1.
I doubt anyone really minds. You might get some good-natured ribbing ("I thought you had perfect vision, Naruto! What happened?"), but I don't think anyone would begrudge you the ability to see. =] If it does bother you, there are some characters that do wear glasses (or masks), and you could always take that route. Or carry around a book and go as scholarly, alternate universe version of your character.
LOL that's a good idea, I'll definitely consider that and thanks, your comment made me laugh :animesmil
i have an astigmatism and nearsightedness giving me glasses thick enough to block bullets.... but i could still take them off for a day and see enough to get by, why not just look the part and take out your specks when you really need to see perfectly.
cuz I might lose them, plus I want to SEE all of the con (without running into walls lol)
 2. wow you PAINTED this? It's so awesome!! I would kill to get one :D
 3. I am in the middle of watching several anime xD right now I'm focused on Dragon Ball and Code Geass
 4. what are your opinions on people who cosplay, but have to wear glasses? ...okay how do I put this, I mean when someone cosplays but they wear glasses, so they have to wear glasses in the cosplay (when the character does not call for it) do you hate it? not care? or does it annoy you? I was just wondering really because I do want to cosplay (whether I will or not is debatable and depends on money I dont have at the moment) but my vision really sucks so I have to wear glasses (new contacts and convention dont scream a match to me xD)
 5.
Any success stories yet?
not yet, but after looking at sevearl "how to" sites on chocolate, I am starting to think that just melting it, is not wussy in the least! LOL
 6.
Every year or so I go on a Megatokyo binge and read all of the comics that have come out since I last visited the site. Days in Megatokyo are really, really long.
me too, though I usually just read the books. I'm not that found of reading manga on the computer.
 7. Okay, so I just read this a little while ago, and to tell you the truth I was a little dissapointed... It might be because I have read the other volumes so much, that this change of script is just something I didnt want, but whatever the case, I think that they changed Haruhi's character too much.. I also just rewatched the anime again recently if that affects my odd opinion also, so tell me, did you like or dislike v. 13?
 8.
A friend had given me a cacao fruit and I saved the seeds because I wanted to make my own chocolate. I placed the seeds in the laboratory oven for a week and crossed my fingers (hope no one got high carbon signatures in their samples). Once they were dry, I roasted them in our stove then cracked them open. Et voila! Cocoa nibs! A single nib already smelled like chocolate heaven.
now way!!! that's so crazy lol
 9.
I never read this particular manga but a lot of times they can't use real names due to copyright reasons, so they use close substitutes that people will be able to recognize.
that's true, but in Japan pocky is just a general thing, like pizza or pretzels. ( I think so anyway)
 10.
"Briefcase backpack" turns up a few results on Google shopping. The cheaper ones (~50 USD) are advertised as laptop bags, but it looks like more or less the same thing to me. If you really wanted, I'm sure you could find a suitable bag at a thrift store and modify it to be used as a backpack.
yea but my modifying skills are *cough cough* not the best in the world
 11.
It sounds like you want to try something between "harvest my own cocoa beans" and "turn disk-shaped chocolate into heart-shaped chocolate." As far as I can tell, making chocolate from scratch is a pretty labor-intensive process. There doesn't seem to be a way around it. But, if you want something easier that still lets you have some control, you could try this: Buy some baker's chocolate. Chop/break it into pieces and melt it down (some directions here; the double boiler method is probably best). What you'll have is a dark, melted, sticky, bitter gloop. Melted chocolate can be finicky, so be gentle with it: you do not want it to come in contact with water. Now add stuff. You'll want sugar, and probably a lot of it. If all you add is sugar, you'll have plain dark chocolate. But you can add other things, too. Dried fruit. Cinnamon. Cayenne pepper. Peppermint oil. (Probably not all at once! Pick one or two things to try per batch.) Messing with chocolate like this is kind of a trial-and-error process, so you'll want to start out with more chocolate than you actually want to finish with. Try things in small batches, experiment, have fun.
thats actually a great idea :) thanks!
 12.
I used to have a bag kind of like that but I have no idea what happened to it. I'm rather fond of my messenger bag, though:
that is cool :)
You're not the only one!:animesmil But I prefer the clunky ones. Seems like it'd be easier to carry lots of stuff in. Although most of the clunky ones are so cute that they look like they should be carrying a pokemon or something in them instead of school stuff.
true, but I never see those backpacks in manga, so thats probably why i dont want one as much. They are cute though. It annoys me that american text books are so big and heavy cuz the ones in Japan are small and perfect for that backpack, there is no way I could actually use that bag for school, but its soooo cool
 13. okay, I just finished volume one of this manga (loved it sooo much! hilarious C:) and I was wondering why they call what i assume is pocky, "picky" o.o
 14. okay, here's another of my posts of curiosity. I really want to make some homemade chocolate for Valentines day this year, but I have no idea how to go about it. At Michaels, they have chocolate that you can melt down into molds, but I would not call that homemade chocolate! I mean, you didnt DO anything. It mostly just made me mad D:< but I looked up 'homemade choclate' and supposedly you need alot of odd equipment, but they dont need it in anime....(although anime tends to also defy gravity and the laws of physics, bend the space time-continuim, and all else, entertain me!) Has anyone ever made any before? It doesnt have to be from complete scratch, but I dont want to just melt choclate :( Please help!
 15. Okay, is it just me or does anyone else sometimes wish they had one of those backpacks like in those mangas? Such as Ouran High school host club, code e, Gals, kare kano, ultra cute, azumanga daioh, and many many more. I am not talking about the larger lumpy looking ones-not to say that they are not nice, but just that they are not what I am referring to. I am talking more about the breifcasy looking ones. I would post a picture, but i couldn't find one TT^TT Hopefully most people know what I am talking about though. does anyone know where to get one? or more about what they are on the inside? they might just be empty..but I feel like they probably have organizers or something. YAY I FOUND IT! how did that happen ;;^_^ anyways, here is a pic :) -feels really dumb- you can buy it here- http://www.jlist.com/PRODUCT/MKY001 but it's like $200 O.o
 16.
Aside from the normal stuff you'd bring anywhere overnight, throw the following in a messenger bag or backpack: -snack foods. This is really important because you can end up blowing a lot of cash on food. If you're staying at a hotel and you get a fridge in your room, bring stuff to make sandwiches. -bottled water. -sketchbook/notebook. -PSP, Nintendo DS or something else to entertain you if you're in line for one of the larger events -camera and batteries -list of things to buy -no more than $100 dollars. Leave the rest of your money in your room, and if you find something expensive just run back and get it. If your bag is lost or stolen your money will be spent/eaten/gone when you recover it. This happened to a friend of mine at a con and she lost around five hundred dollars.
wow that really stinks :( I'll be sure to be careful. Hopefully I wont have to wait in line since i sprung for the vip badge, but we'll just have to see how it turns out ;;^_^
 17. man I am so annoyed!! In march 2010 they are coming out with Ouran high school host club the complete dvd set for like $50 or so (at least at Rightstuf anyway). I would usually be really happy about this, but I asked for season 1 part 1 for xmas already and it cost like $40... If i had known that was gonna happen, I would have waited :0 SIGH. well at least it IS coming out. Complete sets are nice c:
 18. I might be getting a little ahead of myself, posting this now considering the con is in June, but I did anyway :animesmil Just to let you know the pre-registration vip and ultra-vip passes need to be paid for before Dec. 31st or it cost more to do... It's $6o for vip and $110 for Ultra-vip, regular pre-registration is $35. I am soo excited to go because it is my first convention and VIC MIGNOGNA IS GOING TO BE THERE!!!! That's one of the reasons that I am going in the first place (the others being that it is only 4 hours away, and starts on the last day of school) I want to cosplay, but the chances are getting slimer and slimer xD anyone else going? ^__^
 19.
Are you going to be staying at a hotel during the con? Or are you going to be going to and from each day you plan on going? If you are staying at a hotel, then there is quite a bit more you need to bring, but here's the stuff I usually have on me during the con:

Messenger bag
Camera
Various items such as tape to fix potential at-con cosplay breakings
Cellphone
Wallet
Not much, I know, but I don't like to be weighed down. I usually bring money for food and the like, rather than carry it, but that's just because I want to only have to carry a small bag that doesn't interfere with my cosplay. In terms of money, it depends on several things. Once again, are you staying at a hotel? Are you bringing food, or are you planning on eating out? How many meals will you need to pay for if you are eating out? Also, have you already paid for your con badge, or do you need to buy it when you get there? Other than food and badge money, I can't think of much that is necessary for spending. Everything else is just dependent on how much you want to spend. One of my cons, I spent around $80 on merch, whereas my last one I only spent about $20. So basically, go through each day you plan on being at the con, and think about what you may need. The key things are: hotel, food, cosplay, and merchandise.
I am going to stay at a hotel, and will probably eat out quite a bit since we are staying for about a week (going to places other than the con, cuz my mom wants to use it as a vacation and my other sibs arent that fond of anime..)
 20. I read the manga for that, but i didnt really get passed the 2nd book. I wasnt really into it.
 21. I really want to go to a con, but I wont be able to go to one until next year :animesigh Even so, I want to make sure I am totally prepared. What do you usually take with you when you go to anime conventions? how much money do you spend?
 22.
Two of my favorite anime are Azumanga Daioh and GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class. Both are 'school life' and comedy. GA is centered around art and was actually a little educational. I really enjoyed both of them! :animesmil
I loved azumanga daioh, so hilarious!
 23.
If you like school life anime then be sure to check out Lucky Star and possibly Lovely Complex. The second one is a romantic comedy where the first is just a group of friends going to highschool. Both are definitely worth watching if you like that type of anime.
I have been meaning to watch Lovely Complex and i heard lucky star is really good :)
 24.
Toradora! and Clannad are my favorite high school series of the past few years -- Clannad even stretches on into the characters' adult years, if that interests you. Both are funny series with a great cast of characters and solid drama. But if you watch Clannad, I guess you should know it numbers nearly 50 episodes since it has two seasons. Also, a random thought: Has OB ever had a dedicated anime suggestions thread? I kind of think there has been one, but I can't remember off the top of my head. But it might be helpful to keep the suggestions in one place, if the mods were so inclined.
Thanks, I plan to try those as soon as i get the time ^^
