off too much?
Yes...except I didn't have to "eat" it. My mom just made me sit in the corner with a bar of soap in my mouth while I held my arms up. Painful lol
23. People complain about quality of high school/college food too much.
24.

Agreed. Except whenever I was being a bitchy little kid my mom whipped out a wooden pole.
25.
I am listening to the most bomb-diggity playlist ever though. So that's a happy thing.
Post it gurl.
I am tempted to call bull on that one, but . . . well . . . . > >;;
Ha! No, I totally understand. We actually had already done group projects, and my group did it on Seamus Heaney. So I already knew a lot of the subject matter and he wrote a series of "bog poems" so I just ran with it.
