1. Okay, time to do this. I'm sorry everybody - especially Doublehex - but I'm going to have to drop out of this RPG. I hate to do this because I'm not a quitter type, but this time it's different... It's not due to time restrains, but because I feel that the pace of the game (not the flow of time, but the multitude of happenings going on) is just too fast for me to keep up and to incorporate my characters into it in any way. I tried, but then the character I was interacting with (Engel's Kristos) was swept away to completely other events, so I felt neglected. To put it bluntly, I couldn't find my characters any place in this game, and much of it is my own fault. I should've been more active in putting my characters "on the line", but I failed to do that and now I feel it's too late. I don't know what the heck is going on in the game anymore, everybody's just doing their own stuff (flirting, fighting, powering up) in it without much focus. There's just no reason for me to force my characters into that equation. So again, I'm sorry, and I'm not blaming anyone for this except myself, but I'm out.
2.
I'm not good at school not that I'm failing i just hate school alot. Another thing would be keeping a girlfriend for some reason I'm able to get girl and make girl fall in love with me but then they just leave me and still remain in love with me  i just cant keep gf's.
Why don't you try falling in love with them yourself, instead of just making them fall for you. ;P Hmm, what I'm not good at... Well, the biggest thing is perhaps ballgames. I just can't hit the ball with anything, whether it's a racket or a pool stick or my foot or those paddles on Flippers. X( It's like all balls in the world hate me! :'( Well, excluding one specific type of balls, but let's just not go there... ;P
3. Everybody, please work on your grammar and writing style to make it more understandable. This game's quality has been sloppy from the beginning, but I'm giving you a fair warning now. Improve this, or it'll get closed. Thank you! - Sandy
4. Because this is a dragonwarriorish RPG, I'm going to try something completely new with my character, something that I personally haven't done before. Here's to hoping it fits the set-up of this game... Name: Scarlotta Race: Human Age: 41 Personality: She is maternal and caring, especially towards young boys like her own three sons. Anybody who threatens her family will however face her dark side: an aggressive, vengeful death goddess locked deep within her. She takes no crap from anybody and will smite all who oppose her. And she loves cooking. Appearance: Her once fiery red hair is graying, and her once honed muscles begin to flatten out, but she still has the eyes of a seasoned warrior, burning with inner flame. History: In her youth, Scarlotta was a notorious mercenary with the monicker of "Scarlet the Bloodstained". She was feared by both nobles and criminals, for she worked for whoever paid her most. She was especially cruel towards men, and her punishment to rapists and child-killers can't be depicted in civilized words. But ultimately one man, a humble innkeeper's son, succeeded in winning her heart. She settled down with him, and bore him three good sons, who one by one left home with their brides. A once mighty warrioress was now reverted to a lowly inn hostess and a soon-to-be-grandmother. She felt happy with her present life, up until the day she found her dear husband slaughtered by trespassing bandits. Her inner flame lit up again, and taking her old war axe from the mantelpiece she rushed after the wrong-doers. Weapon: In her warrior days she carried a double-bladed war axe that she nicknamed "Ballcutter". She hasn't let it rust, so it's still perfectly usable to do what it was named to do.
5. Hey, everybody! Since I'm running this event from now on, I'd really appreciate if everybody would PM me their status in this game and anything else I should be aware of (because I obviously don't have access to White's private messages), and also excuse me if the event's next phase gets delayed for a bit, because I really need to delve into this first. But for now, just keep on doing what you're doing... That is accusations, right? *sheepish smile*
6.
Okay, here's your plot twist... Both of you are to take control of the other's event immediately.
I just want to say that I knew this was the twist, so I secretly wished that my event would end before it came into effect, but of course it didn't. XP Well, let's see what comes of this... One question, though: will failing to complete the other participant's event mean automatic loss in the Otaku Idol 2? I surely hope other things affect the decision as well... :/
7. Hey, Venge! You should know this by now, but Adventure Square uses only one type of ratings in the game, that is E/PG/M for target group and M/L/S for questionable themes as defined in the Adventure Square Basics. We'd prefer if members stuck to these short abbreviations and wouldn't use things such as age limits in the games. Remember that OB is meant for people over 13 years old, so putting a PG-13 rating is rather pointless. I've changed the title for you, but remember this in the future, please. Thanks! ;D - Sandy, Your Friendly Neighborhood Moderator
8.
Woah, where'd you get that out of ? I mean sure I can see a resemblance between the postures, but it's Santa Claus for God's sake.
And the beams coming out of both their backs, and the benevolent expression that everybody worships... It's in the eye of the beholder. ;P
Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen Santa as being creepy in any way, despite the obvious ways in which he could be interpreted as creepy.
Just call me perverted. That's okay, 'cause I am. ;)
9. ~Thursday 34th of Estembre 5:05 PM~ Now look what you did! Circes sent his annoyed thoughts at his twin sister. As smart as she was, Cassandra had real trouble controlling her temper. "Listen, Kristos..." Circes started to explain. "Please excuse my sister's words, she didn't mean it like that." Yes I did, he heard her sister's thoughts. "I believe you aren't the culprit, but is there any possibility we could help you find the one responsible? Despite our scrawny bodies, we aren't utterly helpless." Circes gave the brooding Kristos his most unarming and honest smile. "And I promise to keep my sister here at bay", he added, getting another murderous glance from Cassandra. "So what do you say? Shall we seek vengeance together? I could take a look of your new clothes in the process, they really look like they could use a little tuning..." Cassandra rolled his eyes.
10. ~Thursday 34th of Estembre 4:45 PM~ Cassandra stared at Kristos who'd gone through a notable transformation. He's got some serious issues, Circes' thoughts said to Cassandra. "So, uh... Kristos", Cassandra started. "This morning I went to the infirmary for my practical training in Support Magic, and I found the nurse Carolyn there seriously injured. She uttered your name, so I thought you might know something more about it." "Huh", Kristos said thoughtfully. "Nurse Kurozaki already interrogated me. I told her that I happened to find Carolyn like that. I don't know anything else about it." "Oh really?" Cassandra said, with a sly smile spreading to her face. "From the way Carolyn has speaked about you, I think there's more going on between the two of you than you told Kurozaki. You're not talking to an imbecile here, so spill the beans!" Cassandra..., her brother's thoughts warned her. Don't agitate the guy! Cassandra ignored Circes' warning, and confronted Kristos by standing up from her seat and pointing her finger at Kristos. "Why did you try to kill her?" Cassandra demanded to know. "Who's your accomplice, the Air Mage? Tell me!" Kristos stood up, his eyes narrow with burning rage. Cassandra sensed fear coming from Circes, but she was not afraid. She wanted, no, needed to solve this case! At that moment, a message came out of the speaker in Kristos' room: "KRISTOS ENTTAUSCH, PLEASE REPORT TO THE BATTLE ARENA BY SIX HUNDRED HOURS."
11. ~Thursday 34th of Estembre 3:30 PM~ Circes was getting very frustrated. He had had to spend the whole day chasing after the guy called Kristos Enttausch, just because his sister had suddenly got obsessed in finding him. Carrot had babbled something about an injured nurse... When the twins had finally found Kristos, he was caught up in a battle with two other students at the Training Center. The battle had gotten so intense that the intructors had to use the help of an Air Magi Student to separate the fighters from each other. Now the crowd around the fight was dispersing, and one of the fighters was taken to the infirmary. There were people everywhere. "This is insane, Carr... Cassandra!" Circes groaned. "We'll never find Kristos from this crowd, and soon he'll be taken away to be interrogated by the instructors!" Carrot peered all around, checking all the faces of every passer-by. "Ha, he's there!" Carrot cheered victoriously, pointing towards one of the walls of the Training Center. Kristos was all by himself, huddled against the wall. Circes followed his twin sister as she ran to the lonely student. "So... The fight didn't go well, huh?" Circes asked, smiling awkwardly when the twins reached Kristos. Carrot punched his inconsiderate brother hard to the arm.
12.
Any of these get my vote, though I'm rather fond of the middle one, it just fits the season theme pretty well.
No offense to either White or Gavin, but this was the first thing that popped in to my mind when I saw that middle banner. X( The Coca-Cola-esque Santa Claus is just that creepy... *shudders* So far, despite there being a lot of good candidates, none of the banners have struck me to be one that I'd definitely want to see on top of the site. Perhaps it really is the lack of cats in them... :/
13.
hard to do so when you don't know. I don't know. Somethings stopping me. Would it be shameful to say that perhaps I fell in love with the idea of being loved and not the person himself? That seems so low,so very low.
Fret not. The first guy you fall for does not have to be the one you live the rest of your life with. Just seize the moment, and don't worry about the future too much. Love is a tricky thing, you know? And you're still young.
14.
Question! ^ ^ What is in-between the characters left and the arch? Just open ground with the arch then the labyrinth behind the arch? I just wanted to get things right before I made a post.
Nonono, the hill I depicted is inside the Labyrinth. So there's more maze in front of the characters, and behind that is the gigantic arch. If you need a mental image, think of a semi circle rising in the horizon. What lies beyond the arch is the big question... ;D
15. I'm not trying to be a shrink here, but you should really think about the reasons behind your intimacy issues. When you acknowledge where the problem lies, then you can do something about it. Just don't push yourself to do anything you really don't want to do. If your boyfriend doesn't understand it, then you probably shouldn't be together.
16. Sapphire the Kitten looked at the friends she had made in the forest. It hadn't been easy, as she had been very frightened when Jinx the Lynx had first found her. Jinx was like a mother to Sapphire, big and warm and caring, although she too was still young. The lynx had introduced the lost kitten to the rest of the gang, and now Sapphire was joining them for their very first adventure. Somehow, Sapphire still felt sad. Maybe it was because they were leaving the safety of the woods behind and traversing to the world of big, bad humans. Sapphire didn't want to think that she had to go there again. But then again, the forest wasn't that safe anymore, because the humans were destroying it. The safest place for a little white kitten to be right now was with Jinx and the others. Her forest friends.
17.
Hey, DH. Mind if I ask what's up with changin Alex's magic minor from support to blue after the RP has started? I wasen't aware that was allowed.
Duh, Doublehex is the creator of this game, so he can do whatever he wants - under the restriction of the OB rules, of course. ;P
18. The third - and final - round has commenced. Before anybody asks, the reason I revived Janet Peterson was because she had the most votes in the poll. The players who continue in this event are:
BKStyles Eclipse Sakura SunfallE
Each of you have one Death Card to use this round, but before you can yours you must provide one more post without killing anyone. This is going to get brutal with five characters left to kill and four players to make those kills, because in the end, there can only be one winner, and the winner is the player whose character is the last one alive. However, please note that you can't write out the part where your character gets out of the Labyrinth - that's my job. ;D If anything is left unclear for the third round, ask away! PS. Thank you so much for playing, Ezekiel, indifference and Tekkaman! You were all great, but unfortunately you ran out of luck - and characters.
19. The enfuriated Minotaur approached the four people, lost to the magicks of the Labyrinth. Blood gushed out of it's blinded eye, and it's enormous horns were glistening, ready to impale the puny humans. Feng Li glutched Lita Rossi's legs, and Lita held the hand of Maya Ashnard, who was uttering prayers to Allah with her eyes closed, while Joachim Gale stood before the three females, holding his mighty sword in front of him with shaking arms. Very unexpectedly, the world around them twirled. The four found themselves in a place that could only be describe as black-and white. There were black lines and white lines, and black spots and white spots, and black light and white light. It was all like a piece of some type of early, simplistic computer art. "What is this place?" Lita sobbed, her usual bravery vanished. After their eyes and minds had adjusted to the weird environment, they saw a colored figure lying some distance from them. "I think I recognize that woman", Maya pondered. "She was definately one of the people from the graveyard." "Is she... dead?" Feng Li asked curiously, stepping towards the huddled figure. Joachim tried to stop the little girl, but she was too fast for him. "Look! She's breathing!" Feng Li gasped as she got closer to the woman. The other three soon followed her. Lita touched the woman's head and hummed a little tune. "Oh... it hurts..." the woman sighed weakly. "Where does it hurt?" Lita asked gently, petting the woman's red hair. "No... My heart hurts... for the children", Janet Peterson answered, opening her indigo blue eyes. The four others helped Janet up. "What a terrifying place!" Janet gasped, looking around. "I wonder... Are we five the only ones left?" Maya pondered. "Never mind that, we need to get out of here!" Joachim said determinedly, searching the black-and-white surroundings for any trace of anomalities that could hint an exit. "YOU SOON WILL", a loud voice suddenly echoed everywhere around them. "WELCOME TO THE GATHERING! YOU FIVE PROOVED TO BE THE STRONGEST SPECIMENS BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. NOW, ONLY THE FINAL ORDEAL REMAINS: TO FIND THE WAY OUT." "Who are you?!" Lita screamed in panic. "Allah have mercy on us", Maya prayed by herself. "Show yourself, coward!" Joachim shouted, waving his sword around, almost injuring himself and his companions. "How horrible..." Janet moaned, clutching her head. "Let us out!" Feng Li pleaded. "VERY WELL", the voice boomed, and suddenly everything warped again. The Ending "All Things Must Come to an End." Janet Peterson was standing on a high hillside with four others. In front of them opened a view over the Labyrinth, and not that far in the horizon loomed an enormous archway. It was quite plain and ordinary for a stone arch, aside from it's size, but to the five people on the hilltop it represented hope. It was the way out.
20. ~Thursday, 34th of Estembre, 07:00 AM~ Cassandra Augurion woke up in her room at the White Block dorms. She was supposed to spend the whole morning on practical training duty at the infirmary, under the watchful eye of Head Nurse Kurozaki. However, her thoughts were focused on what Instructor Algreis had said yesterday. "To think I'd be able to do a proper summoning with my brother..." she thought. She felt that Circes was still asleep, although some parts in his body obviously were quite awake. But Cassandra didn't want to go further with those thoughts. She tried to put her mind onto other things. Then she remembered something she had overheard last night when she'd went to bed. One of the nurses at the infirmary, Carolyn was her name, had been mysteriously injured. "I think I'll look into that", Cassandra said to herself, confident that she could solve the mystery. After all, supporting magic was her ultimate forté. Even Nurse Kurozaki, who was known for her skeptical attitude towards students had complimented Cassandra's abilities on several occasions. Cassandra grabbed a bite to eat at the cafeteria and enjoyed her quick breakfast while walking to the infirmary. When she arrived there, she immediately went to see Carolyn. The sight was devastating. "Oh my... This had to be done by magic! Air magic, I suppose, judging from the long, thin wounds..." Cassandra gasped as she examined the unconscious nurse. Carolyn woke up to her touch. The nurse looked at Cassandra and opened her mouth to say something. "What is it?" Cassandra asked as gently as she could, but inside her she was eager to find out what had happened. "K...Kristos..." Carolyn uttered weakly, then passed out again. Cassandra pondered the case for a while. There was a guy called Kristos in her Support Magic Class, but she didn't know anything else about him, so she decided to fetch the one person who definitely would. Her sleepyhead twin brother.
21. I definitely agree with everything that has been said in this thread so far, but just to add my two cents, I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that RPGs are meant to be interactive. Making people just write out your own story as you imagine it will go is not roleplaying. I can say this with my own experience. If you tell the other players what to write too much, you'll soon find out you're playing by yourself. ;P So balance is definitely the keyword.
22. Cute overload! XD Name: Sapphire Species: Persian kitten Colouring: She has white, fuzzy fur and bright blue eyes, reflecting her innocence. Disposition: She's oftentimes sorrowful, and feels lost in the wide world. She's suspicious towards other creatures, because she doesn't want to get rejected. Anything else: She was abandoned to the Forest when her mother's owners couldn't find her a new home, and she has been wandering the wilderness ever since.
23. OoC: Gah, I'm missing all the drama! XP ~*~*~*~ After lunch, Cassandra dragged her twin brother to Instructor Algreis's office. "But we're missing our dance lesson!" Circes whined. "Come on, I know you were going to skip it anyway", Cassandra retorted. "You just want to go play Pretty Princess Dress Me Up with your airheaded girlfriends." "But Carrot...!" Circes voice trailed off, he knew very well that his sister wasn't pleased with the monicker she had received here at the Argo Arx Arcanum. Cassandra sniffed at his brother. Finally they arrived to the door on the Instructors' Wing that said "Instructor Locke Algreis - Summoning". Cassandra pushed the doorbell, and the metallic door slided open. The interior of the room was quite peculiar. The walls were covered with psychedelic patterns, colored green and purple and yellow. The large window on the opposite side of the room from the door was covered with velvet drapes. The shelves were filled with unique artifacts, and the room was lit by four enormous, pillar-like lava-lamps standing on each corner of the room. There was no proper desk either, but a low tea-table at the center of the room with large, shoft cushions around it. "Nauseating", thought Cassandra. "I think this is quite tasteful", Circes's thoughts disagreed. On one of those cushions sat Locke Algreis on a lotus stance. A bowl of steaming tea was on the table in front of him. His eyes opened as the twins walked into the strange room. "Ah, you came so soon", the instructor said with his melodic voice, obviously pleased. "Sit down, please!" Cassandra and Circes sat down on the pillows, opposite to the instructor. "Now then, Augurion Twins, as you're aware, you both seem to have an intriguing problem with your summoning skills. You both have much potential, and your summons are quite powerful, but you seem to lack the willpower to keep the spirits at bay. Do you agree with me?" Cassandra nodded. "Have you found a solution to it, instructor?" "I might have, but first you must tell me something..." The instructor leaned forward. "Do you two have a telepathic connection?" "How did you...?!" Circes gasped, making Cassandra give him a murderous glance. Their spiritual bond had been a well-kept secret, but now it was out in the open. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone", the instructor assured. "But... this connection between you might just be the key to controlling the summoned creatures." Locke Algreis took a long sip from his bowl of tea, and then looked at the twins with a serious expression. "Next time you try to summon, why don't you do it together?"
24.
Well, Sandy told me that those two are essentially one character split into two, so in that sense, they are just one character.
Heh, there goes that plot-twist... ;P But really, you should be careful on how many players you include to this, because currently this game is advancing at the speed of a bullet train - at least I have trouble keeping up with the events. Your choice, though. I wouldn't want to deny any potential player access to the awesomeness of Citius Altius Fortius. ;D
25.
Next week there will be a major change to the competition; one that promises to take the two away from their comfort zones and into a whole new situation!
*hugs his comfort zone* Noooo!!! 8( ... Well, okay then. You know I'm a sucker for plot-twists, so I'll be waiting for it. ;D And Gavin, I believe that if the time had been different, your event would've been a smashing success. It's a shame it didn't work out this time... Glad to have competed against you! :)
