We have kids in this forum, don't you remember?[/SIZE']
Hey, if DW can have Shinmaru run around naked on a quest for a porn site... It's probably ok to knock Santa. I posted this on MyO a little while ago, and I think it's rather funny. However, I'd never let my little brother near it. The whole Christmas experience, complete with Santa Claus, is something that all children should experience. It's a very special, heartwarming thing to watch them discover what Santa brought them. So while it's all good and well for us older kids to laugh, keep it away from the little kids. Remember your childhood, and don?t deny them the same experience.
 7.
Don't know about you, but Sky3's depiction of himself reminded me of the Anti-Christ that the Virgin Porcupine gave birth to, in the latest South Park episode. You know, "A special time, a special place, it's time for Critter Christmas...Hail Satan!" :D
Blood Orgy! Anyway... I loved it. For a simple animation like that, it was absolutely fantastic. The humor was right on, and I really enjoyed the entire thing. *wanders off to put his head back together again*
 8. She's mine The bell rang. He walked her to her next class, nervous. They turned the corner. Finally, he overcame his fears and asked. His entire world had completely, irreversibly changed.
 9.
The first day the U.S bombed Iraq, a civilian was killed.
While it is always regrettable when an innocent civilian is killed by US forces, such things happen in war. The US government and it?s armed forces take every precaution within reason to prevent such terrible accidents from occurring. Many of these measures put troops lives at risk. In the end, we?re doing our utmost.
When the assasination of Ahmed Yaseen was carried out, it really wasn't neccesary to send a missile directly at an old man in wheelchair.
Yaseen was a disgusting, racist and utterly evil man. He was responsible for dozens of suicide bombings and linked heavily to several terrorist organizations. Whenever he appeared in public, he was surrounded by crowds (and deliberately children). Israel?s decision to kill him was appropriate, and the deaths of those around him regrettable. This was something that had to be done, period. In my opinion, he got off to easy. As a final note, I?d like to add that the Palestinian people should be the very last to criticize America for failing to protect innocent bystanders. Suicide bombers deliberately target civilians. I know you don?t support this, but it happens. If you?re worried about protecting innocent people, you should start there.
 10. I voted US for the poll, although I move every two years because of my dad's job. We've traveled around quite a bit, including a two year stint in Perth, Australia. I'm currently living in New England, and I think I'll be going to college in California.
 11.
If we aren't the patrolman who will be?
Since when did America become the world's police? If anything, we should be retreating from such an active role in world affairs. While isolationism isn't acceptable, we shouldn't be stretched out so thin militarily across the globe. America needs to look out for it's interests around the world. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why should we be any different? We feel the need to help better civilization across the world.
We shouldn't interfere through use of force unless it's imperative to secure US global interests or unless invited by that nation. Otherwise, it's none of our business. If anything the US needs to give out less aid. We pour money into Africa, the Middle East and various other troubled areas of the world, while we still have problems at home.
And when people decide to attack us for it is their own fault that something may happen to them.
May? If someone attack the United States, they better expect some trouble.
\We don't like to see children starving on the street due to a civil war between the people and some rich idiots who want control of everything.
We should try and work with other countries to mediate such disputes in other countries, or provide aid to those being oppressed if it comes to that. Stepping in militarily and telling another country how to run it's affairs is not only risky to our troops, but makes us look like a bully. Imagine if France had decided the American Civil War was so terrible that something had to be done, and sent troops to suppress both sides. It's better to let nations settle their own affairs than to intercede, unless there's a threat to our security/interests.
We try to help others people. We try to bring order to the world so a small conflict doesn't explode and turn into World War III.
It's not our place. Pure and simple.
 12.
I'm not sure who's supposed to "validate" anyone's input here... As for having those older white guys decide certain things for us, I think they do have a place to decide *certain* things. But not everything. And certainly not something completely without their realm, so to speak.
By this logic, you'd have separate authorities and bodies of government for every different section of the populations. After all, how could a young person possibly know how a senior citizen feels? Or white congressmen possibly understand his minority constituents? That's a load of garbage. Deathbug beat me to the punch with the "former fetus" line, which I think everyone really needs to think about. A fetus, like a child or a teenager, is a stage of life. To terminate a person's life, you'd better have a damn good reason. Abortion, at whatever stage in a pregnancy (brainwaves or no), is murder. Only in cases where one life if pitted against another, where the mother is in severe physical or emotional danger as a result of her pregnancy, should a child be aborted.
How many people here eat scrambled eggs? This question does relate to the topic at hand, too.
Yes, often. I do draw a line between the fetus of a chicken, and that of a human being.
 13. You should see what happens when I drive the speed limit or, god forbid, two or three under. I?ve had people blow past me, honking their horn and swearing. It?s pretty nasty out there sometimes. Solution: Make everyone else use public transportation?
 14.
First of all, I didn't scream. Second of all, I don't know who comes up with these lies about honour killings but that definetly doesn't happen in Islam. 15.
Funny how in Turkey, women aren't allowed to wear hijab to work. Muslim nation my ***. That's oppresion right there, but America doesn't do anything about that. America only supports countries it gets along with, even if they are clearly oppressing their people. Israel being a great example. A very "stable" and "uncorrupt" nation it is indeed.
So let me get this straight. You scream about a moderate, stable Muslim nation and it?s ?oppression? of women. If I were you, I?d be more concerned about Palestinian women who?re killed by their families after they?ve been raped, because apparently their family?s honor was shattered by the woman (through no fault of her own). Then you ask why America doesn?t do anything about it. Yet you think America should:
Honestly, just GET OUT!
Right. This will no doubt infuriate you, but it?s the plain and simple truth: Israel doesn?t target civilians. You need to realize that, see the bias that?s being presented to you, and reject it..
Anyway, if you want an example of the Ideal muslim country, the Ottoman empire would be a good example. It was tolerant of other religions, allowed people of other faiths to practice their religion freely and protected everyone living in the empire.
Two words. Armenian Genocide.
 16.
Do you belief that abortion is right and should be kept as a legal practice? Or do you belief that it is effectively discrimination against the weak and murder.[/SIZE']
I disagree with abortion except in cases of rape, incest and possible life-threatening complications for the mother. With all of the birth control and sex education out there today, I feel that there's no excuse for having an abortion besides those I listed above.
 17.
Israel is an illegal nation that oppresses my people. None of those soldiers are innocent, and quite frankly I am happy when they die. When one of their soldiers decides to empty his weapon into a small child, I know these soldiers and the Israeli government has no sense of morals. Serves them right for killing palestinian civilians in cold blood. Killing of Israeli civilians, I've already mention dozens of times I don't support.
You and I can both reel off the names of those on each side (and the middle) of this debate. Too bad this thread isn?t about Israel, or Palestine.
America chooses to specifically target Arab and Mulim nations far more than others.
Last time I checked it was Middle Eastern Arab nations who harbored the terrorists and the anti-American sentiment that was responsible for 9/11. I recall Palestinains, Iranians and Saudis dancing in the streets. As has been said before, I know these are not a majority of Muslims in the region. That?s exactly why the US is targeting only the small extremist minority of Muslims who will stop at nothing to destroy America.
God, do you even know how much money America gives to Israel every year, let alone its military? While there are "bad guys" on both sides of the palestine Israel conflict, just because of a select few suicide bombers on the palestinian side, America decides to label our entire race as terrorists, and continuously supports Israel, and ILLEGAL AND RACIST state.
I know that it?s a significant sum, yes. America supports Israel because it?s not corrupt, it?s stable and it?s citizens respect America. Turkey is the only Muslim nation that I can think of that falls into the same category. The other Middle-Eastern Muslim nations, if they fit those criteria, would probably become allies of the United States as well. It has nothing to do with Religion.
Since when did I "jump for joy" when Americans die? Honestly, what kind of monsters do you take us for? Maybe Osama bin Laden thinks that way, but most muslims don't think so. I wonder why some even move to the U.S in the first place? Obviously this idea that muslims hate American comes from the propaganda the media spreads about muslims. I don't hate Americans in general. But I do recognise the government as anti-Islamic in some sense.
You?re one to talk about propaganda. As I recall, it was you who warned against discounting what Al Jazeera has to say.
 18.
First of all I never said America deserved terrorist attacks, but I know we all know what led to them.

We have our own culture and religion and maybe if you kept you're noses out of other country's business' you wouldn't have all these terrorist attacks coming at you.
Sure sounds like you thought America deserved these terrorist attacks.
Second of all, the poll is a nationwide poll, so I think it should be taken seriously at least to some extent. Although, the American government probably won't start just restricting Muslim's rights, it's quite surprising what nearly half of Americans think due to what they see on the media.
Nationwide polls too can be downright wrong. I wouldn?t put any stock in one of anything, be it a poll, scientific study or anything else of that ilk. Until you have several polls leaning that way and some corroborating events, it?s pretty silly to even give junk like this a second chance. You think it?s suprising what American?s think because of what they see in the media. I?d ask you to think the same way about Muslims in the Middle East. Everyone is affected by the media, the real question is how many of us fall for every sensational story designed to provoke a reaction and keep us through the ad break.
If people do recognise the difference between normal muslims and Islamic extremists, then why would the want to restrict the rights of average muslims living in America? The media obviously isn't showing Islam in a positive light.
?There?s no news like bad news.? The twenty-four hour new networks need stories to fill space for every hour of the day. They gravitate towards sensational stories that provoke reactions from their viewers, and those are not calm speeches decrying extremism. It?s much more interesting to see car bombs blow up and terrorists getting gunned down in the streets. Don?t put too much weight on stuff like this. It?s going to happen, and it?s not going to make a difference with regards to American civil liberties.
Well, actually, it isn't Isolated incidents. They constantly raid homes at night and arrest innocent people and take them to live in horrible conditions in their prisons. I'm not just talking about those nasty photos, which by the way included photos of the soldiers raping women, though those are too graphic to be shown on T.V. The soldiers haven't been punished properly though. Just dismissed form their positions. That's not enough for what they did.
The US doesn?t decide to raid the home of random Iraqis for kicks. That?s silly. If there?s reasonable suspicion that those in the house are involved with the terrorist attacks against US troops and/or the Iraqi government, they?ll go raid the house and arrest anyone involved with said activities. You?re talking like the US is setting up concentration camps in Iraq because we have nothing better to do. Stop watching Al Jazeera and get a grip. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. That?s incorrect. The soldiers involved in the incidents you have mentioned were dishonorably discharged and given jail terms.
As for the rape, take the word of some the female prisoners. It's not as if the soldiers let people see this out in the open.Maybe it's because the media chooses to ignore it. That seems like a better explanation to me.
You think the New York Times would pass on a chance to expose a story like that? Yeah right? The only allegations of rape I can recall were brought up in the US, and the photos used in that claim were later attributed to a porn site. Lets see some real evidence, not just hearsay. What you?re doing is spewing libel.
How about when America poses sanctions on other countries?
Every other country on earth imposes sanctions. Why, when America does the same, is it such a big deal?
How about when America tries to prevent other countries like Korea from developing nuclear weopons when they themselves have nuclear weapons?
Let me make sure if I understand you. You?d trust North Korea with nukes?
How about when America thinks it's above the U.N rules and wants to use landmines in Korea even though they are banned by international law?
Rest assured, I?m sure that if the South Koreans didn?t want us there, that they?d tell us to get out.
? How about when America uses depleted Uranium, when it's also banned, and has led many Iraqi babies to be born deformed?
Depleted uranium rounds I agree with you on. Despite their effectiveness, they shouldn?t be used on the battlefield.
And what good has America done in Japan? How can wiping out two cities each in a matter of seconds be regarded as good?
Since when has anyone said that dropping atomic bombs on Japan was good? It was necessary to end a World War and prevent further US casualties. At the time, the radioactive effects of atomic weaponry were not known.
Although America has done many good things, like aiding third world countries or even saving the people of a country form cruel leaders, as they do sometimes in Arab countries, why do they always end up killing innocent muslims in the process?
You try conducting a war without civilian casualties. If you?re worried about innocents being caught in the crossfire, you should be talking to terrorists. They?re in the habit of killing civilians on purpose, so I hear. As for that list of UN Resolutions, is there a site on which the sponsors of those resolutions and their full texts can be viewed?
 19.
I can't believe this! 44 percent of Americans think that muslim American's rights should be restricted.
Get a grip. It?s just a poll, and I?d bet money it?s inaccurate at that. I?ve seen this statistic floated around on many message board in the last few days, and I haven?t found a single person who actually agrees with that 44%. Polls are often inaccurate, take for example the recent exit polls for the American presidential election. It?s not a gospel fact. Such a thing wont happen. Calm down.
That's disgusting, and it's all thanks to the propanganda the news spreads about muslims; only showing those radical extremists who commit horrible acts not in the name of Islam, but in spite of Islam!
We do. At least on FOX and CNN, plus CSPAN, I?ve often seen statements from moderate Muslims decrying the acts of barbarity committed in the Middle East in the name of religion. It?s true that there?s a lot of anti-Muslim bias in the United States. However, I really don?t see it very much in the mainstream press; it?s a huge stretch to say that there?s a significant amount of propaganda on the news over here. Americans aren?t stupid. We realize there?s a difference between your average Muslim and Islamic extremists, no matter what that crazy poll says.
Meanwhile you never hear about radical Rabbis who tell soldiers in Israel that it's perfectly acceptable to kill the innocent palestinian civilians. You never hear about the torture the Iraqis face from the American soldiers, or about the girls being raped by them. So you're "liberating" us huh? Oppresion and occupation is liberating us, and neither is Americanising us.
You?re right on the first point, I?ve never heard anything like that. I feel that is largely due to the difference in number between Islamic and Jewish extremists (Not to mention the difference in activity). Torture from Americans? Isolated incidents, sure. The American military aggressively polices it?s own, and does it?s utmost to prevent situations like Abu Ghraib from occurring. Such events are not only disgusting to the American public at large, but are fully investigated and the perpetrators dealt with accordingly. As for rape? Show me a [strike]unbiased[/strike] news source that I can trust, and maybe we can talk.
We have our own culture and religion and maybe if you kept you're noses out of other country's business' you wouldn't have all these terrorist attacks coming at you.
It?s statements like that which make me want to shut off my computer and bang my head against the wall. First off, you tell me what America has done to deserve:
1975 Jan. 24, New York City: bomb set off in historic Fraunces Tavern killed 4 and injured more than 50 people. Dec. 6, Jiddah, Saudi Arabia: terrorists storm the U.S. consulate killing 5 before being subdued by Saudi security who killed five of the militants.
America has made mistakes, sure. We supported the Shah of Iran, we supported Saddam, and we financed Bin Laden when he fought against to Soviets. We?ve also donated more money in aid to other countries than any other nation. Funny, I don't feel very smart for wasting nine and a half minutes of my life on this test. :)
I'm as smart as Shinmaru. *is not sure whether to be pleased or distraught* ;) I wouldn't put too much weight on these though, without hard work even the smartest person will go nowhere. I know plenty of smart people who don?t apply themselves and are bested time and again by those who are motivated.
 23. It's a Post Kill Adam world, people. The mouse minimized the window, and opened up Word. Hands swept across the keyboard in a pink blur, pounding out carefully worded sentences and concise conversations. Erasing, rewording, editing with extreme care were done with much agitation. Finally, it was complete. But it still lies filed away, far from notice, for the author lacks Photoshop.
 24.
there are actually people who come out of the prison system in countries besides America reformed.
The American prison system works. We may have the highest incarceration rate of any developed nation (three times the norm), but the US has the lowest overall crime rate among major western countries that report statistics to the United Nations. We keep people in prison because they are a danger to society, and the statistics show that this works.
I agree that there aren't people fit to live in society, but does the fact that we deem them to be unfit give us the right to sentence them to death?
If we incarcerate them, they become a danger to other inmates. Cold as it sounds, I?ll sleep better at night with these wackos dead and buried.
"To make sure they never hurt anyone again.[/i']" an interesting sentiment, does locking them away from the rest of their lives not solve that problem ?
Take a look at the violent crime rates inside prisons, and then talk to me again.
 25.
I believe that anyone who does commit a crime, no matter how terrible deserves a chance to be rehabilitated and rejoin society.
Tell that to the parents of dead children killed by ?reformed? ex-cons. There are some people out there that aren?t fit to live in society. They are a danger to the public, and to other inmates in prison. The death penalty makes sure that they never hurt anyone again.
