Plot has got to be one of the main things for me in determining a good anime series. Also, the more unique the plot, the better. Cowboy Bebop is a good example of this. Dislikes...well there are two things that will automaticly make me turn away from an anime. One is repeating series, such as Gundum. Don't get me wrong, I loved Gundum Wing when it came on, but after the forth or fith series, it got to be a little monotonous. The other thing is kiddied down anime such as Hamtro and Hello Kitty. These have cute merchindice but bad plot for people our age.

At my old school, we really got in to spirit week. They had days like color day and dressup day where you dressed up to your class theme. Then on Friday, everyone would be in the gym all day for Spirit Day. But at my current school its way different. This week happens to be spirit week and one of the best things was 80 min lunch periods all week. Today was our only dress down day though. Tomorrow before the game we're having a big party in the school parking lot and a car decorating contest.

Dude, that reminds me of how I kept getting sick last May. I think it has something to do with my alergies. First I got a fever. Then I got a bad head cold. Then I got leringitis (I think thats how its spelled). Finally I got strept throat just in time for exams (I still had to take them too). Anyways, it sucks being sick. I hope you get better soon. Well I've experinced something like the freshmen 15 when I stopped taking PE. Anyways, I'm a senior in hs right now so this is a big thing for me right now. I'm most likely going to end up at Louisiana State (LSU). A good portion of my family has gone there, they have a good science department, and everyone I know supports the Tigers.

Anime The Utter Confusion (Boy or girl?) Inuyasha related.
Soliel replied to Cocomi Myojin's topic in Otaku Central
Well the first time I saw shippo, I thought he was a girl and some of my friends, saddly, thought Inuyasha was a girl. Its definatly something to do with the long hair. -
Thanks a ton, guys. That info really helped. I'm submitting my proposal on Thurs. I'll know next week whether the club was approved. If you want to know if my club got the OK, click on the link to my page on MyOtaku. I'll post my news there.
Orininally posted by Harry What are you talking about? The Confederate flag doesn't symbolize freedom at all. The confederacy had nothing to do with freedom in the slightest. The freedom to keep on enslaving people? The freedom to keep the aristocratic system they had so they can keep the poor poor? To say it symbolizes freedom is laughable at best.
I couldn't agree with you more. I've lived in the south my whole life and I'm just sick of seeing that tired old thing. I live mostly in the city, where I don't see it that much. But in the counrty, its everywhere. My own father and brother think its traditional, but my mother and I think its disgraceful. I mean, why would you want to remember a war your ancesters faught and lost, just because they thought it was right to enslave and morally degrade fellow human beings. I don't know about you other southerners, but I'm ashamed of that part of my haritage

I'm trying to start an anime club at my high school. In order to start a club, you need to provide evidence that the club has educational benifits and prove instrest in the student body. I've already gotten the minimum number of people needed but I need help making anime look good educationally. So far the only thing I got is that its culturally enriching in that your learning the language and culture of another country. Can someone please help me out with this?

Ever sense my older brother invited me into his room to watch DBZ one summer several years ago, I've been hooked. I'd be lying if I didn't say that anime has changed my life. I now have a good entertaining way to occupy my time and my artistic skills have florished. I now feel like I want to share anime with everyone.

I had to put a lot of thought into this but Sango from Inuyasha has got to be my favorite. I like her because she's a girl but she can still hold her own in a fight. I love charactors like that, but Sango is my favorite.

There was an Anime and Manga club at my old school, but unfortunately I had to transfer schools my Jr. year and my school curently has no such club. Worst yet, many of the people I first met didn't even know what anime was (they called it cartoons or 'japanimation') Then I met someone into anime and we came up with a plan: to start our own anime club. At my school you have to have at least 7 people to start a club. Last year this was a bit of a problem, but this year there seem to be a lot of freshmen into anime. Later this week I'm going to talk to the vice principle to see about a teacher moderator. I hope to have our first meeting soon.

This is a very hard question for me to answer sense it incudes my two favorite intrests: Anime and Music. But after listening to all of my MP3's I guess I have to say the opening theme for Sailor Moon Stars. Anyone who has seen the subbed episodes should know what I'm talking about. I chose this one because of the beautiful lyrics and up beat melody. A close second would be "Let me be With You" from Chobits for the same reason.

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
Soliel replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Nothing gets me more pissed off than parents who complain about violence (or other content) on cartoons. Even more so than minority religions who complain about crap like saying "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. The point is if they really want to stop, or better yet, prevent, their children from watching shows with adult content is by nipping it in the bud. How well this might actually work is beyond me because I have two of the most over-protective parents in the world, and I was still well versed on shows like South Park and Ren and Stimpy by age 8. But if they really don't want their kids exposed to violence, they can simply get rid of their TV. -
I remember when it came on Toonami. Then they started to show it before I got home from school so I couldn't watch it. :bawl: Then they canceled the show completely. :flaming: CN can't do anything right! I just started watching Sailor Moon Stars and I think its the best one yet. But what I can't believe is that CN actually said in the FAQ section of its website is that it showed all of the series. I guess its too bad it will never be dubbed

This is true. I once encounteed a girl who really liked Sailor Moon. But she was surprized when I told her it was originally from Japan. :wigout:

Please people:rolleyes: lets keep real human body perportions in mind. And of course its not going to look exactly like the anime. I'm curious to know the plot and who will play who. I think it should be good because if you think about it, recent cartoon-based movies like X-Men and Spiderman are or look really good thanks to special efects. But :flaming: if they have the actors wear wigs that look exactly like their character's hair like those DBZ halloween costums  :flaming:  that is just too corny for my tastes
originally posted by SSJ PUD I am sure the quote was "The son Goku never knew" so it could have meant never met him but might have still known he existed. I could be wrong but i am almost positve.
Actually it said that "he is the son Goku never got to see". This just proves an already known fact that Goku never saw Goten before the Buu Saga:blush:

In my anime club at my high school, we watch uncut subtitled anime. This is because we saved up enough money to get a DVD player and the teacher who lets us use his room for our meetings is really cool. But sadly I heard that this teacher would be retiring at the end of the school year:bawl: I hope that this isn't true because if so, we won't be able to watch as much anime as we do now if the club even stays intact. :p As for the animes that we watch and when we watch them, we have our meetings during lunch (our whole school eats lunch at the same time) :tasty: and we are watching Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040:whoops:
