Err right... looks really stupid. Just like those ridiculous movies about cheerleading. What a waste of film. Thats why these type of movies will never win an oscar, they just suck.

I doubt they are banning the word GAY in it all. I bet they are banning the word "gay" used in a negative manner, like someone said "That looks gay" or "that game is gay" or whatever. I didn't know the brits used it on TV to be honest. America stay clear of that subject pretty much. We have gay related TV shows and movies, but we don't say "gay" or "queer" or "******" on TV in negative ways. We say queer sometimes, but it's usually to portay some negative characters or kids or something. But yeah, it would be good if they did this. As far as negativity goes. i dunno british law that well, but if you ban this word, misewell ban every word that has negative connotation.

I know for a fact that the boards would be handed over... however, theOtaku.com I don't know... I'm sure it would be offered to someone but there's alot of money in this site and theOtaku.com. SOmeone trustworthy and with money would have to take it all over... I don't see that happening anytime soon though. So I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not an Otaku... unless you mean like... member of OB... in which case... I never went to TheOtaku first... I was introduced fully to the boards and their dubby-ness when it was full of dubbies... ahh how times have changed... My intention was to come here and edicate those of duby-ness to what real anime and true anime is and how it probably has changed through the dubbing process. And to show the wonders of Japanese music... However with 90% of those missions completed, I have just grown to like the place. Friends and whatnot. For some reason people latched on to the "respect TN" thing and before you knew it I was a mod and then an SM... So I stayed and never joined another anime board, although I've been to J-Music boards briefly... I just don't have time for anything else... as you can probably tell, modding a 2000+ member board is tough work, just ask James lol. He's got tons. Anyway, yeah... I'm here because it's my volunteering job to be here... and because I have too many goof friends and other people I can't just leave to fend without me :p

I think punishing kids for BAD grades is good, but to punish kids for not getting straight A's (which by the way is perfect and noone will remain perfect) is absolutely stupid. If her father got straight A's in HS, I'd be surprised. Usually SMART people would be able to figure out how hard it was for them or how hard it may be for their offspring. Then again... but notalot of people go through HS with Straight A's..

I bought the 4-disc set the day it came out, along with SW Ep II, and I am yet to watch it lol. I'm so lazy... I have so many other movies!

I hate parents who expect their kids to get straight A's. they are STUPID to think that any kid could get perfect grades all the time. I mean, ask your dad what he got when he was in high school. I bet it wasn't straight A's. Thats when they shut up. My dad used to expect that from us... "A B!?" he'd say... yeah... a b... which is ABOVE AVERAGE.... so BE HAPPY and then he's shut up because he KNOWS that I'll whip out his old report cards... the ones with the F's and the D's and the "He did nothing this semester" written on it. You have to have leverage on your parents in all ways. Thats the trick to it all. Plus I mean, you're taking AP or pre AP, whatever the hell that means, classes... which I assume are much harder. When I took AP classes, I wasn't expected to get an A and I didn't. A C in AP classes is equivalent to an A in a regular class. be smart.... know your facts and then tell your parents. Grounding doesn't do anything either. It won't make your grades go up and it won't change anything. No offense, but your dad needs a CLASS in parenting... see what grade he gets in that... I bet it's not an A....

I am trying to relate here... being gay myself I can actually put myself into Shy's shoes... but also, I can't.... He's not out, I am... When I told my friends, I didn't and don't expect them to keep it secret from others because the responsibility of coming out tells that you are ready for anyone to know. HOWEVER, being FRIENDS (key word here) they also have the obligation not to do what will harm myself or their other friends. By telling others that you are gay can and probably will (depending on the environment you live in) cause some sort of damage or harm. I often wonder how many people go up to my friends and ask them "Is Chris gay?" or whatever they may say. And I can't honestly think there have been any. I haven't heard many stories of people going to a friend of a gay person and asking if they are gay unless they, themselves, had some ample amount of proof, or in fact were gay themselves. Straight people tend to stay clear of that subject, either not wanting to know, or too scared to know. Plus it's very rude to talk about other people when they aren't around. I don't answer questions about my best friend when someone asks something that may be considered bad to them. It's not my place... just like it wouldn't be my place to say "yes" or "no" to anyone who asked if a friend of mine was gay. The simple and the ONLY answer anyone should ever use is "I don't know" whether or not you do or don't. There's a difference between telling the truth and hurting someone and if telling the truth will hurt someone who doesn't deserve to be hurt, then whats the use. I always tell people that being gay is something personal that NO ONE else needs to know so if you don't want to tell someone then don't. They have no business in your private life. What you do and who you love doesn't effect them in any way, which is why I could never understand the bigottry of gay people. gay people do not pose any harm nor do they threaten the way of life for straight people. Hell we really don't want anything to do with your lifestyle as much as you don't want anything to with ours. There is obviously a big line in truth. Your friend has no place telling others about you. that in the friend handbook if he failed to recieve that int he mail. And if he's not your friend anymore, it's in the respect handbook which he can get up his own a$s anytime he wants. if it's not important to the person I'm telling then it absolutely doesn't need to be said. That is all.

I tend to speak up alot more on this platform (message board/internet) more than I would if this were a real life debate center or something. But my basic emotions are the same. I think what I say on the boards and I think no different in real life. I suppose this particular thread addresses the manner of which the thought is said on the boards. I can be different. I am not afraid for reactions I get here because they aren't personal in matter, unless ofcourse I know the person personally. If I tell some newbie he's stupid and bans him, that would have little to no effect on me because a) I can't see his personal reaction and b) I dont know him, never will know him, and most likely never will see him again. Ofcourse someone's gonna act different on the web, whether more outgoing (me for example) or more harsh or just plain annoying and cocky. I've noticed, including myself, people tend to be alot, ALOT more cocky and arrogant online than if they were in real life. With no personal interactions, people tend to be that way. Wanting to put themselves at an advantage over someone who cannot see who the true person really is.

I like how many of you think that with republicans, the government doesn't control your life.... This is an obviously false thought. The government controls your life in almost every aspect. Reagrdless democrat or republican. I mean lets look at the current administation.... Your rights are continually being abused by our government in the view of safety, but still, your rights are being abused. After 9/11, if you were of Middle Eastern decent or even looked Middle Eastern, you were automatically assumed to be a threat. Then if you said one thing bad or even mentioned 9/11 you were detained for days if not weeks or months. And stillt he view of SOME (key word there) republicans is that strong notion of majority rules. In any case, race, gender, whatever. By not giving rights to some people, thats controling them beyond any way. Anti-abortion is controlling what women do. I am not trying to flame republicans, I'm just saying that there is no way in hell you are gonna think that by electing or being a republican that the government will not control your life in this country. They will, they have, and they are right now. Republican, Democrat and everything in between.

This has been asked a bajillion times before... and it's not really appropiate here because it doesn't do anything... so... yeah... and it was supposed to be in anime... it's closed now so whatever.

People should learn to pay attention to politics. I can honestly say I had no intrest is the subject till I took government in high school and then I was all into it and still am. Politics runs the way you live, it's probably best alot of you pay attention to it regardless of what party affiliation or non-party affiliation you are. The reason we have bad candidates and stupid people running our countries is because no one cares anymore. No offense to Bush, but he's not exactly the best person to have in office and if you think he is YOU know nothing of politics. Same goes for Gore if he would have been elected. My mother never voted for a long time, my father doesn't at all. Now myself and my mother do. I'm trying to get my brother to but it seems hopeless seeing as how he can't tell the difference between and elephant and a donkey (PUN intended). If more people payed attention, we'd have larger voter turn outs and thus have a better condidate for whichever office.

Search for the song called "Take Your Chance" by Fun Factory. That has a bus stopping at the very beggining of the song. If you edit the mp3 to just get the beggining, it'll be perfect. The song is pretty cool by itself as well. As for this topic, I don't think it's appropiate. So I ask if anyone reads this and knows of a song or sound effect to PM JCBaggee.

I have a very very very strong liking to Yakusoku wa Iranai from Tenku no Escaflowne. One of my all time favorites... Through the Night from Outlaw Star is good as well. Kenshin's opening sucked. I hate Judy & Mary, but their ending themes always rocked. The Yellow Monkey, TM Revolution, Bonnie Pink, Siam Shade, and L'Arc~en~Ciel did those endings. Very good stuff. And ofcourse Zankoku Na Tenshi No Teze from Evangelion. The Pocket Monsters first theme is good as well.

They did a front page special on it in the last issue of GamePro. It basically looks like another DB: Final Bout with faster moving characters and more of them. It may be ok the first few times you play it, but it'll get old.

I'm a registered Democrat, however that doesn't mean I vote straictly democratic when it comes to issues. I'm liberal when it comes to domestic issues; ie: Minority rights, women's choice, pro gun control, etc etc (however it doesn't apply to every single issue) and republican when it comes to fiscal issues. I like the way the republicans run the money, even if we're in an economic slump. They tend to give more money back, but it tends to cost more in the end. It really all depends. I would register myself as independent, but I would like to vote in the primaries. However, as far as I see politics, I only think of two things.... Republicans don't know when to shut their mouths and Democrats don't know when to keep their pants on.
