Cosplay is a newfound passion of mine and I've always had plans for costumes, but what got me into it is how similar I look to the Bleach character Kyoraku Shunsui. I figured the outfit would be difficult to make myself so I put it off until I was finally able to convince my best friend to cosplay who is the spitting image of Urahara Kisuke. The two of us cosplayed with my girlfriend at the time who was dressed as a pendulum version of captain Yoruichi with the short hair. We all were really good fits for our characters and we had a great time at Otakon.

Hey guys, I'm on old member who hasn't been on in many many years. I've done a lot of growing up since I've left and ended up in Hawaii this past year. I'm sure almost none of you remember me, but one of my best buds back in high school got me on the boards and I'm not sure if he's been on in awhile, but he was a moderator named dark gohan. If anyone's wondering he's out in Japan right now teaching english and perfecting his japanese. Gotta say these boards have done a lot for both of us and I'm hoping to find an anime club or at least other otaku out here on oahu that I can connect with. So if any of you guys are out here in Honolulu maybe near UH send me a message and maybe we can hang out sometime.

Hey guys, I'm a really old member who hasn't logged on in many years. Anyway, I've been in Hawaii for awhile and just missed out on kawaii kon 2011. Just wondering if there are any anime clubs around town or UH. Looking for more anime nerds to watch anime with, play video games and hopefully plan future cosplays together. So if you're on oahu and anywhere near UH let me know if you or your group of friends could use another fellow otaku around.

lets see, once my little brother accidentaly whacked me in the face with a baseball bat causeing the bone under my eye to break in two places and i had temporary loss of vision in my left eye. that really hurt. i was going to write about the time i was in second grade and a really big thorne stuck into my wrist causing severe bleeding and resulting in 20 stitches, but that was so long ago i can't remember the pain. i've still got the scar though and it looks like i tried to slit my wrist or something, i really don't like it.

a soulmate is a complicated term because it suggests there is some form of fate or destiny, i personaly beleive in neither. maybe i'm wrong and there is someone out there just for me, but i think thats too easy of an explanation and theres just more to it than that. sure i beleive there is a whole lot of people in this world and that there has to be people who like the same things and act the same way. i can't help but hope i do have a soulmate out there somewhere though.

i can't say that i beleive in psychic abilities or powers because i've never been given enough evidense thats been able to sway me in either dirrection, but for the most parts i'm very sceptic about it. i just don't buy it, being able to comminicate with the dead or predicting the future with substantial accuracy. As for John Edwards, he is a very clever con artist, and about that million dollar prize for anyone being able to prove their psychic abilities i wonder why no one has stepped up to claim it...

lupin the third is a hilarious show first of all and dosn't matter if the animation is old. what is with so many people? "i can't buy this video game the graphics aren't all 3D and this anime isn't pretty enough for me to watch", bah! theres more than looks to everything, and as far as anime goes you've gotta know your roots and appreciate what things have evolved from. damn, now i feel old after all that.

the only form of martial arts i've ever done was self defensive karate when i was younger which i thought would be fun or whatnot but found very soon it was nothing but exercises which i thought to be boring considering i was a gymnast and half of that is conditioning anyway. i spared very few times based on my age, and every time felt i would do better winging the fights rather than following the style. i quickly dropped out and never persued any other serious forms of martial arts. now that i think of things in a more recent light, i would like to do some form of martial arts that could teach me some form of self disaplin and fighting style. my friend on the other hand was a top level tae kwon do student, although he rarely talks about it i've yet to seen him in a fight.

being the huge robotech fan that i am, i'm going to have to say that my favorite mechs are veritechs, and specificaly Rick Hunter's veritech, its got a nice paint scheme. Evas are cool and all, but i'v always hated shinji(see greg, i can acctualy say it!) and i'm a bigger gundam fan that evangelion anyway.

Anime I love New York!!!(About Anime Shops)
bignatedawg replied to Youko Minamino's topic in Otaku Central
i would buy my anime online if i had a credit card, and my dad will be damned if i use his, so i usualy get my anime from suncoast if i'm not buying too much. i go on mad anime sprees whenever i'm at a convention though, so thats where i've gotten the majority of my anime. -
i have seen love hina both subbed and dubbed and i've gotta say the dubbing is pretty bad and i liked it a lot better subbed, but then again i've never really cared how i see an anime. yes, i've always prefered subtitles to dubbing in most situations, but as long as it gets the story across i don't really mind.

if all anime was to just dissapear i'd probably play more guitar. i'd probably in turn play less video games since they have such a huge japanese culture influence(including anime). also, i'd probably have more money althought i'd rather have the anime. no anime would suck.

i'm looking forward to the new episodes of Big O. i only started watching the show right before they took it off toonami so i hope to finish watching the rest of the first season on adult swim. i think its a pretty good anime. i'v always thought of Big O as a japanese Batman: Batman + big mech and android = Big O

my favorite opening themes are the ones that i can't stop playing on either bass or guitar. Triguns opening theme is awesome, Tank is great, and i love jazz(rush is a good song from bebop along those lines too) and thesis of a cruel angel is great but i feel it really dosn't fit with the eva series, i don't know, seems to up beat.

i borrowed the whole love hina anime series from syk3 and thought it was really good, but the way you guys are talking about the manga i feel i'm really missing out on a lot of things. i'v also seen the spring movie and liked that, but a few of my friends had to make fun of me for it...:bawl: i can't help it if i like love hina. is that such a bad thing? anyway, my favorite character would have to be shinobu...i don't know why.
