1. The rating system is VERY biased aganst certain elements. I'm just gonna throw out a real quick example. There was a movie that was released last year called "L.I.E." It was a B-film released by an independent film company who's name I can't remember. Anyway, it was rated NC-17 on the specific basis that it delt with the idea of a pedophile. It never showed anything obscene or the likes, Just the implied idea. Which was the whole basis of the movie. A boy, who struggles with life and his own sexuality after his mother dies, befriends another boy. This other boy ends up being basically a gay hook-up. He has sex with everyone and anyone. Which is also not shown, just implied through the dialogue. And then the other boy who's mother died ends up befriending this pedophile and so on and so on. The argument was that this should have never been givin an NC-17 rating. There was a famous movie, who's name I have forgotten, that delt with a pedophile to. But it was a girl, not a boy in this case, and that movie was rated R. L.I.E. (which stands for Long Island Expressway) was probably one of the most dramatic films I've ever seen. It was praised for it's great acting but shot down due to it's subject matter. And due to this rating, some people were prevented from seeing it I don't agree witht he way the rating system is done. A secret select group rates these films. No one knows anything about them, their names, who they are, what they look like. They are completely unknown. But oh well. What are we gonna do.
 2.
Originally posted by DarkOrderKnight There is already a thread for Linkin Park: Reanimation Transitic. But in responce to your question, i have only heard a few of their songs on the remix CD. From what I have heard, though, they are great. I love the original CD and will most likely love this one as well. And your right... It does look like a Gundam. :D
I see that now. I didn't before because I was looking for threads with the title "Linkin Park" and since this is just called Reanimation, I just skimmed right over it. And thanks BG Yeah they changed tempos throughout the whole mix or various songs. Thats how remixes are done typically. Hmm, however, are you sure the lyrics for In the End are the same from the original to this, might I add CRAPPY, version of it on the remix CD.
 3. Yeah, this is kinda like those threads that ask "whats your AIM s/n" or whatever, which imply the use of simple or one word responces, which are against the rules. So yeah, just leave this in your sig.
 4. Favorite threads are typically not allowed. Plus this type of thread involving these two subjects has been overused many many times.
 5. But the want of new music is fulfilled. I can only hear an album so many times before it goes back into the booklet and away for a few months. With new singles after the album for upcoming albums, I get my fulfillment for new singles and a stronger want for the album when it is released. I guess there's two ways to look at it. Initial want for an album or long standing want for an album. Anyway, as far as singles are concerned, they just aren't popular in America. NO one buys singles here. Why buy singles when you can buy the full album for 5 more bucks? But if you release singles before an album, people will buy the singles to hear the new music. Thus increasing the sales of singles dramatically. I think the majority reason singles are even released in America is to gain radio play. Which is like I said, about 1 singles a month before the album is released, while in Japan, they release about 3 or 4 anywhere from a year to 3 months before an album. America and Japan are the two biggest music producers in the world, and they both release things in a different way. I assume they both are successful, so there are just two ways of doing it.
 6. Now, I don't want to jump on the Linkin Park bandwaggon like the majority of America has, but I like Linkin Park because their music is unique and not because everyone else does.... now anyway, Linkin Park's new "album" Reanimation was released July 30th and I must say this is a weird step for them. Not everyday do you hear of a rock band making remixes... and Linkin Park is probably not what is considered the typical rock band though. Anyway, has anyone heard this album yet or picked it up or anything? I am a huge fan of remixes. I love remixes and coming from a fan who loves Trance music, I hear TONS of them. An interesting twist on alot of songs. Kinda goes hand in hand with Crystal Methods new remix album released recently. Which had a remix of POD I'm sure you've all probaby heard. A nice direction for music to head in. Deffinantly adding a little something more to America's semi-bland music industry. Not to mention this album has what looks like a Gundam on the cover. I hate gundam, but thats kinda cool. I merged ^_^ -BG
 7. I find this pretty funny... all you people whining about school... I haven't even gotten OUT of school yet. Plus, you'd all be stupid if it weren't for school. As bad as the system is, it's still good for something. I'm sure as you mature more, you'll come to appreciate the intelligence you MAY have gained from going to school. If not, then you won't last long in the real world. And yes, College and University are the same thing. In America there are basically 2 types of colleges... Community College, which is like cheaper in price, not nationally known, etc etc.... and a University. Which is a bigger, more expensive school etc etc.
 8.
Originally posted by Omniroth It says "about" how much do you know, it dont ask how much you know. I think i know about all of it. So basicly... :p
An Average person in Japan knows about 2000 Kanji (there are more than 2000).... and you know... 197 words.... thats neither fluent, nor anywhere near all the Kanji. 2 years of American public schooling in a different language will not get you anywhere near fluent.
 9. I prefer the Singles before the album. Why? Simply because the Majority of people simply don't pay attention to singles. At least not in countries where they are released after the initial album. I actually become impatient. I pay attention to the albums more than any singles, and since singles can't really be found in regular stores in America, like department stores, people just don't care. So in the middle, there's a complete laps in the group. It seems like it takes much longer to make somethig new. I've already wore out their music. I'm bored for 6 months or whatever. Typically in America, a group releases one single before an album... and it's like a month before the album is released... so you have that laps inbetween. With Japanese music and releasing singles before an album, I always have new music to look forward to, And it also gives me a perspective on what the newer music may or may not sound like. But yeah, never payed attention to singles before I got into J-Music... and I really don't now. What little American music I listen to, I just hear about the album, and only care about the album.

 11.
Originally posted by wrist cutter I don't think there's many things I'm addicted to... I mean, I do somethings a lot, but I think I could stop if I had a reason to. Like music... I love music, and everything about it, but I could stop if there was a reason to I think. There's definitely one addiction I have though that I can't stop... I'd rather it remain personal however.
AHH! Why do I know what that is!? Anyway.... I don't get addicted to things. I never could. At least not yet. Ihave my strong likes and dislikes, but nothing relaly addicted to. If needed, I COULD stop looking at Gackt....

 13. Yes, 4 levels. It's really quite easy to find these simple little questions out.
 14. I guess I was the only one on OB who didn't know what Shine Get was.... :p But now that I know.... .... uhh.... knowing is half the battle? GIJoe?.....
 15. This would fall under the useless topic category, which is not allowed. If you all know it's not allowed, why do you post in it?
 16.
Originally posted by Mnemolth Oh good grief TN, that has to be one enormous leap you just took. Talk about hyperbole! I have no idea what you're on about, never read anything about it, or anything about the bill, but I can pretty much say from my ignorance that what you just said is nothing more than pure unadulterated scare-mongering, and verges on total crap if it isn't already there. :)
Ok, read it for yourself then http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/industry/07/25/copyright.reut/index.html Please don't act like an as$hole next time. Esspecially since you have no idea what I'm talking about. Watch the news sometime and then maybe you won't look like an idiot. I said what I heard from that newscaster lady. There's the article with better information.
As for the legality of downloads, it was NEVER illegal to download songs, or videos, or software. Just the ones with copyright on them, and which gave you no rights to distribute them. Which basically covers everything you want to download I guess, but there's a VAST ocean of software & songs out there where you ARE entitled to download them. Stuff like Linux, game patches, demo songs, first releases, etc.
Well yeah. But you see, people are downloading more of what is illegal, and less of what isn't. And the only way to stop the downloading of what is illegal is to stop it in a whole. If people weren't downloading illegal things, we wouldn't be having this dicussion.
 17. Yeah that Kanji is really out of place. It doesn't even mean anything.
 18. There's a new bill going into congress that says that a special agency against internet piracy would have the right to secretly hack into your computer and shut the internet down forever if they catch you downloading music or video. This bill hasn't passed yet, and probably won't. It just goes to show that alot of you need to keep track of whats going around you as far as legalization of things on the internet. I'm not sure how they will end up enforcing this law. It'll be almost impossible, and yet another way for America to waste money on things they can't stop.
 19.
Originally posted by wrist cutter I can't... I don't have it with me here in NC... I brought all my L'Arc CDs but as we know, natsu no yuuutsu [time to say good-bye] was only on a single... and I only have the albums :(
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting you are on my side of the country now lol. I'll just go download it somewhere....

 21. Lets try to stay on topic shall we? Anyway, I've not known a break from school in a year now... My summer starts in a week and it last for about 20 days.
 22.
Originally posted by Final_Flash I'm all for freedom of speech TN, but why do you have to post if all you're doing is bringing SOAD down? Anyway, I like system of a down. I bought Toxicity, still like Chop Suey. :)
This topic has to have some life to it. I mean, it's pretty boring when all a topic is is people saying that System of a Down is good. I mean, not only is that sickening to hear (for me), it's boring and repeatitive. Naturally there is going to be someone who is not going to agree.... and it's just convienent that it's me :) Plus, all should know by now I like to voice my opinion, whether it negative or possitive.
 23. Off subject. You are only allowed ONE banner/image in your sig. You have two. Please remove one. Thank you On Subject. Laruku is quite possibly one of the best, if not the best, band around today. Their music is a mix of rock and pop and so much more. Their soothing yet powerful sounds produce some of Japan's (and all of Asia) favorite music. Hyde has a wonderful voice most of the time. ken's guitaring is absolutely amazing. Tetsu'd bass is top knotch with the best. And Yukihiro's drumming... well.... Yuki sucks..... I much prefer Sakura.
 24.
Originally posted by wrist cutter Mine would be working on jikannohizumi.net...
lol, you'll just plug the hell outta the site whenever the opportunity arises eh? Uhh biggest accomplishment.... I dunno.... 25.
Originally posted by BabyGirl And, of course, they're the only band in the world with a name that doesn't make sense :whoops:
Well I didn't say they were the only band. I just said their name doesn't make sense. There's plent of bands who have names that don't make sense..... like... Dir en grey.... lol
