Everything about this movie was fail. The conception, the casting, from what I hear the script, and worst of all the promotion. It was expected to make 8 million for the opening weekend and it made like...what, 1-2 million? Half the people I knew didn't even know there was a Dragonball movie coming out.

I've recently started to download some hip-hop songs and I wanted to see if anyone here had good foundation songs/playlists to offer. I mean I have all the recent, mainstream popular artists (T.I., Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, NERD, etc.). I've been starting to download artists like Talib Kweli and Little Brother, and downloading old songs of Nas and such... yeah, sorta random list of artists, but I guess you get the point. Or like, use this thread to talk about hip-hop in general.

This thread reminds me of the beginning of freshmen year college when all the smartass students challenged our psych teacher with dumb questions about basic statististic principles. Literally every class someone asked him about random selection and causation.
I am wondering how in the hell I am going to be able to do an acoustic indie rock cover of "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire!
Too many people are obsessed with this song. Also I just want to proclaim my love for Pinkberry/Yoforia/Juicy Green.

Ways To See If Your Boyfriend Is Not Straight

This was fun. All joking and comedic ranting aside, I do feel this is a product of our times. Something needs to be done, because the moral fiber of our world is degrading quickly, and it's not Grand Theft Auto or MTV. It's the home life, and parents. Or lack thereof. Food for thought?... ... Chewing at least?

Each older generation always thinks the younger generation is degrading the moral fiber of our world. Something to think about. Sometimes I feel like while many teenagers have become lazier/brattier/more selfish/dumber than previous generations' teenagers, at the same time many teenagers have risen above and beyond what earlier kids did. It's just that these good things are not really reported or publicized as much.
In response to the mother part, they are divorced. Really, why even have a case like that, she won maybe gets money, but from her father! what has it gotten to, is she going to go live with her mom? And who got her the lawyer? The mother?
I know, but I read that in Quebec you need a "tutor" to let you go into a case like that since the girl is underaged, so it was most likely her mother. Also I'm pretty sure she didn't get $, and the lawyer was the one who handled the divorce between the girl's parents.
-
So many things confuse me about this. Why was this case even accepted? How does the child's lawyer live with himself? How much money does he make doing stuff like this? How bitter is the mom to have let this happen? Why are 12-year-olds obsessed with chat rooms? They aren't even that exciting? At least, to me?

I've lived in Georgia for 19 years and the weather still confuses me. It was 75 degrees yesterday but it's supposed to snow tonight. Also I register for classes in a week and a class I *need* to take this semester is already full. fml
So now what do I talk about?
My friend who just got into Princeton, Dartmouth, UPenn, and Brown and is now bemoaning to me the difficulty of choosing between them.

Azula is so overrated. Everyone was obsessed with her because she was a powerfuly and bitchy/evil and somehow this was really edgy and meaningful, sort of like how some Harry Potter fans are obsesed with the Malfoys and Bellatrix simply because they're powerful and evil. I don't get it.

It's interesting, although it's not something I would read for fun to be honest. I've been thinking of maybe concentrating on postcolonial literature for my English major. I have a question about Austrailia- I've been thinking about studying abroad there. How do people there feel about Americans in general/how are tourists treated?

I'm reading A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies. Imperialism/colonialism never fails to utterly disgust me.
I'm a black person, and I'd never be caught wearing those shoes lol. Don't really like the style of it nor the colors.. I had to do that.
OH, haters to the left. NGL, only a few people can pull them off, don't be jealous. ;) lol I confuse people with the way I dress. I'm the type of person that can pull off any type of clothing (except petite), which I really like.
Six Flags Over Georgia! Whoo! The Ninja sucks. You wait in line for an ungodly long time for a ride that is about a third of the length of decent rides (Superman, Batman, Scorcher, Goliath, etc) and you dismount with a headache and a contorted backbone. The Goliath is my favorite. I also love the DeJaVu, but I once got stuck on it for over an hour and a half because of 'technical difficulties'. Needless to say, as awesome as it is, I never intend to ride it again.
I don't even bother with the Ninja anymore. I'VE NEVER RIDDEN DEJAVU BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS BROKEN WHEN I'M THERE. And I want to so badly. But the Goliath is my favorite, too. At one point there was no one at the park so my friend and I just kept sitting on the ride and went through it like 4 times.
I never considered owning shoes like that before, but now I am. And I kinda really want a pair. Time to go Windows shopping!
Is it sad that I already have an outfit planned for it. Like the whole skinny jeans and bandanna get-up. But I have trouble deciding between these two: BTW I made these on NikeID. If you have $100 or so laying around you can get them. Ridiculous, but I just recently ran into $100 for free and the first thing I thought of was buying these. If you don't everyone should still play around with it because it's sort of addictive and maddening trying to figure out which color scheme is your favorite.
Who cares about becoming a cool black person? I'm white and I post on OB and I would wear those shoes NOW. -Shy
True, I could rock the cool Asian girl thing.
Those shoes are brilliant! :bdance: I actually have a question for anyone here who has been on a rollercoaster - especially a very fast one: Have you felt discomfort afterwards because the whole time you were trying to hold your head still to avoid it moving side to side?
And they incorporate my school colors. :D There's this one ride at the Georgia Six Flags (The Ninja) that is infamous for making your head shake side to side so you end up hitting it on the bars, so whenever I strain my shoulder/neck muscles to keep it still they get pretty sore.

I secretly wish I was a cool black person who could dance their *** off so I could have an excuse to wear these: After having N.E.R.D come to our school this feeling has only intensified. Also I wish to marry Pharrell.

Yes. Especially when I found out I'd have to pay for college on my own. With private loans. Enter long string of curse words, mostly consisting of "**** my life".
