1.
Almost all of the "not quite right" anatomy is gone?the only problem I see is they way you're standing; it looks like you're sort of floating.[/size']
I agree with that, the pose didn't quite end up like I pictured it in my mind - despite the fact that I rehearsed it in front of a full-body mirror. XP Also, the heads are a bit too big, as usual in my drawings, but I guess it just fits the style since I wasn't aiming for photorealism but somewhat comic caricatures. Unfortunately I so rarely find the enthusiasm to draw anymore that I feel like my skills are slowly deteorating from what they were a few years back. :/
2. Yay, thanks Beth! It looks really nice, and Ozy's orange really sticks out from the calmer blues and browns.
3.
Imagine if someone (eg KANAME CHIDORI/CHII/CHISE/ anybody you like )really does exists, would "I JUST WANT TO BE FRIENDS,THAT'S ALL" satisfy you????
Unfortunately clinging onto a real guy the same way you seem to do for anime/manga bishies (the names don't say anything to me, btw) will only cause problems. Not taking "no" for an answer will only do harm in real relationships. Also, Boo, I think the style of approach you suggested will make the girls cling onto the boy even more. In my experience, girls are suckers for indifferent guys. ;D
4. Tiana, a week always ends to a Sunday. Don't they teach anything at school anymore? *rolls eyes melodramatically*
5.
just say:It's not that i dont LIKE you,it's just that i LIKE the way we are now.I LIKE your personality when we're being friends
In my opinion, that's just one of the cheesy movie-phrases that are best to be avoided. I don't think there's any need to beat around the bushes like that. Doesn't "I just want to be friends, that's all" sound a whole lot of better and honest?
6. Frankly speaking, there's no way you can avoid not hurting her feelings. She might not show it openly, but it'll sting. But you can do it so that she'll get over it quickly and move on. Just be honest and open with your feelings, and don't try any of that old "it's not you, it's me"-crap, or worse even, give her false impressions. Explain that you don't feel the same way for her as she does for you, but it doesn't stop you from remaining her friend. I assume her "liking" has only reached the level of a crush, which means quick and full recovery. Just... don't be a jerk and you'll do fine.
7. What a strong, strong episode. Too bad I couldn't enjoy it in it's full glory due to the sucky YouTube quality, but it still touched me quite deeply. Most importantly,
L's dead now, and Light can move over that obsession. I'm eager to find out how Light will eventually fall to his own hubris, because I'm 90% sure that will happen (L's percent evaluation pun intended).
I was actually surprised by the fact that
L's death was so sudden - in the middle of a sentence - and that it was executed by Rem, and not Misa (the Goth Loli Angel of Death). But I'm glad he's gone, his continuous tests and theorizing started to irritate me, and Light ended up being smarter than him. Let's face it, L was too good for his own health.
>;P All in all, I find Death Note suberb because it let's people deal and think about their dark side, one which is in all humans. Probably in any other circumstances I would've rooted for L, but with this show, I find all these new ways of thinking inside me, and it's both intriguing and frightening.
8. My summer plans are a bit uncertain at this point because of my problems with money, but I'm hoping for the best. The biggest plan is for me and my boyfriend to spend a week in Great Britain. We'll leave at the end of June and come back at the beginning of July. First we'll fly to Edinburgh and spend a few days there, and then we'll take a train to London, where we will go to see the guest premier of the movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. No, we won't actually be going inside the movie theater to see it, just outside to gawk at the actors and other celebrities going in. Not exactly my idea of fun, but I'll do it for my loved one... ;D Shortly after that trip, it's my granny's (the one who I lived with for most of my youth) seventieth birthday, which we will be spending on a spa with the whole family attending. Other than that, I'm hoping to get some work for June and the end of July, since my school starts earlier than usual, in the middle of August. Odds are against me, but as I said I'm hoping for the best. And of course I hope that this summer will be as hot and sunny as the one last year, so I can spend time on the lakeshore beach just a few hundred meters away from the appartment block I live in. And I need to get my bike fixed as well, so I can cycle around this area I live in, which is surprisingly beautiful in summer time, compared to the ugliness of it in winters. So there, let's hope this summer is good for all of us! ;D
9. It's a very sad situation, because those who need the most amount of medicine are often the poorest of people (like senior citizens, disabled people, those with terminal illnesses such as AIDS or cancer etc.). Just shows one of the worst sides of capitalistic economy. In Finland there is a law on substitute medicines, which allows the pharmacists to change the prescripted mecidine to a cheaper equivalent, if the customer so asks. That creates some healthy competition between the medical companies.
10. Congrats on making an event that's seemingly both easily approachable and member-friendly, Whitey. ;D I'll be following it closely, perhaps I'll find myself even participating on a few rounds, even though my anime/manga-knowledge is pathetic.
11. Notice to all Teams: all team songs for this challenge must be completed by the end of this week, the sooner the better. Also, I still haven't got a rundown on the progress of Team Argo, so I just hope they're making some... :/
12.
That was a good anime show but it look like something offensive for some religions.[/FONT']
You've got to be kidding. The series' mythology is based on old Japanese Death Gods, the Shinigamis, with a little bit of twist in them in the form of the Death Notes. I have yet to see anything even remotely offensive to any religion (unless you're offended that it shows another religious mythology instead of Christianity). This series, like all anime and cartoon series, are works of fiction, where real laws of physics and real beliefs don't count. To understand that is absolutely fundamental for enjoying any type of fiction. Trust me, the people burning Harry Potter books have not understood that simple difference.
13. Whoa! 8D Congratulations on creating this amazing event, White! Now I really see that Shy picked the right person as his follower! *feels totally unworthy to even post in this thread*
14.
Edit: Whoopee, the Arena Underground is now a Subforum! =D
I fail to see what difference it makes, aside from an aesthetic point-of-view. :/ Also, I find it funny that Jokopoko is the moderator of that specific subforum, but not the other two related forums like the rest of the Mob. That reminds me, sorry Will for not including you to my portrait of the Arena Mob - especially now that you're practically one of us. As for the switch-around in general, I adore the orderly nature of it! ;D
15.
The mod rod as Sandy's drawn it resembles an electric cattle prod. Which I think is kind of fitting. :naughty:
That's what I was aiming for, actually. I just didn't know what real cattle prod's looked like so I imagined one (of course Google's image search would probably have solved that problem as well). And cancer, thank you for the coloring, it looks nice. The background could have used a bit of color as well, but I'm not complaining.
16. Ah, Death Note's back to it's good old self. No more goody-two-shoes and kawaii silliness, it's time to... KILL (BIL)L
17.
i'd color it for you if you'd like. do they have to be any certain color?
Really? Thanks! Oh, and Beth and Zeke can give it a try as well, if they want. As for colors, well, everything else is up to you, but the hair colors go something like this: Lady A. is golden blonde, me and Blayze have darker brown hair, and Ozy's hair is light brown (and fuzzy!). Ezekiel's hair changes color all the time so she can have pretty much any color, but in the picture I used as a reference she had dark red hair. I also think the suits should be "OB blue" (ie. the blue you see all around here), while the shirts are white. Except for Lady A., who should be different from us "lowlings", so maybe she could wear pink (as in the Geisha-skin)? But as said, I'll leave it up to anybody who wants to do the coloring. White: Huh?! All members? You gotta be kidding me... XP Heh, I could do one for Dessy, Daggy and Jamesy, but I only know what Des looks like. Beth: I wouldn't go as far as calling it "line art" - I just inked the sketch I did with a marker. The result is a bit sloppy too, especially with the blocks, which came somewhat as an afterthought. But thanks a lot for all of your comments!
18. The thing is, I'm not familiar with the secrets of digital coloring, and with my coloring pencils I'd just end up messing the whole paper up. :/ Yeah, I'm that sort of an artist... (only good for one type of art.) I'd love to see it in full-color as well, but since I lack the talent, I'd be honored if somebody would like to do it for me. But that's not why I posted this here, just wanted to show my view of the Mob.
19. So I got inspired, and finally sketched this piece that I have meant to do for a long time now. I did it to honor the coolest gang of OtakuBoards, ie. the Arena Mob. I think it turned out quite nice, actually, for such a quick work. Let me present: the moderators of Adventure Arena - mob-style! Beware of the rather large size, I just couldn't resize the picture properly for the life of me! In the picture here you can see, from left to right, Lady Asphyxia (as a supervisor, not so much as a mobster), myself, Ozymandius Jones, Ezekiel and Blayze. I dressed us up a bit like Turks from Final Fantasy VII, but of course with an original twist. I want to apologize if anybody's hairdo has changed by now, I used the images you posted to the OtaKuties as a reference. To point out an interesting detail, we are holding the Weapons of Moderation: the Mod Rod, pages worth of Teh Rulez, a Grammar Book and a humongous Lock to close threads with. Lady A. doesn't carry her Ban Hammer, but she's on a mobile connection with James, aka the Big Boss. So, what do you all think?
20. Monipo1928, I have to ask, is this supposed to be a recruitment thread or a game thread? There is no sign-up sheet or even description of what kind of characters you want people to play in the game, so as a recruitment thread this is too lacking. On the other hand, I didn't see any other thread with the same title, so this can't be a misplaced game thread either. The only conclusion is that you are looking for players to join your game with this thread, but you have forgotten the necessary sign-up sheet. So please edit that into your post so that the possible players will know what you want from them. Thanks! - Sandy
21. I would prefer a MIDI/MP3 without the original lyrics, Kathy, but if you can't find one, a link to a music video is just fine. I just need some version of the song to play on the background as I read the lyrics to hear how well they fit. Team Captains, please report the progress of your team in this challenge to this thread. Elaborate which team members are doing what, and in what stage your team song is at. Thanks!
22. I'm glad that this Yotsuba storyarch is over, I really look forward to the continuation of the "real" storyline. This detraction to Yotsuba seems quite odd when you look at it from Light's perspective: he assumably meant to use it to fade L's suspicions towards him, but in the end L just found out about Death Note. I just have to trust Light that this was all a bigger plan to kill L, although now that they've become such close buddies, will he really have the balls to do that? (Note that the above is just a rhetorical question, I don't want to get spoiled. ;P)
23. I'm sorry, Zet22x, but you have signed up for a game that either didn't start or has already ended, seeing as this recruitment thread was made over an year ago. When searching for a game to join, please stick to the first two pages of the Adventure Inn. The sign-up threads beyond that have already finished their recruitment. Thank you! - Sandy *thread closed*
24. I wonder how I bit his head off, Ikillion? It was a stupid thing to do, and instead of getting our compassion for it, he should realize that. ...Oh gag, I just realized that I'm starting to sound like Simon Cowell. No more American Idol for me!
25. Third time's the charm, eh? Sorry, BloodVampiress but you still fail to meet the very simple requirements of the Adventure Square Basics, even though both Blayze and Ozymandius Jones have tried to instruct you. Your game still lacks the required rating, and it still has poor grammar, and until you fix those two requirements, I suggest you stop creating threads here and try to get into things by joining the games other members have made. This thread is thus closed. - Sandy
