Well, if not Time (it's a bit overpowered, yes, but not much in my opinion), how about something like Gravity or Energy, then? It's true that we're running out of elements here... X)

Eep, the battle for the spots in this RPG is getting rough! 8( I'm just extremely glad that nobody has decided to compete for the element of my character... Anyway, I don't want to control this game or anything, but does anybody agree with me that "eleven elemental warriors" sounds a bit odd? Maybe I'm just too accustomed to Three Witches, Seven Dwarves, Twelve Knights etc... One more element would make the number a nice round twelve... Plus, the competition would not have to be that cruel, then. The more the merrier!

Heh, nice going me! XD Using words that I didn't even know would be censored off... Well, the first line of asterisks was supposed to be the "n-word" and the second line with three asterisks sounds like FAQ. Just saying so that my message is clear...

Mimminx, not fair! >:/ You can't steal all the answers... *sobs* I will give my answer now, even though one of Mimminx's answers is the same (I swear I'm not stealing it, I reached the same conclusion!). Not to sound too harsh, this RPG seems like a great idea, BUT could've used a lot more work on the designing table. There is really no story at all (beyond "this is the story of a certain breed of mages who will go on an adventure"), no background to or details about the world or the races (physical appearances isn't details, history and leaders and locations is). I just loved the amount of background info you put into Citius Altius Fortius, it really helped to get a feel of the game, but I can also understand if putting that much work into a game that might not even happen is scary. Sometimes in life you just have to take risks, though. Adding more detail to the world of this game will not guarantee it's success, but it makes it altogether more likely to happen. ;D Just a few advice from a friend...
Without re-opening a can of worms, there's a reason why "oral sex" has the word "sex" in it. It is a type of sex. So, I would say that there are many types of sex...and if you have a type of sex you're no longer a virgin. That's the way I look at it, anyway. This is especially true for a male, where there's no hymen to break and so on...it's really not quite so black and white, I'd say. But that's just my view - I understand that other people interpret this aspect differently.
I just hate you for this, Jamesy; you always find the words to make your point short and accurate! In this case, all of my ten posts filled with inane blabbering of what I know and what I don't about sex aimed to the very same point you made with a few simple sentences. I hate you. ;P PS. Zidargh, you're right: I should've given reasons to my claims more. To tell you the truth, the very thought of confronting a vagina frightens the heck out of me, so while I do know where the clitoris and all the other female anatomy is located, I might be to grossed out to actually do anything with that knowledge.
Hm, i was actually going to inquire as to whether spots can be competed for or not. I think i'll give it a shot, if you don't mind White. Wanted to sign up when i first saw it, but it was fairly late last night and i had counted on grabbing a spot today. Turns out those spots went pretty quickly :p It should be up anywhere between now and a couple of hours.
Or there could be one more element, like Metal, or Cold/Ice. Time is a pretty nifty elemental as well... But I'm sure White doesn't want to overdo it, though. Sorry, White for not remembering your past nicks. X) I was kind of thinking you might be Winged-Kid, but the quality of the thread baffled even me, who was around here at that time. ;P The awesome quality, mind you.

The key is to do an advanced search for Titles Only. Here are White's "Elements" RPGs: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=29466&highlight=Elements An old one, called Elements: The Order of the Fenix. Not a very original title, is it White? ;P http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=41697&highlight=Elements The second oldest, from 2004, called Elements: Rewind. Hmm, seems like a pretty traditional RPG. http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?t=53919&highlight=Elements This is Elements Online from this very summer, now with MMORPG flavors. Puts me wondering, the last game had the number VI on it. Are there even more Elements RPGs besides these three that you were involved in, White? I think it's just interesting to find out about the history of this series of yours. It's kinda like Final Fantasy, where all the parts are separate from each other, but still share many similiarities. Intriguing...
There were other elemental threads? Now I want to see them! Beter post some links white, so that you can settle my curiousity...
OR you could just use the search option. ;D There are always many ways of doing things, you know? However, if you do things yourself, you usually get the desired result much faster.
The only way not to be thrown off balance would for YOU to have the conception that sex is just 'hardcore banging'.
Pfft, please don't cling onto everything word I say, I was just using that term to color up my text a bit. ;D Why do all people take me so literally?! *martyr sigh* Okay, too tired for this now...

I know it's a lame excuse to avoid further debate over this very confusing issue, but I can only deduce that the word "sex" must mean a different thing in English language than it does in Finnish. You use it to describe just the intercourse, we use it to describe everything else of that nature as well. Let's just leave it at that, okay? ;D I have to say though (and I'm not debating over this, just making a remark), that I find your assumption that I would be somehow clumsier with women than your average straight guy just because I haven't had any type of sex with one. I, however, do know where the "critical parts" are located in a woman, and the same can't really be said about some straight guys. ;P
-
Not having played in any of your Elements RPGs before (I'm pretty sure there've been several of them in the past, though), I have to ask whether there's some crucial information I should know about them? Or do they link to this game at all? What about our character powers? The recruitment thread instructed that they should start from as minuscule as possible. Will the characters carry any weapons with them, then? Will they later gain access to some super-duper-elemental-armors like Power Rangers or sorts? I know, it would be kind of cheesy, but who knows what you've planned for the game? ;D
-
Hmm, with this many great roleplayers signing into this, I just can't pass this opportunity to join the game as well, although the story is quite generic. I have high hopes you have something good planned for us, though, Adas and White! ;D ~*~*~*~*~*~ Name: Rorita D'Arc Age: 12 Gender: female Appearance: Rorita, with her preteen cuteness and innocence that covers her ill nature. No, I'm just gay. ;D And I'm most definitely not a virgin. Virgins don't have the experience I have, seriously. I can only assume that you live in a little heterosexual bubble where sex is hardcore banging, but people really are different out there. Separating sex and lovemaking as different things is going to pure semantics. It's basically the same type of action, the other word is just more emotionally charged. But I grow tired of debating over this thing, when obviously nothing I can say will make you consider your definition. You've learned that sky is blue, so I really can't make you believe it can sometimes be pink.
What about mutual masturbation?
It all depends in my mind whether the two who are masturbating are doing it only by themselves, or to each other. The latter one is definitely a sexual act, while the first one is not so self-explanatory to me. As for Adahn, you still seem to keep the idea that sex=intercourse, and that's your opinion which you are entitled to, but it's not the official definition, if there even is one. I don't claim that my definition is the right one either, but calling someone a virgin just because he hasn't entered his penis into a vagina is ludicrous, and shows that you have very little experience in the different forms of sex. The main thing bothering the bedroom life of many married couples, or so several magazines and studies seem to imply, is that their sex is simply boring. The man mounts the woman, gives a few shoves, comes and that's it. There is so much more a couple can do to each other intimately, but saying that only the act described in the previous sentence is actual sex, is just immature. I don't claim to be the all-knowing Dr. Sex or anything (although I kind of feel like it now ;P ), but I know what is sex, both in theory and in practice. It varies culturally, of course, but using pure common sense, it feels downright silly to rule out everything except penetration out of the definition. PS. And I'm not trying to change the definition of sex, it's just one of those things which can be perceived in various different ways. Plus, I dare to say that my definition of sex is much safer to these "confused teenagers" than yours, as in you can have sex without the pressure of going as far as intercourse. You can't get pregnant by using your hands or mouth, remember that! (Although you might want to avoid catching herpes...)

Actually, it all comes down to how you define losing your virginity. Just "by having sex" is a broooad expression, and "by inserting a penis into a vagina" is too narrow (since we all don't enjoy vaginas, and I really don't consider myself a virgin anymore). ;P Sure, masturbation is a sexual act! So is definitely blowjobs, handjobs (as in another person masturbating you), licking nipples, stepping onto testicles with a high heel... All of these things involve arousal of one or more people. Stop being so penetration-centered! Sex is so much more, and "losing virginity" is just an expression, a word for the first time "you did it". Whatever you did, you'll know when you really did it. Masturbation doesn't cause you to lose your virginity in my opinion, but to share a sexual experience with another person does. However, there are people out there that think a girl has lost her virginity if she breaks her hymen while masturbating. But that thinking is both sexist and unfair, because the same doesn't go with guy's masturbation. All I'm saying, widen your way of thinking when it comes to this issue! Sex is such a beautiful thing! ;D
[[Note-If you want to claim thats a godmod, you can't. If someone can block it, its not a godmod, and its your own fault for lacking mana, not mine. I seriously hope that the house had a backdoor! XP Hmm, I wonder how many chapters are you going to have to this, Blayze? Or haven't you decided yet? The story is intensifying with each new chapter, but the characters are still a bit vague and monotonic. They could use more... flavor, one could say. ;D
I didn't hint at anything? What about the conversation between Branit and Keith? Didn't you wonder what they were talking about?
Heh, I wondered, sure, but didn't get anything out of it. It was so vague, I could not connect it to anything else that the "recommendation" has something to do with the Crossover. *shrugs* But good to hear there is a plot. This game could've easily been just a "let's play we're all playing a virtual MMORPG!"-type of a game (although I don't think there has been at least many of those...). Never mind my ramblings, I was just checking if I would really be interested in joining up. Don't know yet, though... ;P -
To you who view sex as containing only heterosexual intercourse, I have to say you're waaay lost. We did an elegatory project on our class, where we held a sex-educational week for a few hundred 8th graders (14-15 years old) of different schools in the area. While doing that project, we ourselves learned a lot, too. The most important thing that we as well as the 8th graders learned, in my opinion, is that sex cannot be limited to pure intercourse. There are countless ways that people get aroused and arouse themselves, and all of them can be called sex. It might be shunned upon by parents, like masturbation, or illegal, like pedophilia, or something only very few people get aroused of, like smelling sweaty feet, but it's still sex, because it arouses one person or more people. Even foreplay is sex, although some of you don't see it that way. If you narrow your view on sex to pure act of pluggin' and plowin', then I can tell you straight away that your sex-life will get very dull eventually. ;P Going back to the sex-ed week we held, we had four info-points that the 8th graders circulated in smaller groups: female sexuality, male sexuality, sexual protection and love & dating (the latter was which I was involved in). The feedback gotten from the youth was positive and it really showed that something started to move inside their head. Our aim was that if we could prevent even just one early teenage pregnancy, sexual disease case or rape, our job would be well done. And I think we hit that aim. ;D

So, what's the plot? Or does this game have one, or is it just purely an text-based version of a MMORPG? You didn't hint anything in the sign-up thread... I'm talking about if something specific happens during the game, for example somebody taking over the avatars while the real player is absent, or something like that. If it's just daily MMORPG routine (fighting, chatting, adventuring), then I'm not too sure I personally would be interested. :/ That sort of game would easily and quickly get repetitive in my opinion (one of the reasons I don't play real MMORPGs either). -
I can honestly say that I haven't ever even heard of the guy before this, so I'm not moved in either way. Didn't his mommy ever teach him not to play with sting rays, though?
I don't think they have any games in development for the GBA anymore, and it also wasn't shown at all during the last E3.
Actually, S-E is developing "Advance" remakes of FF V and FF VI to the GBA, as a continuation to FF I & II and IV Advance. But other than those, I haven't heard anything else coming to the GBA anymore...
It looks like, rather going with the generic "Summoner" name, it'll be Evokers who will do the summoning.
If you look at the official site, you can see that there is both an Evoker and a Summoner job, just like in the original game (Evoker was dubbed Conjurer in the fan-translation). Evoker is a weak summoner, only able to get random result from summoning, while Summoner has access to the more powerful attacks of the summon beasts (the latter style of summoning was the one that stuck with the rest of the series). So there, inconsequential FF trivia for you! ;P
