Much Much better. Japanese symbols tend only to look good when used appropiately.
Originally posted by Nomad hey i got another one
Gah, you did the same thing as Kenji... It would look tons better if you got rid of that useless Kanji you wrote out... let me guess, you typed Enter the Arena in the Kanji A font?
Originally posted by Hittokiri Zero Oh well Transtic Nerve's thrid one is the best but why do I feel a major Kenshin trendness coming on oh yeah that's cuz CN is gonna air a gaybo edited version of Kenshin ^__^' well you should all watch it anyway it'll get your mind off DBZ and Digimon
I used Kenshin because well, I didn't feel like using DB and I scanned my own pictures and I have a Kenshin book and a DBZ one... Why they used it, I dunno. Kenji, I don't like the use of the Kanji on your new banner. It's... too much lol. I mean, it looks good artistic wise, but I guess it's a personal thing that I don't like seeing symbols from Japanese or Chinese that are just thrown together without meaning.

I did three with little variation in them. Whichever you like.
Originally posted by Faris Did you remember to do [/img] at the end? Stupid question, but you'd be surprised at how many times I've done that.
If he didn't, the program wouldn't recognize it as an Image, and thus wouldn't tell him "image not found"

Seems to work perfectly fine here... the url for the sig is http://jikannohizumi.hypermart.net/laruku.jpg ... if it stilldoesn't work Jimmy, then move the picture to the "pics" folder on my server and try it again. Also, I hope I have the right sig image. lol.
Originally posted by BabyGirl I'm not trying to come to anyone's defense, but the way I interpret TN's definition of "stupid people" [or whatever] are those who lack common sense, foresight, or the basic human intelligence about life. I don't think he's ripping on those who don't score well on standardized testing and math quizzes, but rather on those who continually make dumb life decisions. I could be wrong, but that's just how I saw it.
' This is exactly the case. You probably know this because you know me better than 90% of the people at these boards. Like you said, it certainly isn't based on tests, I hate standardized school tests. You and I had the chat about making ever child take the common sense test. Even though it's a test, it's not an acedemic one. It's the people who lack that common sense to realize that you can get pregnant if you have sex, you can die if you do drugs, etc etc. Do you know how many kids have NO idea what a condom is? Thats why kids smoke. Because peer pressure and the fact they think "hey, it won't matter if I smoke a few cigarrettes" then by the time you know it, they are smoking 2 or 3 or whatever packs a day and they die by age 40. Same with drinking "hey if I drink a few beers I'll be alright to drive home" and then by the time you know it, they're dead on the side of the road next to their car which they proceeded to wrap around a tree. The reason I don't like kids most of the time is because they lack simple common sense. My BROTHER lacked that common sense (a fine example, he was 14 or 15 and he put plastic in the oven. He put a plastic salad mixer in the over. How dumb do you have to be to put a PLASTIC salad mixer in the oven)
Ok wtf d00ds. Parties are good Beer is good GIRLS ROXOR SEX I WANT DRUGS ARE BAD Drugs are bad. My frend talks about rabbits wen hes high lets all chill out and listen to some Tupac and jack off. LOL :mrt: :mrt: :mrt: MR T RULES YO HOLLAH
Ah, yet another fine example to proove my point even further.

When I think deep thoughts I tend to think calm, slow, relaxed.... however you just kinda threw that out the window lol. Your picture is not any of those. Its exciting, its fast, its all over the place... to me thats kind of the opposite of deep thought... but it's still very well done.

Maybe I should just make my boring old point instead of trying to lighten them up some because now some of you are just taking them the complete wrong way. Then again, no one seems to read the boring posts.
Originally posted by DeathKnight Sort of like how funny it is that a SuperModerator can get away with saying that, when a normal member, like say Harry, would most likely end up being mentioned in staff. Just hailarious stuff, really. Makes tears of joy come to my eyes. =)
No, not at all. If Harry got mentioned in staff for saying what I just said, I'd laugh at the person whom it bothered so much. It was funny. I would have laughed at Harry. I would, and have done in the past, said that it was a witty comment. I'm complemented Harry sevral times on some of his comments for the wit he uses and the placement of them. I am just making a point that parents aren't always right. I just made light of it. Parents aren't all powerful people, and they aren't always right, so sometimes it's best not to listen to them if the circumstances are shown. Like for example taking drinking advice from alcoholics, probably something you DON'T want to do.

Read the rules please. Favorite threads aren't allowed, neither is "which character is better" or "who do you like" things. We try to have discussion here, not mindless raving on about Bulma or whoever.

I miss tennis... Anyway, I ran into a mail box once.... yeah... it sucked.
Originally posted by cloricus Beer, listen to your parents. They will have the best advice. Eps ? LOL? Man? I can agree with TN on this one.
lol, unless ofcourse his parents are alcoholics. wouldn't that be a funny, ironic, yet not surprising, twist to this. At least you can see my point in this. There's no use in making a point half the time if no one can understand it. Everyone has a prejudice that they shouldn't, mine is kids. Ofcourse with all prejudice, it doesn't apply to every single one of them, I'd like to mae that clear. My use of the words "some" and "most" are not incidental.
Originally posted by postbagboy the problem with you Americans, is that you only teach/get taught about the history of your own country 95% of the time. what about the rest of the world?! that early Hitler Chinese queen that killed off missionaries by characterizing them as "demons"?! how the English had a war with the the Maoris after a damn treaty was signed?! i mean, jeez! don't you AMericans think of anyone else?! oh yeah, i am a history freak BTW.
Well when refering to US history, it tends to be it's own course here. Also History is written by the winners. I mean, its the same reason the US thinks of George Washington as the hero and the Biritish think of him as a traitor... All hstory is taught from the viewpoint of the winner and thus certain things are left out. Like the killing of many Native Americans on the trail of tears. You won't hear much about that in history books. As far as what you said goes. What does not appeal to us will not be written by us. Different books have different things. They certianly aren't going to put a non-significant thing in a High School history book. The worlds history is much much more than can be fit in one little text book. I know that if you get more in depth history books, focusing on certain time periods, countries, or wars, you'll get those minor details that the HS history books almost always leave out. The same also applys to the rest of the world. English get taught English history, The Spanish, Spain's history... so ona dn son on... it's probably, logically more important, to know yourown countries hostory than that of the other countries. I mean, it's also important to know the history of others but not so much as your own. I'm sure you can say you learn more about your own country's history than you do about America's history.
Originally posted by gokents TN, you are possibly more insulting than anyone on this board because of your own air of indifference to the possible insults that your comments may represent. I condem the idea of taking part in the above stated actions... I never supported the idea that a 13 year old should be doing such activities. (drugs sex etc) Although Im sure you just made a simple mistake about the sex thing because he did say specifically that he hadn't "done it." All the while you are reffering to the parents of this child indirectly as bad parents and the child themself as a loser. You should be far more ashamed for your lack of tolerance than this kid should be for his bad decisions. This truely has become another example of the self proclaimed victim of discrimination (that homosexuality thread we had a couple weeks ago) taking the moral low ground by showing their own intolerance for the mistakes of another. Although,I gotta say... since you went to birthday parties and played basketball at that age, you are definatly entitled the right to insult anyone you wish, none the less the parents who responded in a proper authoritative fashion upon finding out about the mistakes of their child.
Uh no, it's not that at all. I HATE most kids. Call me what you will. Whatever the prejudicial word is for a immaturity hater. The word sex applies to any sexual act regardless of actual intercourse. Thats why it's called oral SEX. Notice I didn't ever say intercourse. And I wasn't getting a blow job at age 13 either. Masturbating is a form of sex. I hate kids because I do. It's a psychological thing about me, blame my brother. If you don't believe me, talk to my former therapist. She'll tell you that all I refered to in my sessions was how much the immaturity of my brother absolutely bothered me beyond any reasonable undoing. I was chronically depressed, and still am, because of it. His immature comments and doings effected my who life, and I resent it and everyone who does it to. I don't associate myself with immature, stupid people because I've delt with it enough, I don't think I need to anymore. My brother is exactly that though. I've lived with it my whole life, and because he was stupid enough to have sex at an early age, he had a KID when he was 16. Which now my parents and the mothers parents must take care of because he's not smart enoug, old enough, or financially secure enough at all to raise a child. I will solely blame him and the mother if my neice ends up being anything like the things mentioned in this thread. The way I see it, if you aren't responcible enough to do the things you are doing, don't do them, and children are far from respooncible to deal with any consequence of "drugs, beer, and sex"... thats why they are called CHILDREN!

The original dub that was done for Kenshin. I dunno if it was on the DVDs, I didn't bother wasting my money on that garbage, but there was a dub out of Kenshin and it's been out for more than 4 years I know for sure. When i first got into Kenshin i saw a few clips form the original dub, which made me want to puke. I had seent he Japanese versions before that and I was blown away by the seiyuu (voice actor) for Sanosuke and how great it was, but when i watched the dub, the VA for Sanosuke was absolutely horrid. This is the classical dub vs sub debate. This is the fact the VAs can't act, not that the info isn'r right, like in DBZ or osmething. If you want to enjoy the show more, go get the japanese version. Even without the subtitles, you'll enjoy it much more than the crappy dub.
Originally posted by James Are you serious? Is the sky pink, too? lol
He's actually semi-right James. From a scientific view, its debatable, but sticking to, the thought that viruses aren't living. http://www.sciencenet.org.uk/database/Biology/Microbes/b00457c.html "It is quite difficult to decide whether viruses are actually alive. They do not do a lot of the things that living organisms do , by definition, such as repiring, eating, moving, growing, etc, but they are more than very complex chemicals. We still don't know much about the origin of viruses and don't yet understand fully how viruses are related to each other, or to other organisms. Viruses do not fit into any of the five kingdoms of the well accepted classification system of living organisms." The main reason they are considered non-living is because they cannot reproduce on thier own. They typically almost ALWAYS need a host to do anything (move, reproduce, etc etc) which typical living things don't need. Although it's still very debatable whether or not they are or not. I know I made this topic go off course, no need to hold back names. I just didn't see a need for completely false information to be posted without having the truth told. Many kids read these boards and I would like it if I didn't end up having to answer some ridiculous question because billy here read it on some message baord. If false information is posted, I like to see it be turned so that the truth is said. Which is probably the main reason I'm responding to this and that virus debate you and Mitch are having.

I fail to see that partying with drugs and sex is a "normal" actvity for a 13 year old. I certainly wasn't having sex at 13. I went to Birthday partys when I was 16, not friends parties with beer and drugs, in fact thats why I don't go to parties at all. When i was 13, I was playing basketball with my 13 year old friends. Actually they were older. I was playing video games all day long when I wasn't sleeping or at school. I mean shouldn't you just begin to masturbate at 13 and not having sex? It's poor judgement on the child's part and even worse on the parents, who were probably the same way, or too young or not right to raise any child. I know some that did that stuff at such a young age, usually they always ended up the type of person to drop out of school, fail, and just not care about anything but "getting high" and having fun. Always ended up being the losers to me.

the dubbed version of Kenshin is absolutely COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save yourself and get the original Japanese ones. You'll be blown away by how good it is compared to the dub.
Originally posted by Mnemolth This is okay ...but my comment was out-of-line. I have no feud with you TN. If you behave, so will I. Just because you're a Mod should not mean you can ignore all the rules. As I have said before, no one reigns you in, and that is more of a worry than anything I might or might not say.
I didn't break any rules by saying that. Please read the rules again if you think i did. I DO hate many children under the age of 16, BECAUSE they go out and party and do stupid stuff like this thread has suggested. This is the reason we have 13 year olds getting pregnant. This is why we have kids failing school and living off MY Tax paying dollars because they are too stupid to find a job or do anything useful in life. They are immature, and I hate immaturity. I didn't point out anyone, I am saying, and I'll say it again. I don't like people who are under the age of 16 for many reasons. Many people I don't like in that age range, precisely for the reasons in this thread. Attacking me out of the blue for no reason, and poiting it out and completely INSULTING me with SLANDER IS against the rules.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail Daredevil is going to be awesome following the previews they're showing on television.
Originally posted by Mnemolth As for who is a 'loser' or not, well, you want to do dumb things while you're young. Stupid, silly, foolish things that you would never do as an adult. You certainly don't want to end up a frustrated and bitter old man like TN, now do you? ;)
And you certainly don't want to make another comment like that or you'll be banned like Mnemolth. There was no need for that comment. I've had it up to here with your garbage. Whatever fued you have with me, you better get rid of it. If I read any attack like that on me again, I'll make sure you're not ever back here to say anything else.
Originally posted by gokents Well actually sara, you got them right. Unfortunatly I was trying to stick it to the "genious." I want to say to the question trans nerve posted that I believe it had not to do with secret agreements, but simple strategy. Why would you waste your time on an all out offensive and then leave you southern flank open to attack. That would make no sense. But you have sparked my interest with the idea that there is a secret agreement driving the strategic importance to attack from the south. Im not saying there were no agreements behind the scenes, Im just saying that when looking at the situation strategically, attacking from the south is without a doubt the best angle of attack.
Here what I heard, and tend to see as my own opinion as well. Before America even entered the war, before Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt and Churchhill had a secret meeting, which they discussed the stratagies of war because it was enevitable that the US was going to be entered into this war some how. They decided that the liberation of Europe was going to be taken first, Asia later. They also decided the UN would be in place, as well as an uncondistional surrender by the enemy. By the time America officially got into war, it was right after Pearl Harbor. Which was in December of 1941. We didn't even invade Europe (our first proposition stated by FDR and Churchhill) till 2 and a half years later, on D-Day in 1944. But we were in the war so we had to do something. By this time, there was pretty much only an eastern front. Germany and Russia. Germany already had France and most of Eastern Europe. They had fought the British but the Royal Airforce was kicking the German's butts. So there wasn't much a western front, besides bombing raids in England and dog fights. America took a look at this and said "Hey... The Nazis, our enemy now and the Commie, our enemy 10 years ago and future enemy, are killing each other. Why should we do anything?" Just let them mow each other over, because hey, The more dead Nazis the better, the more dead Commies, the better. So we attack North Africa. Where Rommel is, but whopty do. We chased him around a while and did a bunch of nothing. We could have taken North Africa and then moved up through Italy, which we did do, but not right away. But that wouldn't politically correct. France was our ally before they gave up in 2 month or whatever. SO we should liberate France first, instead of taking the easy way through Italy. Thats where D-Day comes into fact. Thats why we didn't storm the beaches of Sicily lol. We went through France to liberate France and then the Soviets and us met half way, albeit, they took a little longer to get there, in Berlin. War in Europe over. It was all a political move to "attack" North Africa. I'm sure there's evidence to point otherwise, but you certainly can't rule out that thought.

Exactly. You don't know how they evolved, but the knwoledge that they DID evolve is there. I'm not sayign that How or from where something evolves isn't a theory, I'm saying the basics of evolution have been prooven. THINGS EVOLVE! it happens, it's not theory, IT HAPPENS, whats so hard to understand about that?
