Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
eleanor replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
Naruto manga chapter 300:
When I saw that Sasuke was back, I wasn't surprised, but I was still like "HURRAY FOR A GOOD PLOT STARTER". And also, thank god he isn't wearing that really ugly purple belt thing. :/ And he's still a brat. Good 'ole angsty emo Sasuke. I'm really wishing for a small fight between Sai and Sasuke so we'll know exactly how strong Sasuke is now. And I'm hoping that one of them will kick the other's butt, because I'm not exactly fond of Sasuke or Sai. I'm hoping Naruto will be able to control Kyuubi somehow and kick both their butts. But that's wishful thinking. >_> Any guesses as to when Sasuke and Naruto will meet? I say maybe in 4 chapters or so... seeing as Kishimoto always teases readers until the point of insanity.
-
I watched this movie not too long ago. I loved it. But it bothered me that I had to read the subtitles to understand it. And they messed up at some points, but I was still able to understand the movie. Yeah, it killed me when
Ed seperated himself from Roy and Al, too. But when Al popped out of that suit of armor in the end, I had the biggest smile on my face. But I wish that they had ended up in their own world in the end, so that they could still use alchemy. Ed is no longer the Fullmetal Alchemist!
:animedepr [/color']
*sigh* Yeah, the fangirl side of me
totally wishes that Ed and Al were still in Amestris together. But I guess the fact that they end up in the other world is to prove their love for each other.

Not really something you can search for, but a fulfilling life. I hope that now during my youth I'll appreciate hanging out with my friends while doing spontaneous things with them and having relatively little worry, and I hope that later on I'll know what accomplishment feels like. Stuff everyone would live for, ya know? Other than that I think I go pretty far to obtain money. Once I chugged down water filled with salt for twenty bucks. I almost died, but I was twenty bucks richer.
-
Fullmetal Alchemist had me chugging down soda in order to stay awake during the night. I think it was during summer break or something, but I was hooked. All I could think was that I was incredibly glad school was on break and I had downloaded the whole series in one sitting instead of episode-by-episode. Yes. It's like the ultimate anime. Evangelion did the same thing to me when I first watched it, but it's not one of my favorite anime series anymore. :/ And as lame as it may sound, I'm a narutard. I got really excited the first time
Naruto busted out Kyuubi's powers when Sasuke was about to die.
Like. Really excited.

True point. I guess it was a win-lose situation for Sakura. But point is, I don't think Sakura would just another Ino if she were on another team. Even though her experiences with Naruto and Sasuke made her want to
train under Godaime
, she's still a pretty strong ninja. The fact that she always wanted to please Sasuke or the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke probably kept her back from doing a lot of things. And usually in the anime/manga it's when Naruto or Sasuke is gone that she does anything.

I just finished watching the FMA movie. Some words to describe my feelings: HOLY %@*$ BEST ANIME MOVIE EVER. Ok, not the best, because there is no best, but that was up there. It totally reaffirmed my fangirlish side over FMA. My ramble over how amazing this movie was. 1. Everyone who finishes the FMA series must watch this. Watch it or weep. No kidding. 2.
Wrath vs. Gluttony = I love Wrath and totally forget about how I used to hate him. It's so amazing, to see such humanism in a character that was completely brainwashed with anger before. Love. LOVELOVELOVELOVE.
3.
I adore how the movie stayed true to the very core of FMA, which is basically the love between Ed and Al. The scene when Ed cut off that part of the wing Roy, Al, and Ed were standing on killed me. It made me teary. When Al started screaming, I was going to explode. Even that tiny scene where Al's soul left from the armor, and he started while in bed? Yeah, I weeped inside, and I'm proud of it. FMA is so hellishly amazing to encorporate so many themes into the series and effect you in so many ways, but you know that behind everything is just the relationship between two brothers. It hits me more than any anime series, or any other fandom for that matter, does. Except maybe Naruto.
4. I love Winry. In the beginning of the series, I thought she was pretty annoying, but everything she boils down to is a strong spirit. I can't imagine whatever she's going through. It must be touching to know such a strong love between people. Hawkeye, too. And Izumi. The women in FMA rock hard.
Except the obvious two.
5.
Roy bustin' out his alchemy was teh shiz.
And to top everything off. Why can't there be more anime series like FMA?! *cries* Edit: And to what Dagger said earlier
about Al being strong?
HELLS YEAH! That kid is talented. You could always tell from the FMA series that Al could probably pop Ed a new one if he really wanted to. http://cryogenia.livejournal.com/155498.html#cutid1 ^ Another funny thing to read ONLY IF YOU'VE WATCHED THE FMA MOVIE.

When I was little, this old woman literally took me from my mom's cart in a grocery store. My mom freaked out when my sister pointed this out, and she hunted me down. Apparently the old woman thought I was a cute little boy. No, I am not making that story up. I was just as surprised when my mom told me about it. Should I be worried? Anywho. I wear guys' basketball shorts all the time. They happen to be incredibly comfortable. :] Guys' shorts in general are comfie.

*string of curse words* I had no idea that the FMA movie was available on the internet. I almost exploded when I read the posts some of you guys made in this thread. And also felt like an idiot. Ok, well. It's taken as true that there will be four OAVs released. One's a complete chibi episode, another is new scenes that go along with the main anime...and there are several rumors concerning the other two. Some people say another will be about present-day Ed, but I have no idea. There's some crack rumor about a second series and a second movie, but everyone's pretty convinced that they're...crack. Interesting little tidbit I found for anyone who's bored: http://community.livejournal.com/fm_alchemist/4163276.html#cutid1
i love naruto!!or err...the series!!lol!!my fav characters would have to be kakashi(hes hot, perverted, and an awsome ninja),neji(i love his attitude!!),sasuke(i love his seriousness!!),and tenten(love that shes one of the only chicks who doesnt play the damsel in distress!!)
I was just thinking about the whole damsel in distress thing. I used to dislike Sakura, but she's one of my favorite characters now. :] I think the problem was that she was put in a team with Naruto and Sasuke, two ninjas who had enormous potential and strength. She never really got to come into her own, as Kakashi never really treated all of them equally.
The thing is when Sasuke finally left and Naruto left to train with Jiraiya, she actually became and amazing medic nin. And she's not one of those bad-***, no feminine side at all anime chicks; she's just a really strong woman. And it's better now that she doesn't just obsess and worry over only Sasuke, but all her friends and such.
I think the strangest I heard was on NPR about this guy in Alaska who was planning on putting a nuclear reactor in his home so he could create isotopes, I think it was. Needless to say, his neighbors weren't very happy. Also the story about the woman who robbed banks while talking on her cellphone the whole time! I wish I could have heard that conversation....
I thought that isotope story was hilarious. Can you imagine that? "Yes, I'm just trying to make some isotopes CAN A MAN HAVE HIS PRIVACY?!" Or this may be a side-effect of overstudying for chemistry. I don't know about funniest/strangest, but last night I was in North Carolina and I was watching the local news. Apparently nothing was going on, so they made a big deal about some old woman who ordered a vacuum cleaner six months ago and still hadn't received it. Oh, wait, it was two vacuum cleaners because she bought one for her neighbors! I can feel shivers of excitement running through my bones. Sometimes I feel really, really bad for news reporters.

Manga Naruto Manga [Warning: Spoilers]
eleanor replied to Ryo the Tactician's topic in Otaku Central
I recently found out that the fillers will be lasting for what, another month or something? I'm not sure, but that's what I heard. *head bangs on desk repeatedly* For the manga...
up to now I still don't know what to think of Sai. He pisses me off, but I guess I don't have the full story yet. I liked chapter 299, especially the conversation between Naruto and Yamato about Naruto defeating Sasuke with his own eyes. Nice touch. I love Kishimoto, he's so amazing with the Sasuke/Naruto relationship. I'm pretty interested in Sai's picture book...I hope it's not a comic relief.
-
Hah, one of my friends was watching Adult Swim last night, and after Stroker and Hoop came FMA, of course. He never watched anime, so he thought he'd give it a try. He watches FMA, and the scene after the commercial break, he gives me a call going "What just happened? Isn't he the main character?" And at the end of the episode, he says he really likes the show and wants to watch more. I didn't say anything. I just told him that it was the last episode and to start watching on weeknights when it replays the whole series. He thought I was kidding, but of course, I wasn't.
Another reason as to why I howl and scratch the walls whenever I poke my nose into the FMA community from time to time. I am dying for the movie. I'm keeping up with the manga, which is excellent, but I still need that closure for the animated series. >_>

Well. Toast. (It all boils down to faith. For that reason I respect people who are religious. For some reason I myself cannot devote my time or mind to any religion. I pray in my head to 'God' in a joking manner when I'm alone and when some very minor problem has come up I automatically think "God's punshing me". At the same time, I don't really consider myself a Christian. Must be the way I was brought up; I have no idea.)
-
I know you must have spent forever drawing the fence behind the guy... so kudos to you. I think it's fine the way it is as a background. Also I'd like to congratulate you on the gun. It's very well drawn. :) Good proportions, except the feem seem to be huge. Also, in the space between his legs there are no wrinkles or indication of seperate legs, and arm muscles should be indicated. The facial expression is interesting. Is he about to kill himself or is he just posing? lol
-
To me, your bodily porportions aren't bad at all. :] The sizes of the heads match the body and the body matches the length of your arms and such. The only real proportion problem I see if the size of the wrists/hands compared to the length of the arms on the guy in front. My only advice to give you is to learn how to sketch quickly. It's a lame peice of advice to give you, but all it means is more and more practice. I can tell by the way your lines look that you drew the picture slowly, which is great for beginners, but if you keep on drawing and practicing, wrinkles on clothing become instinctive. All in all, cool picture. There is definately no serious proportion problems, and the fact that you're a beginner and drawing group pictures impresses me. I still suck at them a lot. >_> Hope to see more work!

So I was bored and I was thinking about what dress I would like to design for myself if I ever did. :D That's not exactly the dress I had in mind... it didn't really remind me of a dress you'd wear to a dance or something. Maybe a cocktail dress? *shrug* Just an outfit I made up. Her eyes were placed in the wrong place on her face. v_v This guy was a character I drew a long time ago, and I think I've just randomly drawn him ever since. Typical bishounen. (Yes, I know the weapon things are totally weird looking. >_>) I did these quicks and aren't very serious pictures, but any critique and comments are welcome!
Oh really? I stumbled across this[/url'] (Read: 64 page thread on how and why fangirls want to have Sesshomaru's babies). I know you love the AL, but let's be honest -- it's the black hole of the boards. *pre-emptive dodge of all coming attacks*
I remember when the Anime Lounge had multiple sections, and the Yu Yu Hakeshu section was like death and brimestone and Bill O'Reilly. Actually, I think that the AL has always been plagued as the worst section of the boards. I used to post in it all the time, but I randomly stopped because it tends to get very repetitive. Anywho, I just wanted to add that when I was in middle school I was a part of many forums, and OB is probably the most well-knit. OB reminds me of my high school in a way. Sometimes clique-y and draggy, but for the most part a friendly and accepting place. (Yes, I'm blessed to be in such a high school.)

I didn't know about this until right now, but... cool! :D I've only seen three of Miyazaki's movies (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke), so I'll probably try and catch some of the others. I still haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle, which makes me sad, but I guess I'll rent that at one point or another. And... props to Totoro. Best anime character ever.

Ok, well, I haven't really read through all of the posts in this thread (>_>), but I was really disgusted when the video of Bush before Hurricane Katrina started circulating everywhere. I used to keep up with politics and whatnot and I've definately fallen out of that loop from since then, and I don't know the details concerining the video, but seriously. I know there was huge speculation over Bush's responses to Katrina, but now this comes up and all I can think is 'wtf?'. Leader=helping people. Not preparing for giant hurricane that will flood city=not helping people. I think it's pretty simple.

Actually, sometimes I wish I were a new member (I joined in 2002). I remember some of the posts I used to write, and it want to go hide in a corner. >_> I definately went through the wangsty, arrogant, all-around messed up teenage stage while I was on the boards. I regret a lot of things I've written on these boards, and I hope that no one remembers them. *mouth twitch* Then again, I'm still a teenager, but I guess you know what I'm talking about. I really don't think they've changed that much. We still have a fair share of intelligent members, fun members, and good artists. We also still have a fair share of n00bs. We have always had a fair share of n00bs. *shrug* I was a total n00b when I joined.

Tres cool. :] The only problem I have with it is that the wrinkles of the sleeve are a bit odd and don't depict a solid form around her arm. Also, the two random short strands of hair sticking out in the back seem sort of akward. Nice soft coloring and proportions! And she plays an instrument, which is always plus cool points. Hope to see more work.
;_; But she cut her hair! *sigh* Anyway, I think it's one of those movies that could be really really good, or really really bad. I dunno -- it's just a vibe I'm getting from the trailers. It's a guy in a mask, the Big Ben exploding, along with a bunch of soldiers and people crying. All of those traits are characteristic of terrible action movies, as well as wonderous masterpieces. I'm hoping it'll be the latter. I'm going to see this on saturday... I'll post my review on it here after that.
Yes, but she's still hot. And has a perfectly symmetrical head. ;) I think it could be a mediocre movie, rather than just really really good or really really bad. I'm also hoping that all the action scenes they stuffed in the trailers is an attempt to get more people to watch it. From the reviews I've read excerpts of, it seems to be one of those 'not amazing, possibly not great, maybe not good, but entertaining and solid' movies. I guess it depends on the viewer's taste. Then again, I have no idea how I'm going to see it considering it's R. >_> I hope someone can take me. Le sigh.

I Love food. Love with a capital 'L'. I don't have any personal special recipes, but I make stuff at home all the time. Long list of foods I love: hamgurgers, fajitas, cornbread, breaksticks, onions, peanut butter, spaghetti with shrimp (I have my own take on the recipe), chinese take-out, kalbi/bulgogi/kalbi tang, sushi, fried chicken, pizza, lasagna, mangos, peaches, candy corn, caramel, smoothies, ice cream, chestnuts, cheez-its, corn chowder, clam chowder, biscuits and Jesus Christ I could go on forever. Whenever I have enough ingredients I usually whip up fajitas with tons of sour cream and guacamole and salsa and it's incredibly drool-worthy. Most of the time I use a combination of chicken and shrimp with peppers, onions (a lot), mushrooms, and more onions. I _> And the fact that I wrote this huge post instead of studying for my chemistry exam is proof that I love food more than 90% of the world.

Congrats! I'm on academic bowl, except I'm not incredibly into it. I am into our debate team, and a bunch of us are going to Chicago for the NFL (national forensic league). Actually, to be specific, our debate team doesn't debate, persay. We basically do extemperaneous speech, original oratory, and dramatic interpretation (IMO policy debate is crazy and somewhat pointless). One of my friends also qualified for state in lterary regionals in girl's extemp speech. I almost made it in timed essay, but unfortunately I only got 2nd place. :/ And speaking of Chicago, our orchestra got invited to play at the Midwest Clinic there (basically an international music clinic that's pretty big). It was pretty exciting, except the amount of time we spent practicing was also crazy. And our school totally kicks *** at Model UN. We've won the overall school award for it about a thousand times. >:]
Exactly. From my professonal hair dressers mouth he has stated that Asian hair is actually the hardest to curl just as its hard for usually black hair to straighten (you have to chemically straighten your hair which is worst thing you could do to damage it, even bleaching).
Really? I've gotten my hair chemically straightened about three times now (I don't really plan on doing it again because my hair was never that curly in the first place) and it appears to be in good condition. I hope it's not dying on the inside or something. o_o
