Originally posted by Endymion To quote Kent Brockman, "excuse my editorial laugh!" Did you just refer to SOS Save Our Sailors? That's the site that said if everyone bought plain strawberry Poptarts on the same day, new episodes of Sailormoon would be dubbed and aired. That's the site that said new episodes would be released if everyone bought Luna-P toys. Oh, and it's the site that said Sailor Uranus wasn't a lesbian.
It's also a site run by rabid fangirls who know nothing about the real Sailor Moon. It's obviously a joke.
Originally posted by Endymion DBZ is not the greatest series in the world, but I still like it. Yes, FUNimation did a lot of changes to the show and no, I don't like a lot of them. But doesn't FUNimation subtitle the episodes on DVD, too? This is a serious question, I'm not throwing any harsh opinions on you. Do they put unedited subtitles on the DVDs?
Yes they put subbed Japanese episodes on the DVDs. But they are translated by Funimation staff and still subbed with slight changes int he dialogue. However, fan subs do this as well. Probably more so.
Maybe it's me, but at some point, I actually got over it! Honestly, they're almost through with the series. All the complaining isn't going to make them backtrack and re-dub the entire series all over again.
No, and I don't want them to re-dub the series. I have no problemw ith the fact they dub it or the fact people watch it. The problem I have is that people come to boards like this or make their own sites and base their nowledge totally off of the dubs they've seen. And then their info is totally incorrect and they spread this fake knowledge and everyone becomes corrupt with something that isn't true. Thats the problem I have with it. I mean, people still think DBAF is real. 90% of those people are dubbies. Because they don't realize the show has been over for years and that Toriyama has beeter things to do with his life. Like take care of his kids. Or do other manga/games.
Originally posted by Dragon Warrior Not Monkey Boy, but close. His name is "Stone Monkey", but most just called him "Monkey." And so, as I said in the tale, his mother named him Goku because he needed a better name. I've read a lot of versions of this story. Trust me. He's Goku.
There are different versions of the story as you've said. In the story i know, his name was Monkey Boy. Actually, he did have another name, but it wasn't Gokou. I don't remember it though.
Originally posted by rMs It was even about the topic you dumb people. Yu-Gi-Oh you remember that cool show.
Wow, that was incredibly mature of you In fact I;ve never seen a smarter and more mature comment in my whole life. Why don't you shut the heck up. If you wanna know if Yu-Gi-Oh is cool, get off your lazy butt and watch it yourself. Till then, don't double post again... which BTW IS SPAM
Originally posted by Saiyan_monkey The characters name was really Goku? Wow, I new DB was based on a myth or legend or something, but I didn't know it was based that closely on it. Well, thanks, now I've been enlightened, lol.
No the characters name wasn't goku.... it's was "Monkey boy" or somethign to that effect If you want a more current reinterpretation of the Chinese myth, go watch that live action DragonBall movie. Apart from the space ships and junk, it's just another contemporary interpretation of the myth, seeing as how that movie is Chinese.

Yes, I'm so biased because I like to see something ORIGINAL, and not torn up and throw back at me. I just have a problem with the complete changes they do. It's ok to change a few things here and there, but when you go overboard and change the whole dislogue, no.... WHy can't DBZ be like Gundam Wing or Outlaw Star where changes were at a minimum. But no, they had to be like Sailor Moon and Pokemon and change the whole f-ing story around. (although DBZ isn't NEAR as bad as those two) I fail to see your point in this topic. What do you disagree about? That the FUNImation episodes are actually decent? Watch the original, and then come back and tell me the same. The whole thing is like this. What if you were a music star and you wrote lyrics and made a song in english. And then some other country decided to dub their language in your music, but they changed the whole lyrics. How would that make you feel? The whole meaning of your song is lost. All you have left is the music, and DBZ doesn't even have THAT!

Linkin Park isn't a rock band. Half the crap today isn't rock. Linkin Park has it's own unique sound. Kinda falls into all cateogries.
Originally posted by White Digivise I hate to proove you wrong, but the ratings were astoundingly high. It's just that since Sailor Moon attracts girls, and Hamutaro needs boys to survive they switched it. i did my research. You want me to proove it? Just got to Save our Sailors (SOS) Campaign headquarters.
That doesn't proove anything. Like I said. If the ratings were high, they wouldn't have taken it off. They may be high, but obviously not high enough. Cartoon Network is a company. Companies do things for money. If it's going to take money away from them, they aren't going to do it. It's BUSINESS! It's how the world is run. If you want proof of that, watch the news sometime and stop swooning over a crappy cartoon.
Originally posted by AlmightySSJ4 Has anyone heard the remix of 'In The End'? I liked the original, and I like the remix even better.
This should really go in the Reanimation topic. This topic is about the "new" songs by Linkin Park, not their remix album.
Yes, old songs.....but not here....you said it yourself....released in foreign countries. So in other words for those who live here....its probably new to them.
Which still makes them old. I don't hand you songs from the 1970's from Japan and say they are new songs.... They may be new to unsuspecting ears, but to me, they are old songs.
Originally posted by genkai_yyh okay,er, dump her, smack down on him, etc...... acording to wrist cutter you always have porn, so.. jk, really, you could just get a new, SMARTER girlfriend, eh?
I'm sorry, but some of you are just missing the whole point. The girl didn't do anything. She was gonna dump him ANYWAY. He was being mean to her, and obviously, this is just another example. And if it was his friend, then, still. What difference does it make. Can you honestly say reading all that that you wouldn't have done the same thing. It was confusing enough to read that crap, and I'm sure it wasn't much easier for her. The girl IS smart. She dumped him. Thats the smartest thing I've read in this whole topic.
hmmmmm. well. TN, how will you know if the person will ultimately hurt you. Exactly. you dont. I dont judge a person by there past. Therefore, i am pretty trusting. However, that ended up getting me 2 broken knuckles on monday night.
As far as not knowing if your friend will cause harm. Well if you don't know a person well enough to know he/she might cause harm to you or others around you in anyway, that person obviously isn't your friend. And to leave your computer screen name open and all to someone who you obviously know nothing about is pure neglegence on your part and the only person to blame for the way the situation ends up is yourself. Plus I don't believe this guy at all. I think he wrote all of this. I don't think his "friend" was in the picture at all.

Carousel might be new (I've never heard of it), but My December and High Voltage are all old songs. They were released on Hybrid Theory in foreign countries, like Japan. They also released a liv albums. Well it was more like a maxi-single then an album but yeah. I'm downloading Carousel right now.
Originally posted by James It sounds to me that she was planning to dump you before that conversation...so I don't think she thought you were dumping her; she just thought you were acting like an idiot and it made her angry.
Exactly. She was planning on dumping you anyway, so why are we having this conversation? You have obviously been mean to her. She said it herself. And to tell ou the truth, I think you wrote everything up there. I don't think your "friend" was there at all. As far as I'm concerned, you don't need a girlfriend and she should have gotten rid of you a long time ago.
Originally posted by White Digivise Oh, my God.... I post this thinking people will acyually care, and then I read what they all have to say. Thank you, thank you all for saying all this about one of my favorite shows. I've only been watching Sailor Moon for a short time now so I'm not tired of it. In fact, me and my best friend are big fans and have other friends who give all the inside scoop on what's going up. I already new about Neptune and Uranus and that's good for them, but it's no skin off my back. And yes, I have also read the comic books. I have the first six comic novels, and there fine, but it's nice to actually watch the show. So thank you, thank you all for eating the whole idea of this thread and spitting it out in my face.
Well, technically the thread is on topic. They just have different views then you do. You said that they took it off despite the good ratings you claim and that they wanted more "boy cartoons." We just disagree... and feel the re people ason they took it off, at least I think, is because it's an absolute horrible show. Maybe if they left it with it's original format, more boys would watch. You know, with all the lesbian inuendos involved. Boys would eat that crap right up. You also must realize that topic don't always do what you want them to do. You are posting in a public forum and people are freely responding to you. People aren't gonna do what you want them to do or say what you want them to say. It's just not gonna happen. What did you want to hear."Oh that sucks, I always watch SM, it's great"? People just don't like the show anymore and don't watch it. The ratings were obviously not that high or they wouldn't have taken it off. That would be raitional or business like. It's all about the money, not boys or girls. They have better anime to replace it with. Newer anime to American audiences. Like someone said, G Gundam. Or Ed, Edd, And Eddie. or whatever they decide to replace it with.
Originally posted by Cera I haven't a clue. 'Roxy89' just caught my eye. I don't read internet slang. If someone's 'too lazy' to take the extra six seconds to use decent English, what makes them think I'm going to spend the extra six minutes deciphering it? Not worth my time.
YOU GO GIRL! ::high five::

Ok, that was the most pathetic thing I've ever read. Either you wrote that, in which case, you're incredibly stupid... or your friend wrote that. In either case you are incredibly stupid for letting him on your screen name and then letting him do whatever he wants. I have no remorse for people who surround themselves with others who will ultimately harm them.

Ugh, what a waste of time watching that crappy dub Sailor Moon.... they only tore it to shreads and then sold the little peices back to America's unsuspecting youth. It's a horrible show. Thats why it's not on anymore.
Originally posted by BabyGirl I definitely like this better than your previous one, Aries. I like it when all of the colors in a banner coincide rather than conflict (which, sadly, happens in far too many images). I'm also a fan of the overall muted tone in this banner because it more easily shows the contrast between light and dark areas. The only thing I would suggest changing is the font, but I know it's sort of your signature font :whoops: I just think that a different style would look better with this particular banner. Overall Aries, I think this is one of my favorite banners you have done thus far ^_^
OMG! Did you make your banner BG? Because, if so, not only is it super cool (I sound like the brady bunch all of the sudden) but it's such a pun! Incubus.... In-cube-us.... and it uses cubism as a style.... whee.... anyway, sorry to intrude here, I just had to say that.
Originally posted by Darkened Skye -Why would they make movies that don't connect to the series?
The movies are based on a totally different story line. Kinda like how Resident Evil didn't have anything to do with the games.... see? The movies and the series have no intertwining. What characters you see in the movies, you will most likely never see in the series, with the exception of Garlic Jr.

Zach was a hottie ::cries:: He was probably one of my first crushes.... lol. He was! And then I used to watch Saved by the Bell: The New Class or whatever.... on Sundays at 10 or something... and there was this hot guy on there too! I think the actors name was Ben Gould. Anyway yeah.... i wuv the SBTB :)
Originally posted by Aries I was admiring it from some other forum. It's nice how you used the lines, dots, and faded text. Simplicity is great, and the way you ordered it is great. The pictures are great as well, I remember the one in front from somewhere...an old banner of yours, maybe?
I've never used that pic before. Although, he does somewaht look like Kyo from Dir en grey. In real life, Hakuei is rather tall, and Kyo.... well.... he's not lol. My old Dir en grey banner was simplistic. I didn't put alot of time in it. a picture with a few design lines and text and that was it. Can anyone tell me why the prefered the old one?
Originally posted by projekt_navi Are you all kidding me ... the cd sucks!! linkin park didn't turn into rap ... nope .. they turned into pop!! 0_0 (Listen to In The End Remix) I only like the By Myself Remix, the rest sucks!!!
Ok, you must be smoking crack. In the End remix is nothing but pure hip hop. It's not pop at all. And as far as your theory goes, what friggin American rock band hasn't turned into pop in the last 5 years? America is so messed up on their labels EVERYTHING goes from one thing to another in a matter of days. I understand people like groups to stay with their roots, but guess what? They normally don't. I thought some of you would be able to figure that out on your own, but I guess it's to difficult for the simple minded, ignorant America.

Initally, only 4 did survive. Vegita, Raditzu, Nappa, and Gokou. As far as the series goes, thats true. Remember the movies have nothing to do with the series. So Taurus, Brolli, and Paragus aren't really included in that theory.

I needed a new banner because the Dir en grey one was getting old. And so I did a new one. This was originally supposed to be a PENICILLIN banner (the group HAKUEI sings for) but I stumbled acorss something I liked and made this. I like the way it turned out. Different and slightly unique for me. I dunno, I did some experimentation with this one. Not so much different, but oh well. So yeah, do you like?
Originally posted by Xekor First of all, Gackt isn't a "band". He's a solo artist, who left a "band", by the name of Malice Mizer. Kickass? I don't think he is anymore. I preferred him in his MM days. As for DLQ, I'm split. I used to really adore their music, until I really dove into visual kei. To be honest, they're not that great. While they will get much praise, they're really all about the looks. And compared to some of the other bands in the industry, they're nothing special. Finally, it irritates me to no end to hear someone call someone else an "otaku". It's an insult, and is used in horrible situations. But, I'll "ignore" the "ignorance", and realize you're blindly using the term, guessing it means a person who is interested in Japanese culture, etc. Gah? *pissy*
Yes you are pissy tonight.... I sure hope you aren't like that all the time because it's incredibly annoying to read... Technically, Gackt the person isn't a band, but his music could be considered a band. He uses the same people to play his music. He has a band with him called Gackt Job that he always uses. So yeah, technically Gackt could be considered a band. As far as Due le quartz goes, I enjoy their music to some extent. Probably more than most other indie bands. Not only their music, but their looks intrigue me. They are probably one of the few bands out there that really take time and effort into really looking good. They ALWAYS look elequant and they stick out easily from any other Visual band out there. Probably them and Kagerou stick out the most. At least in their style of visual Kei. Finally, pyro_kai, the ONE banner in your sig can have a MAXIMUM width of 500 pixels and a MAXIMUM heights of 100 pixels. Yours exceeds that, so I ask you to please change it. Thank you.
