Good, cause we don't like seeing a bunch of hetero's (no offense) go at it at the mall or wherever. If you had any respect for us, you wouldn't do that in front of us as much as we don't do it in front of you. Unless you live in some Gay Meca, you're not gonna see a bunch of gay guys running around holding hands, kissing, whatnot. It doesn't happen. I personally can't see how that could be disgusting either... it's a show of love. I'm not really disgusted by heteros doing it cause I know they are showing affection., and there's nothing wrong with that. My best friend and his ex girlfriend used to do it all the time. We're not aiming to have ful blown sex in front of you. lol. We're not gonna show you our dicks, we're not gonna grope each other next to you. We do as much as any straight couple does in public (and we rarely do that) so I personally can't understand how any guys could be disgusted by it.... but I know that those people are just not comfortable with their own sexuality so it becomes their problem, not ours. Even Sephiroth, the member here, said that he didn't care at all. He's like 25, Middle Eastern (I use this an example to illustrate that the majority of middle eastern people are flat out against homosexuality, in fact it's in their laws in many of the countries), has a kid now, and he has no problem with gay people showing affection... and you do? lol. The problem lies within you young patawan. And you only like two women going at it if they are hot. Sorry, porn stars aren't real lesbians. You'd turn gay too for a porn shoot if you got paid the buck that they did. Lesbians aren't always that hot and believe me, if you're straight and don't like gay guys doing stuff, you will have a problem seeing two butch lezbo's going at it.

Whether or not this country is based on religious morals, it has no place. It says so in our very own constitution and by making it based on religious values, that initself is un-American. This is precisely whats wrong with this country. Among other things. Again, whether or not you're for or against gay marriage, it's quite frankly none of your damn business. I am not FOR organized religion but I'm not out protesting it, I'm not out voting against it... I let it be. It's not my life, it has no part of me, and thus I don't give a rat's arse. Religious folks tend to have this... thing where they jump all up in other people's business because they are "sinning".... uhh hello?... go away. If we're sinning we know we are, we don't care... and we certainly don't want or need your guidance or we'd already have used it. I know that sounds rude, but I don't mean it like that... I mean it in the way that we don't appreciate being told how we shoud live our life by people we a) don't know and b) don't care to know just as much as you wouldn't appreciate us telling you to "be gay for one day"... exactly... The issue here is personal rights of people... and we have the right to express our love to the fullest extent, and that means getting married... denying that right... why not just sweep us all under your american carpet and maybe we'll go away.... but it doesn't work that way,a nd now it's coming backto bite them all in the arse.

49% of the world's population isn't gay... lol... I think you mean 49% of the world's population is MALE, 51% is female... but not gay or straight... in fact it's somewhere along the lines of 10-30% of the worlds populations. Closeted or not.
Originally posted by OlgaTheDwarf he created sex as a perfect union between a man and a woman.
No, he created BREEDING as a perfect union between man and woman. Believe me when I say my penis has a perfect fit in a guys bottom. It's still sex, as defined by the dictionary and almost ever scientist. Anyway, regardless of that issue... whether or not it is a sin to christians, cause quite frankly religion has no part in legality of marriage, we don't give a poop. We want the benefits everyone else gets. We DESERVE them as much as anyone else. All we've done is try to live our lives as hated individuals since the beginning (except in Greek and Roman times where it was fairly normal to have male lovers or... aquaitances) In this country, the suppposed land of the free, and where our religion has no place in our government, we should be free to marry what we want (obviously restaints count, but gender shouldn't). If you want, we won't make it a religious ceremony. I don't plan to do it that way anyway, but I STILL want to be married... and I WILL be married one day, whether God likes it or not. And it fouls me how God can have a plan, and yet gay people exist, They're everywhere... And MANY MANY MANY of us are religious people (I mean look at some of the priest lol)... so as far as I see it, gay people are serving their part of God's plan. And you as christians should do nothing to stop it. Cause you know in the end, it'll all work out the way God wanted it to be. So leave us alone shall you? We don't want to involve ourselfs with you, so don't involve yourself with us.
Originally posted by OlgaTheDwarf I am a Christian and believe that God created Adam and Eve (not Adam and Steve) as the first humans.
lol... ofcourse he created Adam and Eve (Steve wasn't even a name back then anyway).... I mean seriously, how dense can you get?.... He made Adam and Eve cause he wanted them to be fruitful and multiply... that would be kinda hard had there been two men there now wouldn't it? In fact that would have been then end of the human race. I don't think God wanted that. I mean seriously, there was no need for Gay people when God created humans. Not if he wanted the race to flurish. I can't understand why people keep refering to this ridiculous quote.
Originally posted by cloricus Jubei I would say the same about your post. I'm also interested why this is only being related to America at the moment, it is a problem that each western country in turn will have to work out?
Because that is what the topic is about. Gay Marriages in America.
Originally posted by RequiemofaDream some people find gays to be disgusting, some don't. many consider a fifty year old marrying a 12 year old to be disgusting, a few don't. brother marrying sister, father marrying daughter, age differences, who knows, specie differences (!?), all could happen eventually, and legalizing gay marraiges would be the first step toward that. if the government is saying "your personal life, who you choose to have sex with and get married too is the business of the partners and no one else", well, it can go so many ways....
There's a difference. The only reason, as far as I know, that a brother or sister couldn't marry is for the health of any children they may have. Probably for the health of themselves too. I'm not exactly sure. Children of family members can come out rather... odd.... You can look back on the royal families of Erope and see that. I really don't see any difference, and personally... if a brother and sister wanted to get married... hey.... it's their life, I don't have a problem with it. The 50 year old marrying a 12 year old... thats a matter of concent, maturity, intelligence, and so on... stuff a growing child doesn't have. When you become 18, you can marry whoever the hell you want, 50 years older or not. Legalizing gay marriages isn't the first step in that.... you would just apply the same rules to gays as you would to straight people.... You can't marry your brother or first cousin, and you can't be marrying anyone under 18... it's simple as that. I see your point, but I believe it is not vaild in this case.

Lets leave this thread on GAY marriages, not whats wrong or right with christianity shall we? Thank you Anyway, for me, and the majority of gay people I know, marriage isn't about a religious thing, it's about the show of love. By denying us the right to marry, the government is basically saying that love between two people of the same sex cannot exist, which is 100% false. I've felt it, it's real. It's real just as much as God exists. I hope the government isn't letting me cry over what can't exist. I hope the government isn't letting me feel something that does not exist. Also for alot of us, we just want to have the partner benefits that come with marriage. When i die I don't want my money, my belongings going to some family member I may not like... I want it to go to the people I love, or person i love. Under current laws, if I die, my partner would get nothing. It would all go to my family. And my family could decide if they wanted to leave what I asked to my husband or boyfriend or whatever. If my family didn't like the fact I was gay or the person I was with, they could take everythign we owned away from him. Thats not right. We want tax bebfits, insurance benefits. It's not right that just because I love a MAN that I cannot get the same treatment as some hick joe who lives in the boondocks gets when he married his sister in vegas. This country is only a free country if you're white, straight, and male. It certainly will never be free if we can't even let two guys or two girls get married. What kind of f-ed up place is this? People who disagree aren't american. Anyone who's a true american believes in the right to be free, to have free speach, to have a free life, to be free to love whoever the F you want. If you don't believe in freedom, you're not American. You're anti-american. You should leave this country and stop ruining what it stands for. America.... 'land of the free' my ***. And it certainly has NOTHING to do with religion. Do those people even know what the constitution is? lol. I mean, seriously. If you think this country should be run on religious ideals, you should be shot. Seperation of church and state my friends. Freedome of religion my friends. You are not american my friends.
Originally posted by Harry Contrary to popular belief, condoms break. Probably since every poll ever taken for gay marriages the populace never goes under 64% for no.
Yes I know they break. You should still use one though. Whether or not they MAY or MAY NOT break... he didn't mention his broke... plus you should always pull out even with a condom, that way there's even less chance... anywy Some country we live in eh? FREEDOM!... for straight white men only! woooo go America!

deffinantly not in Florida... lol. Only cause a few years back we had all those fires and well yeah.... but it's rained the last 4 days so I don't think any fires are happening this year.... regardless, any morters or big kaboom fireworks are a no no here, even though every year, everyone on the block ends up getting them.
Originally posted by Harry You're only saying she is brave because she is saying something that you agree with. If I were to say something along the lines that all gays should be imprisoned because a small percentage commit crimes you wouldn't be calling me brave for recognizing a problem
But thats not a problem. It's not somethng thats out of control. A problem means something that needs to be fixed, thus something is wrong, something has exceeded the limitations.... The gun/murder rate in this country is a problem. It has become out of control. A small percentage of gay peopel committing crimes is not out of control, hence your use of "small percentage"... Usually you make at least some sense in your posts, that however didn't make any. Banning toy guns may not be the answer, as i've said in all my posts, I'm not here to say that we should.... I'm just saying, we HAVE to do something.... we HAVE to.... and if nothing lese will be done, than toy guns should be banned. Thats what happens when people ignore a problem, things they don't want happens. Kinda like how we ignored the fact Saddam Hussein was killing Kurds and gave him chemical weapons. And then it got out of hand and we had to go into Iraq and stop him, even though alot of people in this world, including myself, didn't want it. Milliardo, I know what your saying and I agree for the most part.... but like I said... action needs to be taken. And no one else is doing it, so something must be done, however extreme it may be. I'm not justifying this woman's reasons, I really could care less... as you notice I mention little about her reasons in this thread, and more on my own reasons why we should ban toy guns, guns, and the fact we have a gun problem in this country that desperately needs to be dealt with. If it's gun, if it's bad parenting, whatever. SOMETHING needs to be done. I'm sure you can agree... yet... you give no solutions to the problem. This woman is at least providing a solution to the problem. She at least CARES, thats more than what I can say about alot of other people in this country. She cares enough to the point where she is willing to stand up and provide a some sort of solution, no matter how radical it is.... you do know that the colonies standing up to Great Britian for independence was a radical idea too. Look how that turned out. You never know what will happen. I also personally believe kids wouldn't care if toy guns were banned. I really don't see any purpose in having kids play cops and robbers or shoot em up or whatever... they can find billions of other things to do, one little game or so won't kill em, unlike guns, which will kill them. pbfrontmanvdp, thank you. I try to put as much time and thought into my posts. Even if I agree or disgree and I respect others who do the same, even if i dusagree with them. I just try to say what I believe and what I think and attempt to back it up with some sort of relevant issues and facts.

i live in Orlando... it's hot... and rainy, so watch out now.

You should use a condom. And a week and a half late is nothing. When it starts getting... uhh 3 weeks, there's a 'problem' I'm gay, that just screams DRAMA! and thus PROBLEMS! But it's good, this country is just starting to let us BE gay without having our president openly announce his homophobia. Well hell, who knows whats in store... I just want to get married man! Is that so much to ask!?

I don't even understand what the conflict is here or how it involves any except the parties directly involved... oh thats right it doesn't.... it's just a few weird people being weird... As for the mods and members and whatever.... having been on this board for... what?... 2 years now? I can say this is NOTHING compared to how bad it used to be. These recent events involving one or two fo the admins here or elsewhere is none of your concern. As far as I can see, as a person who has no clue what the thing between those admin guys is, and as a mod of this forum and visitor of other forums, there is hardly anything worth crying over. The simple fact here is.... it's not bad, in fact this board hasn't changed much in the last year. If you really have a problem with it, there's no one keeping you here, you're free to leave. It's a message board... people will disagree, I should know... people will fight, people will get angry, but let me reassure you on something... this is a message board.... It's supposed to happen, thats why we have an admin and mods... believe me, we aren't here to make it look good, even though we try. We are here to moderate.... to control in some sense.... why do we need control? Because sometimes people get out of hand.... Now I am closing this topic. I'm sure Charles or James will respond... they should clarify alot more than I can. If you have any personal thing with them, feel free to use our very own Private Messaging service, 20 cent the first PM, 99 cent each addition one. Thank you.
Originally posted by Milliardo It's not the banning of toy guns per se that's troubling, but the logical next step that comes with it. What repercussions would toy gun banning entail? Would it mean banning violent cartoons as well, as I have mentioned? Banning toy guns is just a step towards that, and if someone would take that logical next step, anime would face the prospect of being banned. And I am sure you wouldn't want that to happen (or else it would be questionable why we're on this message board in the first place).
I could really care less is anime was banned. But anime doesn't kill anyone. It's pretty obvious that if that boy didn't have the toy gun he would have not been shot. What if he was holding anime, would he have still been shot? lol exactly. It may be a bad comparison, but so is comparing anime to guns... horrible comparison.... the fact is, guns are useless... they serve one purpose and one purpose only... to kill/harm/injur/the likes there of... they don't do anything else. Anime on the other hand does none of that. If I made another reason why toy guns should be banned would it make a difference? please. The real reason anyone is arguing this is because they don't think toy guns should be banned. Don't give me that BS about the reason why... Don't listen to reason and ban them anyway if that's your excuse.
The same can be said about guys then. We seem to have grown fine with toy guns in hand. It has little to do with toy guns, and much more to do with parental responsibility. A negiigent and irresponsible parent will certainly raise the same kind of child, and maybe even worse. The logic behind banning toy guns is the supposed reason that it makes "violent" children. But what makes a child? The toys he possess, or the upbringing he had? Many would agree it's the latter, and not much of the former. Again, it all comes down to parental responsibility, nothing more. Even without toy guns, a negligent parent will still turn up an irresponsible and maybe even a criminal child.
Yes guys grow up fine with toy guns... shooting people in schools... robbing the Quickymart, shooting other kids, having 11 millions deaths per year being gun related... if thats what you call fine. I do agree, it is parents. So then if you aren't gonna ban toy guns, ban people from having kids! China kind of did it! Ofcourse that would take away from your right to be idiotic and breed. Only 10% of the people int his country should breed, but it's never those 10%, it's always those stupid people who can't take care of themselves, let alone a child, that have kids. And they end up with 4 of them! How does this happen? If thats your reasoning, then do something about it instead of arguing over toy guns... argue over stupid parents. Then do something about it. I do... I make sure my brother takes care of his daughter... and I'm making sure I never have kids.
Then we are to assume then that you will not let your children share your joy in watching anime, or at least those that you would deem as violent like Gundam and the like, since they involve guns and shooting each other an whatnot? And we can add in as well American cartoons, like Warner Bros. and others which, by the way, show much more graphic violence than your average anime. Please explain to us why most of us have turned out fine watching those cartoons, when the reasoning behind this is that it might turn kids violent?
I never said anything about cartoons. Not that I plan to have kids, and even if i did, I wouldn't let them watch that Gundam crap either.... or the WB stuff where Bugs Bunny shoots someone in the crowd, everytime I see that I start yelling. I can't understand why they leave that ont he air and blame the columbine shootings on Marilyn Manson and Rammstein.... stupid american press. I personally don't think toy guns do anything possitive for a child.... I can't come up with anything, can you?... whiel cartoon on the other hand provide a level of entertainment in a fasion suitable for a child. I don't expect nor would I want my child watching a mature cartoon, such as MANY anime shows. Just because they are animated DOES NOT make them for children. Now like I have said and I'll say again, I think parents need to control watch over and teach their kids that this is not real. TV shows are fake... they need to teach them to never use a gun, never use a knife.... not untill they are old enough to realize the consiquences it might have. Which is usually not till like 12 in most cases it seems. I will agree with your only point about parents. I will not agree with your other statements cause I think they are rather inconcievable and missunderstood. I'm not here saying to ban toy guns, all I'm saying is someone needs to take some action... whatever it is, andif banning toy guns is that action then so be it. You all should have acted earlier. PS that "don't become a parent" thing was directed at people who fail to realize we have a problem, or fail to do anythign about it.

I'm a J-Rocker god dammit! lol SURFACE SURFACE SURFACE. I love me some SURFACE, except this isn't as good as their older stuff. But it's better than News.... what a horrid song that was. Almost as bad as any GLAY song out there, except Yuuwaku which was just cool.
Originally posted by Randleman Yes America has a gun problem. But banning toy guns won't help. Toy guns don't kill, they get people killed. So if you want to ban something, ban the things that do the killing. Ban the guns.
There's a method of banning. It takes steps. If you ban guns period, toy guns are going with it. Does UK sell any toy guns? I know real guns are banned there. Or they have very strict limitations. I'm curious to know if toy guns (the non-futuristic/alien type) are even sold there. I wouldn't think they are. One step at a time. Just like every other issue in america. You have to build up to the ultimate solution.
Originally posted by Harry Just because a woman has some ridiculous reasoning inside of her head and wants to force everyone to obey her doesn't make her brave.
You obviously failed to understand my point. It's not what she said that makes her brave, it's the fact she said it. Liek I said, she has more balls than anyone here. She's standing up for what she believes. She's not forcing anyone to do anything either. She is debating, she is putting out a possible solution, and she is giving her reasons as to why, what and how it should be done. No one else is. Thats for damn sure. She is recognizing a problem and offering a solution. Thats how things become better, you just can't ignore it like everyone thinks. Sorry people, thats not the way it works in the real world. And for God's sake people. Look at yourselves lol. Banning toy guns will do absolutely NOTHING to children. They'll use their fingers if they have to, and if anything they'll spend their time doing something else, possibly something that involves more intelligence than running around pretending to shoot the neighbour boy. Girls don't typically play with toy guns and they seem to grow up perfectly fine. So please explain why we absolutely MUST have toy guns in our children's lives? Please... don't have children, this country is bad enough without you as a parent.
Originally posted by Perfect Cell I agree with everything the thread-starter says. It's just plain...uh...IGNORANCE. Yeah, ignorance thats the ticket.
Why is it ignorant? Is it ignorant she recognizes that this country has a problem? Is it ignorant that she has more balls than you and every man here to stand up and speak her mind in a free country? It may be ignorant that she only gives one possible explanation to deal with this problem, but at least it's something, even as ridiculous as it is. No one else has, and the government hasn't stepped up to even recognize the problem itself. If the people in power can't handle their own country, the people who live here will. And quite frankly, I commend this woman for her courage, her intelligence, and her will to stand up to the idiotic government, the idiotic Fox New Press, and all the idiotic people who refuse to acknowledge there is a HUGE gun problem in this country and we NEED to deal with it, whether we want to or not.

Guns in America.... lol it's a joke. America has the highest murder rate using a gun out of all the fully developed economic and social countries. Canada has like 60 deaths a year using a gun, the Uk has like 5 or something near that. Australia has 20 or so... what does america have? 12 thousand... a year.... compared to 60 just one country north... FIVE to our greatest ally. It's pathetic. Our country has a problem... our country has a bajillion problems... there are many ways to solve this, the president is taking no such action (the only action he does take is on other countries, he easily tends to forget about his own), so others are. If this will sove our gun problem, then do it. I personally don't believe banning toy guns or guns in general would do anything.... I think we need to use a word we rarely use.... education. Educate kids that guns aren't to be pointed at people. regardless toy or not. Educate them on what happens. Canada doesn't have a low murder rate w/ gun because it's people don't have guns. In fact 60% of canadians own guns. The question is not the possesion of guns, but the education of the person using it. Giving your kid a toy gun (real looking or not) and not telling them what to do with it is disaster waiting to happen. Billy will see Mel Gibson in some leathal weapon movie shootin at the bad guys and he'll go around pointing his toy gun at EVERYONE (cause thats what kids do) and some Police officer will think he's got a gun and shoot him.... oops already happened. ::sighs:: it'll never happen... not with our education system, not with the load of crappy parents in this worl and this country, and certainly not with a society already used to having 1 or 2 murders a day in their city involving the use of a deadly firearm.
