Their hotel room was small and modest, but Evan didn't think they would spend very many nights there. In fact, there was a chance both of their lives would end this night, as a result of a crafty trap set to all Death Note owners. "Aren't you worried we're going to die?" Evan asked Alex out of a sudden. Alex looked at him for a while and then shook his head. "We're all going to die at some point or another, there's no point in worrying it now." "Aw man, if only I could see the time of my death! Then my worries would be over!" Evan said, laying down on his bed with his hands under his head. "Didn't your Shinigami tell you about the eyes?" Alex asked confused. "The... eyes? Cygnus", Evan called his Shinigami companion, who was sitting on the small phone table. "What is he talking about?" {Oh well, you would've found it out sooner or later, so there's no point to hide it anymore}, the sad Shinigami sighed. {As a mortal possessor of a Death Note you can exchange half of your remaining lifetime to a pair of Shinigami eyes, which will allow you to see everybody's destined time of death as well as their true given names, just like the Shinigami do. The only exceptions are yourself and other Death Note holders. It's simple as that.} "Huh, is that so? Alex, you don't happen to possess such eyes?" Evan asked nonchalantly. "Oh no, I haven't even used my Death Note yet", Alex assured. "Neither have I. But tonight, I'm sure we will encounter people who have. So we have to be extra careful." ------ OoC: I'm going to include all the characters to be present at the Old Maxwell Theater, so all those who have been less active can still jump in to the events that soon unfold.
Nah, my wife is a Gemini and man-oh-man, let me tell you, after being with my wife, Gemini's should all be locked away in a mental asylum somewhere. And here I thought Sagittarius' were unpredictable...
Besides me, my mother, big sister and even our cat are all Geminis. You can only imagine what kind of crazy circus my family life was back in my childhood... ;P And now my beloved boyfriend has to suffer as well, but he's a powerful Scorpio so I know he'll manage. ;D

Zodiac signs are disturbingly interesting. I mean, how could your date of birth really truly depict your personality is beyond me, but for some strange reason, my zodiac sign fits me perfectly. Here goes... 1) What day is your birthday? June 17th, 1984 2) What is your zodiac sign? I'm a Gemini, born in the year of Rat according to the Chinese Zodiac 3) How does your zodiac sign describe your personality?
Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a lively, communicative (because of which it is considered an articulate sign), witty, inquisitive, clever, courageous, and adaptable character but one which is also prone to superficiality, maliciousness, inconsistency, cowardice, nervousness, and cunning.

Adaptable and versatile Communicative and witty Intellectual and eloquent Youthful and lively Nervous and tense Superficial and inconsistent Cunning and inquisitive

You really have little faith in yourself, which you mask with ironic wit or sarcasm, but in truth you can use your flexible mind to better yourself in a surprising number of ways. You spend more time talking than eating, so you are able to stay fairly slim. Your flexible bod enjoys agile sports: gymnastics, bicycling, swimming, and so on. Favorites are tennis, racquetball and similar games involving a partner. Gemini talents include design, interior decoration, arts and crafts, magic and illusion, and music.
4) Does the description of your zodiac actually describe you? Why? Definitely. I have a very controversial personality, and I have always felt myself divided to a very benevolent me who doesn't want to hurt a fly and a more malicious me who ignores other people's feelings for my own benefits. It's driving me nuts sometimes, as at times I feel almost bipolar. Mood swings, temper tantrums and love for gossips are all Gemini traits that I possess, but I consider myself also as a cheery and kindhearted person as well. Also, the last quote out of the three above is very much true in my case. With a Gemini like me, you'll never know what you're going to get. ;D 5) How does your zodiac sign PWN over the rest? Life is always exciting and challenging when you are a Gemini, as we get bored easily so we are in constant search of an adventure. Gemini is also said to be a very social sign, spreading energy to others as well.

I get you Dagger. Creating L's character must've been a big risk, but then again, with all this manga/anime coming out in Japan, wasn't it due time that the fangirls got a quite different idol? I can predict that there's going to be qutie a few L-mimics in upcoming manga and anime shows, even if there aren't any yet, especially if Death Note gets a wider, international fame. ;D Also, that strip is terrifying, but also terribly amusing. In my opinion now that Mafia has been established to the OB, it shouldn't be a problem if somebody else besides White went on and started another game at the Adventure Arena (although White has every right to do so as well if he wants). Good call on the point of not revealing who's who before the end. I guess my reasoning was to make this easier for everybody (townsfolk could see whether their votes went to the correct person or not, whereas the Mafia players could see if either the Priest or the Detective was still alive). But let's take this as a sort of "testplay", shall we? This game will surely evolve when it's played again. ;D
I would say that your abrasive attitude towards others when you constantly fly off the handle is more offensive than any of my images--and more frequent to boot.
That, Charles, is a stinking lie. This thread is the only one in a whole year that has made my blood boil, and for a very good reason I'd say.
Maybe all this "crap" is being thrown your direction constantly because maybe, just maybe you bring it upon yourself. You claim to wonder why I'm allowed to post images without being corrected, so in all fairness I wonder why you're constantly allowed to flame others with your ****** attitude without being corrected.
Who am I flaming? Who am I calling names? Who am I mean to? Seriously, I'm a straightforward and honest person, not very tactful or humble, and if you or anybody else don't like it, then that's your problem, not mine. I'm sick and tired of having to make excuses for my personality to a bunch of anonymous, faceless people on the internet. I am who I am, and you just have to deal with it. But please don't make false accusations that I am nothing but a flamer, which you know isn't true.
The only difference is that White didn't sound like a complete dick, while you did.
A completed dick? Because I dared to single you out, instead of some less active moderator? My point may have not been as valid as White's, but I couldn't think of anybody else in the staff that wouldn't earn my full respect (and I did say you did your job as good as every else). I wasn't aware that we moderators were some sort of secret community or political party where you can't disagree with one another, or have to hold up a facade to show "how unified we are".
You, on the other hand treat people like crap while not being funny at all. Try to be introspective here, pal.
Again, how am I treating people? I have been on a defensive stance for the duration of this whole thread, so I've only been crappy to those who've been crappy towards me. And not nearly even in the worst possible way I could've be. To be "funny" is the last thing I've been trying to do. I have tried to remain calm and collected, but with all this baseless "ooh, Sandy is an explosive dickhead, he's no good for this place, the whole forum would come crashing down if he were to win" -mentality going on, who wouldn't be irritated? To Rachamanihoff and Tekkaman and, well, everybody else: In my opinion my actions speak better that my words, so if you want to evaluate how good I am as an Event Master, please concentrate more on the two events I've hosted.
But, it's not your fault; not everyone is classy.
Honestly though, I'm just tired of this crap being thrown in my direction constantly. White responded to the question before me, so I felt I needed to be on the same level with him and answer it as well. We were required to, as well. Our only difference in that interview is that I didn't kiss your behind like White did, so if that makes me a worse person then so be it.
As for L, I love how weird looking he is! Tee, hee... What a guy, eh?
Does this prove my theory about L being a fangirl-service character, Dagger? ;P I admit that Light fits the bishounen-stereotype in appearance better, but then again, his looks don't stand out in the world of anime at all. Normal face, medium-sized eyes, brown short hair... Isn't every other anime protagonist like that? And I'm not even going to his personality. My point is, L is different and he's cutesy, and he poses which Light does not do, so L's the one bound to make fangirls giddy. Despite those ghastly eyes.

This event is now over, as the remaining players have exposed both members of the Mafia.
As I've stated, I'm already as good as dead, what with the majority (*cough* two) against me. Just get it over with, then.
I shall take that as a cue for not to prolong the inevitable. Like Katana said, with two out of three people deadset against her, there's no point to cast votes anymore. With that being said... As the noose tightened around her neck, Katana cried out to the heavens: "I'm coming for you, my Boo! We'll be remembered like Bonnie and Clyde, criminals in love!" The priest, Allamorph, shook his head sadly, and took away the plate with half-eaten waffles on it. "Not even my blessing managed to prevent this tragedy", he sighed as he finished the meal. --- Congratulations, Aaryanna_Mom, Allamorph and MistressRoxie, you were able to solve the murder mystery and reveal the Mafia!

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2006 (Nominations Thread)
Sandy replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
Is it this time of the year already? ;D What is it? New members with numbers on their names Why is it nifty? Because everytime I've seen a new member like ElAlo4321, SasukeUchiha321 or mangamaniack21 posting something to the Adventure Square/Inn, I can always tell for sure that there's bound to be some action ahead. It's all in the numbers... What is it? Doublehex Why is it nifty? This guy can create the most detailed fictional worlds, like Argo Arx Arcanum, the academy of war and magic in Citius Altius Fortius and the fantasy realm of Areth in Summoners of the New Age, and I personally feel lucky to have been able to see them come to life in Adventure Square and OB Anthology. The amount of background information he comes up is overflowing, but very gratifying when you get to sink into those worlds. -
Sub-title: A Musical Adventure 1) Released in 2000 for the Playstation 2) Co-created by the makers of Disgaea
This has to be Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. ***** Here's mine (hope this type of riddle is allowed): S??? ?????? ???s??: ??v?? S??????? - ?????? ???????? vs ??? S?????ss ???? So there's the game's title with all of it's subtitles, done in a Hangman style with 'S' and 'V' added. This should be a bit more challenging... ;D
Oh, but of course... I beg you to forgive me for that awful comment. As I completely forgot that you had to draw the stick puppets too. For someone with your superior drawing skills, it must've been hell going back to the core of drawing and surpressing all of your artistic ideas, so that you could draw a hung stickman without too much ornament.
Well, it took like five minutes out of my precious lifetime, so yeah, it was really demanding! And, like, hard for my brains!

And so the long, grueling night was over, and the Town woke up to yet another death - that of Tekkaman. With their prominent spokesman brutally murdered, the townsfolk gathered to discuss about the killer. Besides asking who did it, they also pondered who would have the guts to make an accusation? ------------------------- Both Aaryanna_Mom and MistressRoxie have decided to accuse Katana for being a member of the mafia. The two of you should now post the reasons for your accusation here, so that Katana can respond to them.

Christmas went by fast, Evan visited his relatives and took a candle to Adam's grave. He couldn't get his thoughts out of the forthcoming trip to New York, though. He had called the Alex-guy and they had agreed on flying there together. Whatever was waiting in the Old Maxwell Theater, two people could face it much more courageously than one. Evan and Alex met again in the airport when it was time to go. "Ready?" Evan asked the young man, grinning. "As ever", he replied. Both of their Shinigamis followed them like shadows - silently but persistently. Evan hadn't been to New York after his childhood, so it was actually more boring than he remembered. Sure, there were awfully many people and bustling everywhere, but it certainly wasn't anything new to somebody that had lived in Washington D.C. The two young men took a taxi to their hotel. Inside the car Evan suddenly felt his heart start to pump harder. (This is it), he thought with his journalist's logic. (Tonight I'll see the true power of these Death Notes. This is going to be the news story of a lifetime!)

Episode 12 with subtitles can now be found on YouTube. It really was a great episode, it moved the plot forwards as well as revealed new details about the setting. And Misa is just a great, great character with her dual personality (on one side a cheery model, on the other side a murderous goth chick). She's black-and-white as opposed to Light's varying shades of grey. What comes to Light, I have to admit that I'm his fan, whereas L doesn't really get my sympathies. There's just something about Light that appeals to me - maybe it's his "righteous evil" that I've mentioned before, sugarcoated with good looks. ;D As for L, I see him as a mouse of a boy lost in grown-ups world - out-of-place and helpless. I don't hate him, he's quite intriguing as a character, but something in him just radiates the "fangirl-service cute bishi poser" -aura. :P

Here are the statistics after the death of Tekkaman: Number of Rounds until the Mafia wins: 2 Town Population: 4 Number of Deaths: 6 Last Murder: Tekkaman Last Person Found Guilty: Boo Current Accused Town Person: N/A Current Stage: Town Meeting
Priest: ? Detective: John Mafia: Boo & ?
Players: Aaryanna_Mom Allamorph [strike]Boo[/strike] [strike]Delta[/strike] [strike]Ikillion[/strike] [strike]John[/strike] Katana MistressRoxie [strike]Sakura[/strike] [strike]Tekkaman[/strike] Now the remaining players should discuss this latest turn of events, and send accusations my way. With good speed, we should be able to solve this murder mystery by next week.
I think the thing that makes our relationship so great is that I have little to no respect for you as well because you always seem to complain about my pictures when they're such a small part of my posting here.
Oh no, don't misunderstand me! X/ I said the pictures are the only reason why I think less of you, and I know how small part of your posts they are. I didn't mean to imply I had no respect towards you at all, quite on the contrary. If I don't like one thing about you, it certainly doesn't mean I don't like anything about you. So please, don't take my words the wrong way... :/ It was a very unfair question, but I felt I needed to answer it anyway.
Sandy doesn't have to do anything apart from telling who died in which round, really.
I wish it were that easy. You just don't have a clue, Boo...
Actually, right now Mafia is being halted at the stage where the Event Master has to do one of their few things. What's up?
Well, actually it's not me who's pulling the brakes, I'm just lacking a crucial PM from a player because that player is nowhere to be found. But things will move on by next week, I'll make sure of that...

Deathsye and Crazy Kev, you're slipping away from the quality standards again. This thread is beginning to look more like a chatroom than an RPG, so put more lenght and effort to your posts, please! - Sandy
Interview Four: Questions From the Community 1. Who is your favorite member on OtakuBoards and why? 2. Which staff member, past or present, do you look to as your OB role model? 3. [To White specifically] Why did you kill Labyrinth? 4. Which staff member, present, do you feel is the weakest in their position? Why? 5. What do you do for fun when offline? 6. What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment as an OtakuBoards staff member? 7. What do you feel is your greatest failing as an OtakuBoards staff member? 8. Do you have any pets? 9. Which trait do you think is the most important one for an Event Master to have? How do you epitomize that trait more than your competition does? 10. Do you still even want to be Event Master?
Yay, another batch of questions! XD 1. I don't see how this relates to hosting events, since favoritism is one of the things I'm against, but I guess this is more of a personal question. Well, my answer (after a long pondering) would have to be Sara. She's been my favorite for the entire time I've visited OB. She's sarcastic and snarky, but in a kind, benevolent way. She rarely wants to insult anybody, but she makes every thread she posts in a bit lighter with her presence. ;D She and I are not on "best friend evah"-terms, but still, she's my fave.

Evan couldn't believe it: he'd run into another Death Note users in a coffee shop, of all places! He was now leading the young man to a nearby park. It was chilly and dark outside, so nobody hung around there at the time. "So, I am Evan Umberwood", Evan greeted, extending his hand for a shake. The other man shook it. "Alex. Alex Aaronson", the man introduced himself. Evan took a good look at him, now that he had the chance. He was clearly many years younger than Evan, and his face reflected innocence and enthusiasm. His jetblack hair had streaks of crimson, and he had a silver earring on his left earlobe. Evan hand automatically wandered to his own golden earring on his right ear. His last gift from Adam... "You have a Death Note too", Evan began, sitting on a park bench. "And apparently a Shinigami following on your heels as well." Alex nodded, then took out his Death Note. "Auld tells me to make you touch this", Alex said. {It will make you see the Shinigami following him}, Cygnus instructed, sitting behind Evan on the back of the bench. {Auld... The Creeping Shadow...} Evan touched Alex's Death Note, and suddenly saw a tall, shadowy figure hovering over the other man. This Shinigami was nothing like the sorrowful Cygnus. "I guess it's only fair that you can touch my notebook as well", Evan said shrugging. After Alex had done so, Evan couldn't help but to chuckle at the absurd situation. "What's so funny?" Alex asked, confused but smiling too. "Ah, nothing... I guess we've bonded now. So tell me, Alex, would you be interested in travelling to New York for New Year's Eve with me?" Evan said with his trade-mark wide grin on his face.

Hey, GetsYoTreeFed93! You're doing several things thw wrong way now. For starters, you have no right to write in those RPGs here at the Square that you haven't signed up for at the Inn. That's basic stuff which you would've know if you would've read the obligatory Adventure Square Basics, which is a sticky thread at the top of the page with an extensive list of rules that one should follow when playing here. Secondly, the last reply to this thread was well over a month ago, which means that nobody's playing in this anymore. This is called "gravedigging" that you're doing, and it's also a no-no. And for third, do not double post, we have an edit button if you need to change something in your post. Hope you'll learn from this, so you'll come to enjoy your hopefully long stay at OtakuBoards, but for now, consider yourself warned. If you have any more questions about how to play here at the Square, we moderators are only a private message away! I will also lock this thread now to avoid future misuses. - Sandy, Just Doing My Job

Voting on the case of Tekkaman vs. Boo has begun, but the results will have to wait til Tuesday, because I'm leaving to my granny's for the holidays. See you then, everybody!

You can now send me your votes if you think Boo is guilty via PMs. We'll now the results after the holidays, on Tuesday. You can also send more accusations my way. Until Tuesday, it's Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays for the whole Town!
