I never really had much of an answer to this question until lately with the release of the new Modest Mouse album Good News for People Who Love Bad News. It was my first time ever listening to the band, and the first actual song (skipping the intro) I found was one to which I could relate well. It is called "World at Large." "Ice age, heat wave, can't complain. If the world's at large why should I remain? Walked away to another plan. Gonna find another place, maybe one I can stand. I move on to another day, to a whole new town with a whole new way. Went to the porch to have a thought. Got to the door, and again I couldn't stop. You don't know where and you don't know when, but you've still got your words and you've got your friends. Walk along to another day. Work a little harder, work another way. Well uh-uh, baby, I ain't got no plan. Well I'll float on, maybe would you understand ... gonna float on, maybe would you understand ... well I'll float on, maybe would you understand. The days get shorter and the nights get cold. I like the autumn but this place is getting old. I pack up my belongings and I head for the coast. It might not be a lot but I feel like I'm making the most. The days get longer and the nights smell green. I guess it's not surprising, but it's spring and I should leave. I like songs about drifters, books about the same. They both seem to make me feel a little less insane. Walked on off to another spot. I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want. Did I want love, did I need to know? Why does it always feel like i'm caught in an undertow? The moths beat themselves to death against the lights, adding their breeze to the summer nights. Outside, water like air was great. I didn't know what I had that day. Walk a little farther to another plan. You said that you did, but you didn't understand. I know that starting over is not what life's about, but my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth ... my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth ... my thoughts were so loud ..." It is pretty much myself in a nutshell, heh.

Not bad. I just wish they were cleaner in terms of visual quality. This is like uber low budget theater. >.> It is too bad you cannot learn flash quick and use sound instead of text for speaking. =P That would be cool, heh. It is actually not hard to do either. The most "complex" program you need is the flash animator. Most computers have some kind of basic sound editor somewhere on them. The biggest problem is file size would raise. >.> Anyway, the humor is kind of dry, heh. Or at least it is getting that way. It is all the same kind of stuff we see from you. Though the guy playing with the dolls was funny. Reminded me of Spaceballs. The Newspaper thnig was funny, too. Though those were probably the only good parts of that episode. Otherwise it semed like it was just a filler. I might suggest including different scenes with different characters in one episode, in order to keep things interesting. Kind of like you did with the whole Lord of the Rings thing, but with your actual characters involved in the story, lol. I could probably rant on for a long time, but it is your show. I do not want to preach too much ... >.>
I guess I'm lucky my class was so small (50 people.) If I'd had to sit through a graduation like the ones our local public schools have, I would have probably strangled myself with my cord. :whoops:
455 graduating seniors! Woo! o_O That was not even the entire class, lol. We also had the diploma cases handed out at the actual ceremony, heh. I felt nothing special with my "walk." I was just bored having to sit through all those names, lol. It is not as though it was the peak of my life, nor was I not expecting to graduate. So there was nothing really all that special about it aside that I was just graduating from high school. College, maybe that will be something different. In terms of college, I have been accepted to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and I am looking into their college of Journalism & Mass Communications. I am still debating what I definitely want to major in, but will settle on News-Editorial if nothing else seems appealing; the only other two majors in that college would be Advertising and Broadcasting. I think News-Editorial will be fine, though. I just need to try and "decode" this New Student Enrollment book. There are so many extraneous things in it, I get confused as to what I am looking at. The main thing I am worried about is being able to pay for it. Earlier I had a friend tell me I am, quote, "failing at life." That upset me a bit ... but eh. I am actually farther along in getting everything with enrollment settled than he is, so whatever. Just because I have no job/car/etc. does not make me a failure. *bold, proud stance*

OOC: Go figure the three people we are waiting for are all from my caravan! Woo! -__-; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was rather warm out, but the occasional cooling breeze seemed to make it all worth its while. Dwam watched as his father left back towards Port Tipa on their cart. He watched it until it disappeared over the horizon. He nodded to himself and removed his Partisan, holding it at his side. He was anxious, and needed something to do with his hands. Dwam did not necessarily feel like practicing with it. Not because he did not want to, but he figured there were to many other people around and it would be a waste of his stamina now that they are so close to starting. Instead he merely gripped and release the shaft continuously in different places, occasionally switching hands, sometimes just examining the blade on the end. The bridge was rather full of other caravaners. Selkies seemed to be in the majority, closely followed by Clavats. There was only one other Lilty, and no Yukes present at all. "Seven," he said under his bucket. He slammed the butt end of his Partisan on the surface of the bridge. An odd number. If others did not come one caravan would surely be short-handed. "No matter," he said to himself as his pride began swallowing his hot temper, "I am strong. I can surely be an asset to either caravan, short-handed or not." This was the trademark pattern of Dwam's attitude, and most Lilties he knew, at that. He was quick to lose his cool, even at the drop of a hair, but his bold sense of dignity would not allow him to just lose it all together. He was too proud to lose, and that, he concluded, was his best weapon, and still is.

I think it looks better than the cartoon does, lol. I honestly do not see anything wrong with it. It looks like you screwed up on his knee, though. I am not sure what all that other stuff is doing in the image, heh. I think the main image could stand alone, without that awful green background, and look even better. You could probably even have saved it as a GIF if you did that, and ended up with a better quality picture as this one is obviously JPEG-itized. The art itself is good, though.

RPG Brave Fencer Musashiden: Thirstquencher's Revenge

Gasuke and Kamikasai came to a sliding stop from their run not far from the Twinpeak Mountain/Grillin Village entrance. They both turned around to wait for the boy they have met eariler, who was calling after them. They did not have to wait long, they noticed, he speed exceeded their own. When he arrived, he directly approached Kamikasai. "You are not going to get very far carrying that sword," he warned. Kamikasai took a defensive step back, hovering a ready hand over the grip of his weapon. His face was tense, burning with fury on the inside. He was getting irritated by all the people making such a big deal about his sword. "Who are you to be so concerned about it?," Kamikasai responded. The boy sighed. He figured it was highly unlikely Kamikasai came upon that sword himself. Someone must have given to him, and that someone probably had an agenda. He would have to dance around the subject so as not to interfere with that plan. It was best to not ask many questions. "My name is Sen Mocha," the boy said. "I am a regular around these parts, and I am knowledgable in the myths and legends that surround this kingdom." Kamikasai relaxed. He still had no idea what this Sen guy was talking about, but he did not present himself as threatening. "As I was saying," said Sen, "you would be wise to conceal your weapon." Kamikasai gritted his teeth. He felt like he was at the butt of some cruel joke. Many people seemed to know something he did not, and that irritated him. Regardless, if the Sen guy does know something, it would probably be best to heed his warning. Especially considering the behaviour of the guards in the Twinpeak Mountain area. Kamikasai removed his sheath and sword while stripping off the jacket of his gi, leaving him in his vest. He wrapped his jacket all around the weapon and carried it under his arm. "Good," acknowledged Sen, "the Thirstquencher Guards have a keen eye, but are too lazy to care to check under wrappings. You said you were heading to Grillin Village, yes?" Kamikasai and Gasuke looked at each other, exchanging glances. "That is correct," confirmed Gasuke. Sen stood silent for a moment, analyzing the two in front of him. If the short, firey-haired kid truly was who he thought him to be, and if he has already teamed up with who could only be the son of the revered "Fire Dragon of Allucaneet" ... surely a plan to take down the empire was already underway. The Kamikasai boy just needs more people. "Very well, I shall accompany you," Sen said. Kamikasai and Gasuke were astonished at first. "Are you sure you know what you are getting yourself into?," asked Kamikasai, raising and eyebrow. "I know more than you give me credit for," answered Sen. "I'm a scholar in legends as I told you." Kamikasai nodded. This boy did seem rather keen on things. Just as Kamikasai was about to turn and continue walking toward Grillin Village, he noticed he was at a fork in the road, and he forgot which way he was going. They were currently on the path leading down from the Twinpeak Mountain area. In front of them was a hard dirt path, with obviously pits dug across the road in some places and high walls on either side; and to his right was just a clear path. A dumbfounded expression flushed down Kamikasai face. "So, uhh, Sen," asked Kamikasai, "where do these roads go?" "This one is the road to Hell's Valley," he said as he pointed in the direction of the road with high walls. "It was once a high-security prison used by Allucaneet, but they don't use it anymore. And to our right is the path to the Grillin Village area." "Right," said Kamikasai as he immediately trotted off towards Grillin. The others soon followed. -
OOC: It might be to your benefit to send a PM to everyone telling them this RPG started, and to view the last post in the sign-up thread so they know what caravan they are in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Port Tipa The late morning sun gleamed off the Lilty's helmet ... or, um, bucket, as he tipped it up with his right hand to get a better view of the long dirt path before him. He would be traveling down it soon, to go to the bridge and attempt to start or join a caravan. He did not know of many people from his village that were embarking on such a quest, but he has heard through mouth and mail that many from the village of Tipa were starting to head out to retreive the Myrhh of which their lands were becoming in need. "How troublesome," he said slightly irritated, "is it time to go yet?" He slipped his bucket back down and impatiently waited. In attempt to distract himself, he practiced his offensive footwork, mimicking a weapon in hand. "Getting a little anxious, are you?" a voice asked from behind as a shadow cast itself beside the bucket-headed Lilty. He turned around swiftly, again mimicking an attack. It was the boy's father, and one of his siblings was behind him as well. Both of them were carrying some kind of package with them. The father smiled with a brief chuckle as he pushed the sibling forward who removed her small pack and presented it to the bucket-head. "Dwam," said the father, "Ika has something for you. Your other sisters also helped gather it." Dwam Ciam, the bucket-headed Lilty, stared with wondering eyes at the pack being presented to him by his oldest sister, Ika Ciam. He reached for it, and lifted the burden from his sister's hands. It was rather heavy for just one's normal luggage. "Go ahead, look inside," said Ika with a delighted, but teasing eye. Dwam grabbed the flap of the pack and flipped it open. Instantly his nostrils were filled with the aroma of delectable Meat. Dwam lustfully licked his lips as he closed the pack up once again. He also smelled traces of Gourd Potatoes and Round Corn. "They are all packed in preseratives, so you do not have to worry about them spoiling any time soon," said his father. Dwam was very pleased as he threw the pack over his shoulder and proudly faced his father and sister. "We figured Tipa is mostly full of Clavats, and maybe some Yukes," informed Ika. "We cannot be forcing you to live off of those darn fruit and veggie lovers." His sister again arrogantly smiled. "If you are lucky, maybe some Selkies will join your caravan and have meat as well, even though the prefer fish," Ika said with a cringe. Dwam's father stepped forward placing a hand on Ika's shoulder and pulling her back a bit. It was his turn to present to the bucket-head. "Dwam Ciam, your armored outfit says that you are ready for the battles that may lie ahead, but your empty hands speak otherwise," his father said, proudly smiling. "That is why your two brothers and I worked together to give you this ..." The father held out a long object that was all wrapped up in cloth. He nodded to Dwam for him to take it, and he did. Again, it was noticably heavy, but nothing Dwam could not handle. Resting one end on the ground, Dwam used his free hand to begin removing the cloth which concealed his gift. He was anxious to see what it was, but he was careful none-the-less. At the moment the cloth fell to the ground, Dwam's jaw dropped open as he beheld his first weapon he could call his own. "We figured you would be strong enough to use it by now," said his father, boldly folding his arms across his chest. He shook his head as he chuckled lightly. "I can still hardly believe it, our youngest is going out in a caravan. You better live up to your title as a Lilty, I trust that you will." Dwam firmly gripped the Partisan given to him with both hands. He thought it was absolutely amazing. It was nearly flawless, custom designed for his use. He was indeed strong enough to weild it, but the mere physics of it made the Partisan very easy to use. Anyone with a body different from Dwam's, Lilty or another tribe, would have greater trouble. All his life while he had trained in the Port Tipa area with generic, lesser weapons their family created in their shop, he had always preferred the pikes. Regardless, he always had to give them back when he was done. This one, however, this Partisan was his own. He flipped it behind him and slipped it into the sheath on his back, which was fit for any pole-arm weapon. He then stretched out his arms, neck, and legs in anticipation. It was almost time. "Thank you, father," said Dwam. His father nodded in response as a mule-drawn cart pulled up beside them. The rest of his siblings hopped down to greet and goodbye their brother. "Nice Partisan!," Tefut, the middle-child of the brothers, teasingly said. "Yeah, it looks good on you!," responded Hmomy, the oldest brother. Dwam flashed them both a thumbs up in thanks for their efforts. His other two sisters, Drya (the middle-sister) and Pipei (the youngest sister), approached him with a hug. Dwam slightly cringed, he felt this situation was getting a little too mushy for him, but he figured this would be the last time they would see him for a while. He gave them both thanks for their contributions to his food. His mother dropped down from the cart. "I have a little something else for you," she said as she knocked on the top of Dwam's bucket with a supporting smile. "It is not much, but you are going to take it whether you want it or not." Dwam tipped up his bucket and looked at the small packet of paper his mother presented to him. A pen laid on top of the packet. Dwam retreived the accessories from his mother and carefully placed them inside a pocket of the pack his sister's gave him. "You will write us and send off letters whenever you come across the Mail Moogle. There is enough paper there to last you a long time," she said. "Make me proud." Dwam nodded and knocked his bucket onto his head again. It was time. He clenched his fists tightly and widened his stance before sprinting to the cart, leaping and climbing inside. His siblings gathered around the mother and their father joined Dwam in the cart. The rest of the family waved them goodbye and turned back towards their shop as the father took the reigns. "You ready, son?" asked the father. Dwam hardly heard him. He was sitting right next to his father with his bucket off and placed beside him. His gaze and full attention was set on the road ahead. "Father ..." Dwam said, still in his trance. His father curiously looked down at him. Dwam had been looking forward to this for so long, he thought, there was no way he was having second thoughts now. "What is it, Dwam?" he said concerned. There was a dramatic silence as he awaited the answer. Dwam confidently smirked and laid back against his seat, restfully closing his eyes. "Bring me that horizon," he answered. His father cracked a smile and chuckled to himself. That was his son all right, and without any further hesitation, they were off toward the bridge.

It also does not hurt to add the height and width of the image within the tag, that way the page knows there is something there while the image loads. The alt area is optional. Whatever you put inbetween those quotation marks will appear if a viewer hovers their pointer over the image. It will also be displayed if the image is broken.
Another thing, it's none of my business, but why are there so many Merchants and Blacksmiths?
I chose to be Blacksmith based on the fact my character is a Liltie, the stronghold of close-range/hand-to-hand combat. Their short description alone, "High strength and proficiency with many types of spears" screams a higher potential being a Blacksmith than any other of the available professions. *nods* That is my justification.

A sharp metal clang split the air as both Gasuke and Kamikasai whipped their blades out to meet the oncoming spears being driven to them. Gasuke hooked his curved blade around theshaft of the spear and used the leverage to throw the guard into the others. The two boys used this short opportunity to gain some distance. "Darn it!" Kamikasai said, "the other one must have gotten out of the river and informed other guards around here. This is not going as planned, they will be looking for me in Grillin Village, too." He kept his focus on the recuperating guards, there were about five of them. Fortunately, they were slow, but they could pack quite a wallop. "Don't worry about it," Gasuke responded, "these are just the Twinpeak guards. It is a long way to Thirstquencher Empire, so the guard you beat should still be on his way there. We shouldn't have to worry about town interruptions for another day." Kamikasai nodded, then looked at Gasuke questionably. "Have you ever killed someone before?" Kamikasai rhetorically inquired before dashing the guards. Gasuke stood shocked. He did not realize that Kamikasai was not going to be able to let these guards go, for they would follow him to the village. He watched Kamikasai battle the guards, fairing rather well, but not without some close calls. He had slayed monsters of this land before, but never another person, even from Thirstquencher. But then he remembered his father, who so bravely fought when Thirstquencher invaded these lands. There are some things that just have to be done. Gasuke switched gears, his face was now serious. He resheathed his blade and began to focus his Bincho. He brought a gourd to his lips, which he had at his side, took a drink, and placed it back. He then lifted a hand, clad by his gifted gauntlets, to his mouth, his index finger and thumb placed firmly against each other. "Kamikasai!," he shouted with warning, "Jump!" In the midst of battle Kamikasai made a quick glance at Gasuke as his focus was drawn to a spark that was emitted with the snap of his fingers. He instantaneously took one solid effort into a bountiful leap as a massive stream of fire was expelled from Gasuke's mouth and into the group of guards. They all caught on fire, as the blast withdrew. Kamikasai landed just outside the group and range of the devastating attack, and took no hesitation in charging in for the coup. The guards were too panicked to realize what was happening as one took a sword through his side, another cut across the neck, a skull crushed by the hilt. Kamikasai swept his foot behind the legs of another knocking him to the ground. Kamikasai leapt on top of him and coarsly thrust his blade through the armor and into the guards chest. The final guard saw this and began to run. Kamikasai tried to remove his blade, but it was stuck. In his struggle he heard a slight yelp, and looked back to the fleeing guard as it fell to the ground with Gasuke's blade cleaved into its back. Kamikasai was shocked to say the least. He did not think the boy had it in him. He looked over at Gasuke. He was still looking in the direction he threw his blade, breathing heavily. Kamikasai yanked his blade free from the guard and walked slowly toward Gasuke, who, not noticing Kamikasai walking toward him, went to retrieve his blade. When he had, he faced Kamikasai with a dramatic silence. "... Not bad," Kamikasai said with a slight chuckle, "... for your first time." Gasuke kept quiet. Kamikasai turned to the riverside and dipped his blade in, letting the current wash the blood away. Gasuke joined him by his side and did the same. "That was a pretty nice technique back there ... with the fire," Kamikasai complemented. Gasuke nodded. "It is not difficult, but is potentially dangerous," Gasuke explained. "I use Bincho Power to protect the inside of my body while I consume gasoline from this gourd at my side. Then with a spark that emits from these specially designed gauntlets of my father's, I forcefully regurgitate the gas which catches fire and continues its path. It becomes dangerous if I am too low on Bincho Power to fully protect my insides, or simply do not use enough. Fortunately, that is rather easy to avoid." Kamikasai nodded as he resheathed his sword, Gasuke followed suit. "And all I have is a shield, heh," replied Kamikasai. Gasuke smirked a bit, "You have more than enough fighting skills to make up for it, though. You handle that sword very well." Kamikasai responded with a smirk as well. "Right, well, we should probably dump the bodies in the river, then head back to town quickly." And they did just that. The current would easily wash the guards away, and they both sprinted back to town. -

The trek was becoming a bit tiresome, but Kamikasai could at least see the bottom now. He had already made it about half of the way down from where he was, which meant he should be approximately three-fourths of the way down the entire mountain. He had encountered several obstacles, monsters of these parts. The most irritating of which was a strange, overgrown mushroom-like creature, which expelled sleep-inducing powder at its target. He found that out the hard way, as it is even shaken loose when hit with his blade. He was forced to use a mint already in order to recover. Nothing he had come across yet was exceptionally difficult, but then again, it was all one-on-one. Kamikasai came to an edge, where there was a strategically-placed pole extending from the ground far below. He rubbed his brow, and took a few steps back. Then, in a quick sprint, Kamikasai leapt off the ledge through the air. He was able to snatch the pole with both hands and gripped it for dear life as his body continued its outward path. He strained a bit to pull himself in, and secured his legs firmly around the pole. He held the pole tightly with them as he released his hands to wipe is sweating forehead. "I hate jumping like that," he said to himself. He latched on with one hand and leaned away from the pole as far as he could to see the powerful river that would have await him if he missed the pole. He nervously chuckled a little before pulling himself back to the pole. Then, he carefully slid his way down to the bottom. The river grew even louder now, he was nearing the bottom. Excited to be nearly done with the mountain, he picked up his pace into more of a light jog. "Hey, kid!" an armed reached out from behind a boulder as Kamikasai went by and snatched the back of his gi. Kamikasai came to an unpleasant hault nearly slipping off balance. As soon as he stood still, he felt the grip release his gi, and Kamikasai turned around. A large, funny-looking person, but considerably armored stood behind the large rock armed with a spear. "I've seen just about every stupid child from Grillin Village come up to explore the mountain, but your face doesn't look familiar," the figure said. Kamikasai took an uncomfortable step backwards, unnoticably reaching for his sword. "As a guard of the Thirstquencher Empire, overlooking this area of the mountain, I demand you tell me who you are and what your business is here," ordered the guard. Thirstquencher ... Kamikasai thought, I probably shouldn't tell him my real name ... "My name is ... uhh, Iasak Imak," Kamikasai said halfhumoredly as he reached back and scratched his head with his free hand, "I am the, um, cousin of one of the villagers who lives in the village." Kamikasai nodded his head as if he was believing his own lie. The guard stood silent for a moment. "... Very well," he said, "go on now. Leave." Kamikasai fakely smiled, and nodded as he turned to finished his way down the rest of the mountain. However, he only made it a good fifty feet down the path before he was interrupted once more. "Wait!" shouted the guard after him, "what it a kid like you doing with such a dangerous weapon?" The guard had eye his sheath as Kamikasai walked away. Darn it, Kamikasai thought. What should I do now? He turned face the guard again. "I just brought it with me to protect myself while, uhh, traveling from my village, and over this mountain, you know? This isn't the safest place in the lands." The guard grumbled under his breath. "Bring it here! Let me see it!" the guard demanded. Kamikasai hesitated, but figured it would be worse to disobey what was the law of the land. He cautiously began walking back as he brought out his sword. The guard squinted his eyes to try and see it better from a distance. "It ... can't be ... ?!" exclaimed the guard to himself. His jaw was dropped open. Impossible, he thought, how would a mere child come across something like that? Kamikasai had drawn closer, and he could definitely see it clearly now. In shock, his spear dropped from his hand. The guard quickly remembered his actions should he ever come upon this situation. "Kid, you are under arrest!" the guard stated. Kamikasai's eyes widened as he stopped in his tracks. "B-but, what did I do?!" Kamikasai anxiously inquired. He began sweating once again. This was bad. "We do not allow foreigners into this village! You are to be taken to the Thirstquencher Empire immediately!" shouted the guard. "You just let me pass without any problems!" Kamikasai retorted. Crap! he thought to himself. He could not let himself be captured. It was obvious the guard had an alternate motive. Kamikasai quickly slipped his sword back into its sheath and made to run towards Grillin Village. The guard was not about to let him escape. In an instant he snatched his spear off the ground and hurled at the fleeing boy. He was, after all, told to bring them back ... dead or alive. Kamikasai looked back in time to see it coming and came to an abrupt stop. He turned to face it, seeing that the guard meant business. SNAP! "What?!?" exclaimed the guard as he watched his spear break in half upon impact with what appeared to be a Bincho Shield surrounding the boy. Children shouldn't be able to control their Bincho Power nearly that well, especially at his age, and in such a moments notice! Kids these days. "Hmph," grunted the guard, "fine, punk. We'll play it hard if that's how you want it." The guard cracked his knuckles as he stalked toward the boy. Kamikasai unsheathed his sword, and charged with considerable speed. The guard had nothing but his fists now. The guard grinned, and drew back his fist as Kamikasai came within range, and threw his punch. Kamikasai dodged it quite easily as he took a clean leap over the head of the guard. He landed safely on the other side and whirled around with his sword out as it slammed into the guard's armored side. The armor was rather weak, however, and took a cut. Kamikasai swiftly drew back as the guard turned. "Who the hell do you think you are, boy?" stated the guard. He reached to his side and retreived his Bincho Gun, aiming it directly at Kamikasai. "Dodge this." "Darn it!" Kamikasai exclaimed under his breath. He quickly brought up his Bincho Shield once again as the guard fired. His shield dissipated upon contact with the shot of Binchotite energy, which became considerably smaller but hit Kamikasai in the shoulder. The boy yelled at the stinging sensation, and retreated on the other side of the boulder. "You and your blasted shield," said the guard as he began walking to the concealed child. "You can hide all you want, but you are coming back to the empire no matter what." The guard turned the corner and fired a quick shot, only hitting the moutainside wall. There was nothing. The guard let out a dumbfounded grunt as he looked both ways along the path. "Where did he go ... ?" The guard turned around and looked down the edge to see if the boy dropped down to the path a distance below, but there was nothing. "Idiot," a voice interrupted from above. The guard turned around to see Kamikasai vaulting from atop the boulder and above the guard, sword raised overhead. The guard fumbled to draw his gun, but hilt met head too quickly as Kamikasai brought the butt of his sword down upon the guards skull. He stumbled backwards as the boy landed. Immediately, Kamikasai leapt backwards planting his feet on the wall and pushing off. He spun around and planted a strong foot beneath the guards jaw sending him flying off the edge. Kamikasai scattered to the edge just as the guard plunged into the river below and carried off by the sweeping current. Finally at the bottom of Twinpeak Mountain, Kamikasai just needed to make it across the river. Of course, to his disliking, there were four poles sticking up from the water to get to the other side. Strategically and carefully, he made his way to the other side, and continued on towards Grillin Village. After a while he came to a spot where there was a break in the path where the river water and eroded it away. There were two large rocks stick out of the water to side where he could jump and get across to the other path. "Hey, kid!" a voice interrupted. Not again! Kamikasai thought as he instantaneously drew his blade and pointed it to the other side of the path, where there was another boy about his age standing, looking rather confused by Kamikasai. "Huh?" Kamikasai said, realizing it was no another guard. "Oh, sorry about that ..." The boy was a bit taller than Kamikasai and looked tough enough, but his humorous expression told Kamikasai he was friendly. "Um, right. So what's your name? I don't think I've seen you around," said the boy. His expression was normal now. Kamikasai looked him over once again. He was pretty well decked out in apparel and equipment, particularly noting the large blade he was carrying and fancy gauntlets on his hands. "I'm, uh, Kamikasai. I am a Hero, heh," Kamikasai shuffled his feet, a bit nervous meeting this new person. The boy laughed. "Hero, huh? Aren't we all? My name is Gasuke Mochi ..." Much further down the river, an armored hand thrust itself into the water and grabbed the guard which had been knocked in by Kamikasai, and pulled him out of the river. It was another guard. "You idiot," said the dry guard, "there is no swimming on duty, especially in a current such as this. And where is your weapon!?" The other guard was drenched, soaked head to toe. He coughed incessantly finally able to breathe air normally instead of in gasps. As soon as he regained composure, he snatched the mouthy guard by the top of his breast plate and brought him sternly face-to-face. "We must get to the empire as soon as possible," he said in an urgent tone. "We have a situation." The other guards face drooped as the angered guard stormed away toward the Thirstquencher Empire. After a few brief moments, the other scrambled to follow. Meh, it seems I have run out of storage space on my image host. >_>; So, until I can fix this somehow, that grey background signifies Thirstquencherness. -
Name: Ludo Roche Age: 16 Apperance: http://www.paintpixel.com/gaara.htm (it took me forever to find a decent full-body picture, lol. hoorah for fanart! very nice quality, too. exclude the gourd on his back and the symbol on his head.) Element: Rock. Brief Background: It was approximately a little less than sixteen years ago when an elderly woman opened her door one morning to find a life-size, stone sculpture of a baby left in front of her house. She placed it on a small table and went out for the day's errands. Upon return, she found the sculpture to be missing, but there was a naked baby crawling around her home. She was absolutely bemused by this, and praised the gods for the gift they had given her: a child, one of the 13 powers. That was the only time his power ever surfaced until much later in life. The woman was indeed old, but had the heart of a lion. She was strong and fiesty, definitely skilled back in her prime. Ready to raise this child to his real potential, she put him to hard labor on her modest farm as soon as he could wield a small pitchfork, which was surprisingly at the age of six. By seven he would man the wheelbarrow and plant everything by hand. He was definitely strong for his age and thin build, but what was even more remarkable was his endurance. He could work the farm non-stop for an entire and hardly become fatigued. He was like a boulder, the wear and tear of harsh manual labor phased him not. It was at ten when his power resurfaced. Heavy rains were a threat to the farmland that year, and the old woman (who he had grown to call "Mother") feared that her crops would be flooded. Ludo, as he was named, ran outside to the humble field in the middle of a downpour. Indeed, the soil was not soaking up the water fast enough because the crops were at the bottom of a slant, and all the rainwater flooded down to the crops. Thinking on his soaked feet, the boy began picking up clumbs of access mud and began constructing a bit of a dam to block the waterflow. He packed it heavy and tight, and, little to his knowledge, became stone in his very hands. When he finished, the stone wall had successfully redirected the water around the field. By this time he had realized what had happened, and Mother felt it was time to let him know exactly who he was. From that day forth, Ludo made it his obligation to master his abilities, and ever-increase their potential. At twelve he was given a family gift. The woman felt he was strong enough now to weild it. It was an ornately decorated scythe, and extremely heavy, but Ludo hardly had any problems with it. At first his speed was slow, but through practice his skill has grown dramatically. Weapons:

Felsen Scythe (image) - His one and only weapon, aside from his power, the Felsen Scythe is a family heirloom of the woman who brought him in. It has been told that certain abilities within it can be unlocked, but only through experience of using the weapon.
Personality: Ludo Roche is a strong-willed, disciplined boy. He is focused, knowing when it is time to joke around and when it is time for business. He remains stone-silent unless he feels there is something to be said. Despite his eerie silence, people easily feel comfortable around him.

Sure thing, heh. Armor - Except the Legendary Armor, each other Armor class has more than one of each piece, so everyone has the chance to get them all. Sometimes, maybe after fighting a boss, their remains will leave behind pieces of each armor for each of the characters (just for the sake of convenience). Or perhaps I will have us find a treasure chest, some mysterious traveling merchant, ... heck, I could make them drop out of thin air if I wanted, heh. However, if a player wants to find a piece on their own (if they really want a certain piece for whatever reason) they can contact me first and ask, explaining the circumstance in which they would find it, and I would give them the go or not. I simply want to make sure one person does not have an extreme advantage over the next. Legendary Armor is a class on its own, and that would go to the legend, a.k.a. main character of the story, heh. As I said, no armor class, even Legendary, is really better than any other, it just suits a certain class better. Scrolls - While the fact that there are only the Five Scrolls will remain, I shall make it so that their properties can "magically" be used by each character without the loss of Bincho Power. There is a certain character that I will bring up in the very first post of the RPG who will have the capabilities of bestowing that power (and others) among the different members. The actual scrolls themselves are meant to be attached and used through Lumina, the Sword of Luminesence. So, if you think about it, the other players will have an advantage over Kamikasai. While he will have to physically switch the scrolls on the sword, you all can just go ahead and use the ability. o_O If you look on the picture I drew of him, Lumina is the large sword. That purple-ish circle piece in the center of it is where the scrolls would be attached. We will all be coming together eventually, and then set out on the quest to save the Allucaneet Kingdom from the Thirstquencher Empire and their threat of the Ultimate Weapon. You can read a bit of the old RPG to get an idea of how things will generally start and then begin coming together, here: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=34857 The characters of Raso, Melon, and Pooka I believe were particularly outstanding. Their development with some of the other characters was something I was very pleased with. The first post has changed pretty drastically, so do not pay much attention to it, heh. You can read it, but keep in mind that it will not be the exact same in this one. There is actually a plot hole in that post that I fixed in the new one (just when I thought the plot was light tight! lol). The other character, Seer, will be returning. He is the character I mentioned above who has "special powers." He is kind of my way of bending the rules, heh. Since there is not much of any way a person would be able to use the scrolls without Lumina, I use him as a bit of a way to cheat my way with the concepts. He exists to make things easier for all of us. He even says so in my new post, lol. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any more, please feel free to ask. Expect the RPG tomorrow, or Monday at the very latest. I might be a bit busy tomorrow with my step-brother's birthday. This just in! Randomly scouring the internet for Brave Fencer Musashiden information, I happened to have come upon some GIF animations someone put together from the game! I was very excited to find these, especially the ones that show how assimilation happens. They are fairly large in file size compared to your typical animation. I shall link to them so this page does not get slowed down while they run for those with slower connections. See below! Combat http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/whackani.gif (1.24 MB) In this animation we see Musashiden attacking a Thirstquencher guard somewhere along Twinpeak Mountain. It is kind of slow motion, but you get the idea. ^_^; This would be along the lines of how a Hero or Thief might fight in terms of agility (notice his little flip thing at the end of the combo). Musashiden is fighting with the sword Fusion, you can see Lumina strapped on his back. To Twinpeak Mountain http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/twinpeakani.gif (1.81 MB) Here you can get the idea of what the area is like just by Twinpeak Mountain. In fact, the ground you see at the top of the animation is part of the base of one of the peaks. As you can see there is a river flowing. It is a strong current that anyone could get swept away in (yet magically those lilypads stay there, lol). There are places people will have to jump, climb poles to higher levels of the mountain, etc. Process of Assimilation http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/assim_1ani.gif (2.31 MB) This is actually a very cool clip, in my opinion. At the very beginning you see the Thirstquencher guard fire his Bincho Gun, so you have an idea of what that is like. You also see Musashiden assimilate that guard's ability. First, he charges the sword, Fusion (notice the gauge flashing on the left). He then throws it into the guard (the green beam that flies across the screen) and it begins assimilating. When it is finished, if comes back to Musashiden and he has now has the ability, which in this case is Shot, the power to shoot telekinetic bullets from his hand (as is signified by the giant emblem that flashes on the screen). Using "Shot" http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/assim_2ani.gif (2.16 MB) Again, this is kind of a cool clip (but not as much as the previous one). Here we see Musashiden use the ability he assimilated in the previous clip, Shot. He is on one side of a river, and on the other side are a bunch of logs propped upright. You can see him put his hand out and have a couple shots fire from his hand, which then hit the logs and knock them down so he can cross the river safely. =) Bear in mind of course no one has Assimilation yet. It will come, though, as soon as we all get together. I just thought I would share these excellent clips with you. -
A massive scaley foot drove itself into the mud, a young boy with firey red-orange hair leapt out of the way. He retreated swiftly, hardly letting his feet make contact with the squishy ground. It was hard enough being completely soaked in the gooey mud. His light-weight, white gi was now a sickening brown and weighed at least fifteen pounds. His arms painted with the muck, as was his face. His hair had some chunks left in it, but was for the most part clean. The boy vaulted to a stop, his feet sunk deep. As the shrill roar of the lizard-like beast behind him bellowed through the air, he nervously struggled to free his legs from their captive position. The creature stalked towards him on its four legs. It was at least three times the boys height, and it was drooling syrupy saliva from its gaping mouth. The boy glanced backwards. It was getting close, and he was up to his thighs in mud. Thinking on the spot, he grabbed two handfuls of the mud, turned his torso as much as he could each way, launching the mudballs through the air the best he could. The monster buckled back wailing as one ball hit it in an eye. This bought him some time. He reached into his vest and pulled out five shuriken stars. By now the beast had recovered and was seething. It began to charge, which was more like a trot since its feet would get sucked into the mud. The boy wiggled his hips back, forth, and around to give him some leeway in his movements. Just then he was pelted in the back by several chunks of mud. He turned and looked to see that the creature had made a leap for the boy. He instinctively threw the shuriken sailing toward the beast. Each one cut deep into the beast's soft neck as it then just began its limp plummet. The boy let out a shocked yell when he realized he was not far from where it would probably land. He fiercly struggledto get out of the mud. He was up to his knees when the lizard landed a good thirty feet behind him, which would not have been a problem if its forward momentum did not make it slide. The boy worked quickly to finally free his feet. He looked back just as the monster came upon him. He placed his hands on the beast's nose to try and stop himself from being run over as it slid forward. He was pushed back further and further. He closed his eyes tight as he pushed with all his might. In a matter of seconds, he had stopped, and all was quiet except for the disrupted breathing of the creature. The boy opened his eyes only to find himself now neck-deep in the muck. A calm, irritated look overtook his face. Luckily there was an area between him in the monster where he was pushed at that depth, so he was not surrounded from all sides. He grabbed hold of one of the creature's nostrils and pulled himself forward, freeing his back from the mud. He climbed out of the hole carefully so as not to get himself stuck once more. He turned around and examined the monster. It was weezing and nearly choking as it just layed helplessly on its side in the swamp. One of his shuriken must have cut through its trachea. The boy walked to the monsters open mouth and stepped inside. The smell of its breath was gut-wrenching, but he was on a mission. He looked to his left, then to his right, searching along the roof and lower portion of the mouth. Almost confused, the boy wandered to the tip of the beasts tongue, and, with all his might, moved it out of the way so he could see under it. The beast moaned briefly getting a full taste of the mud. Sure enough, stuck in the back of the monsters front teeth was a rather large piece of silk cloth. He yanked it free with relative ease. Whatever it was, it was soaked in saliva. The boy shrugged it off, got a good grip on it and ran off toward a castle that could be seen in the horizon. Two polished, wooden doors flung open to a long red carpet. The room was large, decorated with ivory pillars, artwork, random silk drapes -- riches all around. There were scattered people of noticable wealth about the area talking amongst themselves who looked to the doorway when they were so boldly opened. King: Ah, Kamikasai, you have returned! The king was sporting a nice round belly. A very jolly-looking fellow, with a short, white beard and red outfit. The boy with the firey hair, Kamikasai, strided down the carpet. He was now clean, but still had the retreived silk cloth in hand. Kamikasai: Yes, and I have what you sent me for. He approached the king and held out the cloth, which was now dry and clean. The king took it from the boy with a nod and held it behind his back. Kamikasai: What was that, anyway? The king chuckled a portly chuckle. King: They are my most prized underwear. Kamikasai's eyes widened with a raised eyebrow and a dropped jaw. Underwear?! That is what his quest was about?! Kamikasai: You blindly sent me to hunt down what turned out to be a Gryzindine, armed only with shuriken stars, for a piece of underwear?! The boy was shocked, appalled, sickened, and yet ... slightly amused at the same time. He sternly folded his arms across his chest. Kamikasai: You had to have been sipping a bit too much wine when you gave me that assignment. King: But they are not just any underwear! The king exclaimed holding out his briefs. King: This is high-grade silk right here. Come on, you felt them when you held them. Would you not like to have these against your bum? Kamikasai broke his serious attitude nearly bursting into laughter. He could not believe the king had sent him on the mission the way he did, but it was all just so silly. King: You know I would not send you on a mission I did not think you could accomplish, Kamikasai. You are most definitely one of our most talented and skill young Heroes of this land. The king's mood suddenly turned a bit solemn. King: And with Musashiden gone, you were the only person I could think of on such short notice. Kamikasai cracked a smile out of the corner of his mouth. He was modest about his talent as a Hero, and he always was a bit flattered whenever compared to Musashiden in the slightest way. Kamikasai: Well, it sure was a test of my abilites, being put up against something so big, with only small weapons. The king laughed once, and looked at Kamikasai, knowing something he did not know. King: It was a test, that is one thing for sure. Kamikasai flashed a questioning look. Kamikasai: What? Before he could even make another move or speak another word, he was encased in a Bincho Crystal, which quickly shrank until it vanished. A cool mid-morning breeze swept across the grassy mountaintop. The clear, blue water of the natural pool in the center flowed steadily into the small river that winded down the mountainside. At an edge, facing outward, looking down on a small village just outside a fanciful palace, was a figure adorned in a earthly brown cloak with a gold filigree design reaching up from the bottom. There was a large hood covering his head and shadowing his face. He stood still and silent. In the center of the pool, a Bincho Crystal expand out of thin air and then dissipated, dropping the fire-haired boy, Kamikasai, who landed with a messy splash. Kamikasai: Ack! What's the big deal throwing water all over me?! And waddaya mean that Gryzindine was a te-- ... After scambling to his feet in the water, Kamikasai realized he was in a new surrounding. He was now dripping with water, but he hardly noticed. ----: If you are done screaming like a little child, I can explain the reason for your presence here. It was an elderly, but strong voice; the cloaked figure. Kamikasai treaded out of the waist-deep water toward the figure. When he was finally on the grass, he shook himself off and spoke to him. Kamikasai: Who are you? The figure made no motion of acknowledgment, speaking while continuing to look down upon the little village. ----: Seer. I am the ally your land has with the humble kingdom of Allucaneet. I am the last existing power of the kingdom who has not fallen to its rival's clutches. Kamikasai started to make sense of certain aspects. He was familiar of the connections with Allucaneet. There were a couple times when Kamikasai was going to be sent there before, but Musashiden was sent in his place, as was Musashiden's rival Kojiro. However, due to Kojiro's aide of Allucaneet's enemy, he was taken off the list of available Heroes that could be sent anywhere. Kamikasai: Why have I been brought here? Seer: About twenty years ago, the Thirstquencher Empire, nemesis of Allucaneet, made a full-scale invasion on Allucaneet, starting with its neighbor, Grillin Village. The village was destroyed. Many people fled to the forest, while a handful were captured. Troops of Allucaneet stormed out of the palace and collided with the Thirstquencher forces. However, Thirstquencher was too much. Allucaneet was overpowered. But before they could get to the palace, Princess Poisson was able to summon a Hero to aide the kingdom. That Hero was the one we both know as the Legendary Brave Fencer Musashiden. He level the Thirstquencher troops with the swords of Fusion and the renown Lumina, the Sword of Luminescence. He boldly made his way to the Thirstquencher Fortress in the sky. There he barged into the throne room and was caught off-guard by the powerful force that now rules over the empire. He was trapped in a Bincho Crystal, but not before he could use all of his last power to launch the two Swords through the Thirstquencher roof and into nowhere. Kamikasai folded his arms across his chest. This was not new information. Kamikasai: Yes, I am very familiar with that event. I have heard it many times. But that was twenty years ago, what does that have to do with me being here, now? Seer: Since the Thirstquencher Empire took over Allucaneet, the people have been allowed to rebuild the village and come to back and live their lives. It has been more or less peaceful up until recently. There have been rumors flying all around that the Thirstquencher Empire has begun constructing an Ultimate Weapon to destroy these lands. Obviously, that is one of the last things we want to happen, and since Musashiden has been captured, the Allucaneet Kingdom needs a new hope ... There was a dramatic silence as Kamikasai took in this new information. He averted his eyes to the side. It was apparent where Seer was going to take this. This was becoming a little overwhelming. Perhaps if he had been forewarned by his king, rather than just yanked into this situation, he would be a little more prepare--mentally, emotionally, physically ... Seer: Kamikasai, we need you to rescue the kingdom: the Princess, Musashiden ... I had your king send you on that quest because I figured a Hero who can defeat a large beast with a small weapon is a good place to start. You may not run into anything quite so big just in the forests, but I hate to think about what Thirstquencher has up their sleeve. Kamikasai put out a stopping hand, even though he knew Seer could not see it ... ironically enough. Kamikasai: Hold on, if the Princess is captured, how was I brought here. It was to my knowledge that only the Princess was given the power to perform the Hero Summon. Seer: As I said, I am the only power remaining of Allucaneet, and fortunately I am also the strongest. I do not need the Hero Summon in order to call a Hero. The Princess is always given the task because of tradition, and the Hero Summon is a bit more fool-proof. Kamikasai: Well ... if you are so powerful, then why do you not just take down the empire by yourself? Seer: They know who I am. They will be looking for me. If the empire is alerted of my location, they will send everything they have to capture me. As powerful as you believe me to be, I could not take on the entire Thirstquencher army, plus whatever else they may have. My main power lies mostly in the ability to aide others. You have the most potential, Kamikasai. That is why I have brought you here. Taking a couple steps back, Kamikasai humbly lowered his head. He almost hated being praised in any way. He was ready confident in his abilities, and it almost seemed too much to be reminded of them. Kamikasai: How have they not discovered you up here ... ? Seer: The Thirstquencher Empire is not familiar with the area of Twinpeak Mountain, and have yet to find a way to the top of either peak. It is a rather treacherous path to the top of either mountain, and the Thirstquencher soldiers so far lack the ability to make it past all of the obstacles. Again, a silence ensued. Kamikasai looked around the lands from the moutaintop, then walked to Seer's side, peering down at Grillin Village and the Allucaneet Palace. Seer: Kamikasai, you want to be the next Legend of Musashiden, do you not? Kamikasai: No ... I want to be the first Legend of Kamikasai. Seer chuckled a bit. The boy certainly had the right attitude for the job. He reached into his cloak and pulled out a long, rolled-up cloth, handing it to Kamikasai who talked further back onto the grass to unroll it. Seer turned around from his post and walked up behind Kamikasai. As the cloth was unrolled, several items were revealed: a sheathed katana, a canteen, a pouch containing some bread, and a pack of five small tablets. Seer: I knew you would have no weapon, so I am giving you this sword ... Fill the canteen with the water here at the top. This pool is known as Aqualin, it has healing abilities. You can sell the bread at the Bakery in Grillin Village if you want, for some Dran, the currency of Allucaneet, or keep it for your own health. The tablets are what are as Mint. If you are ever tired while venturing, take one, and you will be woken up a bit. Kamikasai opened the canteen and dipped it into Aqualin and filled it up. The Mint was tucked into his vest, the bread pouch and canteen were strapped to his belt, as was the sheath with the sword. He then turned to face Seer. Seer: You will not be able to do this on your own. Go Grillin Village and simply tell them that you need a group who is willing to take down the Thristquencher Empire. The guards there will just think you are crazy, but there should be some citizens willing to band with you. I shall take you as far down as the bridge between these to mountains. You are on your own from there. With that, Seer placed his hand on Kamikasai's shoulder and they vanished. On an old, wooden bridge, they reappeared. Kamikasai looked below the bridge where there were several large rocks in the rapids of a river. There was an entrance to a cave in the mountains on either side of the bridge. Seer: When you get to Grillin Village, and gather your group, bring them back to this point. I shall need to give each of you something before you continue your quest. Ah!, which reminds me ... There is one last thing I need to give you. Seer chanted some inaudible words under his breath. Kamikasai could not make it out, he was not sure if it was even a language he could understand. When Seer finished, he reached up and flicked Kamikasai in the nose. The boy flinched back and winced his face. Kamikasai: Hey! What was tha-- As he spoke, a translucent green bubble appeared around Kamikasai briefly, then disappeared. Kamikasai: ... What was that? Seer: You now have the magic ability to create a temporary shield of Bincho Power around yourself. It consumes Bincho Power to use it, so keep that in mind. It provides full protection against phsyical attacks, and half against magic. However, against more powerful foes, it will not do anything. Kamikasai nodded. He had never been in this world before, and therefore was unsure what exactly was waiting out there for him. Surely, as peaceful as this place seemed to be, there could not be anything to dangerous, but he could never be too sure. Kamikasai: So that is why you flicked me ... Kamikasai rubbed his nose a bit, almost feeling the urge to sneeze. He scrunched his nose several times in attempt to stop this from happening, and shook his head wildly. However, it was to no avail. He sneezed. Seer chuckled as he staightened up his garments a bit. Seer: Actually, I did not have to do that. Kamikasai: What?! It was too late. Seer vanished, back to the mountain top by Aqualin. Kamikasai sighed, a little discontented, and adjusted his equipment real quick so he was as comfortable as could be. Then, he turned around and cautiousluy made his way across the shakey bridge to make his way down to Grillin Village. If any of you other members want to use the nifty little table as well, PM me and I shall give you the code for it, heh. If possibly it would be cool if everyone did, and I gave each Class their respective color (from the Armor area, notice how my background is Red because I am a Hero). I think I shall give everyone the chance to do that, I shall be sending you all a PM shortly. ^_~
But I can tell you that whenever I ask someone to be a Moderator here, they usually don't see it coming and they are usually very humble about it.
And according to the old rumor, it only happens to the good-looking members of OB, lol. I have randomly visited other message boards, or at least used to, and it really made me realize how good this one is, especially in terms of staff quality. In other places, if some "n00b" made the slightest "n00bish" post, the staff was all over them in the most aggressive and non-constructive manner. It happened to me a few years back, heh. Needless to say, that was my only post in that forum before I returned here. When I was first asked to be a moderator of the old DragonBall forum, my immediate internal reaction was something like, "omg ... omg tat's so kewl o_O lolz..." My post quality was, of course, better than that at the time, lol. I was rather giddy, yet, as James said, completely caught off-guard. I was ever more shocked when I was asked to be a Super Moderator (now known as Team Leaders) around version 6. At the time I did not even feel fit for the job, so I turned it down. Then when James came to me again and asked me to be Team Leader for the anime area, I was just as shocked as before. That time, however, I figured if he takes the time to ask me twice, then he must think I am fit for the job. Being that I have grown to know and trust James, I put my faith in his decision and accepted the role. I still find it a bit intimidating, especially since I have had some major downtime, but I am becoming more accustomed to it, heh. It is not as different as I thought it would be. Everything I have done thus far is pretty much normal moderator work, just over a larger area. This is not to say that OtakuBoards has not had its share of staff-members-gone-wrong, or simply normal members who were rather abrasive in wanting to be a moderator, heh. I can think of a few names off the top of my head. Personally, I just really enjoy the work I do here, and the staff I work with. I think there is a fairly tightly knit, amiable community here considering the amount of members we get. I suppose this can be a rather rare aspect of message boards. I feel very honored to be where I am right now, and I am thankful for it. Never in a million years did I think I would be a Team Leader, lol. Who knows? Maybe some day I shall take Charles' spot. ^_~
It goes without saying that the visuals are utterly amazing. The Los Angeles tornado scene was very, very good, of course, but the shot of Manhattan almost entirely covered in snow and the Statue of Liberty with the ice on it remains most vivid in my mind.
Heh, yeah, they certainly did increase the dramatic impact with the visuals. Not just with how believable they were to the eye, but the way they affected their environment--especially during the tornados.
When they had that bus drop on that guy in the car, I was just like, "o_O Holy crap..." lol. And of course that news reporter getting nailed with the sign.
The part I liked most about the freeze, is probably one of the smallest and overlooked parts, but I simply like how many of the windows in the buildings shattered as they froze. You could notice this with the tornados, too, as well as small explosions happening in the buildings. Even though some parts were predictable, they would come up with something with a lot of impact to just take your mind off that part.
In the end, when they were in the helicopter and "looking for survivors," I thought the movie would be kind of lame and not take notice if there were others being saved. However, as soon as they showed outside the window, I at first just saw the other helicopters, then I looked on all the rooftops and saw all the other people who had lived. It was a very nice way to end the movie, heh.
I definitely would say people should at least go see it once. I walked out of that theater subconsciously expecting it to be really cold, lol. It is worth the money if you have it to spend.

A person does not have to know what a bishounen and bishoujo is in order to be an anime fan, lol. I never even knew those words existed until I started to stop watching anime, heh. Anyway, I ask that you at least give some legitimate reason(s) as to why a person makes your list. Not just because "LoLZ, OMG they r sooo kawaii! >_

Be sure to read the Information about Steamwood, the new Armor system, I explained Assimilation a bit better, and also the Dran system at the bottom. If you have any questions, please post them. =) The RPG should be up within a day or two. here are the maps of certain areas of this RPG along with some descriptions and what enemies are commonly found in them and what their assimilated ability is. The abilities marked with an * are active once they are absorbed and wear off after a while. Keep in mind that, on the Grillin Village/Somnolent Forest and Twinpeak Mountain maps, the thin paths are just the walk-able area. Along the side there may be heavy brush, water, or whatever else. Grillin Village/Somnolent Forest The deeper the shade of green is, the area is higher in elevation. Unless there is an arrow joining the two colors together, then you cannot reach the other level without climbing. The Legendary Brace armor is needed in order to climb. 1. Inn - The best place to get some decent sleep. Sleeping here allows your health and Bincho Power to recover fully, as opposed to sleeping outside. It cost 80 Dran to sleep here per time, and 5 hours pass every time you sleep here. [ Always Open ] 2. Bakery - Recover lost Bincho Power by eating bread and drinking milk. Bread costs 120 Dran and milk costs 70 Dran. Both can prove useful but these products will spoil if not used within a week. Water can also be bought here for 25 Dran. It does not spoil, but does not help you as much as Bread or Milk. [ Opens - 10:00 ; Closes - 19:00 ; Closed - Tuesday, Thursday ] 3. Grocery - Sells various items to increase your health such as medicines, Antidote, and Mint. Antidote is 250 Dran, any First Aid packs are 175 Dran, and Mint is 100 Dran. [ Opens - 9:00 ; Closes - 19:00 ; Closed - Wednesday ] 4. Restaurant - A place for villagers to get together and socialize. Useful information may be obtained here, but it does not help your health or Bincho Power, so do not waste money buying things. [ Opens - 19:00 ; Closes - 7:00 ; Closed - Sunday ] 5. Pawn Shop - Any items gathered may be brought here for appraisal. Certain items may prove to be useful, while others can be sold. Prices vary depending on the item. It is also a place to gamble for more Dran, but be careful. [ Opens - 11:00 ; Closes - 20:00 ; Closed - Skyday ] 6. Toy Store - A variety of action figures may be purchased here - check back often for new arrivals. The older toys are, the more expensive they become. Starting prices are 500 Dran. [ Opens - 7:00 ; Closes - 17:00 ; Closed - Monday ] 7. Bank - Store your Dran here if you believe you are carrying around too much. It costs 200 Dran to activate an account, and at least 20 Dran must be put in each time. You may also store non-perishable (do not spoil) items here for a cost of 10 Dran per item. However, only five may be kept in stock at a time. [ Opens - 9:00 ; Closes - 19:00 ; Closed - Saturday ] Enemies Grillin Village Thirstquencher Guards - They will only be armed with a sword and shield here. However, it would not be wise to attack them being that you will be arrested on the spot. Unless you intentionally piss them off, chances are they will not try to attack you. [Assimilated Ability: Stun: Temporarily paralyze some of your opponents.] Somnolent/Wandering Forest Thirstquencher Guards - Armed with a shield and lance. Very quick and very powerful. They will hide in the brush and charge out from there. [Assimilated Ability: Lance: Tosses a telekinetic lance at opponent.] Man Eaters - Little white blobs with eyes and a mouth. They can stretch their mouths open enough to swallow an entire person. Sneaky little creatures. [Assimilated Ability: Satiate: Bincho Power slowly increases for a short amount of time.]* Hop Flowers - Large, pink flowers that lay closed on the ground. When one comes too close it opens up and chases after the person bouncing on its roots. [Assimilated Ability: Hop: Able to jump longer distances, but wears off once the targeted obstacle is cleared.]* Magicians - Floating figures in purple, hooded cloaks. They can disappear and reappear to avoid things as well as temporarily shrink any opposition. [Assimilated Ability: Shrink: Temporarily shrink your enemies (about a foot tall). Squish ?em!] Sleepies - Man-sized mushrooms. They stand upright asleep until woken by the presence of another. They wobble after their prey and shake a white dust at them which makes them tired. To many hits of this and you temporarily fall asleep where they can just start hitting you. Often found on narrow walkways where it is hard to pass them. [Assimilated Ability: Sleep: Temporarily makes you very tired. All actions are reduced to a slow speed.]* Poison Plants - Scattered about the forest. They cannot move because they are stuck in their pot, but they can shoot a series of three poison blobs and stab you with their needle-nose if you get too close. While the poison blobs will not actually poison you if hit by them, they do burn the skin. [Assimilated Ability: Mint: During the period that it is active, you cannot become tired.]* Bee Plants - Found in the Wandering Forest. Similar to the Poison Plants, except that they cannot shoot poison. They merely stab at anything that comes near them. [Assimilated Ability: Perfume: Temporarily surrounded by a cloud of fragrance. You cannot be harmed by any normal enemy while this lasts.]* Hazards Thorns - Thick vines covered with giant thorns that lay across the path. Cannot be cleared by a normal jump. (must assimilate the Hop ability from a Hop Flower) Steam Leaks - If Steamwood begins to break down, some of the various pipes that run through certain areas of the forest will begin to leak a scalding steam. (must fix Steamwood) Twinpeak Mountain Pretty much just assume that any empty space is water with a current. The three light blue areas above the two mountains signify calm water, except for the middle area which is a waterfall. 1. Hell?s Valley - It was once a high security prison. It takes four switches pressed simultaneously to open the gates. 2. Aqualin - The source of all water that flows through Twinpeak Mountain. The water at this summit can help restore some health and cure any poison. Also, when it is mixed with a bloomed bud of Mysteria, a special flower found in the center of the Underground Lake (Binchotite Mine), it creates Remedy which can prevent certain things from happening ? Enemies Thirstquencher Guards - 1. Armed with a shield and lance. Very quick and very powerful. They will hide in the brush and charge out from there. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] 2. They will be armed with a sword and shield. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] 3. Armed with Bincho Guns. [Assimilated Ability: Gunshot: Shoot telekinetic bullets at your enemy. Rapid fire is possible.] Man Eaters - Little white blobs with eyes and a mouth. They can stretch their mouths open enough to swallow an entire person. Sneaky little creatures. Found on the base areas of Twinpeak. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] Magicians - Floating figures in purple, hooded cloaks. They can disappear and reappear to avoid things as well as temporarily shrink any opposition. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] Sleepies - Man-sized mushrooms. They stand upright asleep until woken by the presence of another. They wobble after their prey and shake a white dust at them which makes them tired. To hits of this and you temporarily fall asleep where they can just start hitting you. Often found on narrow walkways where it is hard to pass them. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] Poison Plants - They cannot move because they are stuck in their pot, but they can shoot a series of three poison blobs and stab you with their needle-nose if you get too close. While the poison blobs will not actually poison you if hit by them, they do burn the skin. [Assimilated Ability: (See Above)] Mosquitos - While they are not all that dangerous, they are quite annoying and can make you itchy. If it gets bad, the bites can be healed with Antidote. [Cannot Assimilate] Hazards Water - It may sound silly, but no one has the ability to swim. So falling in the water would be a bad thing. (use Water Scroll to form temporary bubble around you, or build a raft.) Long Falls - You are on a mountain path, meaning the higher you are up, the farther you can fall. Obviously if you slip off an edge and fall down a ways you are going to get hurt. (just do not fall off, lol) Water Pour - In each mountain, there is an area where you pass through a hollow area. In the hollow area is a series of landing with a gap between them. Periodically, a stream of water will pour from above which will push you down into the pool below if you get caught in it. (time your jump right between the end of one stream and the beginning of another.) Shakey Bridge - Mid-way up the mountains is a bridge connecting the two of them. However, it is very damaged with several missing wooden planks missing out of the bottom. (be careful with your footing.) Steamwood Steamwood is the source of power for the entire Allucaneet Kingdom. It is built inside a giant tree, but you would not be able to tell once inside. Within the walls is a giant cylinder structure in the middle stretching from the very bottom to the very top, and it contains an array of eight steam valves. When a steam leak bursts, the eight valves must be used to put the pressure back where it is supposed to be. They must be shut off in sequential order and the pressure is more difficult to release each time. The valves are spread out through the four levels of Steamwood and one small platform elevator is constantly running between them all, only briefly stopping at each level before it moves on. I shall control when Steamwood breaks down. Hazards Steam Leaks- When Steamwood breaks down, steam leaks erupt throughout the Allucaneet Kingdom, mainly throughout the Somnolent Forest. Grillin Village becomes fogged with the steam. Shooting out at high pressures, the steam is scalding, and can block the paths to many places. There are steam leaks within Steamwood as well which either must be jumped over, or the proper valve must be fixed to shut it off. Falling- There is only a narrow catwalk making up each level of Steamwood. Falling off would be bad, especially on the higher levels. Binchotite Mine http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/mine.gif (it is too wide for OtakuBoards, lol) Pretty much any area except for the paths at the main entrance all have paths that stand above a vast cavern. So falling would not be a good thing. Enemies Poison Sleepies - Similar to the regular Sleepies, except that their dust poisons you. [Assimilated Ability: Toxin: Feel temporarily poisoned.]* Bincho Eaters - Similar to Man Eater except that they do not try to eat people, rather their bites will absorb Bincho Power from their prey. They are not seen at first, until they drop from above. [Assimilated Ability: Rip-off: For a short amount of time, every hit you take slightly boosts your Bincho Power.]* Flyers - Pesky flying rodents. Found in the empty, cavernous areas of the mine. They will line themselves up with their prey and fly in quickly for a quick bite and fly away. [Assimilated Ability: Firefly: Temporarily surrounded by light so you can guide your way through dark areas.]* Snakes - Often found in groups rolling down the sides of the walls of the mine. They are not poisonous, but their bites can pack quite a wallop. [Assimilated Ability: Antidote: Cures any poison you might have acquired.] Fire Fish - Found in the Underground Lake and the area where the Well feeds from, the fish leap from the water and shoot balls of fire at unsuspecting victims. [Cannot Assimilate] Hazards Boulders - Continuously fall down the walls in some areas of the mine. (time yourself right, and you can get through) Binchotite Deposits - Binchotite exists in its natural state as a liquid and is very poisonous if touched. Some rooms have large pools of this with only narrow walkways to get oneself through. (do not fall in and you will be fine) Air Vent - On the map, it is the octagonal shapes between the Scrap Depository and the Underground Lake. The top shape with where the actual fan it. The blades go on and off. Do not go through it while it is going. If you are above it while it is going, you will be lifted up into the air, and left for a free fall once it stops. It is best to climb down the wall below it once it stops. (wait until the blade stops, and climb up or down the wall) Ice Palace/Thieve's Hideout http://members.cox.net/piromunkie/bfm/palace.gif (Also, too big for OB, heh.) I am going to take the time to point out that this place?s title as the "Thieves? Hideout" does not apply to characters whose class is Thief. The Ice Palace was once a fortress for a certain sanction of the Thirstquencher Empire. Obviously this place is frozen over completely. The medium blue is the main level, the light blue means it is above the main level, and that dark blue area is a Pitfall. Also, the red area straight from the main entrance as well as the spiral staircase are all ramped. Being that they are covered in ice, you cannot walk up them without the armor of the Legendary Shoes. Arrows that can be seen through an area simply means there is path under the above object. Enemies Poison Flowers - Similar to Hop Flowers, except the their hit rubs off a poison which makes a person ill. [Assimilated Ability: X-Ray: See through walls. Can be used once per assimilation.] Waddles - Penguin-like creatures with very sharp beaks. They will slide on the icy floors in attempt to ram their victim. After a few hits from an opponent, their head will pop off revealing a Bincho Gun that fires at random while it moves around at random. [Cannot Assimilate] Ice Plants - Similar to the Bee and Poison plants, except that these fire a series of three shots of ice spikes. Upon a hit, the person will be temporarily frozen in a cube of ice. Physical damage is taken by this. [Assimilated Ability: Crystal: Surrounded by a protective sphere of ice. Protects you from one hit, then it shatters.]* Kung Fu Wolves - Crazy wolf-like creatures often found in packs of at least three. They hop around in the "crane" stance like that of the Karate Kid and leap at an opponent with a mighty kick. [Assimilated Ability: Boot: An unnecessarily powerful kick.] Hurls - Giant, bipedal, gorilla-like beasts. While they do not actually bring any damage to you, they can toss you about uncontrollably into possible hazards. [Assimilated Ability: Hurl: Toss most enemies hard against the wall or any possible hazards.] Stomps - Humungous, steel monsters that look like a very small mountain. They will float in the air until something passes under them, in which they drop themselves to the ground. [Assimilated Ability: Steel: Temporarily become steel and break through certain things as well as be invulnerable.]* Clones - Geometric, humanoid creatures with no special detail to them. Upon coming within the same room as a person they immediately copy every move of that person. You move forward, it moves forward. You go left, it goes left. You jump, it jumps. It may not seem all that dangerous, but they are electrically charged and acquire a mock version of whatever weapon the person they are following may have. [Assimilated Ability: Clone: Create an unmoving copy of yourself and it works as a time bomb.] Hazards Pitfall - That dark blue area on the map. (do not fall in, or you die. Simple as that.) Ice Spikes - Impenetrable spikes of ice that stick up from the ground. Often found in large groups. (walk around them, or melt them with the Fire Scroll) Steel Spikes - Steel spikes set up in blocking a path. (must assimilate the Steel ability and charge through them.) Thirstquencher Empire Allucaneet Kingdom Armor As I said before, this is one area that has changed since the last time. I had always thought that having one real set of Legendary Armor, and then just a bunch of replica sets was a little cheap to both the Legendary Armor and the other characters whose armor would "not be legendary." Instead, I have come up with the idea of "class-appropriate" armor. Each class (Soldier, "Hero," Thief, and Wizard) will have their own unique items in treasured armor. There will be the same number able to be found for each class, only he armor abilities will be specialized for a certain class. Sound cool? I thought so, too. ^_^ Also, armors do not count as items. No Class Armor is really better than the next, it is just more fitting to a certain class. You will notice that each piece holds relatively the same functions, some which are the exact same but are just in a different piece of armor. Wizards are probably the most unique class of armor, but that is simply because they are a Class heavy on magic use. I shall explain the basic fuctions of each armor. These are listed in respect to how you will see them listed. 1. Allows the wearer the ability to climb, or ascend to greater out-of-reach heights. 2. Allows the wearer a greater jump, or a different way to get to the other side of something by a normal jump. 3. Increases attack speed, defense power, or defensive agility. 4. Allows wearer to appraise items on the spot instead of having to go back to the Pawn Shop owner. 5. Greater balance on slick surfaces, and sometimes increases landspeed (only if mentioned). 6. A piece of cloth needed to make another kind of armor. A Knitter in Grillin Village must be consulted to make it. 7. Allows wearer to sleep better outside the Inn. Also reduces fatigue, which means your Bincho Power decreases slower. 8. Increases chances at a critical hit, and sometimes grip on a weapon (only if mentioned). Also, all armors appear as normal mundane items until they are appraised. Most of the time, we will all find some kind of armor at the same time. If for some reason you want to randomly find a piece of yours, ask me first. We do not want one person getting too far ahead of the next. Legendary Armor Legendary Armor is most similar to Hero's Armor aside from a few differences. What makes the armor Legendary is that there is only one set of it, and only one kind of person can wear it: one destined to become Legendary. It is no more powerful than any other Class Armor, but it is more revered. Legendary Brace - Allows the wearer to climb with greater ease up or down steep walls, and make ranged attacks from them if necessary. Legendary Belt - Allows wearer to jump higher and with greater agility due to a double-jumping ability. Legendary Vest - Increases attack speed as well as defense power. Legendary Goggles - Appraise items by yourself on the spot. Legendary Shoes - Reduces slipping on frozen and surfaces, also increases landspeed on non-slick surfaces. Legendary Cloth - Used to make Legendary Quilt. Legendary Quilt - Reduces tiredness faster than if you just fell asleep (outside the Inn). Reduces fatigue as well. Legendary Gloves - Increases critical attack and dexterity, allowing two-hand combat with both Primary and Secondary Weapon. Soldier's Armor The Class of a Soldier is meant to be durable and powerful. They are the "tanks" of the Class system, so to speak. They are not the most aggressive fighters, but can deal a pretty strong hit, and take a hit even better. Their unique armor was created to amplify these attributes. Scaling Armlets - Increases the physical strength of a Soldier. They can lift heavier objects than most, and allow the wearer to climb. Pogo Chain - A decorative chain worn around the neck of a Soldier, allowing it to jump massive, forceful bounds. Petrified Chainmail - Permanently raises a Soldier's defense. Glasses of Worth - Stylish glasses that help identify the value of items on the spot, and, through their own magic power, never fall off the Soldier's head. Cleated Boots - Increase a soldier's balance on nearly any surface. Soldier's Cloth - Used to make Cape of Comfort. Cape of Comfort - Reduces the rate at which a Soldier becomes fatigued, and allows them to sleep better. Clasping Gauntlets - Gauntlets that, through the use of their own magic power, reduce the risk of a Soldier's weapon/item falling out of their hands in battle. This also makes for a steadier hand, slightly increasing one's attack power. Hero's Armor Hero's Armor is the most similar to Legendary Armor, being that the Legends are often the real Heroes who come from other lands."Heroes" are meant to be the head-on attacker. They are the most aggressive fighters. Braces of Ascension - Allows a Hero Class fighter to climb up and down vertical surfaces with ease. Jouncing Buckle - A Hero can jump once, and then jump once again in mid air. This extends their vertical jump by twice as high, and their horizontal jump by twice as long. Vest of Quickening - Permenantly raises a Hero's speed of attack. Appraisal Goggles - Identify the value of items on the spot. Unwavering Shoes - A Hero can walk and act on any slick surface with ease. Also increases their landspeed on non-slick surfaces. Hero's Cloth - Used to make Resting Jacket. Resting Jacket - Allows a Hero to stay awake and functional longer, as well as get a decent amount of sleep quicker. Gloves of Bane - Increases a Hero's weapon efficiency. Increases critical attack with primary weapon, and allows a Hero to use both Primary and Secondary Weapon at the same time. Thief's Armor Thieves have a tendency to "fight dirty," as some might say. They would rather sneak up and blindside their opponent than take them head-on. This is a bit understandable being that they have the second-weakest defense abilities of any class. They rely heavily on critical hits, if possible. Ring of Spiders - A simple ring worn on any finger. Thieve's are able to climb or crawl up, down, or across almost any surface, even ceilings! As long as the angle of the incline is 90 degress or greater, a Thief can also maneuver a ranged attack (with an actual ranged weapon, or simply throwing something). They cannot do this from ceilings. Leaping Brace - Worn around the shins of a Thief, a person of this class gets their jump distance doubled. Unlike Heroes who must do a double-jump, a Thief can do this in one solid leap. Battle Suit - A small piece of armor fitting over a Thief's shoulder and chest. This raises their defensive agility, decreasing the probability of them getting hit. However, if they are hit, they take the same amount of damage as they normally would. Lenses of Merit - Glasses that clip onto the bridge of the nose and stay permanently. These will help a Thief identify the worth of various items. Whispering Boots - On top of being able to cross slick areas, a Thief makes next to no noise when they move when wearing these boots. Thief's Cloth - Used to make Cloak of Tranquility. Cloak of Tranquility - Reduces a Thieves fatigue rate, as well as giving them a better nights rest. Gages of Vitality - A special kind of glove worn by Thieves, which guide their attacks to the closest, most critical area on an enemy. Wizard's Armor Wizards have the lowest defense and physical strength of all classes, but make up for it in the advantage of being able to harness Bincho Power into the Elements (Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Sky). They are masters of Bincholon, in general. Their armor displays this unique aspect and amplifies their abilities. Bracelet of Levitation - Wizards can lift themselves into the air to ascend to greater height instead of wasting strength by physically climbing. Amulet of Teleportation - Being that Wizards are not avid jumpers, this Amulet gives them the ability to teleport only themselves across short distances. Withstanding Tunic - A tunic permanently charged with defensive magic power. The damage they take from normal enemies decreases. Magic attacks hurt the least and physical inflicts a bit more. However, against a boss, this help some, but very little. Monocle of Profit - A single eyeglass that stays in the eye unless removed by the Wizard. Appraises items on the spot. Hovering Boots - When crossing slick areas, a Wizard hovers a short distance off the ground to stop from slipping. Wizard's Cloth - Used to make Robe of Alertness. Robe of Altertness - A hooded robe that reduces the fatigue rate, as well as giving them a better nights rest. Ring of Amplitude - Increases the amount of power behind a spell without any excess Bincho Power put in by the Wizard. The Five Scrolls Each scroll possesses its own unique powers and can only be freed through Lumina. (do not count as items) I shall make it so that everyone has at least some kind of access to the abilities the Scrolls have to offer. Earth Scroll - Originally found at the top of one of the peaks of Twinpeak Mountain. The Earth Scroll allows its users to create earthquakes, stun enemies, make boulders fall, among other things. Water Scroll - Originally found down a well. The Water Scroll allows its user to walk on water and shoot water bubbles (rapid fire possible), among other things. Fire Scroll - Originally found on Dragon Island. The Fire Scroll allows its user to attack, melt ice, and light some objects on fire, among other things. Wind Scroll - Originally found in a cave somewhere in the well. The Wind Scroll allows its user to create cyclones, go against strong wind, may dig holes in some places, among other things. Sky Scroll - Originally found beyond the Wind Crest in the area next to Steamwood. The Sky Scroll allows its user to fly in the air, create thunder clasps, among other things. The day of the week are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Skyday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some shops in Grillin Village will be closed during certain hours or on certain days. Tiredness - Increases as time passes. It can be reduced by sleeping or eating Mint. Sleeping outside the Inn only reduces your tiredness to 20% unless you have the proper Classed Armor. Health - Slowly increases as time passes if you have lost health as long as you are not hit by anything. Bincho Power - Decreases as time passes. It can be regained by sleeping in the Inn or your home, or partially assimilating an enemy so you get some of their Bincho Power instead of their ability. The Concept of Assimilation No one has this ability at first. This will be attained near the beginning of the RPG, though. Until then, you cannot use this ability. Rules of Assimilation Assimilation is done by touching an enemy with your weapon or hand (you could stab them if you want, heh, as long as your weapon is touch, it does not matter) and Bincho Power is concentrated through the hand or weapon to absorb the enemy. Most enemies have some ability that can be attained, other do not. Full Assimilation - A full assimilation is obviously when you assimilate your entire foe. They disappear after this and you acquire an ability of their until it runs out (if it is temporary) or until you assimilate another ability. Use of the ability decreases Bincho Power each time it is used. Partial Assimilation - If you are running low on Bincho Power, and cannot come upon any Bincholon, a partial assimilation can be used to increase your Bincho Power. You do not get the opponents ability, and they still exist after you have taken the Bincho. Finding Other Spells/Items You can learn new spells throughout the duration of the RPG. Spells can be found on anything from written a scroll (not like the Five Scrolls; actual paper) to chiseled in a slab of stone. However, the language of which the spell in written in is unreadable; not even recognizable as a spell, just scribbles. It must be brought to the Pawn Shop to be deciphered and appraised (with the exception that you have the Classed Armor which allows you to appraise it on site). Of course, if you already have you maximum number of spells you have to choose whether or not you want to substitute one spell for another. Items work the same way. They can be found throughout the adventure. Products such as Antidote can sometimes be found growing on plants. Items such as this do not need appraisal. However, if the item is an actual object, then appraisal is needed before one can tell what it is. Dran Distribution I have decided to do this a little differently than the first time. Instead of giving everyone the same amount, I am going to give each character a different amount based on Class, age, and business. It is just more logical that way, heh. Kamikasai - 0 Dran Melon Stauberri - 1800 Dran Rosalynn - 2300 Dran Gasuki Mochi - 1800 Dran San Mocha - 2900 Dran Akira Yukimura - 2000 Dran Dose Entmiss - 2100 Dran Taruto Misheimya - 2000 Dran Flik Threepwood - 2600 Dran Marya Marken - 1700 Dran -
I think the more involved an RPG is, the better. I have the style of being incredibly detailed, but I think it pans out in the end to be a positive. If and when my RPG's fail, I mostly blame it on the lack of commitment (that is why most die anyway). By making an RPG "involved," I simply mean give the players a lot to work with, not necessarily more complex. The more background information about the plot of the RPG and characters within them, the better. If a person cannot grasp the concept of the RPG, then it will go to waste. Also, the more information and effort you put into your RPG, the better members you will attract. People who are just looking for a random RPG will be intimidated by the massive amounts of reading they will have to do before signing up, heh, whereas more experienced players tend to appreciate the fact more. I am pretty much to the point where I refuse to sign up if I do not have to scroll down too far to see the sign-up sheet, and definitely if I can see it right away. o_O Anime_fangirl was correct in saying the Adventure Arena needs a "good kick in the crotch." There is a massive shortage of quality RPG's. I hate looking in the Recruitment forum and seeing multiple sign-ups for different RPG's started by the same person. They simply will not be able to divide their time between each one well enough to make it something worthwhile. Personally, I am not much of a fun of "reality RPG's," like the "Spirit Week" one you mentioned. I tried a more down-to-earth RPG like that once, and I believe it did not even make it off the first page. At the same time, however, I have grown tired of RPG's where power are huge "power houses" and large mangey beasts ... or whatever. It just gets old, especially since it is all usually the same. From my own "collection," my Brave Fencer Musashiden RPG is the one I have put the most work into ...ever. It died once when I posted it a long time ago, but I am giving it another go. I put way too much into it to just let it go, heh. That RPG was about three months in the making before I actually finished it, heh. I drew maps of select areas (this took me longer than anything ... >.>), gave visuals for certain NPC's ... I have even a couple bosses that I have drawn and taken the time to color in Photoshop so people can see what they are up against. In the sign-up thread, the first introduction post is not even the only one containing massive amounts of information. After I have chosen who goes into the RPG, I have an even more detailed post for those people to read, heh. Being that this is the second time around, I have begun pre-selecting people and telling them to go read that post from the old RPG in order to save some time when I post the new, revised one. The RPG has more than enough potential to grow, it just needs the right people. It started off incredibly well last time, I thought, with some outstanding characters and development within a short time. I hope to see the same this time around. Hrmm ... I am starting to lose my train of thought. I do not know ... Other RPG's that are quality have been Kill Adam and Zidargh's Zelda RPG. That is just lately. Given the number of RPG's that are currently "running," that is kind of sad. v_v

Well, I saw this movie tonight, heh. I was never totally gung-ho to go out and see it, but it interested me. Also, as soon as I found out Jake Gyllenhal was in it, that was a bit of incentive as well. ^_~ It was not bad. I would say it is right up there with movies like Independence Day. However, The Day After Tomorrow lacked the action-packed "people-against-aliens...ness," for obvious reasons. Pretty much all the catastrophic action happens within the first half of the movie, much like Sciros said with the whole "apocalypse" and the icy "post-apocalypse." It starts with the struggle to find out what is going on, then finishes with the struggle to survive. The special effects were awesome, believable. There were some wolves in the movie, which I am sure were CGI (at least during certain parts) just by the way they and their bodies moved. They were one part of the movie I thought was definitely lame, heh. Overall, I thought it was a very balanced movie. While it is mostly an action-drama, it does not fail to throw in a decent amount of comedy and of course a small "love story" that does not spoil the plot.
They kiss once, which I thought was unnecessary, but the movie has to appeal to all those sappy romantics, too, I guess
(not a really spoiler at all, but eh). There are some tragic parts, suspenseful parts; as I said, just well-balanced. If the chance arose to go see it again, such as some friends wanting to go see it, I would. I would give it a thumbs up.

Those are the swords Fusion and Lumina, the Sword of Luminescence, in his hands. However, he does not actually have those, yet. Name: Kamikasai Age: 15 Class: ?Hero? Bio: He is a Hero among Heroes in his homeland, which is almost surprising considering his indirectly playful, quiet behavior. His popularity does not rise to the level that Musashiden?s has, but who else could say they defeated the Wizard of Darkness? Nobody. When the news of Musashiden?s capture was reported back to them through an anonymous, but powerful ally in the Allucaneet Kingdom, worry struck the land. Their most talented fighter had fallen. One named Kojiro almost rejoiced at this matter, being an arch rival of Musashiden, be seethed in the fact it was not him who put the brave fencer away. When, in the land of Allucaneet, the rumor had spread about the creation of the Ultimate Weapon, the last existing power of the Kingdom (the anonymous ally to the Heroes) was forced to call upon another Hero atop TwinPeak Mountain. Kamikasai was warped from his life, and given the task to save the Princess, to save Musashiden, and to save their world from its destruction at the hands of the Thirstquencher Empire. Kamikasai had already proved himself a Hero in his homeland, but it was now time for him to become a Legend. Starting Point: Aqualin ( I start there, that is why it is off limits. ^_^; ) Primary Spell/Weapon: Katana Secondary Weapon/Item: [ none ] Items: Canteen full of Aqualin, Pouch with one loaf of Bread, One pack of Mint Spell(s): Bincho Shield - A protective sphere of Bincho Power that surrounds Kamikasai, and dissipates once it is hit. Against a normal enemy it provides full protection against a physical attack, and only half against any magic attack. Against any ?bosses? it provides no protection. The sign-ups are still very open. I am hoping to see a rather equal distribution of the classes. It seems Soldiers are often left out, heh, which is a shame really. They are just as cool as any other class. If worse comes to worst, I shall simply have to make due, or maybe ask someone to change their character to that class. I am already seeing people who could fit into more than one category. I will say one thing, though, those that make it are going to have a lot to read, lol. The post where I pretty much drop all the necessary information is longer than the sign-up, and I am still adding things to it; improving upon what I already had. A majority of it is the same thing as I had last time, but I am changing a few times. I am typing it in MS Word, by the time I am done I imagine it will be definitely 6, maybe even 7, pages long with a size 8 font, single-spaced. >_> (and there is still more information that will come about later in the RPG at the appropriate time, lol). That is about double the length of the sign-up post. There will be a better Armor system, another map I left out last time (it is small, do not worry), and a more logical distribution of starting money. Let us hope I do not think of anything else. o_O -

Heh, ReFlux, you might want to read up on the Classes again. I stated how many spells each one gets. Also, take notice of the caption next to the Spells area of the sign-up sheet. Elemental abilities are not attributed to your chosen class. ^_^; Which makes the whole "fire" thing very iffy -- weapon, gauntlets and all. It is a good concept, and I hate to spoil your work (as it makes up a good portion of your bio), but you should have read it more closely in the first place. It was right there in front of you. Your character can be notably skilled in the use of Bincho, but a Hero is still a fighting class. A Wizard could whoop you any day if it came down to magic use. =P So I ask that you please change your sign-up accordingly. It is pleasing to know that another fan of the game is making an effort to sign up. =) NOTE TO EVERYONE: Each item counts as one separate. Meaning if you have 2 Antidotes, those are two separate items counting toward your tally. So ReFlux, you actually have about 9 items listed. Strike Gundam has about 5 ... and Dran do not count as items. A player will be given a certain amount once they get in. Arcadia, it is always a pleasure to see you. ^_~ I am glad to have you back.
