I read this awhile back and now I want to buy it, but I wasnt sure if it was still going or not. I looked and it said there were 10 books, anybody know for sure if it's finished or not?

I watched all the new episodes and It was okay. There were some key things that were edited, like Konahamoru did a "cute jutsu" instead of a sexy jutsu and you could barely tell what he was because of the clouds, but that's not as annoying as how they barely ever say the word "kill" anymore. Kakashi says something along the lines of 'to get these bells you have to come at me trying to destroy me' instead of 'kill me' and there are other cases too. I think that the word destroy and kill are very different things. and considering that there is actually death in Naruto, it's kinda stupid to replace it with destroy. but that's just my opinion. All and all, it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

For me a comforting anime would probably be Ouran High School Host Club or Kodocha hands down. Both are hilarious and entertaining. Comedy is comforting for me most of the time.

I haven't watched that many animes because I don't have that much extra time, and reading a manga takes me like 15 minutes. I like "school-life" anime alot. I saw Ouran high school host club, Special A, and Code E, mostly because there were short. but even so. anyone have any suggestion? :)

I hate it when there is a recap episode when you really don't need one and when they prolong a suspenseful moment with a filler -_-
Team Rocket was good. They aren't really serious anymore and inplus..the anime blows now.
very true! Originally, they were at least more interesting, now the anime is just monatonous.
It's now Disney XD. Besides, I'd like to kick Hannah Montana (and all those "consumer lifestyle" characters') @$$es from here to eternity and back.
Ditto!

Did anyone else see the commercial saying that Naruto Shippuden was going to start on Toon Disney? Isn't it like 16+? I can't imagine Disney having an older teen show, and I fear that they might pull a 4kids butchering session.

Kare kano. It barely covers any of the manga and certainly doesn't do it justice

Manga Manga Novels (as in books based off manga, etc.)
HopefulOTaKu replied to HopefulOTaKu's topic in Otaku Central
I would suggest The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The anime is completely faithful to the original novel, so if you liked the anime, there's a pretty good chance you'll like the novel, too.
thx. I'll have to try that :) I ended up choosing a Code geass novel and i cant wait to read it! -
Does anyone know of any good manga novels? I have seen the Naruto ones, but they didnt look very good. My teacher said that I could use a manga novel for a book report, and I intend to. I have also seen the kenshin one, but I havent read that yet. Anyone hav any suggestions?
Kind of wondering about all the Bobobo-Bobo-bobo hate. The nonsense extreme randomness kind of grew on me and I like the fact that it is making fun of the show Fist of the North Star(which I guess is supposed to be the idea for the classic bad anime). Speaking of which, I don't exactly hate the show Fist of the North Star , but I can't really get past the theme " I poke you, now you go boom" deal.
When my brother first showed my Bobobo my response was pretty negative, like what the freak kinda show is? but the more i watched it, the more i got into it. It IS really hard to follow, but it has some really hilarious moments. Bobobo isnt an anime with a deep plot, it's a comic relief kind of anime, and you really cant compare it to anything else. It's one of a kind.
What genres are you into? Checking MAL and similar sites may help and give you an idea of what to watch.
A few I would suggest are Tsubasa, Code geass, gundam, and in the way of shojo anime, Special A, Gakuen Alice, or Ouran High school host club.

I bought the Trigun Dvd Box set from a person online and I think it might be bootleg, but i can't really be sure. It has all 26 episodes on 3 discs and I think it's all regions, which leads me to believe that it is. Plus, the cover is just a plastic clear sleeve like thing that I also got on my Aishiteruze Baby box set, which i now know IS a bootleg. I looked it up on Amazon and the picture given looks identical to my box set. Does anyone one know if this-http://www.amazon.com/Trigun-Collection-Episodes-1-26-3-DVD/dp/B000VSTTXA/ref=pd_cp_d_1 is a bootleg? I really would like to believe it's official because i really hate bootlegs, but I guess it's my fault for not asking the person ahead of time. never mind. It IS a bootleg. sigh. am i supposed to delete this thread when I am done with it? I don't really know how XD

Gaming anime dating sims for girl players?
HopefulOTaKu replied to HopefulOTaKu's topic in Noosphere
On JBox, there is a non-hentai for-girls computer game called Yo-Jin-Bo that you might be interested in. Even though the company that makes it went out of business, the site offers a download purchase instead. I've heard good things about it. Otherwise, there are plenty of untranslated for-girls games out there like Tokimeki Memorial (DS, PS2, etc), Harukanaru Toki no Naka De (DS, PS2), and Fushigi Yuugi DS. Good luck!
Thanks, I'll check that out ^^ sadly i cant read Japanese so i couldnt really play untranslated games xD -
not sure where to put it, so i'll ask here.
i'm looking for an amazing otaku store in the U.S. i don't know where else to make this topic though. anyway, if anyone knows an awesome otaku store in the east side of the U.S. (near virginia.) please say. My record has to be 4 days. When i went on "vacation" last year, we were out for like 4 days and i learned something. I CANNOT sleep in hotel rooms. or at least not on the beds. It may have been because i was sharing a room with my mom and I was just uncomfortable without the privacy of my own room, but whatever the reason, i stayed up all 4 nights and was basically dragged around all day. Not a fun experience. I learned from that trip that Mountian Dew is your ally.

New Members: Introduce Yourselves Here
HopefulOTaKu replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
Ohayo! I am a new member here ^^ My hobbies are reading, playing tennis, watching anime, and trying asian foods. Some of my friends used to call me a Japanophile (is that a real word??) because I am so interested in Japanese things. I first got into manga when I was in 6th grade i think. A friend of mine forced Clamp School Detectives on me, and after that i was hooked on the art, style, and storylines of manga. It wasn't until a little while ago that i seriously got into anime. ummm...what else..? I'm a girl, 14 years. I live in Virginia. My experience so far with this site is awesome :D God, it's so great that people dont think I'm crazy for making anime references TT_TT Nice to meet you all!! -
When i was younger a friend of mine forced me into the manga/anime world and I got obsessed. When i changed schools late on, no one there even knew what it was, so I tried to get some of the girls into it. I tried to figure out what each person was most interested in, like if they were fond of comedy, action, horror, romance, etc. It turns out, they are fond of cute anime guys. Go figure xD It was really easy after that and really fun too.

Gaming anime dating sims for girl players?
HopefulOTaKu replied to HopefulOTaKu's topic in Noosphere
There is a rather nice one that is geared more towards girls and isn't a hentai, named Angelique. However it has only been released in Japan. Which is a shame since it's a fun series of games for this type of deal.
That sounds really fun actually. I really wish it had been translated, but it says that it might in the future, so i guess it's something to look forward too. Thanks for you help ^^ -
I wasnt sure if this goes in the anime section or the game section, but i settled on game. sorry if that's wrong ;;^_^ In several anime i have seen, there is a guy playing an anime dating sims game, and i wondered if there are such games for girls. I looked it up, and finding ones for male players is really easy, but there weren't any for female players. I'm not really looking for hentai stuff, but i have always wanted to try one of these, though not one where your objective is to win the girl. Any ideas?

I love the S.A. second intro and outro, the vampire Knight soundtrack, and the .Hack//sign soundtrack the most i think :D
Looks like it. They're listing a ton of region free DVDs which, as I mentioned in the Special A thread, are never legit.
yea. Thanks! That really helps because i didnt want to buy bootleg :D

thanks! I will look for that in the future when I think something isn't legit. I really hope we do get this anime though T^T
