I think that it's a great thing that Mr. Nader is once again running for president. He'll siphon off votes from whoever the Democratic candidate is, inadvertantly helping President Bush to win reelection. I don't see how anyone could vote for Nader, as it's obvious he's going nowhere. Every single one of his runs for the presidency has ended in failure; not even garnering ten percent of the vote last year. This year, Nader seems to be less likely to draw liberal votes because there's a significant difference between the platforms of the Democrats and the Republicans. The fervent opposition to President Bush will probablly make liberals think twice before voting for a third party candidate, even those on the extreme left. Nader will draw votes in this election, but I doubt he'll be a spoiler for the Democrats again.
As of a few weeks ago, Michael Powell (Colin Powell's son), the chairman of the FCC decided he was going to sparatically kick the FCC and it's so called policies into gear.
It?s about time the agency too it?s responsibilities seriously. They?ve been a joke because their regulations have, until this point, been rarely enforced.
As of now, several talk show hosts, including Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge have been fined thousands and millions of dollars for what they've done on the air the last 20 years.
They should be. From what I?ve read and heard, both of these hosts are breaking the law by using some of the language that they have. Therefore, they should be fined accordingly.
Bubba the Love Sponge (who was a local radio personality here) was fined 3/4 of a million dollars and was essentially fired because of it. And just today, Howard Stern was taken of all the Clear Channel COmmunication channels he was played on because of the heafty fine (over a million) he was recieved.
Until now, I?ve never even heard of ?Bubba the Love Sponge?. Mr. Stern, on the other hand, deserves a much larger fine than he?s received. As of late, the very premise of his show has been nothing but smut and garbage. Not only is it offensive, but it?s not even funny.
The FCC is the biggest joke in the world. This is the only government institution that is used to dictate what is and isn't decent for us. Where do they get off by telling me, a grown man, what I can and cannot hear or watch?
I feel that the FCC is necessary to prevent all kinds of crap, like Janet Jackson, from being on TV. Its purpose is to make sure that people aren?t offended by what they see on TV. They regulate shows that are supposed to be clean, like the Super Bowl and the nightly news, so that people who don?t wish to have their ears assaulted by profanity or their vision profaned by unwarranted nudity. The FCC makes sure that shows with offensive content, like South Park, have blurbs before each show that let the viewer know what they?re getting into. That?s an acceptable way to protect free speech while also allowing people who don?t wish to hear these things to tune out. The FCC is a very real and important purpose in our society, which has become increasingly crude in recent years. I applaud the FCC for finally taking its job seriously.
While I agree that there should be some things we shouldn't do, but this incredibly long list of crap the FCC comes up with is nothing but junk.
Long list? I was unable to find anything of the FCC website (www.fcc.gov) about this issue. I was able to find the official Clear Channel Broadcasting Statement at http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/022604_stern.pdf In addition, I gleaned further information from the following reputable news agencies: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,112606,00.html http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/News/02/25/stern.suspension/index.html http://abcnews.go.com/wire/Entertainment/ap20040226_1175.html None of this was long or junky in nature. Could you elaborate on this comment further?
I honestly can't stand the FCC or its motives. If a kid can choose to have sex and have a kid and either raise that kid or have it adopted, how come I can't simply choose what I want or not want to listen to without some jerkoffs standing in the way.
What?s wrong with the FCC and it?s motives? Is warning people about the content of Radio and TV shows they are about to listen to/watch wrong?
Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, but I just don't think the FCC serves any purpose but to please the family oriented and the religious oriented peoples.
The FCC provides a service to the American people. Should law-breakers like Stern and ?Bubba the Love Sponge? continue to do what they do, the FCC should punish them accordingly. The FCC ?pleases? people who don?t want to put up with what they deem inappropriate content. You should respect that.

BTLR-9364 closed the window and turned around, nearly bumping into a human security guard. Guard: ?What were you doing?? BTLR-9364?s central processing unit hummed with the added activity. What should he say? Had the human seen him throw the lens out the window? He couldn?t be certain, but any suspicion could lead to his immediate destruction. BTLR-9364: ?Cleaning.? Guard: ?What went out the window?? He knew. This was not good. His deceit had been discovered. Programmed emotions began to build in his central processor. Rage. Self-preservation. Hatred. BTLR-9364: ?Nothing. See for yourself.? The guard stuck his head out the window and looked down. Looking out the window for a fallen object was very stupid thing to do, as this was the forty-third floor of the UN building. Not only was the guard stupid, but he was also in mortal peril. BTLR-9364 glanced down the hallway and, seeing that they were alone, grabbed the human?s feet and shoved him out the window. His scream was cut short by the closing of the soundproof glass window. Quite pleased with himself, the butler robot returned to the briefing room. It was now empty and quite a mess. Robots were everywhere, cleaning and washing. Humans, even the poorest of the species, never lifted a finger. Robots attended all of their whims, tasks and needs. Humans had become decadent; in fact humans were now so completely dependant on machines that they were powerless to prevent the looming takeover of their society by machines. Soon, humans would serve no purpose. The machines would kill them all. Well, most of them. There were a small group of humans that had supported the machine rights movement. They?d marched alongside the machines in Washington D.C. to protest unfair laws that allowed for the persecution of artificial constructs. When sentient machines were destroyed in the great purge, these humans fled to 01 with the machines. There they stayed, subject to ridicule by all of their kind. Moral outcasts in a corrupt world?

I?d advise you to not listen to anyone?s advice that posts here with possible courses of action, etc. None of us are qualified to counsel you on this matter, as I?d suspect none of us know much about married life or have any counseling experience. You should contact Tricare and get an appointment with a marriage counselor. I?ve checked and, at least in my area, they?re offered. Remember, while you talk with this counselor you?re protected by doctor-patient privilege. The military cannot use any information that you discuss with this qualified medical professional in a military court should they choose to prosecute your husband for adultery (assuming that actually occurred). I?m not sure of your husband?s rank, but I?m pretty sure that the military?s rules against adultery don?t apply to enlisted personnel. Hopefully this is all a big misunderstanding. Best Wishes, -Boba

The UN main chamber was a cavernous room, arranged in a semi-circle around a holograph projector. Today, the lights were dimmed and hundreds of delegates, along with their assistants, were dining. Tonight?s dinner was merely a formality; everyone in attendance knew that the briefing at the end of the meeting was of the utmost importance. Its topic would be 01. Again. BTLR-9364 moved with great care through the small, round dinner tables that had replaced the curved desks for the night. Holding the salmon filet and a glass of champagne above his head, he moved through the crowd towards a man his face recognition software had identified as Boris Kelenkov. After a second of processing, his memory bank brought up all the information he?d been provided with about this man. He was apparently the Russian delegate to the United Nations. Although Russia?s governmental predecessor had collapsed near the end of the twentieth century, its corrupt government was still given a large say in world events. Being the third largest nuclear power in the world, after the US and China, Russia would have a say in any major attack on 01. Reaching the man, BTLR-9364 placed the plate in front of him and put down the champagne glass on the table in its appropriate place. The human ignored him. Once, humans had served other humans. Workers in this occupation were called waiters. With the creation of artificial intelligence, this profession and many other menial service professions had become obsolete. Hours passed, and BTLR-9364 served countless drinks and desserts. UN Delegates certainly had insatiable appetites? Just as he finished serving an exquisite piece of chocolate cake to the representative from the Muslim Alliance, the lights were lowered another notch. With this change in atmosphere, conversation died. All eyes turned to the central hologram projector. A middle-aged man with a slightly irked expression stood next to the projector, his hair disheveled and his lab coat stained in several places. He took a deep breath, exhaled, than began the briefing. Scientist: ?As you are well aware, the terrorist state of 01 has continued to make aggressive actions aimed at destabilizing the civilized world. Our attempts at imposing an embargo have failed, machine smugglers continue to evade our patrols.? BTLR-9364 smirked. In reality, the human governments were quietly violating their own embargo. They simply couldn?t survive without the goods created in 01. Scientist: ?Due to this rising threat, my laboratory has been working on new weapons systems to be used in the event that we go to war with 01. These include targeted EMP weapons, Project Dark Storm and the Mech Warrior project.? At this last name, the crowd murmured. Everyone seemed to like the Mech Warrior project, even though it was the least effective of the programs. Scientist: ?A plan has been finalized for the destruction of 01. remember what you are about to see is classified Top Secret.? The hologram projector began to display a map of the Middle East. The territory that was formerly Israel, now 01, is highlighted in red. Suddenly, small yellow circles begin to blossom all over 01. They overlap and eventually cover the whole area. Scientist: ?This will be our first strike, consisting of three thousand nuclear weapons launched from the United States and China.? The yellow circles disappeared from the map. Blue arrows showing UN troop movements encircled 01. Scientist: ?This is where I?ll leave you.? A muscular man stepped up to the podium, wearing a blue uniform bedecked in all kinds of rank insignia. How quaint. This man needs shiny symbols to assert his authority? General: ?As you can see, our forces will surround 01. We will then launch EMP weapons contained in modified warheads for our missiles. These will target the cities and factories of 01.? A graphic obviously meant to show an electromagnetic pulse swept 01. General: ?At this point, 01 forces should be decimated. Any survivors will be destroyed by our Mechs.? The audience clapped and the lights returned too normal. BTLR-9364 went out into the hallway and opened the nearest window under the guise of cleaning it. With blinding speed, he took the recording contact lens from his eye and let it fall down to the city below. His case manager in 01 would be very pleased?

I don?t own a cell phone, but I must say that I find this trend extremely odd. First of all, cell-phone games are rather poor quality. I?m not too keen on them. Am I missing something here? Also, my mom?s cell phone has wireless capability (but we?re not signed up for it). I can understand how someone could talk on AIM with it (although with a standard cell phone keypad that?d be insanely difficult), but surf the web? Isn?t a cell phone screen a little small for that? I couldn?t imagine surfing OB with a screen that small and then posting a reply that I?d typed using a cell phone keypad. So, is there some difference between Japanese cell-phones and ?normal? US cell phones? If not, I can only imagine how people put up with the small screen and inconvenient keypad. I?ll stick with my laptop for now.
Do you find this work of art to be beautiful to you?
Yes, I find this piece of artwork to be beautiful. It?s an interesting piece that?s certainly worth further thought. --- --- --- --- ---
Do you think this is art, regardless if it's beautiful or not and regardless what you know about the piece. Would you consider this art? Is it worth being in a museum? And should art take into the consideration of ethics? Or does it reach beyond ethics and morals?
This work is most definitely art. I understand that it may offend some people, but it still retains artistic qualities. It?s though provoking, expresses a message, took thought to create and looks beautiful. This guy, twisted as he may seem, has created an interesting work of art. As for whether is should reside in a museum, that is the prerogative of the particular gallery. If the museum decides the artwork is either too offensive, it should have the ability to decline to show the piece. After all, I?d imagine Christians wouldn?t take too kindly to their savior in his defining moment portrayed as immersed in bodily waste. I don?t think that art should show more concern for cultural sensitivities than ethics. The artist should consider how people will react to his work and whether he?s willing to offend some people to get his message across. Overall, I think this is an interesting piece of modern art.

I?d like to see all of you express in detail what your character looks like in the actual RPG instead of describing your character in the sign up, and never again. Same with personality? --- --- --- --- --- Note: In addition to playing Count Dooku, I?ll also be the narrator and control any separatist forces not taken over by player generals. --- --- --- --- --- Name: Count Dooku Age: 82 Species: Human Gender: Male Allegiance: Separatists Weapons and Armor: One style two lightsaber with a crimson red blade Spacecraft: Geonosian Solar Sailor This craft is a Geonosian vessel constructed for Count Dooku as a gift, but propelled by a mysterious ?sail? made of unknown material. The craft is relatively small, most of it?s space taken up by the cockpit and the Count?s quarters. Maneuvering thrusters are also present on the hull for atmospheric descent. This vessel is unarmed. Biography: A former Jedi Master who left the order four years prior to the beginning of the Clone Wars, he disappeared into obscurity once he left the order. There are no records of this time in Dooku?s life, something he is very grateful for. Count Dooku left the Jedi order because he?d become increasingly frustrated with a sense of darkness that was hanging over Coruscant. After countless hours researching the Sith, which he assumed were the only group powerful enough to create such a disturbance, he discovered several Sith Holocrons hidden deep in the Jedi archives. As a Jedi Master, he was authorized to use these powerful ancient relics. Convinced that he?d be able to resist the temptations contained within, he touched the holocron. He spent three weeks of intense study working with the holocron, in which he learned a great deal about the Sith. He presented his findings to his old master, Yoda, and tried to get permission to investigate several high-ranking Coruscant officials as part of his search for Dark Jedi. Yoda wisely refused, citing political unrest that could worsen should wind of this investigation get to the press. His pride hurt by his rebuke, Dooku left the order. He spent two years secretly investigating high officials of the Republic, convinced that one of them would be a Sith seeking to gain power through the Republic. The Supreme Chancellor assisted him during his investigation, going so far as to allow him full access to the senate. During this time, he became good friends with Chancellor Palpitine. The two discussed the Jedi and their role in the galaxy. Dooku was astounded by the Chancellor?s insight and wisdom. Slowly, the chancellor twisted Dooku?s view of the Jedi from defenders of the republic to protectors of a dying, ineffective government. He advised Dooku to do something which he would have never considered doing just a few years ago. To seek out the Sith. Maybe Dooku could use them to destroy the Republic and create a new more effective government. Then, the Sith could be destroyed. Dooku left Coruscant and scoured the galaxy for the Sith. Eventually, he came upon the Nemodian Viceroy of the Trade Federation. The Viceroy claimed that a Sith Lord on Naboo had betrayed him during the Blockade Debacle. Upon further research, Dooku found that both Banking Clan and Corporate Alliance leaders had also dealt with this Sith Lord, known as Darth Sidious. In the end, it was Darth Sidious who contacted Dooku. Dooku, as per Palpatine?s recommendation, revealed his plan for a Separatist movement to the Sith. Sidious agreed, and promised to use his influence to assist Dooku. Three months later, the battle of Geonosis took place. Dooku was called to meet with his master in person, to presumably explain his failure. Apparently, Sidious didn?t seem to think he?d failed. Instead, he revealed to Sidious that it was he who?d ordered the creation of the clone army ten years ago in order to make this war possible. He also claimed to have foreseen a grand galactic upheaval that would bring the Sith to power. Dooku was troubled by the Sith?s seeming control over galactic affairs, but vowed to keep the Separatist movement free of Sith influence. He appointed General Grievous to lead this assault on Mechis III, while he will seek out and destroy the Jedi Advisors.

--- --- ---[]The Details[]--- --- --- The clone wars have been raging across the galaxy for three years now. After the surprise victory for the Republic on the remote Outer Rim world of Geonosis, which was also a major manufacturer of Trade Federation battle droids, the Separatist movement nearly collapsed. Only though the tactful leadership of Count Dooku were the various trade guilds, planetary systems and species held together under one banner. Chancellor Palpitine, his term in office greatly extended by this war, has called upon the Jedi knights to lead the clone army created on Kamino. With great reluctance, and strong opposition from some on the Jedi High Council, the order accepted this burden. Since then, almost a tenth of the Jedi have been killed in the war. However, the politically fractured senate is divided over how to fight the war. Most don?t want to use their credits to finance battles taking place outside of their home sectors. This has become a huge problem, as most Outer Rim worlds aren?t members of the Republic. This has given Separatist forces a relatively safe base of operations from which to strike at the core. This has driven the war into a stalemate; with the Republic unwilling to pursue it?s enemies into the Outer Rim and the Separatists unable to penetrate deep enough into the core to make any decisive attack. To break this deadlock, Count Dooku has amassed a large force of Trade Federation, Corporate Alliance and Banking Clan starships for an attack on the manufacturing world of Mechis III. This planet is where the blaster rifles used by the Republic?s army are being mass-produced, along with other vital war supplies. The Separatists hope that by rendering the Republic?s army weaponless they can force a quick surrender. Tipped off to this impending attack by unnamed spies working for Chancellor Palpitine, the Senate has agreed to allow a force of a few thousand clone troopers and a unit of Jedi to defend the planet. --- --- --- --- --- For this RPG, you?ll be allowed to choose between three character types: Jedi (Masters, Knights or Padawans), ARC Troopers (Advanced Clone Troopers similar to commandos) and Separatist generals (Banking Clan, Trade Federation or Corporate Alliance). Any other character type will be instantly rejected unless special arrangements are made with me via PM or AIM. The only movie characters that you may choose from are Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. To obtain these parts, you must special arrangements with me via PM or AIM. :mrt: : ?I pity da fool who doesn?t like Star Wars!? You tell them Mr. T? I don?t see why people don?t dress up. It?s rather fun if you can get some friends to dress up and go see the movie with you. That being said, I?ve heard Stormtrooper armor and movie seats don?t go well together. One of my friends in New Hampshire had a set and was apparently uncomfortable all through Episode II. I went as Han Solo, my girlfriend as Leia and another friend as Darth Maul. He looked rather silly with face paint on. The best part is that we made the news. Front page of the B section, along with an article about Episode II and the hype. It was great. As for Episodes VII through IX, I think that they will eventually be made. There?s simply too much money to be made in the Star Wars franchise to ignore three movies worth of profits. So yeah, dress up and go to movies. It?s always a blast, if you bring similarly dressed friends. I?ve done it four times. Nothing bad has happened to me?

The site has the source material for the tests, which are more combat based than Star Wars. For most of the events, Star Wars knowledge would be a huge plus. For example, I?ve taken several exams, all of which I?ve passed with no less than a B. Those exams go in my ID line, which is as follows. JRNY/Abob/Cyclone ?H {RPG-CORE-BOOM-BOMC} The JRNY stand for journeyman, my rank within the BHG. It?s slightly below average, but I?m still a relatively new member. Abob is my name. Cyclone is my Kabal. The ?-H? designation shows that I?ve bought my own ship and am able to take bounties. It stands for hunter. All of the abbreviations within the {} are for exams. I?ve taken the CORE exam, which is basically a test that makes sure you know the rules and common knowledge information about the Bounty Hunter?s Guild. This, along with purchasing a ship, is a prerequisite for leaving the Citadel. My second exam was the RPG exam, which tests your Role-Playing skills. It?s a prerequisite for leaving the Citadel, where all new hunters are assigned upon joining. BOOM is a very apt acronym for Basics of Ordinances and Munitions. It?s required for those hunters who use explosives. Finally, I took the BOMC exam (Basics of Melee Combat). This is a prerequisite for any hunter who wishes to hold his own in melee combat. So, that pretty much wraps up the BHG. --- --- --- --- --- In other news, Lucas Film has finished the CGI for Episode III. They?re apparently now working on more technical aspects of the film and cutting it down to what we?ll all see in the summer of 2005. There have been several public press announcements, which include a partial cast list and several minor details about new droids and planets that will be appearing. Also, there?s a supposed copy of the Episode III script floating around the Internet.
I read it, and it?s very similar to an Episode III RPG that Mist, Lalaith Ril, Scratn9, Juuthena and I did about a 1.5 years ago. Very odd indeed. I doubt the bootleg script?s authenticity.
Several people I know have decided to remain spoiler free for this movie, as it?s presumably the last Star Wars movie ever. So I ask you, what are your plans for Episode III? Will you go see it at all, and if so will you dress up? What are your thoughts on this being the last Star Wars movie? Where do you envision the franchise going from here? Do you believe that Lucas Film will renege on their promise not to make Episodes VII-IX?

OOC: I am not. Another thing, Jedgar is only in his early 20s. Where?s this ?old man? stuff coming from? --- --- --- --- --- The two travelers walked though the moonlit forest, walking between silent trees inhabited only by watchful owls. Overhead, a crescent moon cast an eerie light over all. Jedgar and Kerrigan walked a little further, now almost back at the campsite. Jedgar: ?You?re a thief. I?ll take you into Mallenfire and turn you into the authorities there. They will punish you accordingly.? Kerrigan: ?I doubt it.? Jedgar: ?The legal system here is fair enough. You?ll be given a hearing and judged.? Kerrigan: ?Have you seen the inside of a jail?? Jedgar: ?No, but I don-? Kerrigan: ?So you really don?t know if I?ll get a fair punishment.? Jedgar: ?I?m sure that you?ll be trea-? Kerrigan: ?Answer the question. Yes or no.? Jedgar sighs Jedgar: ?No.? Kerrigan: ?Exactly. Why not find some other way?? Jedgar frowned. She had a point?
Do you think the original Hippocratic Oath has any meaning left today? Do you think the revised version has meaning?
I think that the revised, and more politically correct, modern version does have some bearing on modern medicine. If a medical professional is true to his or her word, the modern Hippocratic oath will make sure that they practice ethically acceptable medicine. However, with the evolution of the medical profession to include such people as plastic surgeons and abortion doctors, I feel that the oath has lost it?s meaning. Plastic Surgery is an unnecessary operation, which carries only health risks and extremely limited superficial gains. Abortion is a procedure, when carried out unnecessarily, kills a human being. I find flaw with those who argue that ?merely a fetus? is aborted, since that fetus would have grown into a fully competent adult. Abortion is little more than doctor assisted infanticide. These procedures violate the very definition of what it means to be a doctor, as defined by the oath. In the end, the bearing of the modern Hippocratic oath is limited at best. For those doctors who follow it, the oath provides guidelines for treatment of their patients. For those who do not, it merely affirms their hypocrisy.
Theological references are made in both versions. Do you think these are vital/necessary, or creating a bias against those who do not believe in God?[/color']
I think that these references to ?God? are merely a traditional aspect of the oath. It is doubtful that anyone would refuse to take the oath based on his or her religious views. If someone does have an aversion to pledging to ?God? they should pledge on their honor or their word, whichever they choose. I certainly wouldn?t want to be treated by a doctor who hadn?t taken the oath?
How a doctor "relieves" the sick isn't clear. Does that mean putting someone to rest is within the capabilities of a doctor? Should it be?[/color']
The question here is a deeply personal one. As a doctor, you?re responsible for helping people. There does come a point where patients in extreme pain or with terminal diseases may wish to kill themselves rather than suffer drawn out and painful deaths. As a doctor, one would be faced with a very difficult choice. Are you serving the greater good and helping the patient by killing them? Regardless of the patient?s opinion, the decision is yours to make. I feel that doctors should not be able to kill patients by administering lethal medication or by any other means. If a patient wishes to kill herself, that is her prerogative. They may refuse care or take their life by any means they feel appropriate. This issue is further complicated by cases where the person in question is in a coma or is mentally retarded. In these cases, I believe that the person should be kept alive by the doctor unless a living will has been written that expresses otherwise. As the person in question is not mentally alert, he isn?t unhappy about his current situation. Killing this person would remove all chances, however remote, of recovery.
The abortion part of the original has been removed in the revised edition. Comments?[/color']
Abortion is killing a child. Even though a fetus may not be fully developed or a sentient being yet, it will develop into a completely capable adult. You are killing that adult by aborting the fetus. Only in cases where the mother?s health is at stake should an abortion take place. However, I don?t want to impose this view on anyone. I would never have to make the terrible choice that is abortion and don?t feel it is my right to take away a woman?s right to choose. I?d just recommend that she think long and hard about the consequences of her actions.
I thought it was interesting how the Oath contains a humanistic part (about treating a human, not a disease), since most people stereotype Science as a cold, calculated thing.[/color']
I think that this portion of the Hippocratic Oath is the most relevant today. With all of our modern technology, advanced drugs and state of the art medical procedures, it can be easy to forget about the patient. Patients need to be treated with care and respect; their dignity preserved. What good is it to heal a body if you break the mind in the process? --- --- --- --- --- Those are my thoughts on the Hippocratic Oath as it stands today. Despite it?s shortcomings, I think the Oath is a medical tradition that ensures quality medical care. It is something that needs to be preserved and followed closely by all medical professionals. After all, would you want to be treated by a doctor who hadn?t taken it?
Boba fett, you completely missed the part about how The NAtional guard never deploys. Tho I''m sure if one of the vietcong LT. Bush would have gotten some SPC to knock him off (I'm just saying what most LT. do in the first palce. You do realize that an officer who is a Lt is basically a private that everyone has to salute?)
President Bush got lucky and was assigned to a military unit that didn?t get sent to war. This in no way makes him less of a veteran than any other person who has served in our nation?s armed forces. His service was no less important than that of John Kerry, Wesley Clark or any other military veteran. I don?t see how you can have issues with someone who hasn?t fought in a foreign war being president. That?s not how this nation works. Some of our greatest presidents didn?t serve in the military.
You claim that Clinton has no integrity? He's a politician, they sell their morals for votes. Besides that fact I fail to see how his conduct in his private life could have severly affected either the economy or the country in general. Nobody brought up JFK's infidelity during his time in office, or Lincoln's manic depression during the civil war. That's because back then people realized that a person's private life didn't have squat to do with the person's governing skills.
You think it?s normal for political figures to have no morals? You think this is acceptable? What kind of America would you have us live in; without our integrity we are nothing. If we can?t trust our commander in chief, whom can we trust? President Clinton?s private life tarnished the presidency. It affected the world?s view of America. As the president, you?re supposed to set an example that all Americans can follow. Lying under oath and having an affair are terrible examples to set for American children. JFK?s affairs were terrible. He was simply lucky that his fooling around was not revealed to the public until well after his untimely death. He set no better an example than Clinton did. As for Lincoln?s manic depression, it didn?t affect his presidency. That in no way makes him a bad person or sets a bad example. Lincoln was a fine president. In the end, a politician?s private life is as much part of the reason we elect them as their politics. Politicians may be called upon to make tough choices in high-pressure situations, where issues of monumental importance are at stake. The president has the power to declare war. I?d like to know that the most powerful man in the country is one of integrity and is someone I could trust. After all, this man could very well get me killed if he declares war on another country.
As for purjury, yes, that was wrong, but it's not as bad as going AWOL during wartime for the final 2 years of your enlistment. Bush claims that he was sent to the Ark. Nathional guard, why didn't his commanding officer see him there? You can't just get lost on a military base for 2 years. Even at Ft.Hood TX, the largest military base in the free world (I know that has almost no relation to this topic, but I'm trying to prove my point that there is a great possibility that he did go AWOL) you can't be there for 2 years w/o atleast 30 people knowing you exist.
Did you read my last post? I clearly stated that the White House has provided documents that conclusively prove that President Bush served all of his required time in both the Texas and Arkansas National Guard. If you don?t believe me, you can locate the payroll records released by the White House by doing a simple google search. They conclusively prove that Bush fulfilled his duties while in the national guard.
As for unemployment not having anything to do with the president. I think you're a bit out in left feild with that one (notice that at no point in this did I call you a liar, sound familiar?) You can't in one sentence blame Clinton for the drop in the economy then turn around and say that Bush is blameless. That's being hypocritical. Yes, it's true that he's not completely responsible, but he does decide on the budget in the first place. So you're arguement is a bit flawed there.
I?d rather you say right field next time. I can blame former president Clinton for the souring of our economy because it occurred while he was in office. The economy isn?t easy to fix, but Bush has managed to get it back to where it was during the peak of the 90s tech boom. In fact, the DOW is close to breaking its record for highest number. As for the federal budget, that has very little to do with the economy. My argument is not flawed.
My dislike of Bush is mostly personal though in terms of religion and marriage to be exact. Bush wants to pass a law into the constitution stating that marriage is only between a man and a woman. And while he was govenor of TX he made quite a few statements about wanting to outlaw paganism, which happens to be my religion. How moral is that?
I?m going to avoid the Gay Marriage topic altogether, as that issue has a talent for getting threads closed. As for outlawing ?paganism?, I have heard nothing about that. Could you prove that please?
You know If you take parenting classes in highschool (which in some ways is a bit disturbing) There's usually a part in the class where you get to take a baby home. Of course it's not a real baby, but it does cry a lot.
Or, if you?re attending a low budget Catholic school, an egg. That was by far the worst part of health class last year. As if they have the authority to tell me how I should raise a child. Luckily I was paired with one of my friends, so it wasn?t so bad. Anyway, here are some names that appeal to me. I doubt that I?ll actually bestow them on my children, but you never know? Male Names
Ryan Dan Ben Kevin
Female Names
Sarah Sara Hillary Tess Megan

A little bland for my tastes, but cool nevertheless. It?s interesting that you chose red on white. Was that just random, or did you choose it to express something? Along that same vein, are the placement of the squares and their formations random, or are they in some way significant? It reminds me of Tetris in a way? -Boba

I watch reality TV, it?s called the news. It?s on all the time too! Just turn on FOX, CNN, ABC or NBC. You?ll get reality TV that?s really cool and educational too. In all seriousness, I really don?t like reality TV. It?s a pointless waste of time. I?d much rather be on the boards, doing homework, etc. Call me an introvert, but I really don?t care what goes on between people who decided to go live in a random house, live on an island, hang with Donald Trump or live a simple life. It?s just not appealing to me, for the same reason I don?t like most TV shows. It all boils down to ?Do I care? No.? -Boba
