Writing (Yaoi story) When the glasses are off [M-SL]
Sandy replied to duoikari's topic in Creative Works
Hmm, where to start... This was an interesting little story, the first piece of homosexual erotica I've personally seen on this board. First of all, YAOI is an anime/manga term, and should only be used to describe Japanese comics or cartoons that contain homosexual themes, at least in my opinion. As for the story, I loved how it built up with the tension between Antonio and Quatre. I was practically siding with Antonio, as I saw that his purpose was to show his love to his partner, who had begun to grow weary of their relationship. In all honesty, and I didn't even expect anything else, the aim of this story seemed to be to describe a sex act, which it did pretty well. I'm not a big fan of the nicknames for penis that usually female authors make up so that they don't have to use the "harsh" words ("man's pride", "staff", "ramrod" etc.), but you managed to avoid the worst cheesiness related to that. All in all, the sex was described rather nicely, although it wasn't the most arousing stuff I've read. If you want to "aim to please", so to speak, you should use a more graphic and detailed style.I'm not talking about raping or hardcore stuff, mind you. On a purely technical note, I suggest you look into the grammar a lot more. Here's some things I picked up, that you should keep an eye for: * You had many capital letters where they didn't belong, and many places where one belonged was lacking it. Pay special attention to the start of sentences, you can be sure that a capital letter belongs there. * You suffer from the common habit of using "your" instead of "you're" - remember that the wrong form can alter the whole meaning of the sentence! * Commas are bitches, their use is hard to master, but you seemed to miss a lot of them. Remember that there's supposed to be a comma after you finish a quote. * Please don't use several question or exclamation marks in a row. I guess you were using them to enforce the message, but they really don't belong to any written language, as far as I know. If you want to really make a point with the symbols, I suggest using "?!" instead. * As a style hint, make the title of the story stand out. Bold it, underline it, whatever, but in this case it kind of blended to the first chapter. I'm not sure if you're a female or a male, but based on your style I reckon it's the first. I believe that when a woman describes gay sex between two males, it pretty much has the same "sexual fantasy"-effect as the sex between two women in straight porn - it has it's bases on the true stuff (like what part goes where in what position), but is much more polished and unrealistic, and often females like to make the other gay guy more feminine as opposed to the other being more masculine (which I believe was the case of Quatre and Antonio), but in real life it's just not that simple. Gay couples consists of two gay men, the traditional gender roles don't abide in most cases. However, as said, it was a nice read, and it was good to see that sort of piece of literature here. Learn to avoid the grammar issues, and write more! -
Rorita was still in shock. Her little adventure had suddenly turned into a ruthless battle. A million questions raced through her mind. Who are those men? Why were they after us? How did they know we were here? Suddenly Liam moaned. Rorita pulled off her hands from his wound and was amazed to see that it was gone. Completely. "Unbelievable!" Coco gasped. "Not even a scar! Way to go, Rorita!" Rorita couldn't help but to blush in front of the much older boy. She turned her attention back to Liam, who was still a bit pale, but was already trying to sit up. "Whoa, just relax, dude!" Coco said, pushing him back down. "You just got pierced by two arrows!" "But I feel just fine!" Liam opposed. "What's going on out there? Are the others still fighting?" Rorita peeked outside. "Yeah. Looks pretty nasty. Severed limbs and heads everywhere. And large pools of blood." Rorita was excited. It was just like the movies she liked to watch! Nature at it's wildest...
You say that as if the murderous alterego power is original, lol. The Incredible Hulk anyone?
But I wasn't talking about a physical transformation, just mental. I agree that it's not that original for a superpower, but it's uncanny that they decided to have a similar looking woman with a similar power as my character in Hero. My mind can't even think about all the possibilities what this might tell about the nature of world. One thing comes to mind, though: that there might be a limited amount of ideas...
The premise of the show reminds me too much of my old 'Hero' RPG. It bothers me to the point where I can't even watch the show's promos without wanting to smash something I think I'm more bothered that 'Hero' died, than the fact 'Heroes' has a similar premise and title. Everyone I know who has seen the premiere loves it, though. So maybe I'll give ita chance. -Shy
I seriously freaked out a little bit inside when I heard about this show a few days back, because it reminded me so much about Hero! It's just a quirky coincidence, I know, but I can't help but to find it scary that one of the characters of this Heroes is a blonde woman with a murderous alterego - just like my character, Viveca, in Shy's Hero! 8(
The thing is, her family in Florida said that while my friend was there, they would take her and her parents to Sea World. A comment was made about how the funeral should take place at Sea World with the whales and everything. She and I both started laughing. It's not really funny, but it was to us for some reason.
See, but it is funny! This is just the gentle type of humor you should have in times of crisis. You're not mocking anybody ("Haha, they're having a funeral at Sea World! Jerks!"), but you're seeing the irony of it. It will help your friend recover from her loss, I bet you. Perceiving irony is a gift that should be cherished. Not everybody can do it. ;D
-
The golden rule of humor (in my opinion, at least) is that you shouldn't laugh at somebody, but with them. I have a tendency of making fun of myself, but I'm also known for kind of dark, twisted sense of humor. I can laugh at things people usually feel awkward laughing at. Hmm, I wonder if I should consider going into stand up performing...? ;P

It's Eternal Sonata, the US title. I've got to admit, while the graphics don't mean too much for me in games generally, the visuals of this one are totally awe-inspiring - like Charles mentioned, as if in an anime movie. I can only dream about what future brings on the RPG front to us, but this as well as other recently revealed titles such as Lost Odyssey, FF XIII and White Knight Story can give some very strong clues. ;D

"Okay..." Rorita pondered. "So wind, thunder, earth and such are all natural elements. And Elodie, you said you can read people's minds, huh? Well, I guess my element is... well, look at this." Rorita crouched to the center of the circle, and all the others leaned forward to see better. Rorita put her hands to the ground, and when she lifted them up, a fragile yellow flowerbud sprouted from the grass. "So, is my element like flower or something?" Rorita asked the others, who were just smiling at the girl. Obviously her power was pathetic, in their opinion. "Sounds so lame..." Without putting any attention to it, Rorita placed her hand above the flower and made it wither in an instant. As Rorita stood up, she saw that everybody's expression had changed from slight amusement to amazement and shock, even fear. "Uh..." Coco said unsurely. "I think... you have power over life and death!" Rorita gasped and put her hand over her mouth. She had never thought it that way!

digiX, if you want to keep swearing and sexual themes at minimum, why did you put the rating [M-LVS] (which is the most lenient of ratings)? A more fitting would have been [PG-VLS], or just [PG-V] if you want to keep away from bad language and sexual themes. The rating is there for a purpose, it shouldn't be considered merely as something you must put there. If you want to change this game's rating, just let me know and I'll do it for you. Cheers! - Sandy Sandy, seeing this without a rating was really starting to annoy me, so I added it on the main thread title. If it is supposed to be something different, I'm sorry, but I couldn't sand it any more. Feel free to correct me. :animedepr --Zeke

Well, my daddy is technically called a "finemechanist". In practice, he fixes weapons of doom - meaning dentist's appliances. ;P He's worked his whole life for the same company, straight after he dropped out of school. But life has pulled him a long way. As for my mother, she has been unemployed for a big part of her life, and the expectations of her ever getting a proper job is honestly zero, due to her being imprisoned from manslaughter. *gasp* She's also an alcoholic of the highest degree, and has generally messed up her life pretty bad. So there, another story about Sandy's Big Happy Family. :P

OoC: Thanks for grabbing Rorita along with Jake, BK! ;D ~*~*~*~*~*~ It took quite a while before Rorita realized that she was hanging out in a recluse park in some Canadian suburb with five people who were at least five years older than her. Something inside her shouted in panic, but her outerior remained calm and curious. Just smile, she said to herself. Smiling is the best way to handle a troubling situation, or so her mother always said. Suddenly one of the teenage boys - the one with the cute longish blonde hair - turned to Rorita. "So, you have an elemental power as well?" "Uh-huh", she assured. "Although I wasn't aware it was...uh, elemental until I heard the voice. What's elemental, anyway? I don't think it has anything to do with elementary school..." This remark caused the boy to let out an amused laughter. "No, it doesn't", he said. "Elements are sorta like the basic powers of the universe. Or something. I'm Coco, by the way." It was Rorita's turn to laugh with her clear, high voice. "Isn't that a girl's name?" she said with the cutest smile she could conjure on her face. Definitely an asset when you're insulting somebody. "Anyway, I am Rorita D'Arc, from Florence, South Carolina! Now I'd like to know what are we all waiting for?"

Lariel Azaleah stood on a grassy hill, gazing towards south. A strong wind fluttered his chocolate brown hair which was tied into dozens of small braids tied with colorful ribbons. He carried the Morgarath, his two Wings of Destiny, on his back, wrapped into a thick cloth. He wore more clothing than he was used to, and the itchy wool and sweaty leather made him uneasy. He couldn't believe humans called themselves technologically advanced, yet they still wore such barbaric clothing! He missed the smooth elven silks and warm furs, but the chilly weather of the open hills had forced him to change his attire. But his clothing wasn't the only thing that was bothering him, for his far-seeing elven eyes could clearly make out the figure of the Torikarn Keep looming in the horizon. It was his next destination, according to Hypnaeus. "Care to explain why I need to go there again? I've heard Torikarn is a dull place, where they value silence and knowledge over fun", Lariel said with disdain oozing from his words. A tiny, glimmering sphere of purplish light appeared next to his pointed ear. "Ah, you and your mundane appreciations, Lariel..." the fairy said with fony despair. "Most Summoners would be thrilled to visit Torikarn, the Sanctuary of Knowledge, and explore the vast libraries and converse with the masters of summoning, but obviously such things are trivial to you." "You sound just like Bel'aria, and honestly, I don't want to listen to that anymore", Lariel said annoyed, sweeping the summoned fairy away from his ear. "Just tell me why we are going to that place." In a split second, the purple light expanded and transformed into a tall, pale-skinned man with large iridescent wings of a butterfly standing next to the wood elf. Lariel couldn't help feeling his heart wrench at the sight of his majestic Aeon. Hypnaeus's words were much more easy to dismiss when he was just a puny sprite, but the Aeon had learned to use his size-increasing abilities to get his message through. "Look around you, Lariel", Hypnaeus said with his deep voice, motioning towards the ground with his hand. "The ground beneath your feet is rotting, the air around you has a foul tint to it, the civilization you hold so dear is grumbling into dust like so many mighty empires before it." Lariel glanced behind his back. On the top of the hill was an ancient circle of stone pillars, eroded by time. Once it might have been an altar to the gods, but the gods were gone now. All that remained was illusions and dreams... "Torikarn holds the answers, Lariel", the Aeon said sternly, placing his ethereal hand on Lariel's shoulder. "Let your Wings of Destiny guide you to them, for you have the ability to help restore the balance." "Please, Hypnaeus, cut down the "I'm so important"-talk! I'm just a worthless wood elf who tries to dance his way around everything! How can you think that my actions make any difference?!" Lariel marched down the hill, and his uneasiness grew tenfold. Bel'aria, his mentor, had said the same things as Hypnaeus, over and over again. Then Lariel had betrayed her trust, and she had cursed him. He thought he had lost his chances in life, so he had given up everything. And now his Aeon claimed that he had a Destiny to follow?! From Lariel's point-of-view, he had nothing. "You'll see", Hypnaeus whispered softly to his ear, before vanishing into the wind. OoC: I'm thinking that Hypnaeus's size-increasing powers go beyond human size, if you don't have anything against that, Doublehex. Other than that, he has control over sleep and dreams, but nothing else much.

Rorita quickly crossed the lane between her and the bus she felt she needed to take. She was a little taken aback by the fact that there was no number or anything at the front of the bus, just the destination. Matchell Park. "Oh well, maybe Canadians are just weird that way", she shrugged and climbed the bus. It was empty, except for the driver, an age-old Native American woman, who snored loudly. "Excuse me, ma'am!" Rorita said. The woman didn't even flinch, so Rorita nudged her a little. Then a little harder. Finally she leaned to her ear and shouted from the bottom of her lungs: "WAKE UP!!!" "Huhwhah?!" the woman yelped, nearly jumping off her seat. "Oh, it's you... Please be seated, young miss. We'll depart shortly. As in now." "Aren't we going to wait for other passengers?" Rorita wondered, glancing at the empty rows of seats. "There's nobody else coming to this ride, so be a nice girl and sit down." The driver closed the doors and started the engine. Rorita hurried to a seat near the middle doors. She preferred to keep a safe distance to the strange old lady. ~*~*~*~*~*~ The old woman left her at the edge of Matchell Park and speeded away. For the first time during this little adventure of hers, Rorita begun to doubt if it had been such a good idea to run away in the first place. She felt insecure, and lonely. Then she heard birds singing in the park, and saw two squirrels playfully chasing each other. A gentle breeze made the leaves of the maples and oaks of the park sizzle calmingly. Rorita stepped from the side walk into a dirt path, and instantly the park felt like home. Only better.

Burt followed his friend, Krampick, to a shady tavern at the outskirts of the mighty city of Elartim. He had never visited the place, but his friend assured him that today he'd see something not a lot of human men would ever see. Huddled up in their woolly capes, the two men entered the tavern called the Crescent of Etarlia, both staggering in their steps due to the several flagons of Dwarven Ale they had already consumed in Krampick's house. Neither man hadn't had much luck in life, and all they had was each other and daily tavern-hopping. Burt didn't admit it, but Krampick's short fuse often frightened him. Burt was no sissy either, in fact he was just as muscular and tough-looking as his friend, but when Krampick got mad, somebody always got hurt. The Crescent of Etarlia was a smutty place, the waitresses would do better as prostitutes (which wasn't to say that they weren't ones), and the patrons were all scruffy sailors, mercenaries or drunkards. At the other side of the room there was a stage covered by a purple, velvet curtain - it seemed oddly out of place in a pub like this. Krampick led Burt to the table nearest the stage, shoving a skinny Tumerok off of his seat. Suddenly an elderly woman stepped out of the curtain. She must have been a great looker in her youth, but the spirits of time had got to her. Her persona still emanated a certain aura that revealed she was the keeper of the tavern. "Listen up, you horny dogs!" the woman croaked. The patrons howled in excitement, Krampick along the others. "Have I got a special treat for you tonight! Lemme present, coming straight from the lush forests of Dian'Ardh, the otherworldly beauty known as..." The curtain rolled up, and a slender figure covered by a thin veil and two large feathered fans came to sight. The stage was lit by magic lights, flickering in deep shades of red, purple and blue. An ethereal music started to play from thin air. "... The Butterfly!" The figure spun around, spreading the two fans to its sides. The whole room full of people seemed to gasp in unison. It was a wood elf, dressed in nothing but a translucent silk veil, and furthermore... "Holy fuck, Krampick, that's a guy!" Burt hissed to his friend, who to his astonishment was practically eating the elf with his bulged eyes. "Shut up and enjoy!" Krampick hushed him. The Butterfly started to dance so smoothly and delicately that soon even Burt himself forgot the fact that he was staring lustingly to a member of the same sex. He couldn't explain why the wood elf attracted him so, but even the very air around the creature felt enchanted. All of a sudden, the wood elf jumped up, fluttering his fans like wings, and hovered in midair. A flock of illusionary butterflies appeared around him. Another gasp ran through the crowd. The elf landed on top of Burt and Krampick's table, and gave an alluring smile to the men. Burt just stared in awe, but Krampick couldn't hold his urges anymore. He grabbed the beautious elf by his ankles and tried to pull him to his lap. "Come here, my little bug..." Krampick whispered with a thick voice. "Get your hands off of me", the wood elf replied calmly, but Burt had never heard a more threatening tone. "If you don't give in willingly, then I'll have to take you by force!" Krampick laughed, and stood up. A sharp, nasty kick broke his nose and send him staggering backwards. "You fucking fairy!" Krampick bellowed, his eyes suddenly aflame with rage, and made a berserk rush at the table. The wood elf leaped over him effortlessly and landed behind him. Krampick hit the table, knocking it down with him. "Don't be fooled by my looks - this fairy will fight back!" the wood elf growled, which sounded odd with a voice as high as his. Krampick stumbled up, and roared in fury. In a split second, the wood elf crossed the two fans horizontally in front of him, and as Krampick reached him, ignoring what he thought was a pathetic attempt to block his attack, the elf made a slashing movement with the fans. Burt watched in horror as his only friend fell down in a rain of feathers, with two deep, crossing wounds running across his chest. He looked at the elf again, and saw that what had been two fans, were actually two sets of claws attached to the elves arms. "You want to follow your friend?" the elf asked, tilting his head. Seeing the green eyes of the elf burning with battle frenzy, Burt hesitated for a moment, but he knew he had to at least try to avenge his friend, or he would be damned to an eternal shame and dishonor in the Afterlife. So he made a desperate leap towards the elf, and soon there were two dead bodies lying on the floor of the Crescent of Etarlia. "Tsch, tsch..." the owner of the tavern said from behind the wood elf. "I'm afraid there's not going to be a payment for you tonight, Lariel Azaleah, for the mess you have caused." "It's alright, Madame Pesmerga", Lariel said with his melodic, high-pitched elven voice. "The fun I had tonight makes up for it. If you show me a place to wash this filth out of my Wings of Destiny, I'll be on my merry way." ~*~ OoC: This was certainly a different kind of approach to starting up with a character, I hope you liked it. Also, Lariel will not be as nasty a person as he may have been portrayed in this post - he just doesn't like scum. ;P

I think it's absurd that when a videogame at least tries to be more philosophic and existentialist, somebody will get offended and call it blasphemous (it's the same deal with the Xenosaga-series and to certain extent Final Fantasy X as well). It's like nobody should ever question things like "why we're here?" and "who's behind all this?"! Pfft, I say! >:P
*feels bad for the glasses girl* ;__;[/COLOR']
Don't worry, she'll get a safe trip back home from Rorita's enfuriated parents when they find out that their daughter has fled to Canada. ;P I think Rorita will have to face them again later in the game...

Rorita walked behind her parents as they exited the terminal, all the while contemplating how to make her grand escape. She certainly didn't want to spend another boring weekend running from boutique to boutique after her mother while her father was meeting his own friends who knows where. "Talk about quality time together..." she snorted. As she stepped through the sliding doors, she suddenly got separated from her parents by a long line of schoolkids, apparently on a field trip. "Stay close to me!" their teacher, a grey-haired old woman shouted. "We seem to have arrived to the wrong terminal, so there's some more walking until we reach the Departures. Take a good care of your pair in the line, children!" Rorita noticed that a miserable-looking girl with glasses was walking all alone at the end of the line of pairs. Without a moment's hesitation, Rorita tagged up with her. "So, you have no pair, huh?" Rorita asked casually. The glass-eyed girl, a bit younger than herself, was dumbfounded of her sudden appearance. "Don't worry, gal, I'll keep you company!" "Really?" the other girl whispered. "Will you be my pair?" "Sure!" Rorita said, faking a friendly smile. She glanced over her shoulder, and saw her parents arguing with the chaffeur over something. Soon she would be out of their sight... "Are you one of my imaginary friends?" the schoolgirl asked. "I have a lot of those, I can't exactly recall them all..." "Uh... yeah! I'm your imaginary friend, sure!" Rorita said encouragingly. "Listen, how would you feel if you gave me your ticket? I would give you something really neat in exchange for it!" "Really?! Would you make my biggest wish come true?" the girl gasped. "Would you... get me a pony?!?!" "Of course!" Rorita said, and dug up her homekey - embroidered with gold, naturally. "This is the key to the stable where you'll find the pony. It's all yours - if you give me your ticket." They quickly made the exchange. Rorita knew she had to hurry, as they were almost at the Departures Terminal. "Oh gee, thanks!!!" the girl exclaimed, holding the key like a treasure. "But where can I find the stable?" "You saw that limousine we passed by?" Rorita asked. The girl nodded enthusiasticly. "The driver will get you there. Hurry up, or it'll leave without you!" "Oh, right!" the girl said absent-mindedly, her head full of images of her brand new pony, turned around and ran to the direction they had come from. "Easy as ma mama's appelpie!" Rorita said to herself devilishly and glanced at the ticket the girl had given her. "Huh? Toronto... Well, Canada, here I come!" ~*~*~*~*~*~ When the plane landed, Rorita quickly left the airport before the teacher would realize that she wasn't one of her pupils. Rorita wasn't quite sure exactly where in Canada Toronto was located, but it sure was chillier than the United States. "Well, at least I'm far, far away from my folks!" she smiled. Suddenly a brisk wind blew to her face. She thought she heard a voice in the wind... Elements... Gather at the Matchell Park... As the wind died down, her eyes noticed a bus on the other side of the lane, with the destination of nothing else than... "Matchell Park!" Rorita was baffled by the coincidences that had lead her here, but she was not going to let this chance slip by! It was time to seize the moment! Edit: changed the ending a bit to make it at least somewhat plausible.

o_O' Oh my... How on Earth am I going to get a 12 year old Southern Belle to Toronto, Canada?! Gotta really put my creativity to work here... It would've been fair to give the game a proper setting in the recruitment thread (something like "eleven kids from the same neighborhood find out about their special abilities"), but I guess it's too late for that now... X/ Well, I think Rorita will just jump into the next plane departing from the airport! ;P EDIT: Okay, sorted it out - in a silly, anime-ish way, but still. By odd twist of fate, Rorita is now in Toronto, heading on a bus to Matchell Park. And please, I do not need to hear that there is no bus connection from the airport to Matchell Park, because there is one now. XP

In case somebody hasn't followed the gaming news in the RPG front, Square Enix has revealed a FF XII sequel/spin-off in making for the Nintendo DS, known for now as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. Not much else is known about the game except what can be deducted from this scan. Apparently the story centers around the teenagers Vaan and Penelo (which many of those who've played the Japanese version of FF XII said were left quite in the background storywise). No other info for now, though. It's kinda irritating that on the other side of the planet they are already making a sequel to the game you have been lusting for so many years but still have to wait months until you can finally play it. >:/

The airport was bustling with people as Rorita and her parents stepped into the arrivals terminal. They had just one luggage with them, because they only came to the city for shopping - that's what her mother liked to do best. Rorita looked at her mother, who was practically beaming from the thought of getting into the haut-couture boutiques of the city. She had Japanese origins, but was quite tall for an Asian person. She was nearing her forties, but looked half her age - mainly thanks to the many cosmetic surgeries she had underwent. She had a constant smile on her botox-enhanced lips, a relic from her days as a supermodel. "Darling, I wonder where the chaffeur is?" Rorita's mother asked her father. "He was supposed to wait for us here!" Rorita turned to look at her father, an impressive, tall man with a greying dark hair and a million dollar grin. His greatgrandparents had come from France to start up a business, and it was now on his hands. Rorita had to admit it: their family was filthy rich. Her father was a landowner in South Carolina. He owned golf-clubs, fields, forests, holiday resorts in the Appalachies... He was often called "Donald Trump of the South". His father's money enabled for the whole family to go spend some "quality time" by shopping in a huge city such as this. Besides that and an occasional vacation in a beach resort, that's all they ever did together. "Don't worry, mabelle, he is probably outside smoking. Let's go and take a look. Rorita, you stay right here and watch the luggage, we will only be away for a second. Understood?" "Aye, sir!" Rorita huffed scornfully, squinting her eyes. Her father just ignored her. That's what he always seemed to do, these days - and her mother too. She felt as if she was just an extra burden on their shoulders. Sure, Rorita was quick to lose her temper, and had said some awful things to her parents, but they didn't realize that it was just a desperate attempt to get their attention! A single tear dropped from the corner of her eye and fell into the floor, between two tiles. To her horror Rorita saw a delicate, blue flower sprouting speedily from between the tiles. She quickly glanced around if anybody had noticed. This had happened before, but until now, it had only been during her solitary trips to the nearby forest back home. There she was alone in peace, just deep calm surrounding her. She knelt down, and put her hand over the flower. As fast as it had grown it began to wither until there was no trace of it left. "Rorita, what are you doing? Get up there, the floor is filthy!" It was her mother's nasal voice. She got up, and saw her parents arriving with the middle-aged, bored-looking chauffeur. "Hurry up now, gal, the limousine is waiting outside!" her father ushered her. At that moment, Rorita decided she wouldn't take the crap her parents were feeding her much longer. She was going to escape! ~*~*~*~*~*~ OoC: Adas, White, what city is the game taking place in? I assume it's USA, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Everybody, please put more effort to your posts in this RPG. Writing just one or two sentences of text per post does not progress the game at all, and is pretty much pointless, that's why it is not up to the level of quality we would like to maintain in this section of OtakuBoards. I'm not asking you to post short novels, just make at least a chapter or two per post, so that the other players can get at least something out of your text. Deathsye, you should know this already, so I'm not going to give anymore warnings after this. Shape up, or this thread will get closed. Thank you, and feel free to PM me if there's any confusion about the matter. - Sandy

People, I want to remind you that recruitment threads are not meant for chatting. Do that either through PMs or create a related thread to the Underground. Also, pay attention to basic grammar such as using a capital letter at the start of a sentence and a period at the end of it. We also discourage one sentence posts in this section of the OtakuBoards. Thank you! - Sandy

The idea of neutral element (or would Void sound better?) is actually quite interesting, Acheron. At this point, however, I would just like this thing to get started. I wanna play, dammit! XP

Name ~ Lariel Azaleah Age ~ 157, young in elven age Gender ~ male Race ~ Wood Elf Alignment ~ neutral Profession ~ Summoner/Dancer Appearance ~ Lariel surrounded by butterflies, the messengers of his Goddess
-Unknown/Wings of Destiny ~ Morgarath, meaning "Mourn Wings", a pair of long claws worn in the hand like gloves. Made of the sharpest elven steel able to cut even metal. They are imbued with a dark magic that poisons the mind of those cut by the claws. -Aeon ~ Hypnaeus, the Dreambringer, who contacted Lariel in a vivid dream one night. He is not a god but a servant to them, a very powerful aeon that can drive people mad but also give them comfort. Hypnaeus looks like a tall beautiful, pale-skinned man with large, iridescent wings of a butterfly, and a long see-through robe. Lariel won't admit it, but over his years as a summoner, he has begun to develop a certain kind of passion for his aeon. To his grief, the mighty spirit cannot feel the same way towards a mortal.
Deity ~ Analalrae, the Goddess of Life and Nature, to whom all Wood Elves commit their songs and dances Background ~ Lariel comes amongst the joyous race of Wood Elves. He, like so many of his kind, enjoys nothing more than the sound of laughter and the feeling of good will, and aims to spread happiness to all races. He is a realist, however, and he knows that sometimes one has to fight against those who seek to ruin the fun. This he learned from his pacifist parents, who were both slain when a band of rogues raided their sylvan village. Lariel fought back, even though he was just a kid, and survived. This event caused his laughter to always have something bitter in it. He became the student of a great elven Summoner, Bel'aria. She taught him the ways of battle and magic, and summoning too. Under her mentorship Lariel got his own Wings of Destiny, a special weapon which humans call Unknown, as well as a contact to an aeon. But the mentorship ended when Bel'aria found out that Lariel was practicing the Dance of Love with her own son, Eroth. In fury Bel'aria banished Lariel, cursing his manhood so that he could never have offspring. Lariel just laughed at her mockingly and left for the lands of the humans. Lariel wandered from city to another, making his fortune in the times of peace by dancing, and in the times of war by offering his services as a Mercenary Summoner. Years went by quickly, as they normally do to elves, but even the carefree Lariel couldn't avoid noticing the ominous change in the air... Hope this is satisfactory to you, Doublehex, and hope this RPG kicks off. The work put into this is really magnificent! ;D EDIT: I changed the raiding band of orcs to rogues (human, I suppose), and added more detail about Hypnaeus. I'll try to control Lariel's erotic urges, since this is a PG-rated game without explicit sexual content. ;P (Too bad...)

Eh, by Energy I meant something like pure energy, raw power etc, as a counterpart to Psychic, maybe. I don't like it much either, but with all the "classic" elements taken, I was just trying to think outside the box. ;D Arcane sure sounds nifty, but what is it, exactly? As an element, I mean? Pure magic? Mystery? How does it manifest itself? Let me think of another one... How about Spirit? Maybe it would involve things like invisibility, walking through walls, astral projection etc.
