A tomb silence fell upon the contestants as Krystal announced her decision. Finally Mog broke it. "That's it, kupo. Crash Bandicoot, you are the thirteenth person voted out of OtakuBoards Survivor: Game On! Kupo, bye bye!" The furry adventurer started to fade away, muttering something about "voting the best out". When Crash was gone, Mog looked at the remaining contestants. "You are the final five, kupo. The next three challenges will drop out three of you, one by one, until there's two remaining. At this point, any one of you can be in that final twosome. May the kupoest survivor win!"

Heh, that guy's at least outspoken. ;P I believe that Chabichou is telling one side of the story, while this Scarborough-guy is telling another side. This whole issue is not as black-and-white as either of them tries to claim. Muslim radicals aren't just a tiny minority, but they aren't a large majority either (not to mention the entire Islamic population). The cartoons were wrong, but they pale in comparison to what the Muslim radicals have done in the past and are currently doing. But on the other hand, they have their own reasons for their actions. I strongly believe that Denmark is one of the last countries who should apologize for their actions. The whole population of this planet needs one big group hug. ;D Too bad we don't live in that kind of world, so this stupid feud will go on before the other side nukes the other. X( Then we'll have another 50 years of peace before the next big collision.

Oh, I think you can satisfy the fans, but only by doing the tasks perfectly (which is totally impossible). XP Thankfully there's a lot of variation on the missions, so it's not only "make the katamari this large in this amount of time". Those are in my opinion the trickiest kinds, though. In one mission I had to make a 1 meter katamari into a 500 meters in just 17 minutes! I kept falling about a 100 metres short, until I played the stage in co-operation mode with my bf, when we got 19 minutes' time. ;D Seriously, the game has been haunting my dreams ever since I got it, so I decided to keep a katamari-free day today. I needed it, I'm feeling much more sane now. ;D

Upon receiving all votes, I have edited my last post to the game thread. Unfortunately nothing's solved yet, as there's a surprising tie situation between Mario/White, Lara/Doukeshi and Crash/Baron. It's up to Krystal/Solo, as the winner of this challenge, to decide who of these three will have to leave this competition. Please post your decision to the game thread (in character), and I will post after that the traditional "dispersing" picture of the one you chose. A tough choice, no doubt, but it's the name of this vicious game. :/

Not long after the six contestants had warped out the CPU they returned one by one, all exhausted and wounded. "Tough fights, kupo? I must say I was very impressed with everybody, but before I go on... Curagajadama!" All six survivors' wounds were magically healed, and they all felt refreshed. "With that settled, kupo, it's time to judge everybody's performances individually."
Mario: Your fight was filled with the traditional taunts, which was positively amusing, and you used your natural skills with variety. You also used the environment to your advantage. However, the battle lacked excitement and it was a bit one-sided, kupo. Yuna: I would say the same things to you as I said to Mario, kupo, about the good use of your skills, but it made you a bit overpowered. Not that thrilling of a fight... Flashy but not surprising. Xiaoyu: You had the advantage of knowing your opponent beforehand, and you used that information well. Poor Panda never stood a chance, kupo... I was also expecting more emotional stuff, kupo. Krystal: You had a long and grueling battle with Mileena, that really required all your strenght. Your use of telepathic skills were innovative and surprising. Lara: Your battle was emotionally charged, and you did well despite your lack of any supernatural skills. It required you to use your imagination, kupo, and you did that well. Crash: A proper fight, you literally fought with your claws and teeth. It was not very exciting, though, and it lacked that something that would make it notable.
"With judging over and done, I'll announce who won of this tenth challenge. The winner is..." Krystal "Really?!" the blue fox exclaimed surprised. The other contestants slapped her back, congratulating her. "Really, kupo. You are now safe from votes in the next Team Council that starts immediately." "The others of you... Crash, Lara, Yuna, Xiaoyu, Mario... One of you five is going to be deleted tonight. To revise, everybody can vote, but Krystal can't be voted off. It's time for the first individual Team Councils, kupo, so cast your votes."

If you feel unsure you love him, then it's most likely that you don't yet. Get to know him better, and when the time comes to "say it", either of you probably says it. In my relationship (the one and only that I have ever had and still have), we told "it" to each other for the first time by text messages (hey, I live in Finland - the promised land of cell phones). ;P Although we have said it afterwards face to face every time we meet. It still feels great and fuzzy and comfy and all, because we both feel that way (even though the dopamine has settled long time ago). ;D

You have a beautiful cat. -
The Battle Royale -challenge is now over, and the winner is Krystal/Solo Tremaine, with his innovative and detailed post. The others were very good as well, but I had to pick one. Not that hard a choice, but I had to think about it nevertheless... So now all six of you are in the first individual Team Council. Krystal has immunity from votes, so she can't be voted off, but one of the other five will sadly leave this game after I receive all six votes. Votes away, and Game On! ;D
i think the news paper should apologize and then thats it, done.
But honestly, it won't be just "done" with it. These riots go a lot deeper than mere comics (that were published half a year ago!). The muslim extremists are just looking for an excuse to extend this "jihad" of theirs to Europe as well, and now they are using these comics as a weapon. Most of the rioters have obviously fallen for the propaganda (it's like the Nazis ruling again; people blindly follow whatever few madmen say). And I'm only talking about the burnings and threats - of course muslims have the right to complain when their religion is being mocked, I just wish they'd do it in a civilized, humane way (like I bet the vast majority of muslims are doing). So I believe that even if the newspaper apologizes (if it hasn't already, I don't know), it will have little effect on the most enfuriated rioters. This has gotten out of hands, this Bush's war against terrorism. I never believed for a second that anything good could become of it - all it has caused is that the east and the west are in a similar no-escape situation as in Israel. :( I used to feel glad I'm living so far off everything that's related to the war, but now it's spreading to Finland's neighboring countries. I can't feel safe anymore... X(
-
Currently the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria are on fire. I don't know about any casualties, but more than likely there are at least some. All because stupid comics... X(
-
I agree totally that this thing has been blown out of proportions, but it greatly worries me that the Islamic extremists are already putting death threats on all Danish/French people. Over one lowsy comic! There seems to be zero rational thinking among the fundamentalists, honestly! X( This is one vicious cycle, and I personally can't trace where it all began. The tension between west and the east is intensifying all the time, and I fear it'll eventually explode in some very catastrophic and terminal way... :/

I intentionally left the Battle Dome without description, because I wanted everybody to use their imagination for the surroundings. ;D I also didn't want to limit your fights with saying "there's a wall here" or "there's a drop there". It's all about freedom to fight in Battle Royale. ;P

I know there's a thread about Katamari Damacy, but as this is a sequel, I felt it needed a thread of it's own. So, the first game never reached the European shores, but We

I said by the end of this week, so how does February the 5th sound? ;P I'll be judging everybody's posts only then, so you can freely edit them before that - just make it done if you want any chances of winning. G.O.! PS. White, thanks for your "today's embarrassing old post" with me on it. X) I really needed that...

It's not "elitistic" if you know how to write. ;P Sure, it might be hard for a new member who's used to write only so-so to get into OB's systems, but it's not impossible - every "full" member here is a living example of that. I, for one, am ashamed of my post quality from when I joined at v.4, but at that time it was common style (which was still considered "good quality" in comparison to some other forums). Naturally I improved my writing skills at the same time the vast majority of members did so too. I believe the overall quality is a defining factor on how forum members post. It can be even seen here at OB on smaller scope. I'll be brave enough to say that the members who frequent in Anime Lounge have poorer writing quality over those who mainly use the Arena. I honestly don't know what causes this difference, but I guess it's just that people adapt to how the others around them write... The environment, in a manner of speech. But but... I wouldn't worry too much about what other online communities think of us, since we know we definately top them for example in post quality. A proud thing to say, but in most cases true. ;D

White: I was actually searching for an interesting-enough DoA-character, but as I have little to no knowledge about the games (aside the excessive boobiness) I passed it. None of the characters struck me as very personal, either... But sure, fireballs are allowed. Just try to be versatile in your fighting. Doukeshi: I actually own both SC II and SC III, and Voldo is one of my favest characters (not gameplay-wise but personality-wise), mostly because of his creepiness. ;D The reason I paired him with Lara is that she's a tomb raider, and he's a tomb guard. What a great crossover-game would that make if those two starred in it... 8D

The tenth challenge, Battle Royale, has launched! This time I'll test your ability to write a single intense post, where your character will face a famous fighting-game character in a one-on-one duel. Your character can use all his or her special talents, except projectile weapons. Magic, kicking, boxing, bludgeoning, biting, scratching, spinning etc. are all allowed. ;D Most important thing to notice is the one post/player -limit in this challenge. You have time for this week to come up with your one post (although editing is naturally allowed). I will make the decision on who wins based on the overall quality of your post, plus your use of imagination in the fight. Also doing some background check for your opponent won't do any harm (au contraire). Here's a little list of the players and their opponents for the sake of clarification:
Sakura vs. Chun-Li from Street Fighter Doukeshi vs. Voldo from Soul Calibur Baron Samedi vs. Yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur/Tekken Solo Tremaine vs. Mileena from Mortal Kombat Raiyuu vs. Panda from Tekken White vs. King from Tekken
Like normally, all questions that arise are directed to this thread, so Game On!

The six survivor candidates had gotten a day's rest that they used to load their batteries and to get to know each others better. Despite being separated for a long time to males and females, all former alliances seemed to fade away as they became individual rivals. But the peace was cut short by Mog's announcement that a new challenge was about to begin. The six remaining contestants made their way to the main hall of the CPU, where the host was already waiting for them with six peculiar guests. "Kupo, welcome to your tenth challenge, Battle Royale. We have some, eh... interesting guests here standing behind me, kupo." Mog waved at the his petite paw at the six quirky figures. There was a strange masked samurai, a tall dark-skinned woman with a veil over her mouth, an agile oriental woman, a disturbing blindfolded and gagged man, a jaguar-headed hulk... and a giant panda. "It's Panda, my beloved Panda!" Ling Xiaoyu squealed, and the beast replied with a wave of a paw. "Ahem, focus please!" Mog said to her with a strict glare. "Thanks, kupo. Now, in this challenge each of you will face one of these characters behind me - all from famous fighting games - in a one-on-one fight. Each pair will be warped to a special stage for fighting called the Battle Dome. There you will fight your opponent until you win, kupo. Or lose, but I'd prefer the other way around. Here's some specific rules:"
1. One-on-one battle, one round, one winner, simple as kupo. Meaning only one post per contestant for the whole challenge! 2. No projectile weapons allowed, kupo! Only méleè arsenal. 3. Once all players have finished off their opponents, I will personally judge their performance, and make a decision on who will win, thus getting an immunity from votes in the following Team Council. 4. After this challenge, one of you six will leave this game for good. So do your worst, kupo!
"And now you're probably itching to find out who you're up against, kupo?" Well..." Yuna vs. Chun-Li A legendary female martial artist from Street Fighter -series. She's fast and furious, and can easily sweep your feet under you. Lara Croft vs. Voldo He is blind, mute and barking mad from spending decades locked into his master's treasury in Sicily, but now he's out, slicing and dicing all objects from his way with his sharp katar-blades. He hails from the Soul Calibur -series. Crash Bandicoot vs. Yoshimitsu A Feudal Japanese bandit with supernatural skills. He carries a katana and a flag, which he can use as a bogo-stick and a propeller, respectively. He can definitely spin you senseless. He makes appearance in both Tekken and Soul Calibur -series Krystal vs. Mileena A mysterious she-warrior who uses twin sais. Her face-veil covers her hideous mouth that is filled with long razor-sharp teeth. She can just eat you alive - for real. She originates from the Mortal Kombat -series. Ling Xiaoyu vs. Panda A beloved pet of Xiaoyu from Tekken, who trained her well in the art of battle. Let's see how she fares against her owner... Mario vs. King This big kitty-cat is another beast from Tekken -series. He sports immense brutal strength and formidable speed, so it seems like an impossible task to make this cat purr. "Kupo, you must use every ounce of your physical strength to beat these professional fighters, so before you teleport into the Battle Dome, I want to wish you good luck, and Game On!" The six contestants prepared themselves for the sudden test of power, gulping as they looked at their fearsome opponents.

Currently I'm stuck on drawing anime-ish characters. X/ Honestly, I can't remember the last I've drawn, for example, a simple house! I should really expand the themes of my drawings but on the other hand I have no motivation to do so. ;P The other artsy stuff I used to do is performing arts. As a kid I was in an amateur theatre for four years, and then went to an upper secondary school that specialized in performing arts, where I did a few more plays. That all was few years past, though, and since then I haven't had much chance to do any acting... Shame. :/ Oh, and then I write. Or at least try to write. It's mostly Final Fantasy fanfiction or gamescripts for my own amusement. Nothing big, and I never get anything finished. Stupid waves of inspiration, why do you come so seldom and leave so quickly! >:O

Sorry, I wasn't being dead serious with my last response... X) I was just bothered by the fact that Shadow Blade seemingly missed the deeper meaning of the movie because he was apparently jumping in and out of the theater. And that's a shame. It might be "moral" uneasiness, but it's still homophobia. ;P And I'm not saying Shadow Blade is a redneck who wants to punch every fairy to death, but there's different levels of homophobia, his apparently being "two guys share deep emotions - eww!". Of course I can't speak for Shadow Blade, I'm just making assumptions here (dangerous sports, I know). I understand if people don't want to see explicit gay intercourse or such, but kissing is so common a sight nowadays that it should not make anybody blush (anybody over ten, that is). But on the other hand, I'm not the one to say what can disgust anybody and what not... Oh, and about that "it shouldn't make you uncomfortable part", I really should've italized the should-word. I meant that in my ethics, nobody should be bothered by man-to-man love, but of course that's just me. I should've explained it in more words, I admit. It's just hard to put down in words something that you know what you mean by it, without realizing that others may not understand it. But yeah, I'm kind of strict when it comes to discrimination against sexual orientation, I tend to see devils everywhere with that subject. XP My apology for being so blunt and quite rude (like I tend to be), Shadow Blade. I sincerely think you are brave having went to see the movie nevertheless. ;D PS. Happy now, Drixy? ;P
Brokeback Mountain? To be quite honest, the film made me extremely uncomfortable. I basically watched it out of curiosity. The film turned out to be hard to watch, in my case. I don't really know what happened due to the fact that I kept getting more popcorn from the consession stand and taking a lot of restroom breaks to last me a lifetime.
That's called homophobia. ;) You feel uneasy when faced with a subject that's unfamiliar with you, that's completely natural. However, you would be better off to get over it, there was nothing disgusting in the movie as such (well, maybe counting out the one time they "did it", but that's all a matter of orientation). By sticking into rather irrelevant details, you probably missed the whole point of the movie. Sure, it had two guys who loved each other, but that happens. There's nothing in it that should make you uncomfortable. I must, however, compliment you for being so "brave" that you went to see it despite your prejudice. ;D

The game thread has been updated with the eviction of two players: JJ/Ada Wong and Blayze/Shadow the Hedgehog. Sorry guys, you were out of luck, but I sincerely thank you both for playing with us! :D As for the remaining six, the Game goes On! Solo Tremaine... Sakura... Doukeshi... White... Raiyuu... Baron Samedi... You are now the Survivors of the Ultimate Game. You all have 1/6 chance of winning this whole competition that has already been on for nearly three months! The finish line is looming ahead, the race towards it continues. Game On, everybody, Game On! ... Oh, and expect a new, individual challenge next week. ;D

I'm sorry you feel that way, Charles, but I wasn't trying to kiss-up anybody (that's simply something I don't do) - I just wanted to stir up a conversation about this issue that has obviously touched many people. It's not like the moderators are the only ones entitled to discuss bans, is it? And because I'm not close friends with anybody here at OB and don't do AIM, creating threads like this is the only way for me to discuss (or "gossip" if you wish) about things. I thought OB was an open community, but apparently it's just a gathering place for different cliques who don't tolerate "outsiders". *tries his best not to make himself a martyr* So I wasn't the most polite in my wordings? I can honestly whip out the language-card again - you guys just don't seem to understand that my English vocabulary is very limited compared to yours, despite how good my grammar seems to be! Alas, I'm tired (it's 2.44 AM here), so nothing decent will come out of me now. I seems I made a mistake by creating this thread, but I've learned my lesson now. Delete this thread, lock it, whatever.
-
I actually don't pity Brasil/Alex because he was banned, but because of his manner of getting sick satisfaction from humiliating people - all the while calling it a "reality check" or something like that. Obviously empathy is an unknown concept to him, at least here at the boards. I didn't know Mitch very well, but as you said, Drix, their feud got the best of them. I'm sorry about your "loss" of good friends, but they really had it coming to them. I'm not saying they necessarily deserved it, but they were warned, as Shy said. They just didn't stop it early enough. And honestly, I didn't make this thread to insult either Brasil or Mitch, but for a way to people express their feelings about the issue. My feelings towards Brasil might be negative, but I was expecting that some of his friends would write something opposite. I remember that the previous time OB had to face a similar situation was when Tasis/Zeh was banned for impersonating James. At that time people didn't have any place to write out their feelings, and the uncertainty of what happened bugged me for some while back then. It's different when old members leave at their own will as opposed to when they are banned. The latter always has some things boiling under it that touch the entire board...
