Err, thank you for TELLING me NOW... :therock: Oh well, there's still time, no hurry... I'll post the recruitment-thread in feww weeks, and the game itself is probably starting in the turn of February. Zerosaber, unfortunately all the info is "top-secret", and between the maker-group for now, but I'll reveal much of it in the recruitment-thread. For now it seems that I can't choose EVERYONE who'd want to participate, but don't fall into despair, there's room for ten peeps or so. More later! And Ginny, send me your sketches via e-mail, please!

Well, guess what? I just got a PM from Bent Metal, who was interested to be the host of OB Survivor 2, so the future is all up to him now... As for the current voting, the winner will be announced in Tuesday! And lastly, a traditional question for Athena and Geroshi: Why should you become the Freakiest Survivor, and not the other one?
-
Sage, the insane host of Survivor Freakshow: I wish to welcome everybody to the Bollywood Studios here in New Delhi, India. This is the place where the final voting event of Unofficial Otakuboards Survivor: The Freakshow is going to happen. At the beginning there were twelve brave contestants who defied the dangers of my hostile, often even lethal city. Yet the candidates were not quite sane either, so they did pretty well. This is the point we have arrived: two have remained out of the twelve, and the other one of these two will be given the title of the Freakiest Survivor in the World Wide Web. The rules are as follows: EVERYBODY can - and should - vote, and I will return at the end of this week to announce the winner, and hand the prize. Until then, please ASK QUESTIONS from the two candidates (especially you who have participated to this contest). This way you can define your favorite better - and please, you two candidates, ANSWER the asked questions. Finally, I'll introduce the two persons - both women - who are fighting for this title: Athena/Daisy, 20 years old schizophrenic moonchild! Geroshi, 500 years old pervert hamster-hag! Which one of them will be the Freakiest Survivor in the WWW? It's all up to you!

[offgame: AHEM!!! C_L, would you mind to stop doing MY JOBS?! :therock: I will decide what will happen to Rabid! Now, we will give a Final Spin to the Wheel of Misfortune!] Sage: So be it. Athena, Geroshi, you are the two final Survivor-candidates. Rabid, we'll go to the Council area. Follow me! Sage, Candy, Rabid and the two last survivors appear in front of the Wheel of Misfortune. Candy: Take a spin, Rabbit! :D *gets a murderous glare from Rabid* The commando spins the Wheel, and the arrow stops at: "Face the ghosts of the past!" Suddenly, three ghosts surround Rabid. Celine Dion's ghost: So, you think you could get away from our murder, oui? :therock: Rabid: Well, not actually... Luciano Pavarotti's ghost: Mama mia, you are going to SUFFER! Rabid: Oh really? :smirk: Darren Hayes's ghost: *waves at the girls* Hiya ladies! Sorry, but I'm feeling a bit DEAD now, so I can't join you. But YOU... *turns to Rabid* ...I will dedicate an eternity to YOU! Rabid: How sweet... ;) The three ghosts began to haunt Rabid as she walks away. Rabid: Well, buh-bye to y'all! I guess I'm going home with these geezers... *pulls out her guns and shoots final shots to the air* AY-AY-AY!!!*vanishes* Sage: So, two of you left. Time to the final voting! Say goodbye to your Crimsonata-tribe, your Polygon-tower and to this entire city with it's monsters and robots - we're of to BOLLYWOOD STUDIOS in India! [offgame: Thank you all, it's been a pleasure. We will now change thread, so check out "Unofficial OB Survivor: The Freakshow - Final Voting!"-thread.]

Yes, right in the middle of all this talk about FFX-sequel and FFXI-RPG I'll throw a fresh(?) teaser image from FXII! Nothing spoiler-y about this, just a scenery-pic, so don't be afraid to see the attachment. Just to add some salt to this thread, I want to ask you: is the square-people gone completely insane? This kind of bombing with new games is going to kill us poor fanatics!!! Thankfully FFXII isn't due until years ahead...
-
A: I think she was earlier, from what I've learned in my netsurfing sessions... I remember seeing her name among the FF4-summoning monsters, so could it be FF4 then? Q (in case I'm right): Another from FF6: What was the name of Cyan's wife? (Extra credit: The name of Cyan's son?)
-
I remember that Ark had an attack that put all characters HP to 1 - and it loved to use that attck!*groan* Luckily I had Freya in the party, and she was jumping almost all the time, so she wasn't there when the boatie leashed the attack, thus being able to cure the others...

Umm... *quietly* I have one, if you want a question... I haven't been able to answer any of the previous questions because I haven't been here, but I WOULD have known the Alexandria-question... if that matters... :p Q: Which are the first Espers you get in Zozo in FF6? (Heh, guess who finally bought the game? ;) ) Oh, and Devlin's question has yet to be answered as well... Those Ragtime-mouse questions were dang hard, even though there were only two options to choose from... I almost always choose the wrong one... :(

[offgame: Sorry guys, I've been taking some time off the net... But now I'm back, and everyone is happy again!:D For this time, I want to tell you how I decided the winner, so that it could be fair: calumon_luver: you shouldn't have rushed on and announce yourself to be the winner, mesa not like that! :therock: I agree that you DID post more frequently, but you didn't make much effort in any of the tasks. So, sorry but the winner isn't you... D_M: you were excellent again, but not QUITE good enough... You can't blast your way through everything... ;) So the winner of SURVIVOR MULTITHLON is...] ***************** The giant tree groaned and hissed to Geroshi and Rabid, who were faced to it, trying to get to the goal-line behind it. Geroshi: I'm not scared of you, you... you... over-decorated plastic tree! *gets a glass-ball rain on her* Rabid: Hah! Take THIS! *points her bazooka at the tree, but it throws one of it's silver ribbons to take the weapon from her* Whattafeck?! Athena comes huffing and puffing from the Battle City-arena, and sees the others in distress. Athena: Oh no! If they can't get pass it, how can I? *changes to Daisy* Shut up, biatche! I'll show you how a TRUE woman does it: by SNEAKING! Daisy waits while the two others keep the X-mas-monster busy, and tip-toes (thanks to her ballet-lessons) behind the tree without making a noise. Then she sees the goal-line, and Sage and Candy waiting behind it. Daisy/Athena: Finally, we won! Sage: Congrats and all that stuff. Now, here's your chance of a life-time: who will come with you to the FINAL VOTING, and who get's to spin the wheel one last time? Take your time, but make it quick! ************* [You can answer to this thread directly, Rain, because we all know who it is who cast the votes. NOTE: I'll be probably back in weekend, so until then...]

But Mr. Maul, you do realize that elves being tiny bearded men is the original concept of them, from tradition and folklore. All that "long, beautiful and oh-so-good"-stuff came from Tolkien and others like him. It isn't very clever to say what the elves REALLY look like, since they are fictional, and people have different views from pretty much everything, but if we think about what they look AT FIRST, they really were similar to gnomes or leprechauns - the "old people" put them in the same category. Wow, did I sound like a teacher again! ;) Sorry, didn't mean to do that...
Originally posted by GinnyLyn Personally, sage, I think you should make a serperate website for this--one of those free space website deals. I have a feeling that your big project may get sucked into the netherregions of the RPG section if we aren't careful. I need help with the art! I won't be ready by the beginning of Jan., accccccccckkkk!!! >.

Umm, is this like a "what if"-story? Because if you're talking about DA ring, you do know that
Gollum fell to Mt. Doom with it, thus destroying it?
And it wasn't the ring that destroyed Saruman, it was
his assistant Grima Wormtongue
. But in case this IS a "what if"-story, you can do whatever you want. :D Just wanted to get things clear... PS. How could you break up Legolas's and Gimli's happiness? :therock: They were so much in love... Okay, just some shipper-theories...:p

I thought the black mages in FF9 were
merely Brahne's and Kuja's doll's, Vivi being the proto-type...
Well, maybe I was just too busy admiring the views, so that I missed some of the plot-twists...

Well, here's the not-so-familiar-with-clothes-woman and his two side-kicks, I assume. If anybody can figure out the Japanese letters, we'll have their names. I tried and couldn't make anything rational out of them, so somebody else try, please!
Originally posted by Zidane Question:(Anyway)In Final Fantasy VII, of this great game existed among many ohers, a specific side character named ... Johnny. When he leaves, what is the first place you see him on. (REMEMBER, after he has left!)
Gah! Which one of them was Johnny? Can't you even give us a place he was first seen? What did he look like? Oh, there were so many... I remember Marlene, Dyne, Dio, Godo, the dark-haired SOLDIER
who was also Aeris's ex
, Biggs&Wedge&Jessie, Shinra President& his son, and all the generals and Turks... Just too darn MANY!!!

Uh, I don't know if ANY of the so-called fantasy books have been translated, but if you don't mind learning one of the most difficult languages on earth just to read some fantasy, I'll be more than happy to help you... :smirk: Well, as I said, Finnish fantasy isn't that good -at least for now. We're more of a realistic writers. Might have something to do with the gloominess of this country... :p

Complete and Official What You Got For Christmas List 2003
Sandy replied to Yu Yu Hakusho!'s topic in General Discussion
Feh, you kids always get tons of presents... Well, mine are: sister & her fiancé: - a "lavalamp"! I don't know what it is in English, but it says "Rocket Lamp" on the packing, so maybe it is that... Anyhow, I've ALWAYS wanted one! :D granny (whom I live with (dad's mother)): - a cool shirt, and a cap+gloves+scarf-set for cold winter nights. dad & his family: - new covers for my Nokia-cellphone, deodorant+hairgel (nice to know you're hygiene is taken care of ;) ). aunt & her family: - The Lords of Mystery-cd, containing eg Adiemus, Enigma and Gregorian. aunt's mother-in-law (yes, believe it or not): - poems of Federico Garcia Lorca aunt's husband's aunt (even crazier... ): - box of winegums! :D granpa & his family (my mother's father): - 20 euros! I WILL spend them on Final Fantasy VI, just have to wait for the shops to open in few days... Okay, I have a bunch of relatives from my mother's side, but we hardly keep in touch, because I've broken my bonds to "mom" - long story... But though my presents weren't so glamorous (nothing like Digital Camera or PS2), I'm quite happy with them. Just looking at my little sister (5 years old) makes me feel quite akward - she got like a dozen presents, and she just tore the wrappings, looked at the contect, said something like "Nice!" or "Yay!" and threw it aside! I bet she doesn't even use half of the gifts she got... But kids are demanding, no can do! -
Originally posted by Mako I'm a little spam boy but anyway, but I was just wondering how many posts it takes before I'm rid of the stupid "newbie" title. I hate being a n00b. :p
But hopefully you aren't actually going to spammify us just to get to the junior-member-status, because then you're out of here in no-time! ;) And I think it's unnecessary to long for the upper status, because when you're junior member, you start to think "damn, I wish I was a full member", and after that - like in my case- being "merely" a member feels akward, so you want to become an "otaku" instead. A true vicious circle, indeed (though I'm not sure if I ever want to become a "no-life"... ;) ) Anyhows, welcome to the boards, Mako! I'm sure you'll have lotsa fun around here! :D

[offgame: Sorry, I've been really "busy" (read: unable to be online), but your waiting is now awarded. Here goes: the FINAL CONTEST!] Rabid, Athena and Geroshi appear to the Central Point, where they meet Sage and Candy. Sage: So, only three of you left. Look around, and you'll notice that this is the place it all started: month ago, twelve survivor-candidates came to this square clled the Central Point, and few by few, they all have left: some more peacefully than others. It's all up to you three now. This game will determine who two will stay to face the Final Voting. The winner of this game will be able to choose one of the other two to join her. The name of the FINAL game is: Survivor Multithlon! It is a track with FIVE tasks, and the one that passes all the challenges the fastest, will WIN. The challenges are: 1. Swim across the Rapid Stream, one of the wildest rivers in the world - thanks to me. 2. Light three torches placed around the Messy March 3. Push/pull/drag/lure a stubborn donkey ten metres forward across the line 4. Shoot three heavy-armed, moving robots with the blaster-cannon on the Battlecity-track 5. Get past the giant X-mas tree throwing all kinds of decoration at you I trust you make the best out of this competition. Anyone of you might win, and guarantee her place in the final two. Survivors, GO! When the three girls are headed towards the river, Sage turns to Candy. Sage:You wouldn't want to make this too easy for them, wouldn't you? Go mess up their efforts, my-annoying-yet-useful-pixie! MWAHAHAAA!!!
-
[Waiting for the final challenge you should think back to the people that have left this game earlier, all the way from Igor to Franky and Karina. Who would've you wanted to stay? Are you perhaps glad that someone's not in the final three? Who was the most interesting/boring/frightening/pathetic? All that stuff, please! :D ]

Oh, you're pathetic, Harlequin! ;) How were you able to read Belgariad eleven times? It's a wonder you're still sane... Whoops! I see it now... :p Okay, sorry, just being a bit nasty... But honestly some of the names you guys have mentioned are utterly unfamiliar to me (like Kevin J. Anderson and David Gemmel), so I'm ot even going to start a contest with you. Luckily I have read some books you have NEVER even heard of... Finnish fantasy! Well, it's kind of taking it's baby-steps, but we have such a rich mythology behind us (the Kalevala) that some great stuff can be expected in near future... Though I'm not sure if it will ever be published in USA, but Waltari's Egyptian and few others already have, so it might happen! Okay, now I'm losing it... What am I talking about? *sighs* Its midnight here and I could be sleeping, but I'm not! Feh...

The answer to my Cleyran question was Daguerreo library. Agh, I would've known the Steiner-questions, but all the others are out of my knowledge... So a new question: Q: What was Mog's wife's name in the Mog-game in Gold Saucer in FF7? (You can almost guess it if you don't know it...) It isn't a Steiner question. It's about Chrono Trigger. oO -Break EDITED: HEY! My post...*carries it away from Break's reach jealously* ;) Okay, what are you referring to? I said I would've known the Steiner-questions that got answered, but not the others (meaning the Chrono-question as well). You can be so confusing sometimes, Break... :worried: Whoops, I'm sorry. v_v I must've misread your post. -Break
-
Whoops, I guess I've done a little error! :bluesweat: Leviathan was in FF 4 too! (And I guess in FF5 as well...) Anyhow, I was asking the water-summon in FF 6, which is Bismarck, so that's the answer... Well, there seems to be no questions to be answered now, so I guess I'll make up another one [ff9 spoiler included!!]: Q: In FF9, where was the next time you saw Cleyrans AFTER the destruction of their city? (Wonder if anybody understood...)
-
You must mean 2000, not 200, Val. ;) If you look at the members list, you see that one third of them have 1-10 posts, so two thirds have more.
-
Oh, a competition... I won't list mine here, I'll just repeat over 160. ;) Well, I bet some of you have read more, but most of mine are translated, hardback ones. And all (except LOTR) are borrowed from library. (I don't like to buy books, because after I've read them once, I will probably never read it again -plus they cost a fortune!) There are dozens of English softback fantasybooks in library too, but usually I don't have time for them... Plus they are said to suck...
