I relallly like her new album RAINBOW. And I realllllly like We wish from that album. I am also a fan of most of her remix stuff and some of her older albums. Like LOVEppears and songs like Whatever! (which is a favorite of mine from any artist)

Are you basing the choice off of who we think acts good or who we just happen to like? I LIKE Hayden Christensan. But he's a terrible actor. Good actors... Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks. I don't nessisarily like all of them, but they aregood actors.

We DO NOT need to see a return of the so called "friends list"... it was an epidemic before... along with those ridiculous clans. Last thing we need are those popping up again. I think the friend's list is stupid. To me it just scream "attention! I'm here, look at me and all my friends, who aren't really friernd, just other people who crave attention like I do who PM me once and never talk to again" At least... thats how I precieve the whole thing. I've never had a friend's list and I've never PMed anyone to be on anyone's friends list. The only thing you really need to have in your sig is like a banner, a link to a website if you have one and maybe a few personal quotes or something funny you want people read.

Hmm Do you mean, like if they are killed while they are int he afterlife... like if they are ighting and they blow up or something in the afterlife? Or do you mean those who dies on earth or whatever and have no body when they go to the afterlife? If it's "destroyed while in afterlife" then I dunno, but if you mean "No body after being killed on earth in the afterlife" then yes, they can be wished back because Gokou does it with all the people who were blown up on earth. Your second question is a matter of opinion. There's no real answer because their powerlevels were never measured and it never happened in the series.

There is an older topic like this that happened fairly recent, I'd rather you post in that, HOWEVER, i can't find it so yeah. If someone knows where it is and wouldlike to post a link for Dragonstar to use, I will close this topic.

See the Trivia thread, use that. PS: there's not a third TV special for DBZ. Unless it's some sort of trick question. You have obviously gotten your information wrong. The special ou are refering to is the OAV. Original Animation Video... the OAV wasn't run on TV first, it was a video... thus the name.
Originally posted by Anna :therock: Let's not get too uptight about a movie thread; I don't know who exactly you're addressing there, but for my part, my only grief was directed toward the person I quoted (um, see top of page). There are plenty of movies I don't care to see and never will see because I think they look stupid--fine, no one is disputing that right or anything. All I was saying is that in light this particular movie and movies along the same line of genre, people shouldn't be so quick to write them off, as not all of them are them same, acknowledging some are crap but some are well-done. o_O?? No need to get defensive....
Wasn't directed at you. The first two parts were directed to whomever was reading.. the third was directed plainly at one person.

Anime How did Vegeta learn to sense ki?
Transtic Nerve replied to SS5 Gogeta's topic in Otaku Central
Rememebr how piccolo trained Gohan to see the fighters moving at a fast speed? Well it kind of works the same... If you clear your mind and use your strength to sense it, you will be able to sense ki enegy... ofcourse this is only applying the the world of DBZ. It can work kind of the same in real life... like... if you stay still and focus on something like hearing.. then you'll be able to hear better than if you weren't focused or doing something else at the same time... blah blah blah. -
Movies are art my friends... and Art doesn't appeal to all people. Thus naturally, me for example, will not think that a movie about drumming, or cheerleading, or whatever would be worth the 7-10 I would pay to sit and waste an hour and a half of my life. Like when I watched Legally Blonde... horrid movie.... Reese Withersppon should have been shot after doing that load of horse sh*t. Just like if I post a picture of an abstract art that is just a big giant blue canvas... nothing else... and all of you say it isn't art... it's the same thing, just with movies. And I don't think that movies about surfing, or cheerleading, or drumming are worth the film they put it on. And just like you, Mnemolth, I can voice my opinion as much as you and I'll be damned if I don't. You're not so low off your horse either. Perhaps you need to look in the mirror and realize it yourself because it seems your the only one who doesn't know.

Who Am I had a plot as well.....

I probably had the coolest "school counseller" in the world. He wasn't the kind that you go to with your emotional problems. (you really shouldn't go to a SCHOOL counseller for that anyway) but the type of guy who would sit and tlk for hours upon hours about what you would do in your future after HS. He was the head counseller... out of... 5 or 6. And the best. He had a great sense of humor... his office didn't have a single free space on the wall. All covered in Zepplin posters or comics or random objects that he found in the trash... you could spend the whole time just staring at his wall. As far as helping, he most certainly helped as far as getting things ready for college. Told me what to do, what to worry about, all that junk.
Originally posted by morfeus I liked the music in Cooler's Revenge, but not so much in Lord Slug. Speaking of the movies, where can I get the remaining movies, i.e. 7-13?
FUNimation hasn't dubbed those movies and probably won't for a few years (till they all get done) So the only way you can see them is in original Japanese with English subtitles. Where you can get those I can't tell you.

There are 95 episodes, however only the first 60 or so are worth watching, the ones after that get a bit boring. Plus the 4 episode OAV, the movie and the newest OAV which is 2 episodes. If you're downloading them, get the real player files. They are encoded at 300 KBPS which is good quality. I've seen them all in that format, they are good.

Who should be responsible for the moral education of a child?
Transtic Nerve replied to ChibiV's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by MistressRoxie Schools should not be the ones responsible for teaching children moral lessons. Yes, in kindergarden, you do learn not to hit others, and to share, etc., but if you haven't heard that at home first, and if it isn't enforced enough, 99.9% of the time, what the teachers teach you isn't going to stick, or work. It's the parents who should be teaching the morals. My mother is a teacher, and being the kid of the supervisor of the language arts/reading curriculm, I can tell you right now, that parents do not elect the teachers in the schools. The principals, and the superindendents of the district over see that, and decide which teachers to hire. Yes, some teachers can be quiet stupid, but don't you have some like that in EVERY proffesion of work? And maybe you say that the teaching profession has more. These people are making the average salary of $55,000 a year, and that's gross yearly income, you haven't taken the taxes out yet. These people are teaching because they love to be teaching. The schools don't make children stupid. It's the way they are. If your IQ is 100, it's going to stay that way, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. When you see poor report card grades, it usually means you're living in a low class city, or section of a city. Take for example, Jamaica Queens. Not the best place in NYC. Th outside life there, all the gangs, guns, street fights, are to blame for a child's low acedemic performance, because with all those ouside distractions, and not feeling too safe can be the cause of low report card grades. You can say the teachers there aren't the best. Why? Because of the area and it's aura, very few teachers would want to teach there. Once again, it's the life outside the classroom. Maybe it seems like I'm attacking TN. If it is, I apologize for having it seem that way, because it isn't how I intended it to seem. He has a right say what he wants, and I have a right to respond to it.
I know that parents don't elect teachers, lol. I meant they elect school officials... like... school board members. They are the ones who decide what and how to spend school money and if they don't spent it on the schools then well there you go. Like around here, the Orange County school board took their money and spent like... half of it on a statue outside their offices... and the rest on schools... I mean... why? Doesn't make sense... As for your second point, you've never lived in Florida have you? You've never had the dispriviledge to go to our public schools. Teachers here don't teach because they like to, they teach because they have a degree from college that says they can and it'll get them more money then working at the grocery store. Sure some like to teach, but others...I highly doubt it. If you're going to teach, do it well. You're influencing hundrens upon thousands of children, and if you look at Florida you can tell thats simply not happening. I never said the schools make children stupid, but they certainly don't ake them any smarter. If a child went through life not going to school or readning a book or being taugh by their parents, they'd be stupid in American stadards at least. Which means the schools help children become smart andunderstand things better. If they can't do that, then whats the use? Your kid will be stupid. Not because the school made them, but becayse the school failed to help them. Also, regardless of outside influences, I'm sure childrne can still learn. There's bombings in Isreal and things being blown up and people being killed, yet their children still learn. Their university is still open. If you're devoted enough as a teacher and as a student, then you will learn. Despite anything else. Now oviously ofcourse i'm not balming the teachers and school system on the under developed mental capacity of our children, but it does reflect it in ways. -
I defy the laws of gravity, therefor I am un-physic. You obviously aren't a very good psychic, or you would have forseen yourself spelling PSYCHIC wrong. By the by, alot of people have deja-vu or what songs will say. Many lyrics are the same in many songs and judging from context clues form the sentence before or the current sentence, you could easily figure out the next verse/line whatever. If you could read my mind right now, I'd tell you you're psychic.

Power levele are stupid anyway. No one cares. Gokou beat Furiiza, thats all that matters. Plus, next time tell the people who run the site.

About that lega stuff... The Supreme court divides law decisions into 3 categories. School, Military, and Other. Basically that mean what goes on in your normal life as far as rights are concenred can and will change if it has to do with school or the military. Plus, you not being 18, have no legal rights. You are basically a slave under your parents. So yeah. Anyway, as someone said, it's a federal holiday, so unles syour going to a private school, you aren't going anywhere on Christmas, so stop worrying about it and just enjoy it. And like I said, if you have that big a problem with it, like it seems you do, all yo need to do is get your parents to threaten the school board and it'll all be over.

The guy(s) who did the music wouldn't give up their rights to the Americans. So FUNimation had to improvise, albeit, poorly. They could have done much better. I guess they got the rights for the original DB and for the very first movie, but actually I don't think they did when they dubbed that. Pioneer and FUNi both I think had the rights to DBZ back then and then sold it all over to FUNi after the first 50 episodes or so. When the voices changed from Ocean Group to Funi's **** actors. I think when Pioneer did the first movie, they kinda forgot the music and left the original in there. It was taken out later. So if you have that movie with the original music in it, you're lucky. but yeah, thats why. They really could have gotten better music producers... but yeah...

Just don't go to school... I mean jeeze. It's really simple if you think about it. This is when you have your parents all complain to the school board. If you do this right, this guy will be either fired or impeached or whatever. Then again, maybe he's jewish.... You should really get 8 days off for Chanuka, or however you spell that. You'd be amazed at what your parents can do when they complain... remember, they have the power of the vote, which will make a politician crouble to his/her knees. All that needs to be said is "Oh whats that? I'm sorry, you don't want my vote next term? ok" and if enough of you get your parents to do that... well they'll be at your mercy.

Since most of the people here are kids, or who just don't drink like myself, I doubt you'll get many responces. And even if it were so, they probably forgot what happened anyway.... you'd be better off with your topic being "Have you done anything you regret while not intoxicated" Which I'm sure alot of people have alot of stories.

He vowed never to kill another with his sword, which is why he used a Sakabatou instead of a traditional samurai sword. A Sakabatou is a swords who has the flat end of the sword where it would be sharp in a traditional sword, and sharp where it would be flat. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS... actually it does, but the first part is background info. During the Bakumatsu times, Kenshin was a hitokiri (basically an assassin, "mankiller") working for the Ishinshishi. Japan was basically in a civil war between the Meiji Ishin and the Edu Bakufu. Kenshin was a revolutionist working with the Meiji as an assassin (he was 15 at the time) and was feared by almost all of the enemy (except Saito Hajime - who was the leader of the Shinsengumi, the assassins working for the Edu Bakufu) So it was a war of the sword. Many people died, many at the hands of Kenshin himself.
After he inadvertently killed his own wife (who was forced to be on the opposing side), Kenshin vowed never to use his sword to kill again. But to protect. So he became a Rurouni (vagabon, wanderer) and ended up stuck with Kaoru, whom he falls in love with.... albeit she falls in love with him first, he doesn't realixe his true feelings till later in the story. The first kenshin OAV basically gives background during the Meiji/Edu war. Kenhin as a kid, how he was trained, and how he became who he was. The series picks up as Kenshin as the rouroni meeting Kaoru, and progresses as Kenshin's past comes back to haunt him. It follows the manga almost exactly till the middle of the series, after the Kyoto saga, when it starts it's own little thing. The second Kenshin OAV, Seisouhen, deals with that part in the manga the series didn't have, the Revenge arc. Which Tomoe's (Kenshin's first wife) brother Enishi, comes to kill Kenshin for killing his sister (he witnessed it). And it goes into the future. Kenshin's son, Kenji, Yahiko gorwn up and everything.
Sorry I rambled on, but it's such a wonderful series. The movie is also out there which is just another Kenshin side story dealing with his past.

Who should be responsible for the moral education of a child?
Transtic Nerve replied to ChibiV's topic in General Discussion
Parents... hell you're not a parent if you don't! It's not society, thats for sure. I'm not gonna raise kids. If it were up to me, everyone in here would be passing common sense tests or they'd be shot. Schools should be but it's those stupid parents that elect those stupid officials who make stupid decisions which just make their child... you guess it... stupid. -
