If you wouldn't mind taking a look at some of my art posted on The O, I would be much obliged.

Even if you don't have anything constructive to say, I won't mind. :)
And if you want to post a link to your gallery or whatnot, I'd be more than happy to drop by.
I started taking it seriously because my friend was amazing at it and he drew me a picture in 3rd grade and I really liked it. I wanted to be able to do that.
I think it also happened because I didn't (and still don't) really like people and so I usually drew when I didn't feel like drawing.
It interesting to compare the standards and safety features applied to oil with those of nuclear energy.
Despite the fact that nuclear energy is cleaner, less expensive, and doesn't require being moved, it has more laws and regulations applied to it, supposedly to prevent something like the Chernobyl disaster on 1986 from ever happening again. Not even taking into account the fact that Chernobyl was not caused by the energy source itself but by the economic neglect from the collapsing Soviet Union, one should note that the Exxon-Valdez disaster happened only three years later to similar reactions.
The only thing this leads me to believe is that governments truly are ruled by oil money, which is foolish and detrimental to both the economic and political health of the country but now the environmental side too.
If the Chernobyl disaster and the regulations resulting from it where not motivated by personal interest, ie. keeping oil in control, then why where more rules not given to oil-transport related industry after the Exxon-Valdez incident only three years later?
Has anyone heard of or like the band Phish?
They're back together and touring again at the moment so I am wordlessly excited.
I've loved them since elementary school, at least. :)
Anyway, if anyone likes them or is looking for album recommendations or has something mildly constructive to say, that would be boss.
I'm in a band called Whalebone Carson, there are two other main people besides me but when we play live (which is practically never) we generally recruit like 10 of our friends to help us.
We're kind of a techno-dance-trippy band, we like to play music to aid people's brains and we try to be as odd as possible.
I think we might have a myspace music profile around here somewhere but idk if anyone updates it. I certainly have nothing to do with it, anyway, and I don't know the URL...
I also have done some solo recordings on violin as a classical player.
Well according to Last.FM "I'm into indie, rock, folk, singer-songwriter and female vocalists,"
I'm also a big fan of Avant-Folk and the New Weird American movement, punk, techno, trance, classic blues, classic indian, yé-yé, and a whole bunch more.
I'm currently listening to Me Gustas Tu by Manu Chao -- the band is highly recommended.
Quoth Last.fm: "Manu Chao is a French Latin folk singer of French and Spanish (Basque/Galician) origin." He also sings quite a bit in English as well.
He's very talented and pretty well known in France; specifically Paris as that's where he's centered.
